Great local ice cream place. They have milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, root beer floats and more. Dont forget to tip
I live in falls church, and i make all my friends come here when they’re over. it’s like my comfort place. always nice workers, and my favorite ice cream in the world. i still need to try new flavors… i always get cookies and cream. my favorite i’ve ever had was pumpkin pecan! 🖤
Probably the best ice cream place I ever visited. The flavors not too milky or too sweet to give you a toothache. It melts in your mouth very smoothly, but it also means it collapses pretty quickly so I wouldnt recommend eating it with a waffle cone. The cotton candys the best imo
The best ice cream Ive ever had. I believe they use cream that has a higher fat content resulting in a denser flavor. Awesome
Great little shop on main street in Falls Church. Staff are friendly. There is a public park, sitting area nearby. All the flavors are great, but the Steam Oil is the best!
Very tasty. I would have rated higher, they couldnt offer either of my preferred flavors. One was out and the other was too hard to scoop. I dont understand how it can be too hard. How will they get it out in the future?
Owner got condescending, defensive and name dropped Oprah in their response, so editing my review- Baffled by the high ratings. Ran out of cookies and cream which will not hold against them. But got a scoop of chocolate ice cream for my friend which melted faster than any ice cream Ive ever seen, which happens as ice cream melts so Im not holding that against them either just letting the people know my experience. The one star is for the Strawberry milk shake which was thin and majority milk and thus could not tell you if the actual ice cream tasted good as all I tasted was milk. I reviewed my experience and instead of sorry you had a negative experience I get a response shaming me for disagreeing with the editorial elite and critiquing my non review.
Creamy ice cream, friendly staff, and good sized scoops to boot! Great location and nice spot to get some ice cream especially on a hot day!
Best damn ice cream in the area. Period.
Friendly staff and tasty/creamy scoop ice cream with standard and interesting flavors in the heart of downtown Falls Church.
Small little ice cream shop with some good ice cream. They also serve smoothies and frozen drinks.
Great ice cream .... you must try it.👍❤
Great little gem of the little city!
Why spend your hard earned money on chain ice cream when you can go to this cozy, niche ice cream shop. It has really unique homemade flavors and an equally unique aesthetic. If you are a collector you will love this shop. It has a plethora of models ~~
First time there and I tried the Cookies n Cream 🍦. 😋😳😵😵😵 Let me tell you, IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!!! Better than Baskin Robins😬😬😬. And the location couldnt be better. Theyre located right next door to my other favorite spot, Hot n Juicy Crawfish. WINNING!!!!😂😂😂👍🏼💯And the two young ladies that served me were very professional and polite.👍🏼💯😊
Cute take out ice cream shop. Its very small, but there are tables and chairs in a small public courtyard next door. Not too busy on a Friday night wirh people courteously waiting outside. Plenty of space for social distancing. Free parking lot in the back.
I love their icecream even when I was in Delaware. That was my go to place to visit with my kids. And now finding it over here made my kids`s craving for icecream more though its a little bit pricey.
This was my first time here and omg their berry berry strawberry shake is delicious. I am definitely coming back to try more flavors..
Best Ice cream I have had in several years. Creamy, rich, tasty, silky.Came back but decided to go to a place we hadnt been before. My husband forbade me to get chocolate turtle and coconut while he was looking up a creamery on his pre planned creamery map.
Nice little store with friendly staff. The ice cream was good but not the best weve had. The selection is somewhat limited, due to the small store footprint but what they have is very good. The peach, pear, apricot smoothie was really good. It was worth stopping in and we would likely frequent the place, if we lived in that area.Reply to owner:The best ice cream weve had would be from UDairy Creamery at Univ of Delaware. In the area where we live, I would go with Cold Stone. Your ice cream was very good and we look forward to visiting again, if we are back in the area. BTW, the old CRT with VHS player in the lobby was a fun touch!
Tiny but delightful. Lil city is a great little ice cream place. Its no wider than 12 ft and maybe 15 ft deep but its a really nice place to get ice cream on a nice summer day. They have 12 or so flavors and theyre all good, very rich and creamy the way ice cream should taste. Some basics like cookie dough ice cream and more exotic choices like chocolate caramel and pecan. Nothing too crazy (see the 12 flavors). They also have coffee and floats.
My son and I had ice cream at this delightful shop a couple of days ago. Not only is the ice cream incredible but also the shop is the most unique adventure. The shop transports you over decades of wonderful memories with its walls of figurines, photographs and vintage electronics. I ordered the steam oil which was a delightful combination of coffee ice cream with caramel. My son ordered salty caramel ice cream as well as a strawberry milkshake to go. He was in Heaven!! We plan to make Lil City Creamery our destination in the future for any ice cream cravings!
