Fun as Birthday activity for grandchild. The birthday bear is $ the childs age.Fun, courteous employees.
Veeerrrry pricey🥴 and not alot of variety but it was still a good one time experience.
For an experience-based store, this is kind of a let down. But if you want to get in and out with a stuffed animal its pretty good. I think employees here need confidence, training and social skills. We came to Build-A-Bear for the first time at this location with our three children, ages 5, 7 and 8. I was expecting a store like this to have fantastic employees- People who get on the kids level and can answer questions. Perhaps my expectations were too high...First, about 5 or less of all the stuffed animals were on display. Im not sure why? It is so much better to see them.Second, the store manager was an awesome guy, but the other employees lacked the confidence, social skills, or training needed to work with families. They seemed to be easily overwhelmed and moved very slow even with a lot of people waiting on them. There were about 3 families in the store and one couple total. The employees had a difficult time prioritizing tasks to keep the stations moving. I asked simple questions about a few products, and the employees looked confused and replied I dont know often. At one point (the stuffing) I was glad the woman helping us tried to connect with my children. She was sweet, and I appreciated her genuine effort. But to be honest it sounded very scripted and felt forced. I tried to stay positive and enjoy the experience for my kids and my own sake, but I was pretty disappointed.I watched one couple and two families walk in, look around and see what was going on, and walk out. Sad to see it is losing them sales.I love this store and hope they can turn things around and stay open!
I was so excited to take my grandson for the 1st time on his birthday. I was very disappointed in the lack of clothes there was. They only had 2 boy outfits to choose from. One being Harry Potter and the other Denver Broncos both of which my grandson isnt into 😓 Even the selection of girls clothes were not that great. If you are to take your kiddos go to a different store.
Kids loved it. Brad, the bear builder, was very kind and excited. He actively involved and engaged my kids through the whole process. He would ask what names my kids were thinking of and showed Disney level enthusiasm at their suggestions. My oldest decided she wanted to name hers Dodger. After hear that, Brad started helping to pick out outfits that fit with a Dodger name (baseball cap, jersey shirt, etc).Brad also gave us great information about the various types of deals/sales that were happening with lots of details about pricing, bundles, etc
What a great way to light up the joy in a childs heart! Went for my daughters birthday and she absolutely loved the experience of bringing her kitty friend to life.
Super cute place but they do need to add more options!! A bunny and a bear and a rainbow bear isnt enough! However the staff was nice and quick.
This location is a joke very rude people who work there. I was telling my kids that this place is a little expensive but it was ok because we had saved money so they could go when I heard one employee say to the other employee if she cant afford it then why did she bring her kids in. Maybe these employees need better training in how to treat people and not treat peole like garbage because they are not rich.
Drove over an hour to experience my first build a bear! My husbands in the army and he’s gone all the time. It’s really hard. He wanted to surprise me and take me to get an army / military bear at build a bear since I’ve never been! We were so excited! We walked in and they didn’t have any clothes supporting the troops. No military at all. Very disappointed. Driving home & probably never going to a build a bear again after that experience 😂
Workers more interested in talking to each other than helping customers.
Atmosphere is great and so is the selection of animals but the price is just very expensive to make a stuffed animal. Youre going to spend around $40 to $50 for one stuffed animal if you give it clothing and extras.
My boyfriend took me on a date to build my own teddy bear as he knows I love them. The employees were super friendly and very helpful. Definitely pleased with their excellent customer service!
It was okay. I didnt expect the store too be so small. First time there, and we were confused with the store setup. The kids really dont do that much. But my grandson lost his mother, and we put a recording of her voice inside, and the gal who helped us with the recording was very patient. Mayra??
Called ahead because we were running a tad late and the guy working said there were two parties in right then that was taking the max occupancy so by the time we got there we would be fine to enter. He also said he would stay open later for us to finish our experience if needed. He was the nicest guy to our kids and did indeed stay a tad late. Highly recommend going. Even with Covid regulations we had such a great time and left with very happy kiddos! Can’t remember the guys name but he worked Saturday night...
