We finished our kitchen remodeling in June. The flooring and cabinets were purchased from Green building supply. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you to a great team at Green building supply!

We had a great visit to the showroom and worked with a helpful salesperson to pick out awesome natural wool carpet. Unfortunately we cannot find anyone in the area willing and able to install the carpet we have selected. I contacted Green Building Supply by phone and email numerous times but no one has responded with any suggestions. We are very disappointed as we spent a day driving out to the showroom and were excited about our selection only to discover that we wont be able to use it for a home a few hours away :(

We ordered ~250 ft² of the Silver Birch Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc and could not have had a better experience with the ordering, shipping, receiving and installing processes. The folks at Green Building Supply were fantastic. I ordered 6 or 7 samples and they were shipped very quickly. Once we knew what we wanted, we placed the order and received a refund for the samples. All this was done online. Green Building Supply provided excellent communication throughout the ordering and shipping process. We were prompted to call the local shipping company Green Building uses and we setup a delivery date. It was delivered right on time and in pristine condition. The product is amazing. It is extremely easy to install, other than a jigsaw and the occasional tap with a rubber mallet, thats pretty much all I needed. The seams are hardly visible in artificial lighting. When the sun is shining on it they are sort of noticeable but considering we had carpeting from the 70s in our kitchen its an enormous improvement. The best part is knowing that there are little to no VOCs especially with a little one running around and a baby on the way. Thank you to Green Building Supply, keep up the great work!

The cork flooring we bought had laminate issues right out of the package. Used the good ones but they started peeling. The owner had the nerve to say this was improper installation. Terrible.

Well still working on this project since January. I followed to the word all instructions on the can. Now, the treated areas 4 month later look dry and thirsty, mat finish. I decided to sand off those sad surfaces with a 320 grit. Just to cut the ridges off. And have a smooth surface (Im dealing with hard wood). I applied a 3rd coat of that oil to see. The result so far is encouraging. I am finally getting a Sheen a Depth in the finish and a presence. Probably a 4th application might make it perfect. I hope. Will keep you posted.About the star rating.... Well for now I am giving it 3 stars. I think the product is good but the instructions could be better. Or more honest. You cant get away with just 2 coats!I have 35 years in wood working.

Fantastic resource for those trying to build green and avoid harmful VOCs!Building our Passive House --- air tight, high levels of insulation, and managing IAQ --- meant seeking out building products that were both durable and environmentally friendly. Something thats still not easy to do close to home in local stores here in the Chicago suburbs.You can read about our project here:www [dot] kimchiandkraut [net]We used their M-1 sealant (black, white, and clear) for areas on our charred cedar siding as well as the interior of our home for wood trim and around bath fixtures.We also used several Safecoat products, including their Acrylacq in black for our kitchen cabinets, as well as their Concrete Paint for a splatter technique finish on our basement floor.I also used the Safecoat paint for my steel beam in the basement to great effect. In fact, my one regret is not using the Safecoat series of paints for all of my interior painting needs. Instead, I used Benjamin Moores pricey Aura line and was mostly disappointed in the lack of quality.If I was building again, I would definitely use their website even more. Cant recommend them enough! Keep up the great work!

The staff were wonderful and patient and answered my millions of questions without angst. The flooring I selected was Amorim Wise Waterproof Cork in Sprucwood. It is gorgeous. However, it is not as durable as the information provided from GBS made it sound. It dents very easy and does not spring back as I was told cork would. It also damaged very easily when my cabinets were being installed. Overall it looks and feels fantastic but I am worried about its longevity in a home with young kids. Only time will tell. 5 stars for the service but 3 stars for the product for an average of 4 stars here.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. One-stop shopping where you dont have to worry and conduct extensive scientific research on every product you look at? Sign me up! The work is already done for you. We are renovating our newly purchased home and I placed an order for bamboo flooring over the phone with Cynthia, whose patience and dedication to customer service are second to none. Renovations are pretty stressful, especially when youre trying to track down the healthiest products possible for a home with small children. Cynthia and Green Building Supply are making the process THAT much easier. I am a customer for life, without a doubt.

Online order was pretty much what I ordered. Good products, good price, could be faster on delivery.Edit: I should say that the Owner does have overnight shipping, I wasnt in a hurry to get the shipment so it wasnt a huge deal. I think Amazon just has me spoiled on free super fast delivery.

