Schmitt Music was very helpful and the salesman helped us find just what we were looking for. We had stopped at a different music store in Fargo who didnt even say hello or help us find or play a piano. Schmitt Music was friendly, helpful, and had many more options. Very pleased and will return.

My wife, 3 year old son, and i went to this store looking for a trumpet. The employee who “helped” us couldn’t have wore his inconvenience towards us more clearly. He literally huffed and puffed like a child throwing a fit as we asked for him to show us the trumpets available, and after getting them he would proceed to throw the $1200 instruments up on the counter. I will take my business elsewhere thanks to this great example of poor customer service.

Best instrument store in Fargo. A beautiful array of guitars, violins, ukuleles, etc. I walked in and asked if they would restring my guitar. Rick cleaned fret board, restrung, tuned. He also helped me modify the guitar body to be able to have a strap. A+

The person that helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he helped us find a guitar for our son that will fit his needs. They change out strings if needed very quickly. I was also pleased to find a place that specializes in violin maintenance in case I ever need that.

I was at Schmitt Music with two of my guitar playing grandsons. The store and staff were great. Even though they were fairly busy with paying customers, they still helped me find inexpensive trinket gifts for my other musically minded grandkids. My guitar players found their guitar accessories reasonably priced as well. A very good store and much more fun than on-line.

A VERY good selection of instruments, parts, and music books! I got a Star Wars piano book for only about 20 dollars. They also had little trinkets themed around music sheets and instruments. One of the best music stores Ive been to. Amazing service! 5 out of 5 for sure!

Was able to find what I was looking for and the staff were super helpful and knew what they were talking about! Very pleased with my purchase and will definitely be back soon! My only complaint is that I wanted to buy everything ;)

Overall not impressed with Schmitt Music - I would take any instrument to Eckroth first in a heartbeat. A person behind a desk to my left when I entered the store was on a personal phone call when I walked in. The staff at the back desk gave me the run around about how to repair a violin I brought in and said it could cost a hundred dollars or more since they would have to send it to Minneapolis for a stuck tuning peg. They turned up their noses at the violin I brought in making it seem like I was the fool for bringing it to their store. Their price for a full replacement set of violin strings was $50 which was more than double the cost than at Eckroth and in the end, the same violin I brought to Schmitt Music was serviced at Eckroth in 30 minutes for only the cost of the replacement strings - $26 total.

The service is great. They know what they are talking about. Very friendly service.

Poor customer service. They usually don’t have what you need. I don’t know who the lady is that works there but just attitude all around. She acts as if it’s a hassle just to ring you up for a set of guitar strings. Ive literally gone through an entire transaction with her not saying a word. And the times she does say anything it either labored, like she’s better than you or she’ll say something but address some else as if you weren’t there

Staff is very knowledgeable and tries hard to work with customer needs.Very laid back, not a high pressure store at all which I appreciate. Associates seem to have good background of music knowledge.

The staff were so great about helping us set up an acct for our son to get his instrument for school. They were so great at explaining how it all works. I would highly recommend going there for any of your music needs!!!

All of the staff at Schmitt Music are knowledgeable and friendly. I have purchased electric bass guitars, electric guitars, and even an electric ukelele from Schmitt and the staff has never pressured me into making a purchase for which I wasnt ready. When I brought my daughter in, they encouraged her to try any and all of the gear for which she was interested. I never had a question that wasnt answered to my satisfaction. If there was something for which I was looking for that they didnt have on the shelf they always offered to order it in for me.

We had a fantastic experience today purchasing a piano for our home! The staff was knowledgeable, showed us a variety of options, and kept our budget in consideration! Our piano was assembled the same day for us to pick up to bring home!

My son bought a thrift store guitar. Joel helped us deck it with new strings and a cool strap. He offered guitar lessons and tips on tuning. He was very polite---refreshing.

Ive been taking my daughters violin to Schmitt music for 6 years for all of her maintenance needs..today i brought it in to be re strung, the lady that helped me said the bridge was too warped and did not dare re string it for me..then tried to get me to buy a new upgrade but i was not interested. she then said i should go to eckroth?? I took it to eckroth and told the lady there what was going on, she looked at it and said it was just a tiny warp and the bridge was on backwards (Schmitts) and changed all the strings and turned the bridge the correct way..she explained everything she was doing and didnt charge us anything for her time..will only take my business to eckroth from now on.

I went into the store looking for a guitar that was a step-up from my beginner one. Not knowing a whole lot about guitars that was suite me the best, the staff was very knowledgeable and helped me settle on a beautiful Martin GPX1AE. The person who helped me was very kind and respectful and even offered to string it for me. A great overall experience and will be buying my next guitar at Schmitt Music.
