Cant stop coming back here. First bought a guinea pig, healthy and happy, and now Im addicted to their fish. Very knowledgeable staff and the healthiest animals Ive seen available to public. Be prepared to spend a little more than at a chain store, but the quality and peace of mind regarding animal care is well worth it. They can also order in any aquatics youd need from their own reputable breeders, and the owners often will personally hand pick the selections rather than bulk order.

Animal Instincts is hands down one of the best pet supply stores in the area. We have gotten two amazing Viper Geckos from them and food for our Bearded Dragons at least twice a week. Everyone is helpful and willing to share their knowledge with you. Highly recommended.

Horrible place. I had 2 birds die in less than a month of each purchase. They had no compassion whatsoever. I was even asked for the bodies and receipts. The first bird was buried and of course I didn’t have the receipt we had the bird 3 weeks at that point . I still went back and brought another bird because pet smart didn’t have any going against my better judgment I got another one from here . Low and behold it dies also… I find it hard to believe it’s only the birds brought from this store that died . I could have been offered points, treats etc because I definitely wouldn’t want another pet from here . The girl in the store had an attitude because I asked for some credit or something since it’s happened twice . Maybe their system should show what was purchased when your number is entered like other places. Highly recommend NOT buying from here ESPECIALLY birds..

I highly reccomend this shop.After looking for a crested gecko for awhile I was told to check this shop out. Very helpful staff!!! The shop is set up nice and not to mention their prices are extremely reasonable. First place I had been to that I did not feel I was being ripped off. Their geckos were all adorable .. Although I ended up falling inlove with one of their adopted babies . pic of my baby Luna who is doing amazing!

Very over priced on everything I looked at.one girl worked hard to help the customers while the other two employees just talked. Five of the rudest people in FR happened to stroll in while I was there, between talking extremely loudly over each other, and arguing about whos missing more teeth out soundly like they rented the apartments behind the store and the store owner was their landlord. (I could of heard that wrong though as I was distracted by the heavy odor of alcohol coming off them. Did I mention it was a Tuesday at 10:30am?)

Ive been coming here for 29 years. Great place to come for Freshwater, Saltwater, or Small Animal needs. Also a great supply of dog and cat food. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Bob the owner is Awesome! Dont hesitate to give them a visit, you wont be sorry.

Its about time I leave this review . My absolute favorite local shop to go to for my pet needs whether that be my snake or my salt water aquarium . Ive gotten to know the employees pretty well, especially Shane in the fish section . He cares about quality rather than just selling items . He convinced me not to buy something because it wasnt quality . Extremely knowledgeable guy and extremely helpful for getting me back into the hobby again .

Ive went here for as long as i can remember. For my snakes and geckos. The Owner and staff are amazing and have great knowledge of anything you need to know. Even after moving to NH i will still travel back just to support this store and see the changes:)

They carry hard to find dog food. Also they have a great reptile room. Also a good frequent shopper program.

Conflicting information from staff on setting up a new pet habitat and needed supplies. Prices are super high... $89 here vs $39 at Pet$mart for the same pet. 3 weeks in and a dying pet because 3 workers have all told us different things about what we need and how the others are wrong.

I absolutely LOVE this little store! I go in here every couple days for crickets and they are super helpful and always in a great mood. The gentleman thats usually in back with the fish is one of my sons favorite people ever lol. The ignorant woman with the glasses (Paula) is the soul reason the store is terrible. She’s a miserable woman with nothing going for her in life so she takes it out at her job. I will never spend another dollar in this garbage store establishment ever again. With that being said i highly recommend aquastetics on east main street in fall river! A lot friendlier service, immensely more well kept fish and no ignorant harlequin to insult customers that spend 100$+ weekly in that god awful basement

Me and my boyfriend have been going here RELIGIOUSLY for a year and a half now and even before we met we both came here for all our pet needs, just recently I purchased fish from them that died within 24 hours i asked for a refund or new fish and got told no. Me and my boyfriend spent thousands in this store we even have given plants & fish to them FOR FREE !! I purchased a fish tank that i over payed for seeing as tho it was used & also couldn’t return that after 1 hour of purchase. the women who runs that place has ZERO customer service skills & i cant name a person who likes her thats met her . extremely rude.. never the less we have always returned until today!!