The place is tiny (think 2 chairs at a tiny table), but there are a few chairs outside on the sidewalk as well. They have a good variety of flavors and everything Ive had has been delicious. Its good and local so if youre walking by while shopping or going to the Farmers Market on a weekend, you should stop in and give it try.
Came for the first time a few days ago and loved it! I think the ice cream I got was called the oil spill or oil slick? It was fantastic, and priced really well, especially considering the size of the scoops. The store is small but has a really cool retro-y aesthetic, complete with an old TV and VCR that was playing episodes of old TV shows. Im trying to convince some of my coworkers to come here after work with me!
Cute little ice cream place with Peanuts theme. Happy cows make great ice cream, its quite rich. Spatially challenged, maybe plan on eating at the perfect outdoor seating just next to the building.
This creamery lives up to its Lil name - it can barely seat five people and there is took for maybe seven people in line inside the door. The visit is well worth it, as the ice cream offerings here are delicious. I will always come here after dinner when I am in the area!
My children and I all got ice cream and let me tell you how good it was. I got salted Carmel and you could taste the salt and the creamy vanilla. Two of my children got something chocolate and they fell in love with. One got a sundae and was upset when it was gone. The ice cream tastes likes its homemade. You could just taste all the flavor. This is a cute little and I mean little shop with toy ornaments from all your favorite cartoons, which are high up so little sticky fingers cant touch them. We enjoyed our visit very much.
The ice cream is so good. It is milk sweet. They serve ice cream made from pampered jersey cows (the brown ones). The ice cream isnt overly heavy or sweet. The ice cream is just right. Definitely worth a try. The place is small with limited seating but you can just take it to go. The place is fun too because of all the memorabilia.
The Chocolate Thunder was a delightfully creamy dark chocolate ice cream. The blackberry chocolate chip was also delicous. Very friendly staff and excellent prices. Perfect pick-me-up for a summer day!
Chocolate Thunder is hands down the best flavor (no joke, my wife talks about it weekly) - sugar cones are crisp and have a nice satisfying crunch. Inside decor is strange but gives it a unique eccentric vibe. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!
The store is small but has really good ice cream and retro toys on display. There was good service, good ice cream, and a good vibe. I enjoyed my short visit here!
If you love coffee ice cream flavors, you definitely need to try the Cappuccino Health flavor. It is beyond amazing, like it is really that good! The only problem is that they run out of it pretty quickly so there have been a few visits where I was unable to get it. All the ice cream is made in Delaware, and only comes once a week to this store. The espresso is actually pretty good, as well. This place is definitely worth a try!
This tiny shop on the main street of Falls Church, VA was a delicious discovery. In fact, I was there twice in two days. Everything is homemade. I tried the coconut, the salted caramel, and the coffee on those occasions, although not necessarily in that order. Service is quick, which is good given the shop size and the sensitivity of having the door stand open for the crowds. Love the decor too. If you are waiting, try to find Shrek.
Great ice cream and coffee. There are a couple of tables inside, as well as tables and benches outside. Nice location to do a little people watching down town. There is also a pretty big free parking lot nearby.
Great little shop with big flavors. Feels like one of the few ice creams spots that just serve classic flavors that really move your taste buds!
Their ice cream hails from Delaware bovines and it is definitely one of the creamiest most delicious ice creams Ive ever had. The store is cute but very small so dont expect to be able to sit inside. My recommendation is the Chocolate Thunder. I dream of it still.
Easily the best in FCC
Best ice cream ever! Its such a quaint little place with such an awesome atmosphere. The shop is really small. So small that there are only 4 chairs inside. Anyway, the ice cream is very rich and they are pretty generous in their amounts. 5/5
Reminded of how good this is.
Great ice cream, fantastic staff, cool (vintage) atmosphere, decent prices. Had the peppermint chocolate chip in a sugar cone. One scoop was a great portion but it was so good I could have had a few more. Couldnt imagine it being any better!
Friendly neighborhood ice cream spot with a few places to sit inside, or benches to use outside. The folks working there are nice and the ice cream is pretty good. A good spot to sit an relax for a bit. They also have coffee!
Is got an amazing dolls collection, yummy Ice Cream, only 4 stars because the place is a little bit small.
I love the ice cream here. It tastes so unique compared to other places I have been to. Its worth every penny of the cost.
I think Ive been in there in a previous incarnation of the shop. I know I had ice cream and not Thai food nor crawfish, so maybe change of owners, new management or something. From other reviews likely making a go of it. How does one pamper a cow with Uber? Drive it to the milking station? /Riddle? 20200220: Not for check cashing, think I got root beer float, banana split and/or sundae, trying the place. It is small, so more carry out like upscale hole in the wall. Might be a good home base for a (biodiesel/pedicab) food truck to more than double the space. And if offended by Tiny, check out Tiny Homes, tiny Tim, etc. Ymmv 20200707 Added photos of adjoining park as TakeOut only service limitations with ConVid19...