Kind of underwhelming. They didnt have a big selection of bears and accessories.
I went recently to get a bear for my wife. Megan, Brooklyn, and Anora were so nice in helping me getting taken care of. They were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process.
I would usually say five star on it. But they didnt have that many there. The employees didnt take good care of us though and my daughter loves her Build-A-Bear.
The employees were amazing! I came in on the 16th after getting a vaccine, I could tell theyd had more business than usual so Im very glad for their patience
Great place family friendly. Gbfy are promoting socal distancing. The ONLY thing I would change is the price....they can be kind of expensive but it is certainly worth it!
Build-a-bear is always a fun experience with small kids. The employees really go out of their way to make it special for the kids and get them excited about building a bear and making it their own. It would be nice if they had more cheap add-ons, so kids could select a few customizations and make it special without it breaking the bank, especially for lower income customers.
Nice little store. With the virus operation separation in effect, they made us stay at least 6 feet away from the other guests, and they asked that we touch with our eyes and not our hands. Because touching and feeling each stuffed animal is part of the experience, Im giving it one less star. That, and the prices are extremely high. Still, picking out the pet for a child, stuffing it, putting the heart in, birth certificate, etc. All of it makes it a great experience. Loved this place as a kid, and still love it now.
Wait time was awful due to COVID protocols. I recommend finding a time when it is not busy or plan on at least an hour wait outside. Staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure my kids had a great experience.
Friendly staff. Good environment. A little bit high on the prices but you are mostly paying for experience from what i gather. I would have bought something if it was 30% cheaper.
Very cutesy atmosphere. The guy working there made for the most magical experience possible 🥰
This is such a special place. Love taking family and friends when they come into town.
Dont know if its due to COVID but it was very picked over. There was only 5-7 choices of animals/characters and very little matching accessories. They didnt even have a plain Teddy Bear, bunny or even Mickey Mouse. Kind of disappointed.
Waited an hour and a half in line outside in the freezing cold due to covid. Ridiculous to wait that long with little kids outside. Maybe you guys should put a time limit on customers coming in to keep customers happy and not lose business. Or set out some heaters like other businesses have done. Absolutely terrible and so disappointed. We saw SEVERAL other people leave as well due to this. I will be warning everyone to not come here until you guys change your ways.
Very nice and helpful employee. Made me feel very welcome
Had a nice time but the selection was small. Couldnt actually build our own bear. But we had fun.
This particular store is extremely slow, and the employees are not trained very well. I brought in two bears I bought online to add a little extra stuffing to them. After they added the stuffing, they completely butchered the bears while trying to sew them back up. The first girl who tried to sew the bears did not seem to know how, so she gave them to another employee to fix the disaster she created. This employee tried to fix them, but they still looked awful. I ended up taking them to a different Build A Bear store to have them fixed. The other store did a wonderful job, and did it in a fraction of the time.Bottom line, if you want poor service, poor quality bears, and want to wait an hour for something that should take 15 minutes, go to this location. Otherwise, go to the Murray or Orem locations. They are MUCH better than this one.
It was so fun great for kids and the staff was VERY nice.
Such a fun place to take my daughter for her birthday especially during this time.
Not even a 1 star will do web site said open, not. Went there a week ago and we could not go in unless we waited an hour and a half with 3 small children cant even call to put name on list unless you are there in person doesnt work with small children. Farnington Build-a-bear is horrible.
I get the virus is inconvenient but we took the train from ogden to farmington and was told there would be a 1 hour wait due to only being able to handle 16 people including employees. We waited the 1 hour and was told it would be an additional estimated 45 minutes. We left rather than miss the train home. Maybe in the future if you cannot allow more than 16, only allow 1 additional person per bear being built. 3 families of 5 people for 3 bears ruined it for the rest
Pretty cool place for kids. But it sure does that up
Morgan and Brooklyn were so sweet and helpful! Ill be back
Ive come to this location twice to get my kids their xmas gift and the first time the wait was atrocious and we had to leave due to how late it got and my kids are all under 6 and the second time, today, they were closed even though their store hours said otherwise. I will not be going back as they have made a liar of me twice to my kids and i do not appreciate it at all.
