Jim was extremely helpful with both my nitro and electric Traxxas cars. He really took the time to make sure I was buying the right parts. What wasnt available, he was happy to order. If youre a hobbyist, this is the palce.

Friendly staff Nice selection

I used to come here for a lot of model railroading items, even though selection was limited. I tried to return an unopened mint condition item with their tag on. They said it wasn’t in the system so I couldn’t get store credit. What happened to the customer is always right?I won’t shop here anymore and would rather drive further or order on Internet shopping markets to get what I need.

I love Hobbytown just got a Axial scx10 II blazer and I love it great advice and prices they even host rc related events if your into hobby grade RC or trains or anything thats fun just go and check it out. Full line of Traxxas vehicles and parts.

Great store! Love the selection and owner! But the young girl who was wrapping presents with glasses is not very friendly. She kept rolling her eyes and making snotty comments after we nicely asked her if she could wrap the two presents individually. No holiday cheer and I was not happy with her customer service, I don’t think this type of person belongs working at a children’s toy store.... 😕

Horrible experience with a return. My daughter wanted to buy me a new engine for fathers day and the owner of the store sold her the most expensive 4 stroke OS has to offer in the size I was looking for. I went there with receipt before receiving engine and the store owner wanted a 15% restocking fee. After complaining he agreed to 10% restocking fee.He could have recommended a similar engine for half the price but sold my daughter the most expensive motor in that size. Completely unethical in my opinion. Charging me the restocking fee was insult to injury.Watch your wallet if you shop at this chain store. A complaint to corporate went nowhere. Stores are locally owned and operated. You are on your own.

Overall nice store with good variety. However Im pretty disappointed in the experience. Bought a $400 traxxis vehicle for my sons birthday. Charger went bad. Store did not have part, could not replace. Waited a week to receive from manufacturer. Now the receiver goes bad. Called the store to ask to return the entire vehicle and exchange. They refused because my son used the car the first day.Overall very disappointed they would not take back this defective product and exchange for a new one. Going on three weeks my son still cant use this $400 dust collector. Very bad experience.

Went in and didnt wanna leave. They have the Traxxas RC cars. This one also is a Radio Shack Express stop which makes this even more useful. If you are looking for presents during the holidays here is a definite place to hit. I will be going here.I want to find stuff to do with my neice that influence her mind more. So trust.... We will be having projects to do together. Im starting with kites, next rockets, then electric projects. Its on.

The staff was very helpful, and even gave my son a complementary gift after discovering he was into Pokemon.

Wont go there again the employees made me feel like i was doing something wrong they asked if i needed help both of them i said no just browsing for the moment ok 3 mins later you need help no still looking in the case then other worker comes from were the other was you need help still looking. I felt like saying im tall n tattooed im not steeling nor will i shake my head they did lose about $800 do to that seeing i went in for a boat and rc truck or two

The store has changed ... more emphasis on toys, and theyre prices are very high. They do have a fair amount of hobby gear like drones and RC vehicles, but the prices are astronomical. Theyre also selling fidget spinners for $20! Claiming theyre the better brand because they have high quality bearings - come on! Its a fad toy! Sad theyre trying to sucker parents into spending $20 on something thats $5 at Walmart!

Went there (20 miles away - the closest hobbytown) to buy a Blade 70s RC helicopter. Once I got home, I realized the item is not new, the blades had scratches, the instruction manual had marks. Went there today early morning and the guy was like We only sell brand new items. Then I showed him the marks and then the manager shows up and says, We tested this because manufactures wanted us to test it. Really ? These guys need to know the difference between NEW and OPEN BOX. Definitely would not visit the place again.REPLY :Yes, I used it assuming I purchased the BRAND NEW item. Dude, so you guys are telling me, you guys unscrew the controller, scratch the blades, read the instruction manual like any of the user and box it and put it back and sell it as a BRAND NEW item ? And you are telling me like its the manufacturers requirement to test the items and sell it ? Are you guys kidding ?

A great place to get tools for modeling and toys for kids.

Its because this store is located more than likely in a super hi rent district, one of the most counties in the entire country (Fairfield ) as everyone who shops here knows pays exhoratant taxes where people with money (cash) on hand spend freely for the most part dont care what it costs. I live in very lower Litchfield county with a Hobbytown and find the prices more than reasonable and majority of my purchases are special order 1:32 scale Trumpeter, Tamiya, & Haseqawa airplanes which are expensive to begin with and the owner tries as hard as he can to match on line prices. I want him to succeed since Im not big into mail order such expensive items. The one I did came damaged via USPS I think despite the box showing no signs of abuse. It took weeks to get the damage parts replaced.Lastly (all) supplies come from this store and let me tell you its close to a thousand dollars a year.To wit not Hobbytown related but I worked at a high end picture frame art gallery in Stamford where our rent for a 7500 square foot store was nearly $18,000.00 a month with 10 full time employees. Using ones imagination think of what a standard size 18 x 24 frame costs with a double mat, glass, frame & labor. We never had one customer complain, ask for a discount or barter they paid the price walked out and continually returned why because of our knowledge, skills, years of being in the field and lastly superior customer service which Im more than sure the Fairfield Hobbytown offers all its customers.

Went in looking for N-scale Atlas track. Selection was almost non-existent.

Over the past 2 years I have ordered parts for the rc cars that I have at this store. Paid for them ahead of time which is store policy and they have screwed up the orders 3 times. I dont order anything from them anymore. Today I called them up to see if they had a part in stock and they told me they did. i drive the 10 miles to their store to find out that they dont have the part. They apologized but I will not do anymore business with them. I dont have time to spend with this store.

This is the only HobbyTown that I have been to that does not have anything for rock crawlers. This place should just call themselves a toystore as their inventory is composed mostly of toys. Prices are steep.

I needed a product for bonding plastic for a work project. I needed it ASAP so I went online to search Lowes. They listed the product but it was unavailable in any of their stores all the way from Cromwell to Milford. I then searched Home Depot and local hardware stores to no avail. Finally I called Hobbytown in Fairfield CT and they knew exactly what I needed and had it in stock. THANK YOU HOBBYTOWN!
