This restaurant has been around for decades. There are photos on the wall that depicted throughout time. It was like stepping back in time to a 1950s diner. The food was spectacular. It was lunch time and I ordered my tuna fish sandwich with onions and tomato, and the chef made sure there was onion and tomato on every inch of the area on the sandwich. The tuna itself was fantastic. I actually congratulated the owner/Chef saying it was the best time to fish sandwich Ive ever had, even though it was only tuna fish it was amazing. The waitress was extremely friendly. Nice air conditioning, and plenty of seating. I definitely would come back again.

I walk by every day and say how I should stop in. I had the fish and chips with chowder. I even got malt vinegar to go with it. The chowder was creamy. I might try the seafood platter next. Be aware that if you use a cc or debit card there is a .60 charge, so best to have cash.

Food was horrible, cheese burger way too over cooked for medium well, chicken salad, dead iceberg lettuce grilled chicken & mayo no seasoning, bland. Fries were awful. They need a new cook. I wouldnt recommend.
This was the longest we ever waited for any meal. Must be new management or cook because it was the same waitress weve had several times before. After waiting 20 minutes I checked the grill and saw the cook just starting our order. Needless to say this delay caused us to alter our plans for the day. We wont be back.
Visiting area. Got fish and chips. Tasty French fries but bland fish. Not worth the price. The staff person was unfriendly and far from inviting. Will not return.

Only went once. Had the fish and chips which was served with a cup of clam chowder. I didnt care for the chips all that much mostly because l dont like the very crispy type. Some people like them crunchy so I wont take anything away for that reason. The only type of fries that l do like are the soft English style. The clam chowder was of the milk based type and was typical of this style of chowder. It was good but not extraordinary. The fish itself was good, but here again not extraordinary. I ordered the medium size and the portion was quite generous. The coleslaw was very good but would have liked a bit larger portion. The coffee was excellent.Went a second time and this time had breakfast which they do serve all day. It was very good. The home fries had a bit of onion in them which I like so if you dont like onion in your home fries you might want to pick them out or skip them altogether. I dont know if they offer something else like hash browns, etc. The coffee is excellent and I would say its the best diner style coffee in town. If you prefer a bolder Starbucks type of coffee then head on over to Assonet Roasters in Assonet, but be warned that they only accept cash and have a limited menu. They do serve breakfast all day as well but are only opened until 2:00 p.m.I would probably frequent Highland Luncheonette more often if it werent for their limited parking. I would estimate that you could squeeze maybe a half dozen compact cars if they all parked straight. There are no yellow lines that delineate the parking spaces. The service is prompt and friendly.
This restaurant is pretty good, especially as of late. They have a new owner so the food is a little better than before. Its comforting, All-American, diner food. If youre looking for a quick lunch or breakfast, Id definitely recommend coming here for a quick, satisfying meal. Oh, and breakfast is served until closing time!
I dont even know where to start with this food establishment. It is located on the corner of Robeson St and New Boston Rd. The food they used is recycled alot and not fresh. Mainly their chicken plates. The owner likes to serve already used food that has been left over from customers. This is a dangerous practice and against the law. Eat at your own risk!
Excellent food, corner place, been a local neighborhood staple for years. Great breakfast, which is served all day.
Used to be really good and portions worth the price, not anymore. I used to get waffles that would fill up the plate, now its a small frozen waffle, for the same price, We wont be going anymore, we will be going back to Dennys.

Let me start off with the pros of this restaurant: the restaurant is clean the waitstaff are friendly and this restaurant has a homely atmosphere food was decentThe bad : the bad i paid 8 dollars for my breakfast i recieved one sausage patty that was of medium size cut in half to look like a bigger portion ive received the same at any dunkin donuts along with that i received my two eggs and what i had to say was under 10 small sized hashbrowns going back to what i said before Ive received triple that at any restaurant Ive been to before and potatoes are not expensive enough to portion out that small amount.First impressions at a restaurant can make or break a customer experience and Id have to say that was a lesson learned for me

I would never go again. Food is tasteless, seems like they cut corners (i.e. microwaved chicken, cheap processed cheese). The waitress was quite a character. Bathroom was clean, basically the best part of the visit.
My meal came in 4 different times, my 6 year old waited 40 minutes for a hamburger, while everyone in my party ate, he was looking, waitress blamed it on my son wanting it well done! If you need help on the grill, hire someone! And getting way too pricey, we wont be going back! Even the waitress was complaining about the place

All I heard was a lot of yelling outside while owner belittles his staff with a lot of swearing and all this is in plain view of people trying to eat. Not at all professional and I wont return.