If you’re making your kid wait outside in the cold for hours, that makes you a bad parent. It’s not the stores fault you don’t care about pubic safety and that a stuffed animal is more important to you then not killing people by breathing on them.
Our journey at Build a Bear in Farmington station began with 2 groups being a head of us. This turned into a 30 minute wait time. My kids are young and very excited. The stores leave the doors wide open just taunting the kids to run in to see what toys they like. My kids did pretty dang amazing just standing there knowing soon they could go in. My 3 year old didnt venture more than a foot from our group dot that was on the sidewalk, and Heather, the employee, snapped at her to get back. My daughter was over 6 feet from anyone else (social distancing like a champ per state and county guidelines), and we are on the SIDEWALK outside the store!!! Freedom 101: people can be wherever they want on a sidewalk. We get more robotic instructions before being allowed in. (not to touch anything, and stay 6 apart as if we cant read all the posted signs)Continue down to stuffing the kids bears. Heather who barked at my 3 year old on the sidewalk, helps sew up the stuff animal. She then goes to toss it in the bin for my child to grab. Completely misses and throws our new Bear on the ground. 🧐 She wouldnt pick it up, didnt make my daughter a new one. Talk about double standards as she barked at my daughter for moving 1 foot on the sidewalk outside. Are we enforcing healthy standards or not?!I was irritated to say the least. But let it all go.Till 3 days after we had purchased the 3 bears, my sons sound stops working.I go in to get this replaced and Heather (the same rude lady from Thursday) has the nerve to charge me $7 for a new noise chip, as if its my fault the sound stopped working. This store is run horribly, with poor decisions. If they truly cared about the customers safety they wouldnt be throwing bears and still selling ones they drop on the ground!! Such a double standard. I will not be going back.
For my little girl’s 4th birthday we thought it would be fun to take her to build a bear. She’s never been. I called before hand to find out what their COVID restrictions were. The girl was very rude on the phone but explained that we call when we get there and we would be put on a list.We got there at 12:00. Called and they said it would be a 90 minute wait time. After the 90 minutes, we called to see how much longer and they said another hour. Well, it’s 5pm now and still no call.I get that stores like this get busy, especially where they can only let so many people in but 5 hours of wait time when they told us 90 minutes? And they still haven’t called? It’s really not ok.
Our children love Build-A-Bear! They have their favorite dolls and a Charmander and love choosing different accessories and outfits. The ever changing selection makes it fun to just pop in and see whats new. Its great how these stuffed toys have evolved. Being able to add heartbeats, scents, and record your own message are nice additions over the year . Whether you have a boy or girl, younger or older, if they enjoy stuffed animals and playing this is the place to be!
Disappointed that there is no information about how long or why this location is closed. Having a disappointed 9 years old birthday girl is pretty rough, having a little info would help smooth the process.
We went to pay your age today and I was super impressed with the cute girl who was working. There was only one employee and the line was super long but she handled it so well. She was so friendly and hurried the best she could while still making sure our kids got the full experience. She probably deserves a raise for having to handle this day on her own. ☺️This was our first time at build a Bear and we had so much fun so we will be returning again! Thank you!
At first admittedly I gave a bad review. But after considering the personal lives of every employee that has to work under these conditions with cove in, I apologize. The world has definitely changed due to this pandemic. I would like to ask Build-A-Bear to take extra time and effort to support its employees in their personal lives as well as training for spreading happiness in a pandemic time.