We love the Naturals Oil Wax Finish for our oak flooring. The finish is very natural with no shine at all but it is durable and does not stain with spills. It was easy to apply.

I am being continually prompted to give a review and I just received the flooring. It has not yet been installed and it is still in the boxes. I think the company needs to give there customers time to receive and install their products before requesting a review from them. My star rating does not reflect the product in any way. When the product is actually installed and being used I will be glad to post an accurate review.

I got my floor finish quickly. I had a question for customer service and I got a friendly and helpful response. The product went on easily and dried quickly (two coats). There was very little odor. It really brought out the grain in the wood. Im very satisfied with the result.

They have a great selection of non-toxic, quart stains and water sealants, exactly what I was looking for for my squirrel house project. I received a shipping notice the same day and it was delivered 2 days later, much faster than expected. The can was closed well, with additional metal clips, and wrapped well inside a plastic bag. Id definitely recommend ordering from them if you are in the market for eco friendly products.

I spent a lot of time on the phone with Cynthia discussing flooring options and the particular needs for our home in Vermont. She was extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable and super helpful. In the end because of potential installation complications and the requirements of the installer we had to purchase the product through the installer but that doesnt take anything away from the incredible support provided by Cynthia

I received my samples and they were a nice size so that I can visualize what my floors would look like. The quality looks and feels great. I am still in the planning stage and cant wait to see all my floors done.

Green Building Supply paint shipped in packing peanuts. Totally sticking to everything due to dry weather static and of course not a very environmentally friendly way to pack. You can do better

I have enjoyed the presence of the store for quite some time, but recently came to be especially appreciative of their American Clay product. My sister and daughters first saw it in the story, and recommended that I go in and look at it. I was quite taken with the qualities presented by the display. It comes across as very natural, very soft, very calming. It took me awhile to get into how to properly apply the clay but after I and the daughters worked a few hours we got it. (Yes, I finally watched the helpful video of how to apply the clay. I hate taking directions. ha..ha.. ) Once we began to enjoy applying the clay, and then the appearance we decided to expand the area to be covered. We ended up doing the entire room and then moved to an important stand-alone wall in our main floor. The wall became so stunning that we put in additional lights to show it off, as well as a new beautiful painting of a 17th Century woman standing against the clay wall. Of course the people of the store and the values they represent are wonderful, but most of you know this, thus I wont bore you with my high regard for them.

We got our delivery with no issue... My contractor thanked me profusely for getting such quality flooring. Hes used to putting down vinyl click flooring and said its a pain. He had never used Marmoleum before and he said it went down so smoothly. We havent moved in yet, but are very pleased with the way it looks in our new kitchen! **Edited to add (Jan 2020): We have lived in our house about 6 months, so I thought Id update. Do I love the Marmoleum? No. It gouges/scratches so easily. Im glad we dont have pets because I can only imagine the damage claws would cause. I was under the impression that it would be more durable. It shows every speck of dirt, drop of water, etc. (we got the Walnut Brown color)... I clean the floor multiple times a day - which is a pain. The only redeeming quality I have about it is that its smooth and I appreciate the natural materials as I really dont care for the toxic elements of vinyl.

Although I only ordered an adhesive from Green Building, I was ecstatic with the product. Being one of those people who is very sensitive to chemicals and chemical fumes, this adhesive was just what I wanted! It had almost no odor at all and I applied it to tile in the dead of winter with only a small crack in a window. The service is fast and efficient; I will definitely do business with Green again!

This product doesnt produce any color - we tried on several wood species samples both pre-finished and unfinished. Its nothing like the white samples shown online.

I have only ordered samples yet and they shipped very quickly! I love the selection of sustainable hardwood flooring. The staff has been very friendly and knowledgable. My only suggestion would be to ensure that the measurements on the website are accurate. I ordered a few samples which were thicker in reality than stated on the website. It would also be nice to see the pricing and to place a flooring order on the website including flooring & moldings. It was much easier for me to get online quotes from other competitors without calling customer service.

Since we began renovations last fall, we have been doing business with GBS. Every order has been received in a timely manner. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. And the one time there was an error, they took care of it so quickly and efficiently that I hardly had time to blink! The GBS folks were very helpful and easy to deal with.The first coat of sealer was not sufficient on my brand new slab, so I reapplied. Second times a charm and it seems to have done the job.I havent noticed water actually beading up yet, but it does not darken the concrete like before.Very happy to use a GREEN product for my patio.

