I just watched the manager scream at customers because it is 15 min before closing and she doesnt have time to help them. Pretty sad. The store seems fine but the manager needs some serious customer service training.

I had a pretty nice experience buying a wooden box here, but apparently because I entered my email while paying, I was involuntarily added to a bunch of different promotional mailing lists without my knowledge. Ive unsubscribed several times, but they keep filling my inbox with spam anyway...I guess I have to keep unsubscribing to all their branches of mailing separately, or it just doesnt work. It was probably hidden somewhere in the fine print that they know people wont read while checking out...pretty annoying, and definitely decreases my respect for the company. Id actively prioritize going somewhere else next time as a result.

When you order a specific color of yarn online, arrive to pick it up and its not the solid color you wanted is discouraging. Then have a person with a lack of oxygen to his brain in line make a statement. Get her order right before she tears up the while store. These kind of people should stay home and allow God to work on them before they leave their homes. Blessings

The employee Clara was absolutely amazing. She is so personable, happy, and very helpful. She is an amazing employee who I hope is always working every time I go to Joann’s.

Dim and messy. I only checked out fabrics. I had to wander around for a while before I got a rough sense of where different fabrics are located. If you’re into holiday prints, juvenile prints, flannel, and polyester fleece, you will have a great time. If not, then there isn’t much for you. I don’t know if I was looking in the wrong spot but the quilting cotton selection seemed limited. Decent selection of household fabrics and batting. No problems with staff. I went at an off time and it wasn’t busy, but the store is cramped so you’ll never be in one spot for long without another customer sidling up next to you. Unless you’re in the back with the batting. Very peaceful there.

You close at 6PM. Enough said.

Incredibly understaffed. Only 2 employees in whole store, with lines building up at both checkout and fabric cutting. I only needed one item and was having trouble finding it, would likely have had to wait a half hour for any help and even more to check out. I feel for the employees and hope they are able to get a break!

I love looking through all the fabrics and just running through the isles imagining what I could make. It really is a magical experience

Endless appreciation and gratitude to the five or six employees at JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores in Falls Church, VA who are dealing with customers waiting in two hour line, cutting fabric, stocking shelves, fulfilling online orders, phone calls, etc.They are the reason these mask orders are being fulfilled. 💕😷💕Genuinely so thankful for their hard work. This one usually has the items in the right place and things are neat. HW needs to think about widening the aisles some how or change the baskets to the two tier smaller ones.

Amazing & Efficient Curbside Pickup!! I had ordered 3 items for pickup & upon arrival, I catch this wonderful young lady wearing a black shirt with black hair & a ponytail. I tell her I placed an order online & that I’m here to pick it up, she takes down my order number & last name & almost immediately brought my order out! Super super fast service, I was amazed! Keep in mind there was a huge line outside & with everything going on in the world, her customer service was just amazing! This was my first experience with Joanns & I will definitely be returning!

I went to the seven corners location because its closest to my home however I wish I hadnt. Once I entered I knew I didnt have much time only 30 mins to shop so I wanted to be quick. I found the fabric in a section with a 50% off sale sign hanging above. I took it to be cut but was told it wasnt on sale by Linda. I asked if she was sure and I went to double check the sign. I came back and informed her and she told me to just read the sign... as if I hadnt just done that. I told her I had and informed her about what the sign said. It was clear she had an attitude. The assistant manager came over to help. I showed her the sign and she checked the price. The sign was either in the wrong place or there was an error in the system. It upset me that Linda was rude suggesting that I had not read the sign myself and that my sister a college graduate had not read the sign. I understand these are trying times on everyone especially as a service member myself but if Linda had just taken a second to understand instead of having a condescending comment our experience could have been much better. There are not as many cultural fabrics such as African prints available. it would be nice to gave more representation throughout the year.

They need to adjust their hours online. They close at 3:30pm NOT 5pm. I showed up yesterday and they had already given a lady waiting outside a sign that said last customer and turned everyone else away. Also, expect to wait 2hrs plus in line outside as they are only letting a small number of people inside at a time. I understand why the wait times and closing times are what they are, but transparency right now is important. If they list 5pm as their closing time, then they need to close at 5pm. NOT 3:30pm. Otherwise I wouldnt have driven 45minutes one way, to that location. I normally have no issues with this location. Just leaving a review to warn others.

