This place was horrible to me today. I went there to purchase a pint of alcohol and when I got there it, there was only one other customer there at the register but several employees behind the counter. A young woman that was working asked me what I wanted and I told her the pint of raspberry Smirnoff. She got it down and went to ring it up. I noticed there was another bottle next to it on the shelf and I asked if it was flavored. She got it out but said no. I said I only wanted the one and was preparing to pay for the one bottle I asked for when she suddenly said I dont feel comfortable waiting on you. She had not asked for my ID. I hadnt done anything. I was alone. I was looking at my phone and typing on my phone but that was all. I hadnt touched anything in the store, talked to any other people or done anything out of the ordinary. I was speechless needless to say. Then, whilst I was standing there staring at her, another older woman with blonde hair comes over and abruptly and quite rudely says to me SHE DOESNT HAVE TO GIVE YOU ANY REASON. To which I said, well Im not doing anything wrong so Id like to know why shes saying that. Then all the sudden a male employee walks over to me and I think he said he was a manager (now 3 people being rather rude and aggressive towards me) and starts babbling something about a liquor license and some class he took, none of which has anything to do with me or my perfectly LEGITIMATE purchase. All of them were rude, aggressive, and completely weird to me. They all three claimed that I could be texting an underage person on the phone and therefore it was some sort of violation to sell me any alcohol. Okayfirst of all I highly doubt that is any sort of actual law, and they dont have any signs about it up either just their word which makes it even more unlikely. Secondly, who you text or what youre typing on your personal phone in a store is none of the store employees business at all. And third, it would be especially idiotic as a law because its not proof of anything. A person could walk in there and not be using a cell phone and purchase something and then go back to their house or anywhere private and give it to another individual. There is no way refusing to sell someone a product would ever be the solution to a problem like that either. I did nothing wrong and nothing weird in my attempt to buy a product that Im more than the legal age to buy (Im 50). And I myself wasnt drinking or doing anything other than being normal. Nothing I havent done a million times either in that store and other stores. Nothing I havent seen other normal people doing either. I would strongly discourage customers from that particular location. I will not go there for any products of any type anymore. I just went across the street and made my purchase at Walgreens today so Im not sure what those people were thinking but they were rude to me and I didnt deserve it.