They offer much more than just a place to buy your dog food, they give great advice and are happy to help best they can. They work hard and offer a great selection for freshwater and marine fish and are always have plenty of dry goods in stock for whatever you may need. Shop small and support your local businesses!

Been going for years. The owner is passionate for his field. The animals are well taken care of and the information available is top notch! They have a great team over there. That being said some things can be pricy depending on what youre getting. Athough on the same token Ive also gotten some of the best deals ever here when it comes to taking care of my 2 snakes, lizard and cats. Hope this place stays around forever!

The staff was so friendly and helpful. We learned so much and got what we needed for our tree frog. They also taught us about how to enhance our fish bowls with real plants, snails and clams. We love visiting the store!

Very knowledgeable staff can help any beginner start an aquarium. They have better prices and a better selection than the corporate guys. I have never had someone answer so many questions so easily and factually qith any purchase anywhere. They also help with water testing and help you find the proper treatments for you. With regular visits and water testing that is free there you will be sure to succeed in whatever venture you may choose. They have many other super cool pets as well. I have a finished basement that tends to stay cold and they have some awesome aquatic animals that actually prefer cold so I may be on my way to a second set up with their help! Super friendly super patient even if you have no aquarium knowledge they will take their time and help you and help you to understand everything you need to know to succeed.

Wish there was an option for 0 stars. This place is a joke. They have fish that they are charging 70$ for when you can get the same exact fish at Petco for 30$. Then they claim their fish are better quality but in my experience buying from them the poor fish died on the way home.

My family have been customers of Animal Instincts for years. Recently, I needed help with a new reptile pet for the family...i found all of their tanks and reptiles so beautiful, but not knowing much about these creatures, I asked for help choosing. The staff was amazing. They helped me to pick the best species that would be best with our children. We are so happy with our choice. Glad they were so knowledgeable and helpful with supplies needed. Prices were cheaper than the internet. You cannot beat dealing with a family owned and operated pet shop.

Those that work at Animal Instincts are always very polite and helpful. The shop always has a wide variety of fish and other aquarium dwellers, fresh and salt water. A big selection of birds and reptiles, as well as foods for all mentioned. A very neat place!

What a quaint little store! It is deceiving as you can actually walk all the way back and into the aquarium area, but make sure you do to see their large selection of fish. Great selections and nice staff!

Ive purchased two pet rats (and almost all of their needs) here and would recommend them for small animals. Both of my females came to me pretty well socialized out the gate, and continue to be the sweetest, most wonderful babies. Great stop for most of your pet needs, including high quality dog and cat foods, and the aquatics section here is large and well kept.

I have bought many pets through the years and I can say its been years that I have never had a problem. U cant get the same quality service in big retail pet supply store like Animals Instincts has to offer. I can not count the many time my children have been extremely HAPPY when they were growing up visiting there where the staff keeps the store well maintained and has always been very helpful. As well very kind to take the time to teach even myself every ASPECT of handling, daily care, diet and just the right compassion for every individual pet we have had apart of our FAMILY. That has been exactly what ANIMAL INSTINCTS is a FAMILY to mine and many that have walked throught those doors.

This is a great local shop! Every time I have been in the owner Acknowledges me. He has a wealth of info for the aquarium hobby. The lady who works in the fish area is great as well. I do shop at OSA in coventry for corals from time to time. However, I was really impressed today when I saw the new coral set up and colony set up they are doing. I have purchased some corals here in the past and will be back for more. All my fish have come from here and not one has had an issue. They are also great when it comes to buying RO and Salt water. I bought an awesome 3 head candy cane coral today and it looks awesome in my tank!

Owner doesnt stand by their customers. Pretty much called me a liar that my purchased Love Bird chewed or scratched its way out of a cheap happy meal type box that they put it in today.This may not have happened in the past but it did today! They decided Not to replace the bird Before I told them it was gone.I told them I would bring the box to them to see the hole. They are all about the mighty dollar and not customer service. Typical business in this day and age, but you would think a small mom and pop business would go beyond for their customers when big box stores have all but cornered every market with their many choices and better prices.Stick with the Big pet stores they at least stand by their customers.