It’s pretty small looks really outdated and they have small limited of fabrics as soon as I walked in I asked someone (that I thought worked there turns out is was a stock inventory person) where the bathroom was she gave me a nasty attitude and told me “I don’t work here my job is to check inventory ask a cashier” then I wanted to ask a question to another associate she gave me a cold shoulder lastly go to cut fabric and she also gave me an attitude I know that it’s hard times right now and a lot is going on but no need for everyone in store to be so nasty the only ones that gave us a smile and great service were the cashiers never coming here again.

My creative gene really takes over in this store! I see all of the fabric and immediately have ideas of what to make. Their app offers coupons and you can also use the Michaels app and coupons in this store. The employees are very friendly and eager to help if you need it. They are very knowledgeable about how much fabric you need for certain projects and can explain just about everything. I was met with a smile, which is always appreciated. This is one of the best Joann locations Ive visited in the East Coast.

After driving 30 minutes to get here the power was out. The manager Linda explained their situation and that they might close. 5 minutes later the power came on. Expecting the store to open I parked and approached the door.Linda made excuses that there was problems with the register and they need to talk to the district manager before opening. I saw the registers were on with the Joann log ready for sign on and use. This a a real disservice to your customers to close once the power is back on.

Failed to bring out curb side order. Didnt pick all the items requested, even though they had what I needed in stock. Terrible customer service.

A few weeks ago, I placed a curbside pickup order. When I arrived in the parking lot, I followed directions and called. I was told that they couldnt leave the store to come out to someones car.I was really disappointed and angered by the false advertising. I had to go in to pick up my order and wish I had known the curbside advertising was false.Not shopping there again for a long time. Its too bad. I liked their quilting fabrics. Dont bother with this store if you want knit fabric.

I ordered for curbside pickup for a few items for an event and the quality was SO bad that I couldnt even use it in the end.

Huge and I got a fabulous deal. The fabric area was a little crowded, especially for a Thursday mid morning, but the line for check out was empty.

This store has been closing 30 minutes early every day leaving 30 or more very unhappy customers who have been standing in line for 1 and 45 mintues. Think of another system to better suit your very loyal customers. I have been a customer for over 15 years.

This is such a great store. Even in these challenging times, store personnel are so helpful and generous with their time.

Ordered online for pick up. When someone answered the phone I said Im in line outside and wanted them to know Im here so they could get my order (not rushing, just informing). I was answered well yea thats what the line outside is for.When I got my order, in a reasonable amount of time,I called out my window thanks and no response. I said have a good day and was ignored again. Instead I was immediately shood away. I said Id like to look to make sure my order was correct and the response was that the order timer was counting and she needs to process the next customer (I had just seen her handling 3 customers at a time so that wasnt the issue.) I said to give me a minute and as Im pulling away shes mocking me and laughing at me with other customers.There are several places that make masks, sell fabric etc and I pitched this place. Its very frustrating to know that instead of being the mostcustomer service when other businesses are crumbling this is what I get. Now I know.

Pretty crowded, but everyone in masks. Well, it is the law, thanks to our smart governor Northam! Trim supplies seemed to be a fraction of what they were a year ago. I guess a lot of people are sewing & redecorating & using the supplies up. They were understaffed at the cutting tables, just one person.

Wide selection of fabric, but scatter all over the place with no order, costumer service is just non existing and if there is not helpful. The cashiers just take for ever to get costumers check out. I would rather go to the other location where the help and service are far superior and the organization of the fabrics

Store completely disorganized. No distancing here for the 30+ minute I had been in.

Cashier was rude to the customer in front of me and me as well. She was also on her phone and hid it when a manager came by. She also wouldn’t accept the michaels coupon I brought saying they don’t take those. After speaking to one of the customer representatives I found out the cashier lied to me and should have taken my coupon. The store is very disorganized, couldn’t find what I needed.