Fantastic local ice cream shop. Lots of cute vintage decorations and t.v. shows inside. Ice cream tastes amazing and the staff always remembers us. Great small town feel.
Really great ice cream, cool action figures, lovely owner.
Ice cream is amazing. And a lot of personality!
Good ice cream. Interesting flavors but limited.
Fun mom and pop ice cream shop with tons of cool toys up on the walls. Please go for a tasty treat!
I miss this place..Most recently moved to Jersey City and though theres plenty of icecream in this area, nothing nearly as nostalgic as Lil City Creamery. Id pop in while strolling around Falls Church on a beautiful day or after a few miles of rollerblading on the W&OD trail with friends. Looking forward for a visit again soon. My favorite is the scoop of icecream in a cup of espresso (forgot what its called but so delicious).
Great ice cream! The turtle is really good. Friendly service and its nice to have a local ice cream place around instead of all the frozen yogurt chains
Best ice cream in the area.
I had a so-so experience here. The ice cream is just fine, but nothing remarkable. A couple of the flavors looked badly freezer-burnt, and there just wasnt much to choose from. Id suggest giving it a chance to see if youre a fan, but I think there are better local ice cream spots in the area.
Cute little scoop shop, very tasty ice cream!
The best shakes and ice cream in a perfect location
Little City, my two star review was accidental. I meant to to give it 4 stars, I love the place.
Amazing ice cream with somewhat unconventional flavors. Try the chocolate chip cookie dough - you will not be disappointed!
Soft creamy ice cream, reminds me of gelato. I can understand why the lil city creamery gets it name, its large enough for less than 10 people to be packed in like sardines.I was bummed that the creamery didnt have Wedding, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or the Coffee Heath Bar flavors as advertised on its website. After sampling a few flavors, I landed on Cookies and Cream in a waffle cone.Although I saw the no sprinkles sign, I couldnt help but ask! I love vibrant sprinkles to top my ice cream, but to my dismay the shop doesnt carry them. As the quality of the ice cream speaks for itself, I can understand why the shop doesnt carry any toppings.Although the ice cream was soft and creamery, I would have loved to see more cookie pieces, there was a bit too much vanilla. I also wasnt a big fan of the other flavors and felt like they had a strong base flavor with a subtle topping mixed in. The ice cream is a bit bland.Parking is an issue as there are reserve spots for CVS and Towing signs plastered all over. As soon as my husband and I got our ice cream, we ran back into our car.I honestly prefer Tobys Homemade Ice Cream a few miles away, but would be back if Im in the area.
Ice cream power house! Cute little ice cream shop with wonderful ice cream, shakes, coffee and friendly service.
Amazing ice cream and sorbet. The kids gave it 500 stars!
A small space with some delicious ice cream. Consider trying the affogato, it is excellent.
Good icecream but too creamy which is not a surprise given the name!
Nice little hole-in-the-wall place with friendly staff and good ice cream.
Quaint small town ambience and good ice cream
Super creamy ice cream. That is probably all you need to know.
LOVE Lil City Creamery! My favorite flavor is Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip...delicious!
Nice shop downtown Falls Church with delicious icecream.
Our favorite ice cream shop. My fave is the motor oil flavor!
Great little over cream shop in the heart of falls Church!
Very cute shop; the black raspberry chocolate chip was pretty amazing
Definitely the thickest ice cream in Northern Virginia. Worth going out of your way for quality ice cream.
The best chocolate shake in the DMV. No contest.
Long wait, lack of variety, over frozen (hard), not much better than whats at the grocery store.
Very small family ice cream shop with tasty ice cream 😃 They let uswatch the shop while he ran off to the drug store. (He locked it up and we ate ice cream outside and told customers that he would be right back.)
Nice place to walk to for good home-made type ice cream.
Great ice cream fresh from the farm. Owner picks up the ice cream from a farm in Delaware weekly.
Okay flavors, pre-packaged suger/waffle cones. Nothing special.
My husband and I recently went and neither of us loved the flavors. The staff was friendly enough but the mango sorbet tasted like orange ice cream.
Its ice cream. Some unique flavors. Its overhyped.
Good ice cream, lots of charm, but the space is a little cramped
Quality milkshake. Salted caramel is super salty, but it mixed well with another flavor.
Incredible ice cream. Very cozy and friendly.
This is my go to place for Ice Cream with the kiddos. The place is tiny with limited seating, but its nice to walk around Falls Church anyway.
Great ice cream and a nice owner.
Great ice cream and really cool toy figurines in the shop!
Overpriced and underflavored. Its not hagan-daz, but if you have an ice cream craving, this place should work.
Good ice cream but its small
Great ice cream!
Wonderful ice cream and always fantastic service. We go at least once a week!
A quite place with a vintage touch, kids loved it.
