Had known about the place for a while but never bothered to try and yesterday i finally gave in. i got both of their vegan ice creams, chocolate chunk and classic cookie. was not expecting their scoop sizes to be that big lol. nevertheless, i finished them both happily. both the ice creams were rich in flavour and oh so smooth. i especially liked the chocolate chunk. my buddies got their Doughnut Touch My Coffees and Cream and Salted Caramel Cheesecake and they were going on about how good they were! they got the 16oz jar and couldn’t finish at all. also, you get to keep your jar! we all walked out so happy. the staff were so kind and so pretty!
Jazzlyn the manager was AMAZING. She handled our soccer team with great customer, as we bombarded her at 12 p.m. on a Sunday when they had just opened. She made EVERY order with a smile and made sure they the tram had a GREAT Yard Milkshake Bar experience!!
Delicious ice cream friendly staff clean store and restrooms.
Damn right its better than yours.
Great customer service, bringing shakes to you outside. A little on the pricey side, but it’s an experience and you get to keep your glass. They have a wash tin to wash off all the glasses. I loved my Full of Joy, it was just like an almond joy milkshake! I love dark chocolate and coconut combined. Definitely share if you can both agree on a flavor.
Very good treats! Super rich. Also really expensive! Its one of those paying for the novel experience deals. I had a slice of cheesecake on top of my milkshake! I mean, who does that?! These guys. Thats who.
The milkshakes are a work of art! The staff was friendly and there was no line when we went. The outdoor seating area was very nice. The edible cookie dough is very flour heavy in taste. Would not order the cookie dough again, but the shakes and bowls were phenomenal.
The ice cream was phenomenal. Got the impression we were bothering the two girls who served us though. Mark Cuban are you listening?
Second visit to one of these treasures! Thanks to covid, it was a different experience..but they NEVER disappoint we could order it inside, but had to eat it outside..we slurped it as quickly as we could in 90 degree weather...we found its best for now to drinkit instead of scooping it ! We are forever fans!❤
Loved the one in Atlanta. Went out of our way to visit this one. Closed at 3:30 pm. July 16th
Very pricey, but very worth it for the size. Cute atmosphere as well!
Fairhope Location: The general manager, Abby, is quite possibly the rudest person I have come in contact with. We walked in at 8:01, open sign was on, doors open, store full of people. Tried to get a milkshake and she refused to serve us because she said she had a long drive home and had been busy for the last hour. After talking to her about the open sign on and doors open, she proceeded to tell us it is not her fault we came in late. Serving my 7 and 4 year old would have taken a total of 5 min from either her or the other employee there. In a time when small businesses are closing down everywhere in America, I would think that having a busy night would be a blessing and not a burden!
Honest review here. Great family spot. A groovy laid back atmosphere. Translation, don’t be in a hurry. These custom ice creams and shakes take time to prepare! Everything on the menu is an adventure for the eyes and is completely delicious. Come hungry, and bring cash! Not cheap, no credit cards, but well worth the coin.
Best place ever had two mermaids they were absolutely amazing
Customer service was terrible, the cookies were stale, the shakes tasted not great and the ladies attitude was terrible 🙄
Great ice cream and very well presented. Facility restroom not very clean and could use some upkeep but other than that good experience.
This Milkshake Bar is so awesome! I live in Semmes, AL and I drove all the way for my milkshake. Be careful.. you might get a sugar load lol. But if you do go, be prepared for it to be a bit pricey. The employees are so nice and are great at their job. Over all I love it.. even though my mom thinks its too much 🤣
The first time eating there it was great I love the banana split in the jar.
Amazing shakes, sundaes, and scoops plus edible cookie dough!!
My friend went there with our group and she has a peanut allergy. lady was very kind at first and said each person gets their own scoop to prevent cross contamination, but then she went and used the same scoop for every person’s ice cream when other people within the group got peanut butter. luckily they made her ice cream first!! then they made a smart comment saying “if people have allergies like that we typically send them out the door because we don’t have time for that.” HOW RUDE?? our group was the only people in there so they had time to take precautions instead of being lazy. if you’re going to run a business, with food, you should be prepared to deal with allergies in a professional manner.