Update: Green Building Supply has now refunded the duplicate charge. Still frustrated that the third party vendor had to make those arrangements and Green Building Supply did not cooperate when I asked for help initially...I ordered some samples through a third party vendor then was billed twice by both the third party and Green Building Supply. Green Building Supply refused to help correct the double billing error, Im still hoping the third party vendor can make some arrangement. I loved the samples and intend to purchase the product but wont be ordering through Green Building Supply. 2 stars only because they responded to the emails, even though they wouldnt help, and I really like the product.

Great customer service - spoke with someone over the phone before making a major purchase of a large rug. Rug was delivered on time and the product exceeded our expectations. No odor, attractive and appears to be well made. Would have preferred to rate the experience 4.5 stars vs 5 due to the fact that the rug pad came in multiple pieces (3) that needed to be placed like puzzle pieces to cover the surface area needed. Area needing coverage was 10 x 12 so although large, still a standard size.

Would have appreciated directions to be included in sample size of granite sealer. Product worked well. Smell present but not overpowering or too offensive. Water drops now beading on surface of granite after one application. Hopefully it lasts 15 years...Update 11/9/16: called showroom and spoke with incredibly knowledgeable and helpful employee. Highly recommend touching base with the store to learn how to correctly apply and get tips.

I only order via Internet. Always get good zero VOC paints and primers from GBS. They worked hard to track down special color recently. Now, if I just could find the time to paint that room!

I received my order of the 3 different cleaners in a huge mess!There was powder around my box on my steps! When I finally opened the box outside everything was covered with powder. As I inspected the contents I found one of the 3 containers completely cracked open. I could barely get to the papers because of the powder! So I called to report the damage. I was asked to take pictures of the damage and if there was any packaging in my order. I sent them and responded with the fact that there was no packaging to protect the containers. I was in contact with Sasha who said she would send out the one that was broken. I was a little aggravated with this because I was going to have to clean up the rest of the order! So when I had to take the package to the basement, as to not make a huge disaster in my kitchen, I found the other 2 items were broken also!I emailed Sasha to let her know. She asked for more photos. I sent them to her. She said she was unable to see the break in one container so she was only going to send the one she could see the crack in. Now I’m extremely annoyed! I am not making this up! It was in no way my fault for this and I’m being questioned about my findings! I sent another picture with marks showing where the container had it’s bottom punched in. She said she couldn’t see it because it was the indentation that’s punched in and would not be sending that container. I didn’t feel like I should have to clean up an order of almost $60 for 3 cleaning products!!! Now I’m going to have one container with a crack in the bottom! I emailed her back to inform her that I would just send it all back because I was aggravated with this entire experience!She then informed me she could send it out if I still want it.I feel I should have been sent a return label for the damaged box and an entire new order sent out!I’m so aggravated with this I don’t know if I’ll ever use this!Karla

Using this primer as a water stain block on a 50year-old plaster ceiling--no smell :), and it seems to cover, but will need a 2nd coat. Will definitely purchase from this business again.

I have always used a different product that I can no longer find. I came across Blissfully Clean and decided to try it. I clean homes and there is one in particular that I have tried so many products to try to remove the dripping streaks on their stainless steel fridge. I got so excited when I was able to get it cleaned that I had to text the homeowner and share my excitement with her. I know, I am a clean freak!! Would highly recommend this product. I was really surprised when I received a call from Green Building to further explain how this product works and was given a sample of the scrubbers.

I called Green Building Supply and asked about a maple stain. The woman I spoke to told me it was a discontinued product. She never mentioned trying a sample first. I bought a gallon and a quart.The stain came quickly and my husband tried it on a piece of wood. Wow!! The color was horrible! It looked like bright orange water. There was no way it was anything like a maple stain!I called the company (same girl)and asked about returning both the gallon and the quart. I was told that once the gallon was opened, I could not return it and I had to pay to return the quart. I was going to order another stain but not after that! No way!I am going with another green product that is made in Vermont and the colors are true and look like maple not orangeade.Very disappointed!

The shipment arrived quickly. The wood is beautiful and was easy to install. However, we had several damaged boxes (probably from a fork lift in shipping, may not be company related). A lot of the pieces where destroyed and not able to be used. Fortunately I ordered extra and we had enough to complete the job.
