Wow, I’ve never been in such a friendly and helpful hardware store! Staff checked in to see if I needed help and actually had knowledge about their products. What a contrast to the big box stores. I also loved the range of products sold- something for everyone, not only a hardware store.

I highly recommend Twins Ace Hardware for their customer service, huge and varied selection, good prices, and old-fashioned community spirit. Shopping there and interacting with the staff feels like a small-town experience, where everybody is smiling and joking around with each other. I made a big purchase there, with the help of Scott, who spent a lot of time answering my questions about the Big Green Egg grill, and doing so honestly and with no-pressure to buy. The delivery was right on time, very professional, and I was happily surprised that Andy and Malcolm had assembled the Egg and its stand (aka: nest) as well, which saved me and my husband lots of time and effort! Twins Ace Hardware has also supported my neighborhoods Halloween decorating contest for as long as I can remember, donating lots of items for the winning family. Twins truly embodies the hometown hardware store.

They dont have *everything* but they have a lot, including old fashioned sodas and dishtowels with sassy sayings. On our last trip we bought flower seeds, paint, lightbulbs, metal glue, and we almost picked up a squeegee.The staff is beyond helpful and kind. So grateful to have a local hardware store with heart.

Like other Ace location, somehow they always have what I need within reason. This location also caters to the suburban customer amazingly by carrying a lot of practical home goods and grilling equipment. In fact, their grilling supplies are probably the best Ive seen in all of NoVa. Not the cheapest stuff, but they are packed full of amazing products!

I love to browse in this store. The staff is very attentive, and is available throughout the store to help you find things and answer questions. For such a small hardware store, you usually can find exactly what you need. Its very well run and organized, and they have lots of fun small gifts and stocking presents.

Scott was very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in looking for a moving blanket and he was able to lead me right to where they were on the shelf.I felt bad walking into the store 20 minutes before closing, but the associates were patient and answered all my project questions without making me feel rushed. I’ll be back, but definitely not 20 minutes before closing.

I went in to the store yesterday because the chain saw I bought a couple of years ago wouldnt start. It turned out to be my own error, but they fixed the problem and explained to me how to avoid it. This is the kind of store we need in Fairfax, helpful and caring local businesses that we can count on.

Took a Stihl chainsaw for repair around last year. Guys did a great job. My saw works fine to this day. The price was really fair much to my surprise. Knocking down one star as it took maybe 6 weeks and I think they forgot to order my part timely. But I am a homeowner so I didnt need the saw back ASAP. Overall, great customer service whenever I walk in.

Defintely worth the 20-minute drive from Springfield. Twins Ace Hardware is the closest hardware store to our location. Staff was incredibly pleasant/ helpful, huge selection of items including some fun surprises. They even have a card to give you discounts if you make more frequent trips. Very fair prices. Will definitely be going back there.

Was going to come here first and should have, but Lowes and Home Depot were on the way. This is fairly reminiscent to the hardware stores of yesteryear. Needed a key cut of which I owned the blank. Was told by Lowes that they will not cut anything that I dont buy from them. Home Depot fumbled around and finally a manager flat out said they wont cut my key.Got to Twins and they wrote me an invoice and I went up to pay and by the time I got back there they were two brand new keys that worked perfectly. If I came here first Id have saved a bunch of time.

I ordered a Weber Summit Grill just a few weeks ago. The ACE Team explained that the grill needed to be special ordered. I received an update when the grill arrived at their store, and we scheduled a delivery date. When the grill arrived, I was surprised that it was fully assembled, at NO additional charge. Also, their team delivered the grill in the pouring rain!!! This GREAT service and communication in spite of the disruption of COVID-19. I am SO IMPRESSED and appreciative!!! I love the ACE Team. Great local hardware store. I was there today and two employees were very helpful and friendly. One of them had their child with them, and that made me want to support ace hardware even more. It’s a teacher work day in Fairfax County so I’m guessing that’s why. We need more employers with that kind of family-friendly and family-supportive policies. I will be back this weekend! It’s even a great place for gifts - good yeti collection.