Ice cream was delicious. Line was sooo long. I understand that. But they only had 1 register open. While we were waiting to get our dessert we went into the gift shop & decided to purchase 2_ T- shirts. Had to get back in line so we left. They lost about $59-60.00 in sales which Im sure they could have used. Great place
They need more help service is terrible, walked in went to the lady behind the counter didnt even acknowledge us, stood there a second person walked out and started helping people that came in after us,will never go there again
Good one time experience.Tasty. Some flexibility in choices.PRICEY!!
Buyer beware! We drove 20 miles to downtown Fairhope as we love the shops and Yard Milkshake Bar. My favorite treat is the peanut butter cookie dough with m&ms. Nothing was available except some unappealing concoction with vanilla wafers! Get rid of your inventory control person!
Great place huge selection!!
Good ice cream, great for visitors, service tends to be inconsistent.
Great ice cream, but can u go wrong with ice cream
Absolutely huge milkshakes. While this will be a high dollar milkshake, I recommend one shake for 2 people. And they have a few calories, worth it, but be warned. And you cant go wrong with whatever you order.
We went in today to get the hocus pocus shake and the only thing that was edible was the ice cream. The brownie was stale and had absolutely no flavor, it actually had a horrible taste. The cookie dough was horrible. We spent $41 dollars on 2 shakes and a specialty cup, and the specialty cup was the only thing that was actually really good. I hated that we had such a horrible experience, because it’s my nieces favorite place to go to celebrate events. Thankfully hers was the specialty cup that actually tasted good. I have no doubt we will be back, but I will only be getting ice cream from this point forward.
The concept is great. But the service is too slow.
I got a strawberry shortcake milkshake, which was good, but my son got the unicorn milkshake which tasted like a lavender air freshener. Also, these things are so expensive - about $15 each. We ate outside and flies were everywhere. Go to experience it if you must, but it is mostly food perversion for the morbidly obese.
Delicious ice cream. Been to the one in Gulf Shores lots of times. Didn’t mind waiting because the ice cream was amazing. But went to the one in fairhope this time bc my elderly grandmother wanted ice cream. I knew she’d love this place. Well I go in and a mother and her children are still deciding on what ice cream they want. Not even in front of the register. Just off to the side deciding. Well the cashier informed me she had to wait for them to decide before she took my order (mine you, it was only for my grandmother and I already knew what I wanted). The cashier was just chilling on her phone. Could’ve taken my order already and started. But she wanted to be lazy. Terrible customer service. I’ll never be back here.
Clean, friendly and great ice cream
Excellent ice cream. Beautiful outdoor seating. In the scenic town of Fairhope.
Its milkshakes done completely over the top. They taste like milkshakes and look like a four year olds daydream doodles. Its an experience but nothing I have to go back to. I cant imagine spending that kind of money for something more than once. If youve got kids this is a great place for them to make a little mess and have a great time.
Amazing. Well worth the time to stop. Highly recommended looking up the menus before you arriving where the ordering process goes smoother and faster. How it works: when you come in to your left is the menus(3 to choose from) with wax pencils, mark your shake, proceed forward to the cashier, hand the menu over and they will give you a number, pay, and find a seat. They bring the shake out to you. Seating inside is very limited but you have outside seating. The pint size is shareable.
Try not to go overboard. They offer large servings.
Very interesting place with very good milkshakes. It is very expensive for a family. Dont let them put your milkshakes in glass jars - they will charge you for the jar! Ask for it in a cup!
Amazing milk shakes that you have to see and taste to believe!! They ice cream cones as well!!
Fun and different. Tasty, but too pricey. Was glad we went though!
What a bummer. We ordered and were told that we would have to wait 20 minutes for the milkshake. Nearly 40 minutes we patiently waited only to find out our order was lost . We ended up just asking for a refund and leaving . The place was clearly understaffed and was packed with people waiting 20-30 minutes for ice cream . I should think a few extra employees to ensure that orders are correctly made, come out in a timely fashion, and the napkin dispensers were filled would be worth while for management to consider.
My sister and I tried this place out and it was quite nice. It wasnt too busy when we arrived and we had our milkshakes within about 15 minutes of ordering. We ordered our shakes in the souvenir mason jars and they looked awesome. Overall, a very intersting experience. I would recommend those with a sweet tooth to try it if youre in the area.
My family was really wowed by the pretty milkshakes, I thought the price tag would reflect that. We bought the 13 dollar milkshakes and were sadly disappointed. While they might look nice, the quality wasnt there and they were pretty watery/melted. Not thick at all. Your better off heading to the nearest sonic.