So ummm... The wait was 2 hours. And it was pretty expensive. Idk if you really want to build a bear then do it, but if its an optional thing i wouldnt recommend
We came in today so excited for the experience! When we first arrived in the store, we were the only customers on site. We were kindly greeted and addressed professionally until other families came in as well. At that point, the customer service was terrible. There were hardly any directions given as to how to proceed through the process. We continued through the store asking minimal questions because the two women on staff seemed less than happy to help. When it was FINALLY time to check out, we were behind a nice family and another family entered in line on the opposite side of us. We were then TOLD (not asked) to move onto the other side BEHIND the family that had entered after us. Not only that, but after I had checked out I was trying to get my belongings in order and make sure the kids were ready to leave and the employee who was working the register PUSHED my items out of the way without even an “excuse me”.Although the entire experience wasn’t all bad, I’m never coming back. It was a waste of our time. I understand being overwhelmed and frustrated with the crowd. I can even understand how things could get hectic and a little unorganized and how that can cause added pressure to get people checked out as quickly as possible. However, when there wasn’t even effort shown on either staff members part to make it a better experience for anyone.. that’s when I lost compassion.
It ducked we had to wait outside for 2 hrs in cold when only two people were in store. And then when it was our turn we got rushed thru. It was worst 100 dollars I ever spent.
Build a Bear - Farmington, Utah - Mel was absolutely wonderful yesterday with my granddaughter, such a nice experience! Heather also did a great job with her while assembling her unicorn. Highly recommend! These two ladies were just outstanding!
Terrible and rude staff. As an adult, i didn’t want to be here, let alone bring a child.
The store has a capacity of 15 of which there are six workers, half of which are doing nothing. They have a wait list for people to enter however you may leave and come back within a 10-minute window of being texted yet store has never reached capacity while weve been standing outside in 80° weather for a half hour.
Just what youd expect. Expensive.
The employees were very helpful from the minute we walked in until the time we left. Their options for designs/themes of the bears were definitely abundant and current. The birthday bear was really cute and its pretty cool that they offer it for the cost of their age. The only reason why I didnt give 5 stars is because the prices of the bears and the clothes are just INSANE. I mean... its a stuffed animal. We were there for my daughters birthday and bought 5 bears plus a costume for each one. The total was over $230. The kids loved it but my bank account did not.
They are so nice here and always have a plentiful selection.
Great place, my kids always love going there. I would have rated it higher but we had to wait a long time to get stuffing in the bears. Otherwise great place, but expect to leave with your bank account a lot lighter.
If I could, I would give ZERO stars. Today was the $5 build a bear, we go see 7:30, and the girl working LITERALLY shoved out my little sister the store. She never gave an explanation of why she did that and locked the doors. We were so confused on why, because online it says that it was open until 9 pm. She called security because we were standing there. They never gave any explanation on why they did that. She refused to talk to us. So rude.
The worst experience I have ever had at a toy store! My two year old grandsons birthday and it was terrible! Masks and social distancing are one thing but being mean and rude to small children is ridiculous! Never again will I shop at this store again!!!
Great but spendy
Great experience here! I bought a stuffed animal off eBay that they don’t sell anymore, because my boyfriend was telling me about how he had it as a kid and lost it, so I bought the animal off eBay and then went here for the outfit. When I went to check out I asked for a box and if I could print a certificate along with it to make it feel just like how it was when he first got it as a kid. They were very kind and generous in allowing me to do so, and helped me find a close match to the animal for the certificate. They were so kind and my boyfriend absolutely love it! I loved seeing his face light up with joy
Today was my first time going here, and I loved it! It’s super fun to do with any ages! And it’s affordable! I loved the whole experience overall!
Fun for all ages, get ready to shell out some cash tho!
Build a bear is a great place to go for all ages, especially for kids and thats what the target market is but honestly Ive gone there myself a few times. There is nothing wrong with letting your inner child out to play every now and then and that is something people need to learn to do these days. Go to the park, build a stuffed bear, who cares.
Amazing service! I’ve never had such a friendly staff anywhere!I’m assuming the manager was stuffing my bear for me and she was honestly the best ever! We were taking about her job and she said “I realized that all I wanted to do was work with toys” and I couldn’t agree more! I work right next store at Cooper and Violet and I love how happy the little kids look as they come in and show me their bears!Shoutout to the crew that was there and helped me create an amazing bear for my boyfriend and gave an amazing experience!