Excellent service in the style of the old Fischers Hardware that used to be in Springfield, VA. After being greeted and helped immediately, I was approached by 3 more employees with offers of help while I waited for my new Toro mower to be brought down in the freight elevator. Then 3 employees helped by loading the mower into the back of my vehicle. Then the original fellow helped me secure an item to the top rack that I had to remove from the back to make room for the mower. Cant tell you how many times I bought large items at Hechingers, Home Depot, and Costco and was just left to figure it out on my own. Excellent support from the employees at Twins Ace Hardware.p.s. They were all masked and gloved up.

This store is fantastic because of the super-helpful staff. I always choose to go here first when Im working on a project because the staff are so helpful, they dont just help you find the aisle the item you need is in, they take you to the right part, help you compare it against other options, check to make sure your happy that its right, and then they all and look forward to helping you find the next part. Its amazing, the personal attention is so well worth it. Ive had occasion to have one of the employees there spend twenty minutes helping me find the right bolt. Absolutely amazing customer service!

Twins Ace Hardware only seems to hire people who are knowledgeable in their field. No matter what you were trying to do there is someone there to help. You receive expert of advice and assistance from their staff. The store carries hard to find hardware items.

Love this place, a first rate hardware store a 15 minute walk from home. Ample variety of stock to meet most hardware needs, but the store is small enough to be in and out in minutes. If an item is not in stock, they find it and have it delivered for pick up in a few days. The staff is great - polite and knowledgeable. Indeed the owners should start a business training staff for other stores, for the staff at Twins are a delight to deal with.

Fantastic real hardware store and great customer service

Im giving this place 5 stars only because 50 isnt an option. You cant get the kind of personalized service at larger stores you get at Ace, particularly Twins. This has been my experience here consistently. But today, the folks at Twins went far above and beyond. Brought my sons wheelchair in to replace a missing bolt. They fixed it for us on the spot. This place and its people really are Aces!

These guys are great...they will go out of their way to help you find what youre looking for, troubleshoot your projects with you, and offer solutions. Every time I walk in, I am guided to the right aisle by friendly staff. Considering the size of the store, there is a great selection and their prices are reasonable. I used to visit Lowes/Home Depot often until I experienced the service provided at Twins Ace in Fairfax. Top notch customer service! I was looking for the perfect color for our babys nursery from their Benjamin Moore selection and Tabatha was very helpful in helping us find the perfect color. If you need help choosing from what seems like millions of shades, ask for Tabatha. Her recommendations were on point.

Customer service is excellent. Great place to buy Stihl power equipment. Their service department is very knowledgeable, warranties are honored here too. Vince is a great mechanic/salesman, he looks out for the customer. Would recommend this store to others for sure

This place is closer than the big stores, but they do not keep a good stock of common plumbing supplies. I have come here twice within the last 3 months and they have no 1/2 inch copper caps. If you are in the middle of a project and nearby, just drive the extra 1.9 miles to HD.

Great small family run hardware store. Very good selection for its size, and friendly staff. I would so much rather shop here than one of the impersonal chain giants.

The service here is amazing. Two young men delivered an assembled grill to my house today. They were both pleasant and helpful. Andy indicated that he was the one who assembled the grill and he explained that he was very careful not to scratch it during assembly. Service and customer care at this high level is rare, so I thank Andy and the other person for doing such a great job.

Although they do seem to be price gouging a bit on covid related items, they always have what you need.

Bought a back pack leaf blower here. The staff was excellent. They discussed the different Stihl models and explained the differences. When I was ready to buy, the staff took me out back and showed me how to start and operate. They filled the gas tank and cranked it right up and helped me to my car. This is an outstanding local business to purchase quality stuff.

Twins Ace Hardware is User Friendly. I am always greeted by someone as I walk into the store, am shown where I can find whatever I need. (And they always have what I need, and more!) This store puts to shame the Home Depot and Lowes variety of stores where 95% of its employees dont know much of anything.Unlike the big box stores, the employees at Twins Ace Hardware in Fairfax City talk the talk and walk the walk. In the off chance that an employee doesnt know the answer, they will admit it, and then they will find the answer.Assuming you can even find an employee at Home Depot or Lowes whos not hiding from customers, many of them will look at you directly in the eye and fabricate an answer so they can return to their napping. At the Twins Ace Hardware in Fairfax City, associates regularly walk by to ask if you have any questions or need any help.Having this Twins Ace Hardware in Fairfax City is amazing. It is well managed, full of courteous and knowledgeable employees, and loaded with outstanding products. In my opinion, this place is an absolute gem. Keep up the fantastic job!