Im new to Joanns. I never know where anything is. The workers there can see that I need help choosing things so they are quick to ask, may I help you. So service is perfect.

Good assortment of things to choose from. The customer service is lacking. I stood in line over 10 minutes to check out, with only one person in front of me and 3 behind. Once the cashier knew this person was going to take a while she should have called for backup. Luckily, another worker came up and saw the line and helped. The 3rd star was for her helpfulness.

Takes a while to get in due to COVID guidelines, so be prepared to wait. Staff is really great and very helpful.

Where do you go when you have a crazy idea for a Halloween costume and you need materials because it turns out it doesnt exist and you need to make it yourself? JOANN. Their selection of fabrics is simply unmatched.By the way, the costume I made was a sundried tomato.

I like Joann fabrics. Other locations always have staff to help you. Not this one: if you dont know where something is good luck. Never enough staff, but the ones that are working are usually kind. Im not saying dont shop at a joann fabrics, what I am saying is dont shop at this location. You will spend twice as long in the store.

Are you kidding me with this being a legitimate store in 2019? The store hasn’t been updated since 1990. Service is ungodly slow (2-3 people working at peak busy times) and it is extremely disjointed. Was handed my pick up order in a cart after waiting in line for 20 minutes. Don’t bother. Buy online or go to Michaels 2 doors down.

Staff was very helpful in helping me find items and also retrieve them. Some aisles were a little narrow, but its a fabric store and thats pretty normal. Good selection of basic fabrics and some nice pop culture cotton prints!

Joannes has changed so much. Because I make clothing, I used to shop there all the time. They no longer carry quality fabrics. They have flannels, below grade cottons, more flees than you could imagine (make a bushy coat?). quilt cottons (not for clothing), tacky glitter fabric. No wools, no silks, no good knits, no quality non-shrinking cottons . . . NOTHING OF ANY QUALITY. Joannes is no longer a fabric store where you can purchase fabric to make a decent piece of clothing or to reupholster . . . it is a craft store. Very disappointing. I will find another store and will NO LONGER waste my time up and down the aisles desperately looking. If you sew . . . do not waste your time.

They are great here. Most of the time everything is on sale or they have knowledgeable staff too.I needed marine fabric for my boat and it worked out great. It was 1/2 the price of everyone else.

Eldrena was extremely helpful! She answered each of our questions, and walked us through to ensure that we had a good understanding. She was also very pleasant. I will certainly return to the store because of her!

The staff are super friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of fabric and patterns.The selection of other craft supplies isnt quite as good as other stores, but they primarily specialize in fabric, so its not surprising. They DO have some solid planner stuff, though. Small selection but what they have is awesome.

Theres always a line here, whether its at the fabric counter or the checkout, or both. I only come her for fabric - theres rarely anything they have thats better than Michaels 2 stores down. Always have your coupons ready too!

We got a heck of a deal on 12, 1 quart Ball canning jars for 50% off with a coupon. The total came out to be $10.59 with tax. That was much cheaper than next door at Michaels.

I had never been to this location but was in Tyson’s and decided to head east and give it a try. Seven Corners is a nightmare especially if you are not super familiar with the area but I finally located it in the shopping center. When I went in I thought they were going out of business. Many of the hooks with hanging products were completely bare and the entire store looked messy. It was a weekend and there was only one person at the cutting table so there were many people waiting, several just gave up and handed their numbers to others. Also while standing and waiting I witnessed several instances where people who had been waiting seemed to wait to get up to the table to start thinking about how much fabric they needed. Not the store’s fault but c’mon people.I couldn’t find what I was looking for and trying to find someone to ask took a long time. It’s also the only Joann’s I have been to where some products (not spray paint) required you to find someone with a key to unlock them. When I did find someone they took it to the cashier to hold so I assume they have a theft problem.Joann’s seems to be the only retail store in Northern Virginia where you have a chance of finding anything other than very basic sewing items so unless you plan ahead and order online that’s where you go. This store on this day was really understaffed and under stocked. Not a pleasant shopping experience.

They have a great selection of fabric, the only down side is that the staff never cut the fabric straight.