They have a wonderful variety of stuffed animals. We went on a saturday afternoon around 1:30 and it was crazy busy. We waited over an hour to get it stuffed. Would recommend going on a week day or the weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful, but they definitely could have used more than 3 employees working. Our daughter was sort happy with her new puppy she got. 💖
My children love their build a bear toys
It was a little busy, but the young girl (looked about 18) was so friendly, I didnt even think to get her name. She was excellent with my 2 toddlers (3,2 years old) She was just so kind and gave us a great experience! If it werent for her it probably wouldve just been an average visit. This was mine and my kids first visit to build a bear and was quite memorable. We would for sure come back again.
Edit/add: Avoid this place like the plague! You will be stuck waiting outside for at least an hour and they will let smaller groups cut the line while your family is literally out in the cold! This place is run by some real scumbags!Cant get over how much Build a Bear annoys me. You come in and buy your doll with your kids and theres normal always a saddle in the dolls, but they rip you off on the pricing of accessories and other items. The staff is nice but sometimes you can get some real duds that obviously dont want to be there.
I have not been to a Build A Bear since I was a child! My husband and I stopped by as we expecting our daughter in December. Made 2 Build A Bears from mommy & daddy. Love 🥰 Thank you!
Overall nice experience though they really try to find any add-on that they can. Be prepared to spend the $20-30 for the animal, but then you need the sounds for another $7. Now you cannot let your animal go without a scent pachet $5, and then you need to clothe them (another $20). Good experience, just be prepared to drop $50 for a plush animal and it is fun
Fun time with my daughter making her birthday bear. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars is after being in the store making her bear for 45 minutes, my 4 year old started dancing for the potty. We were sent a 5 minute walk away two buildings down. Luckily she made it, and I understand no public restroom policies, but a 4 year old on her birthday who has been shopping for a while there should be a common sense exception. If she had an accident, she would have been so upset after the bear factory gave her so much joy.
Joshua the manager was amazing. He deserves a raise! So funny and personable. He made my daughter’s birthday magical.
Took kids for birthday month. What a great idea for them to have there very own birthday bear! Staff was friendly and store was very organized.
I love that you guys do the pay your age birthday deal. We went for my daughters birthday 01/16 around 6:30 and the girls were sweet but I had a question they couldn’t answer so they had to get the manager. She was very rude about answering my questions. In fact when I left my whole family said she was very rude about my clear questions and that I should’ve said something. So experience wise I had a good time but the manager was very rude so it made the experience a lot less enjoyable than it could’ve been.
Awesome workers to help make bear. Great day for my boys 1st birthday. Will go again.😁
Really expensive but my kids love it and its more for the experience. Also the stuffed toys hold up well.
Joseph was awesome. He was super nice to our daughter and quite helpful. There were a lot of bears to choose from and the staff let us know about all the deals they had going on before we looked at them. This was a really good experience for us.
This place was really fun. We had a blast making them. They do a whole ceremony of putting the heart in your bear. We went in as a family party, was a fun thing to do. They are pretty expensive, but worth the experience.
My son loved this place, friendly very helpful people . I will definitely go back.
My kids loved it here! Very helpful employy
Stood in the rain.
Lots of stuffed animals to chose from and outfits! Great help! I gotwhat I wanted!
The manager was horrible it’s so annoying this should be a great experience!!! Why is it never a great experience!!!
The manager Mel was rude very unfriendly and racist. Everyone was standing in line to get there bear stuffed and they had their strollers right there. They are white. I stood in the same place not white and was asked to move my stroller that I couldn’t stand there. I moved no problem. My mom helped my kids get theirs bears stuffed I didn’t get to watch. And my youngest still in the stroller didn’t get to see her bear stuffed. Then we went and picked out outfits and I asked nicely if they had anymore spider man outfits nobody answered me. Then while checking out I didn’t know what the bears names as my mom had helped the kids and the manager acted so put out that I had to tell her my kids names it’s all on the same piece of paper. Then for all the bears she continued to get more upset that I didn’t know the bears name, if I wasn’t told my stroller was a problem non of that would’ve been a problem. but non of the white peoples strollers where a problem. And nobody else was made feel uncomfortable. She was mean and didn’t make the experience fun at all. Then when she asked if I wanted bags for extra money I said no thank you boxes are fine it put her out like I was keeping money from her pay check. It was really busy we were there forever and it was a over all horrible experience. My mother, kids, and I were all treated very bad and we all felt very unwelcome. This isn’t ok it’s a place for children and family. I called corporate and they were like we called the store she sounded really nice and professional like I am lying about how she made me feel. This is crazy no people skills at all. I won’t be going to Farmington station build a bear again.