Very Good but very expensive
This is amazing delicious. Had the mint green monster filled 4 of us up. Probably gained 10 pounds but totally worth it… Will definitely be back.
Great and good price
Great place to get a large milkshake. The service is not too shabby, but it can get crowded quick. I love the jars they serve the shake in, and they have at the very least forty flavors.
Icecream was good. Cool idea very over the top. But bathrooms were nasty.
25 min wait in line, no menus, just loud music & people yelling over the music to talk to each other. Very few allergy free selections for a $14 milkshake. Looking around, sticking to the floor I notice no one is smiling, not customers, not the 5 people working behind the counter. We ordered a pint Sourberry Lemonade: lemon sorbet, dairy free whipped topping, nerd rope, strawberry lined glass & sour patch kids. We waited 35 minutes for this milkshake, while 6 customers who came in after us were served. We tried sitting outside but the cigarette smoke was overwhelming, forced to sit inside an overcrowded, super sticky & extremely loud store. We were finally served our milkshake, only it was completely melted & hardly even cold. The nerd rope was less than 4 inches long, hardly a rope & topped with 4 sour patch kids. I seriously paid $14 & tipped $2 cash for this? We will never stray from Mr. Gene’s Beans again.1 hour + $16 = a very sad little melted mess.
Dont believe what those losers are telling you! This place is amazing. We arrived just in time! They are on the pricey side of course. But, for the experience it was worth every nickel. We got three quart size monster milkshakes and I kid you not, they were the best and even better than I could have imagined. You cant make this up!
Employees never said a word to us the whole time in there. We stood there at the counter looking at them attempting to order, none even acknowledged us for a good 3 or 4 minutes until I finally asked, are we at the wrong counter to order? Although they did look impressive, I essentially paid $30 (including tip) for basically two watered down milkshakes with pretty toppings on top.
I gotta stop going there. Its just to good, so many choices.
When can we get this in Texas!?
The shakes are amazing and the help is nice for the amount of customers they get. It’s a great place to sit in although you have the option to take it elsewhere. (It’s moreover sit in by nature) Great place, great food, and proportionally good service for working with just high schoolers.
The shakes were delicious and the service was good for how busy they were. For the people reading this, if there’s a long line it’s worth the wait. The manager tonight 07/13 however was very rude. I offered a suggestion after complimenting the shakes and after I told her my suggestion she turned and walked away. But when she turned around I heard her say she don’t give a F***. My mind was blown. Not sure if she meant to say it that loud or not but she did. And now she knows that I did hear her say that if she reads this. Other than that, it was a good experience. I’ll be back for another shake next summer.
Beautiful place and the milkshakes were phenomenal! The staff was exceptional as well. Definitely will go again!
Delicious every time
Icecream is always great, service could be friendlier. Needs to be cleaned.
This place is the second location. The first is in Gulf shores/ Orange Beach. The milkshakes are so creative and absolutely delicious. Check it out. The menu is designed so you can customize your order or just choose a premade speciality. The jar is $13 and you get to keep it. Or choose a cup for $6. Its whats inside that matters most. There are some differences in both locations but they are not worth mentioning. Get a milk shake from the Yard, you wont regret it. That bacon and waffle, so so good!
The ice cream was good, but its very overrated. The extras that come on the milkshake did not taste good, it made the milkshake look cool but it was a waste.
Very expensive!!
Ordered shakes yesterday (5/14) and staff was consistently helpful, informative, and sweet even though they were clearly very busy. Shakes are worth the wait and I will return!
Fabulous!
Over priced... but a good idea for dates or those days you really want to treat yourself. The staff was okay. Instead of explaining the process they gave us menus and walked away.
It was great
Sunday 14th 7:30 I have truly never seen a dirtier food establishment. Ice cream spill/puddles left all over the cases....no attempt to wipe them up. Dirty tables, and WORST of all was the floor behind the counter. Looked like days of trodden in chocolate, ice cream, cones etc. Looked like that floor had not been cleaned in a week.I saw no health department score sheet ? Staff looked and acted like they were heading to the gallows to be hanged !!My friend and I will not be back.
Posted hours were until 9pm today, but upon arrival at 7:45 we were informed that they were closing at 8 today and because there were 4 milkshakes already on ordered, she would not serve us or the family in front of us. NOT OK.
Lots of menu items to choose from. Will meet your needs if you have a sweet tooth.