Ive been going to animal insticts since my Teen years. I know the owner, his employees, and how well the business is operated. I STRONGLY advice and recommend animal instincts for knowledgeable staff, great prices, and a good selection of pets. If they dont have the type of pet your looking for Inn stock they work on finding it for you. Believe me when I say some of my pets Im super picky with. Like beta fish for example. Took me quite some time to find an exact match of color, and good health to find some of my fish but i found them at animal instincts. I could go on and on, but I promise you dont need to look elsewhere to find what your looking for. I definitely give them a thumbs up for their service!

Its a decent shop for general reptile and pet goods. The prices are okay something more expensive then others. Staff is okay mostly same faces.

Very disappointed in reptile staff. I sent my father there to pick up some live feed for my leopard gecko, and my dad ended up looking for a second opinion because my leopard gecko is just a baby and I also just got her. Leopard Geckos may I remind you only eat insects, my father has very little knowledge on that. She swore left and right that she has been feeding her leopard geckos this for there entire lives. Even claiming her leopard gecko lived on this and died at 16. The bag she ended up giving my father is a fruit based powder mixture. Ive noticed chewy also says this ok for leopard geckos but it is in fact not. Leopard geckos need live insects to hunt because of the lack of motion they do on a day to day basis. So if you go to this store and someone recommends you this for your leopard gecko. Dont take it because this bag is sure to make your gecko die do to starvation, because she or he will not touch a fruit based substance. I repeat leopard geckos eat insect, they are insectivores. Which means they only eat insects! So do not buy this product for your leopard geckos.

I know they try really hard and have typical reptile and bird supplies n feed. I didnt like seeing the bunnies and birds in the front window it hot unbearable heat with just a tiny fan to circulate the hot air.. The finches were all panting and I could barely stand there to pick a few to buy. I wanted a few of the cool looking finches, but only if I knew they were tended to, better than that.

They have awsome animals, I adopted my very first guinea pig from them. I loved it and now own 4. I buy my dog treats from there and they are the only treats she likes and will eat. The staff is very helpful and nice as well. Prices are reasonable. Shop here

I go there for two reasons. My dog and my fish pond. The staff have always been very helpful and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain pros and cons of the different varieties of dog food that exist in the world today and the reason why they stock the brands they do. Since switching from the run-of-the-mill dog food that I used to feed my best friend in life to the higher-quality ones that they stock, my best friend has had an increase in energy and a decrease of hot spots which he used to suffer from. As far as my fish pond goes, I had no idea of the importance of water chemistry until it was explained to me how fish react. After listening to what they had to say and getting the recommended products, the water in my pond has been clearer, the fish have appeared more vibrant in color. I occasionally bring samples of my pond water in to be check for levels of ammonia and nitrates If you dont know what those are and how they relate to the health of your fish, you are way overdue for a visit there.

Absolutely love these guys. Ive lived in the area all my life and never knew this place existed. Ive been shopping at only chain pet stores before discovering this place. The guys in the fish area are very knowledgeable and are very eager to help you make the best buy. Only store I think Ive been to twice in one day.

AMAZING!!!!👍👍 I happen to be going through Fall River early today and saw this pet shop and stopped in. Not expecting to buy anything just looking. He had every nano fish imaginable. Iv had the hardest time finding chili Rasbora online let alone in store. They looked ok in store but ounce I got home and put them in they are the best looking fish I have. Always a great experience here. They know what they are doing and someone is always there asking if they can help. The pets are very well taken care of and they offer a great variety of food. I take my bunny here to get his food and nails trimmed.

I was satisfied with the service I received. They took the time to answer my questions and didnt make me feel embarrassed even though Im a beginner with aquariums.Ive been having poor luck with two cleaner shrimp that Ive bought at other places, but I came here to try again and the cardinal and cleaner shrimp I bought are doing very well.I was pleased with how they talked to me and the knowledge all the employees have. Very welcoming place to go.It does feel like your going into a dark, creepy basement when you go into the back where the tanks are at, but that also adds kind of a cool atmosphere.

All animals are PROPERLY cared for. They have GREAT set ups, healthy, just enough animals in one cage NOT overcrowded, and tanks clean and well cared for everyday. Love this company! Fantastic service and really know what they are doing.