Upper Management needs to get some Good workers at this location.. The store looked like the pitts and when I asked for help they said its not my department. I went to get 4 yards of Plastic clear Table cover and I had my baby on the stroller and one of the wooden bars fell on my kids head.

Skimp on the fabrics... ive seen a lot more in other stores... like Frederick. This is definitely one of the smaller locations.

I used to love visiting Joann Fabrics, but it has gone completely downhill -- horribly organized, with fabric ALL over the floor and the shelving units pushed too close together to get a cart through. I went to get some quilting books, but they were completely inaccessible behind a makeshift counter piled high with bolts of fabric.

They had pretty good prices for the sale. Staff was friendly and helpful. The store felt a bit cramped, though. Selection was wider than usual.

Bought my curtains here very good deal but they didnt have specific parts for a sewing machine.

The same as every other Joanns. Most of the coupons arent accepted. Sale is not an actual sale. On the brighter side the staff is friendly although sparse.

Great selection for fabrics. Customer service is okay,not alot of people to help you when you need it sadly, so I spent alot of time looking for someone to help me, only like 4 people in there. WARNING! They dont sell ribbons by the yard only by the whole thing (solid colors) had to go to frabic basment on Richmond highway to get the ribbons by the yard sadly because its a bit far.

Joann has always been a favorite store of mine and down south they are HUGE stores. In the DC area this is the nearest and perhaps smallest Joann I have encountered. It is in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. First off, I truly feel bad for the staff at this location because it is BUSY. I have gone in there at varying times during business hours, during the work week before lunch, at lunch, after lunch, and in the evening before closing. Always a line at the fabric counter and checkout. You can see the staff struggling to stay sane, patience wears thin, and smiles are hard to come by. I was frustrated by this at first, but after putting myself in their shoes, I now try to cheer them up when it’s my turn. With fabric stores being a scarcity in the area, we are kind of in this together. I get slow days to sneak off to the fabric store, and I don’t think they ever get to take a proper break there.My “be kind” moment aside, I think the fabric selection is decent though I am new to sewing. I have aimlessly wandered the fabric aisles, typically walking away because I do not know what I am looking for. It would be challenging to get help since they are so busy. Good for Joann’s bottom line, but not so good for newbies. The high traffic also means a ton of the fabric selections become piled a mile high behind the fabric counter, which means you may be missing out on some goodies unless you wiggle into their space to take a peek. I am not brassy enough to do that...yet!I am becoming a fan of “buy online, pickup in store” as an option since it gives me a chance to research items and only stand in the register line to get my stuff. I then browse the fabric aisles and take pics of the name/number of fabric I like and try to order online to pickup on my next trip. Joann used to be my go-to store for other crafts, but this location is sparse in that area. There is a Michaels two doors down, so I think that affects their inventory decisions. To me this is fine, since I love Michaels as well.All in all I like this Joann because I can easily get to it, there is a good selection of fabric, good selection of notions when stocked, and the employees do their darndest to keep up and survive the continuous onslaught of fabric seekers. Go to this location knowing you are going to wait, you need to be a little patient, and if you are a nice person make it your goal to help the employees find their smile during a fabric rush. You will feel better for it and maybe even forget you were waiting during the process.

Increasingly dissappointed with Joannes... went there for buttons and thread and nearly the entire button wall was wiped out. Didnt have the color thread I needed. Not much apparel fabric to choose from. Ive started ordering all my fabric online these days... dont know why I bother making the trip when I need something small and simple because they usually dont have it. Takes forever to check out and cashiers always need help ringing everyone up. Crazy.

This place has a large variety of cotton fabrics which is great. The store is kind of dingy looking and its not really easy to find anything unless you go down every aisle. The staff seem poorly trained. When I asked where DMC floss was (a product I know they carry) I was given a blank stare followed by misinformation.Still, Id go back if it were closer to me.

This was one of the most chaotic stores I have visited outside of the garment district. Despite the fact I was there on a rainy Wednesday evening, it looked like the vestiges of a dream warehouse sale. Slim picking on the stock and the shelves were trashed. Stuff was even on the floor. Never encountered an employee.
