I wish I could give zero stars... Bought a car, prior owner had transmission replaced here but lost receipt. I got a copy from Franks, where I was told it had a mileage warranty and wouldnt have issues even though I wasnt the name on receipt. Ha! After 10,200mi (13 months), it wont come out of 1st gear and moves like it slipped. After over a week of him researching where we got the transmission he says warranty is already up as of last month and not our problem. After we looked at it, they used a smaller transmission than it came with and they dropped it inside the old case so it held it better, missing all bolts except 1 (which was about half the length as shouldve been used anyways!)! Im lucky it broke when I parked it for winter and it didnt fall out while on highway! Zero help from franks, they wouldnt even look at it!Recommendation: 0/10

I highly recommend Franks shop for the reasons below. We came to Fallon to visit our son for a few days. When we arrived, our water pump was making noise and leaking coolant - not good in the desert in August! Before calling repair shops, I looked online to see whats involved in replacing a water pump on a 2012 Toyota Highlander. Ive changed a few water pumps in my 50 years of driving, so I figured its not a big deal. I was surprised at what it takes to do this job! Everything is so crammed into the engine compartment that its a rather complex job. A Google search showed estimates of up to $900 for a mechanic to do the work. Yikes! Things arent as simple and cheap as they used to be!I called around town to shops recommended by friends in town. Everyone was booked two weeks out, including Franks.Cathy, who answered the phone, sounded sincerely sorry they didnt have an earlier appointment since were here from out of town. I asked if I could bring it in anyway and leave it with them and wed have our son pick it up when its done. She said sure, and if they have a chance to work on it sooner, they would, but she couldnt promise it would be done before we planned to leave town. I figured wed borrow our sons second car and return it on our next visit. Not ideal, since we live several hours away, but doable.I took the car in and Cathy wasnt there. I figured shes out to lunch, but then I learned that it was her birthday and Frank had given her the rest of the day off to be with her family. So Frank was covering the front desk. When I told him the situation, he also didnt make any promises, but I could tell he really wanted to help us out. We chatted for a little while, and he talked about when he ran the junior racing program at the local drag strip. From the photos and awards on the wall, I could tell this business has a long history in this town.Long story short, the work was completed the day before we planned to leave town, and the bill was considerably lower than I expected - a double win!Frank and his crew took wonderful care of us and our car. Theyre professional and are the kind of people Id want to be friends with.Pros: Quality, Fair pricing, Professional, FriendlyCons: Too far from our home to be our regular mechanic

Thank you so much to Franks! My truck was constantly throwing curveballs, but instead of giving up like other shops have Frank and his mechanics stuck with it to fix her a.c.! I am so appreciative of your team this summer and will see you in the future if/when my truck acts up again. :)

Without a doubt the most knowledgeable and capable mechanics in town. This family drag races in their spare time so they know motors. Youre going to pay more than you expect to pay- they always seem to find something else wrong with my car. But they have performed mechanical miracles. You pay the price if you want the best.

I brought my car in for flex plate repairs, tune up, and cup holder repair. Labor rate is among the best in town, price seemed more than fair to me considering parts, mark ups, and labor combined.I was pleased with the cost and estimate quote was almost right on the money (Paid $1,415 out the door, was quoted at $1,500).Ran into a slight bit of trouble with my cruise control, but it was nothing they did (happened from another shop months ago). They still repaired the clips it needed to function properly AND repaired my driver side door switch (it was loose and missing a screw preventing me to put pressure on the window/lock switches else it would fall in the door). These guys went above and beyond what they were asked to do giving them a solid 5 stars for communication/explanation, service, timely manner, professionalism, and much more. They have earned themselves my gratitude and business should I need any work done to my vehicle.

What can I say? This place was very helpful in identifying my needs. Instead of charging me for what I thought I needed, it was suggested that I get it diagnosed. Found out the issue was totally different from what was assumed. Thank you Francis for being so helpful.

I can not say enough for the help and kindness that was shown to me and my family from Franks Auto. On a recent trip from Washington to our home in Phoenix I had an issue with my 2012 diesel truck. The sensor issue could potentially kill my truck at any time. We were getting ready to cross the hot desert and desolate drive from Fallon to Las Vegas and then to Phoenix. With no phone service in areas it was a protential real mess if we broke down with temperatures reaching 115 degree. We were between a rock and a hard place.Upon the recommendation of the Napa store next door I went to Frank at 8am in the morning. The place was very busy. I thought there is no way they are going to be able to get to me. Francis and Frank listened as I told them my issue. I could tell he was thinking how am I going to get him in. Then he said...Ill get you in but it will be a couple of hours. Of course I was elated. Within an hour I was on the road. The price was beyond fair and the service was top notch.Frank, I never got to personally thank you because you had left but know I appreciate you taking care of us. I will not forget your act of kindness and we will pay it forward as always. Francis, thanks for your brightness that day. You were amazing. Errick, thank you for your professional work. I was at ease immediately when I heard you ask questions about what was wrong. I knew you were a professional.I highly highly recommend Franks. Great job and a great heart to go with it. Thank you again!
