Best ice cream place in Fairfield. The ice cream is so reasonably priced and delicious! The owner was so kind and took the time to have conversations with my little ones which I thought was so sweet :-) . We will be back for sure!

If I could have put zero stars I would have. I don’t ever normally write reviews but the customer service here was absolutely atrocious. Today, Al, the owner, yelled at one of his younger employees and reprimanded him in front of others. The young man was so kind and helpful and he yelled at him saying, “You’ve been working here for how long and you dont know where this is?” My wife told him that he should not treat his employees this way in front of customers because it is not respectful nor does it create a comfortable atmosphere. He then began yelling at HER. He told her, “I was CEO of many companies and who are you?” and began throwing around various other insults. She remained calm and simply stated that it didnt matter who she was, people should not be treated differently because of their status. He continued to raise his voice and almost stare her down, taunting her and daring her to write a bad review. Shouldn’t have even left with the ice-cream. A bully if I’ve ever seen one. Makes you wonder how he treats the kids when no one is around. Probably won’t be going back anytime soon. It is unfortunate because his young employees were very sweet and rather defenseless. I would strongly advise to take your business elsewhere. It certainly put a damper on our evening to see how awfully some people treat others just because they can. Ice cream was mediocre and shop is not very clean either.

Ive been to them 3 times over the last 4 or 5 months but I wont be back. The candy is consistently hard and stale. They say they get new candy every week but who knows if they take care to throw out leftover candies rather than just adding more into the bin.

Was going to stop in and get some ice cream, but they had a big sign out front saying theyre in favor of kids catching Covid and dying. Pass them by.

Love this place and love the staff as well. Only did four stars because I wish it were a touch cheaper. (Or add a tiny kiddie cup size for cheaper perhaps??) But we love it. Our favorite local ice cream shop for sure!

Keep your politics out of the kids candy/ice cream ! Not good for business.

My family and I have been here many times, however the last time I visited to the store the owner was very rude. Based on how I was treated I will not be coming back.

Sadly have not been able to try this place due to their poor customer service. Drove by one day and saw they have a waffle stand so we called and asked what time it is open. The staff didnt have an answer and then after being on hold they told us the dates which included that same day from ‘roughly 2pm until whenever they feel like closing it’ EXCEPT for that same day we were calling - when we asked why they had the waffle stand closed that day they said they ‘just because we dont feel like it today’... ok. Tried to go back numerous times on weekend afternoons to still find the waffle stand closed. Fast forward a few weeks when we wanted to go for ice cream - apple maps and google have two completely different sets of hours of operations for this business. None the less we went in the evening around 7:30pm (apple maps says they close at 8pm, google says 9pm so we thought 7:30pm would be a safe bet) but the shop was closed none the less.Poorly run business. My advice is try your luck anywhere else but here - its not worth the headache for ice cream and waffles.

Where else, outside Brooklyn, can you get a real egg cream with U-Bets chocolate syrup, and possibly be made by a Brooklyner? (Mine was!) Here!

Do NOT buy the candy. It was all very old and probably hasnt been switched out since before quarantine started. Shared it with my family and we were all very sick within the hour. Ice cream is great though

Ice creams pretty good, but the candy is so expensive. I mean really, why is it $10 for a pound of candy? I’d settle for $7, and I’m sure they would get a lot more customers if it was that much. Other than that really good, and I still recommend it.

Wow, Im impressed. My previous favorite ice cream spot was Sweet Ashleys in Norwalk but this place just knocked it out of first place. The mud pie was incredible, great flavor without being overdone and perfect consistency. The perfect place to go after hitting up Firehouse Deli next door.

Very friendly staff but their waffle shark is a rip off! $5 for a tiny undercooked waffle. my son couldnt eat it.Marks my first and last time there.

I called twice to this location during quarantine and today and both times I had an unpleasant phone conversation. I usually go to the location in Westport and even before covid I would always call ahead of time and have them pre-pack my order. They never had an issue to pre-pack it at the Westport location but it seems like the Fairfield staff has a problem to do so. The first time I called it was during the lock down in which I asked if they were doing curbside pick up and the young man answered me that they weren’t that I can just come in....I was not going inside during the peak of a pandemic. I called today and the older man picked up this time and was very dry when telling me I had to come in instead of me placing the order to pick it up. I just wanted it packed and ready so I can just pay and not have to wait for them to pre-pack my order. I find it very careless that they would want someone to stay in the store longer than they need to be especially during a pandemic. Also their website says they take orders for pick up but told me I had to come in. I rather just take the drive and go to the Westport location because there staff is a lot more friendlier than the Fairfield staff.

Amazing ice cream and very friendly staff. Lots of candy options as well. The ice cream flavors change occasionally, which is good if you like variety. Milkshakes are great here too and they have lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

The ice cream here is delicious and they have so many cool and unusual flavors! Plus candy and chocolate too. Kind of retro, which makes it more inviting.

Great place. They serve Longfords ice cream which is what I grew up with and is excellent. Very friendly staff. We come here a little too often when it is warm out.

Best ice cream shop in Connecticut. The flavors are out of this world good. Favorites include caramel sea salt oreo, Grand Slam, cannoli, and nutella chip. Al is the nicest guy in town, and the servers are always friendly and attentive.The only downside is to my waist line.

Whether it is in Saugatuck/Westport or in Fairfield, Saugatuck Sweets is unrivaled! Super service, BIG scoops (in fact, I’d suggest they add a kiddie size to the menu for the little little kids), and nice place to sit outside!