Bought a BBQ from the Ace website, with the offer of free assembly and delivery. I got a call today from this Ace saying my BBQ was in, but they cant deliver because I live outside their delivery zone. It appears that the website order didnt have a way to notice the buyer if their home was outside of the delivery zone. Were 20 miles away from this Ace - which is the nearest to our home. However, a short time later, the store personnel called back and said they are going above-and-beyond to deliver the BBQ anyway. Theyve earned my business and deep appreciation. 5 STARS!!!

Excellent service and experience! I recently went to Twins Ace Hardware to buy A Stihl BR600 blower after having a bad experience at another Stihl dealer in the area. The staff was extremely helpful in answering my questions prior to purchasing. After purchase and while still in the store, I noticed a crack in the front casing of the blower. Mr. John and Eddie from the service department immediately switched the blower out for a new one. Eddie then gave me a very thorough demo of my new blower. The service was top notch and I will be buying and servicing Stihl products at Twins Ace Hardware in Fairfax for years to come! Thank you!!

Convenience, service is a plus

I love this store because they care about their customers. I needed a replacement set screw for a door handle and an employee spent 5 minutes helping me find this 30 cent item. The store lost money on this sale no doubt, but I have been back for larger purchases. Why? Because they are pros at what they do and I get help immediately instead of wandering around a large box store wasting time looking for what I need or waiting for help.

I dont know how much better I can describe the service here than anyone else who has posted, but immediately after walking through the door, youre asked by the cashier if they can help you locate what youre looking for, point you in the right direction, and ask if you need help.If you look like youre unsure of your selection, an employee of the store is oftentimes walking by and asks if they can help, and with a brief description, point you in the right direction, with no hesitation. The owners and the staff are very knowledgeable.Trust me, if I pay a little more than I would at the big box stores, its well worth it for my time, not to mention that Im purchasing exactly what I needed to avoid having to return afterward.And listen to this, I have sons in Cub Scouts, and when it came time for our Pack members to make the cuts to their pinewood derby cars, Twins Ace Hardware invited the Pack to the store, and supplied the machines and workers over a couple hour period to make sure each boy was happy with the shape of their cars. Just think of that! A retail store who wants to make your visit enjoyable and also wants to be active in the community! Who could ask for anything more?Youve completely won me over!

I called to ask if they had a trim puller in stock. I was told they had one, and that it would be reserved for me. I went to pick it up a couple hours thereafter, and none of the employees could locate it. The ordeal effectively wasted an hour of my Saturday.

I am new to this area, during moving process, the glass of my favorite painting was broken. I went to a couple of places to replace it. But they either told me the size was too large, (35”x35”) or gave me the price estimated around $150. Some friend introduced me ofTwins Ace, I went there, no problem, they kept my frame there for a couple of days. Now, the painting is on my wall again, and price was $25. Thank you so much for you excellent service.

Most likely the most knowledgeable and friendliest hardware staff that I have ever met. This is a cool little store with lots of cool stuff. Not many of these left anymore.

Ive shopped at this location on a number of occasions and found the staff to be helpful. However, as I stopped in today I didnt hear the manager speaking to me as I was entering the store. Apparently because I ignored him when I came in he felt the need to follow me around the store as if I was under suspicion of something. When I finally turned around and confronted him about being followed, rather than apologizing for making me uncomfortable he simply impied that I was rude and told me that I ignored him when i came in, and said that he was just trying to ask me if I needed help. It should have been obvious to him that I didnt need help when I tried walking away after I noticed him lurkomg, but that wasnt enough of a social cue for him. I understand wanting to make sure your customers know you are accessible if they need help, but practically chasing someone wearing headphones around a store so that you can essentially teach them a lesson in manners under the guise of offering help isnt the way to do it, and despite the fact that I live right up the street from this store, the managers behavior today was so off-putting to me that I will not be shopping there in the future.