Its a great Build-A-Bear. I had to wait in a pretty long line to get my animals filled, but I think that can be expected at any Build-A-Bear. I think the clothes and accessories that they offer are majorly overpriced, but thats a corporate thing. Nothing this location can do about it. Super friendly service. They took time to take care of us even with the long line.
I’m extremely disappointed. Build-a-bear has gone down extremely in quality, but up and price. Spent nearly $100 they’re on a unicorn a bear and a dinosaur. The dinosaur and the bear are fine I guess, although still far more expensive then they should’ve been, with the recording’s inside of them are absolutely horrible. It says “special mic don’t worry about the sound around you”, what a load of crock! You can almost only hear the sounds in the background and barely here my husband’s voice in the “stuffies” ... Thr unicorn Is poorly put together... The main is literally sewn into the horses back, and there are several places on the footwear it’s like this too. Honestly if this had been a bear I bought anywhere else, it’d be no big deal. But if I’m spending $100 at your shop I better get good quality stuffed animals and good quality recordings.I included pictures of the unicorn’s mane... I also included a video of one of the animals recordings so you can hear how unbelievably loud the background noises are...Also whatever happened to the cute pairs that are just bears? Why do they all have the ugly build a bear paw prints on them???? If I’m spending $35 on a freaking stuffed animal I don’t need reminding of where I bought it 🙄
This place is so cute! The employee that helped us did so good at giving my littles the best experience! They loved it! We will definitely be back!
My kids love to keep coming back and give some love to there pals.
Pleasant experience, friendly staff. The only downsides are the prices for upgrades for your stuffed animal and the fact that they try to upsell you every step of the way. Not high pressure or anything though.
Joshua was amazing to work with. He was personable, and connected with my 3 year old really well. We originally came to the store to stuff a bear I received from the NICU when we lost our infant daughter, in the hospital 4 days after she was born-- but then got my 3 year old daughter a puppy to stuff too. At one point I broke down when he asked if we wanted a beating heart in the bear-- and he had no judgement, and calmly just continued to help our 3 year old so I could choose a heart. You wont be disappointed when you visit build a bear, especially if you have the pleasure of working with Joshua. You dont know how much it means to me to have had such a positive experience in making a bear to remember my daughter. ❤️ Thank you.
Horrible customer service. Will never ever return to any Build a Bear. Called to complain about the horrible service and was called a liar twice. Because they thought I wanted a free gift card. I wanted the rude grouchy store manager Mel to know how awful she was treating people with disabled children but instead we were called liars. I understand it gets overwhelming but the way we were treated was completely unprofessional and ridiculous for a childrens establishment. Minus 10 stars.
Showed up for pay your age with my 2 boys, didnt get there soon enough. Waited for a 15 dollar voucher for both kids. Went back to look at the stuffed animals they didnt have in stock the ones we wanted anymore. The employee I worked with was rude, and tried to rush us away. Then she told us we couldnt use both vouchers and then tried to convince us that it was ok because getting loyalty points is better than 15 dollars off... if you are going to try to sell over priced stuffed animals youd better have fantastic customer service to help sell them.
My kids have loved coming here! The staff is so cute with them.
Workers were very rude and took forever helping customers only one nice worker helped me and my little sister get a bear Prices were a little bit too high just a plain bear and the wait was so long and I wasn’t expecting the box that the Bears comment was going to be seven dollars just for a box
Great for making your own bear. Its not a cheap make by the time you get a sound, and outfit.
This place turns any adult into a kids again. I have taken my niece and nephew and my baby and each time is so fun :)
