I’ve been going there for years every time I go in the guy who sits at the middle table (idk his name) has always been extremely rude trying to up-sale anything possible. I’m a 20 year old college student so of course I’m concerned about price and anytime I brought up anything price related he’d basically tell me to stop thinking about price and that I’m pretty much stupid if I don’t pick what he recommends which of course is an insane price. I went there trying to get contacts he told me it would be $2,000+!!!! I went to Walmart and got the exam and contacts that work PERFECTLY for $105!!! After telling everyone my experience there they thought it was absurd!
The dr was great! However once I ordered my glasses the staff seemed to dismiss me. Not helpful. I waited over 5 weeks to get my glasses. I had to keep calling to find out what was going on. Gregg told me that if I wanted my glasses readjusted again that at this time they are prioritizing new patients. I am not impressed. Let’s just say I won’t be going back.
Doctor Davies is phenomenal, but staff is horrible to deal with. Lack professional customer service ability and skillset.
Very upset about our experience. Spent $700 on glasses special but one get one spent a good hour and a half getting Hubby and myself glasses, thought all was good until the man answered a call in front of us and was extremely rude and hung up on customer, needless to say when I went to get my glasses and called to ask a few questions he was so rude didn’t listen to my questions, he kept talking over me then yelling at me. I am so done with Fenton General Optical very unprofessional I feel like they don’t like their job. So bad don’t go there!!!!!!!
From the appointment down to getting my glasses have been a rough road, had to have a second employee help as the first one was just rude and short. Then it’s been about 6 weeks and no glasses and still on hold waiting to see if they came in yet. Very disappointing. Not sure if it’s due to COVID or just the way it’s run. But not sure I am going to go through this again.
My son and I went in there near closing time and they were very accommodating, they fixed his glasses for free. We have been going here for years and they have always been kind, caring, friendly and go above and beyond. They really know insurance and have a great selection. Very attentive. I send all my family and friends here. Thank you GO!!
We love General Optical! My family and I have been going here for years. The entire staff is super friendly and very helpful. We have been the last appointment of the day several times and they have never made us feel rushed! They are very patient and always take the time to answer any questions. I would highly recommend General Optical!
Due to unforeseen circumstances we arrived 8 minutes late to our appointment. An appointment that I took off of work for and my daughter had to leave school for. We arrived and the door was locked. She tried opening the door twice to no avail. She came back out to the car where I was on a business phone call. I had to try to cut that short to call the office. The first time I called the call did not go through. The second time I called I was told that if we were more then 10 minutes late we had to reschedule. I explained to the woman on the phone that it was just now 9:40 and we had been there and she said again rudely that we would have to reschedule. Your post on the door says you are only seeing patients who have appointment and to call if you need help. Well I had an appointment so we didnt need help, or maybe we could have called two minutes sooner. You lost not only my youngest as a patient but my other daughter who has been seeing you and my mother. This was very unprofessional.
Terrible place, poor customer service, rude manager, wait 6 wks for glasses then they refuse to replace or refund my $$. I will not be back nor will my friends and family.
I had the worst experience of my life here! Was seen Nov 14th, and didn’t get my glasses until 12/29! No calls, no updates!!! You have to call them to figure out when you’ll receive what you paid for. Beyond an embarrassment of a company!
A great place! I had a eye exam and went with contacts and have been back a couple times for finalization. Dr. Davies and her staff have been nothing but friendly and professional.Totally satisfied.
If you need an eye exam, or glasses i recommend GeneralOptical in Fenton. The office was clean,with a positive atmosphere. The staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The doctor was pleasant and professional.
Got my husband in within the week for new an exam for new glasses. Very nice staff. Very pleased with out visit! We will be back!
Please avoid this place.I had vision test ordered glasses took six weeks to get and they ordered wrong prescription and had to remake waited again and received second pair of glasses and still cant see through them and they won’t correct issue
The staff were amazing! They were professional, prompt, courteous and helpful! They most certainly cate about customer satisfaction and got me in and out promptly. I highly recommend General Optical of Fenton!
Lacked basic customer service skills and made me feel like I was bothering her when I called to make an appointment. Doctor was wonderful but I will not be returning due to the shocking rudeness from the rest of staff.

Had a great experience! Dr. Davies was very professional and got me in and out in a timely manner. The gals at the front desk were very easy to talk to and got everything set up and questions answered quickly!
General Optical has a very professional staff, all were warm and kind. Dr Davies is the Eye doctor that did my exam and she was helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend General Optical to my family and friends.
My son broke his eyeglass frames just hours before we were to leave for vacation. We were resigned to trying to glue or tape them, but decided to call the Fenton office to see if they could do anything. When we got there, they said they couldnt repair them. But they had already called the Burton office and located a replacement frame and verified insurance coverage. We headed up to Burton and the glasses were repaired in minutes!
Dr Davies and her staff are absolutely wonderful. I have trouble with the air-puff machine and both Dr Davies and her assistant were very understanding and took the time to check my pressures manually, and no one pushed me to try the puff machine after I said I didnt want to. Equal time was spent on my eye health as was my vision, which is something very important to me. The tech was very great at helping me choose frames that both looked good and were within my price range. There was zero pressure to spend more money on expensive frames, upgrades for lenses, or other extras. They told me it would take 7-10 days for my new glasses to come in, but I received a call on day 4 that they were ready! All of the staff is friendly and helpful, including the assistant, the techs, and the receptionist. I really feel they valued me as a customer/patient and as a person.

Very nice used my insurance I only had to pay a total of $20 for everything! Very nice staff! Both my husband and I received care and glasses here and we will stay!

Whoever answers the phone is rude from the moment she answers.Waited over 2 years to go back to this location hoping the staff in the front was different or had changed.Dr is great but the front office/staff really need to be replaced!!!

The doctor is wonderful as well as the majority of the staff however the woman behind the desk lacks basic customer skills and is down right rude. We will not return.

If I had the chance to not give this a start I would. I called to see if they accepted my insurance, and to make an appointment, talked to some woman named Megan. She sounded so immature, and was super rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Cant even stay open until the time they say they are closing, went to pick up my glasses 5 minutes before closing and the doors were already locked, very dissapointed
