I usually don’t do reviews, but these guys have some great service. I do all the work on my own vehicles. But being 8 months pregnant, I couldn’t diagnose or repair my delivery truck. Trusting someone else to fix my truck was very hard for me. I am very pleased to say that they got it back up and running, and at a very reasonable price. Absolutely wonderful. 😊

Ever time I call and want repairs they say no they pick and chose there work if it’s to hard there scared I just I won’t be calling them no more they are not mechanics they are glorified oil changers

As fate would have it my father and I broke down while taking a delivery of vegetable plants to Reno right in front of this shop. As my father and I were beginning to diagnose the issue, Joe came out from the shop to see if we needed any help. After talking for a few minutes and taking a quick look under the hood Joe found our issue, fixed it and charged us nothing for his time. This man is a credit to his workplace and to his peers in the mechanic field, I will happily utilize his services in a more official capacity in the future and encourage others to do the same.

I came in for a simple repair under a time constraint and JOE just did such an excellent job!He let me watch everything that he was doing, explaining the process along the way. DEAN charged me a very fair price and was super kind and courteous. I left a message, they returned my call 2 days later.

My Corolla’s water pump fell apart in Fernley in the morning while I was traveling to Reno. I called around noon and nursed the car to their shop. Joe was able to fix the car before the end of the day and when I paid the bill, it was less than the original quote and they beat the quote the internet said I should expect to pay by over $300. I plan to use them again even though I live in Reno.

They wasnt expecting my ride to come in that day. But in time they did fix my ride and got me back on the road so I could get back home after I was stranded for 12 hours

I had an engine misfire on my way over to California. I found this place and I am glad that I did. Joe did all he could to find the solution to my car trouble. When he found it and told me it was too big for the shop to handle, he called all of his mechanic friends to find out who could help me the soonest and with the best quality. He even helped me out with the tow service into Reno. Great place. Definitely trust these guys.

Joe and Dean are just awesome! My son and his family are new to Fernley, there SUV was down and so mom had no way to get my grand-kids to school in the cold weather. I called Dean from my remote location explaining the circumstance, these guys jumped into action, we got the vehicle into the shop and within a matter of a couple days running better than ever. Didnt try to up-sell me or nothing, just honest down to earth folks who actually cared. A refreshing experience. Oh, and the final cost very fair and reasonable. Couldnt have asked to be stranded in a better place! my truck broke down in the middle of the night, I called to figure out if they would be able to look st my truck - On a Friday morning! - and Amanda was super helpful, got me the tow trucks number and welcomed me to come down. Everyone was really friendly and they were able to get me out very quickly. Really honest and fun folks. Happily driving back home because of them :)

Well Im glad 😊😁 that I decided to go to hometown auto, I had a flat tire, went to one of the other guys, and the suggest that I go to Home Town for a tire,so I went to hometown, the had a tire, I wasnt sure if it would be ok for me but I went ahead and paid for it,45bucks😲, went home, put the tire on,it lasted about 4hrs.went flat, put air in it and went back and told them what happened, anyway they admitted that the tire was wrong for my truck, so they replaced it with a little bit better tire😁no charge, the took real good care of me. Im satisfied 😉

Hometown Auto is absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to help me replace my battery when a separate store sold me the wrong one; not only did they help me with the kindest attitudes, but one of the employees (I forget your name, sorry!

I called and got a quote to replace a serpentine belt and upper & lower radiator hose on my 2003 Dodge Caravan today, just for routing maintenance before our trip. I was quoted $384.00 by the girl who answered the phone. I sure would have liked a breakdown of the costs they quoted me, but the girl didnt even offer. I asked her, $384 for 2 hoses and a belt? Her response....YEP!I went to Autozone to price out the parts, just out of curiosity. Serpentine belt, upper & lower radiator hoses and coolant and hose clamps, it was well under $100 for all the parts. I realize that they mark up parts, and they have to charge for their labor, but this, in my opinion, was absolutely outrageous. I have had them do work for me in years past, and at that time, I thought they were pretty fair priced. My, how the times have changed. Time to find a new mechanic shop.

I have know Joe and Dean for 20 years. Joe is honest, fair and one of the best mechanics I know. He will spend several hours on a problem car and not even charge his customers for all the time he puts in; a real straight up guy. They never pull the bait and switch routine done by many other shops, they just tell you how it is. I recommend Hometown Auto to all my friends in Fernley; this is the best shop in town.

Called to have a timing belt serviced on a Honda Civic. They gave me a date for a diagnosis appointment. I assumed that meant they would diagnose and fix the car in roughly the same time period. I was informed that it was just a diagnosis and i would have to bring the car back at a later date. After a misunderstanding on their diagnosis and service dates, they were very generous to put other work aside to rush my car in, as i only had the one car to go to work and i couldnt drive on a faulty drive belt. Reasonable prices and the mechanic showed me the faulty parts after work was completed. 5 stars for being understanding and getting my car in fast.

This was my first visit. I was pleased with the work that was done (tune up and an oil change) for my F150 pickup truck, and the thing runs 100% better than when I took it in for these maintenance tasks. Their prices are fair...charging about what other service centers would be charging for the same job. I just felt that these folks were fair in procing, and they seemed honest and ethical in the process.

We were traveling from Oregon after having our Roadtrek camper van serviced in Bend. The High Oil warning kept coming on and after checking the oil dip stick, I discovered that the oil was way over max.After looking all around town for some one who could take off some oil,l finallydrove into Hometown Auto in Fernley, NV which was just closing shop for the day. When I explained my predicament, Dean asked for my keys, drove the van into the shop and with another employee proceeded to remove the TWO quarts of excess oil that the Oregon shop had put in. Greatly relieved that a potentially serious situation had been averted, I tried to pay Dean for going the extra step but he insisted that it was on the house and wished us well as we went on our way. Personal service like that is rare in today’s world. Thanks Dean and Hometown Auto Service.!

Car broke down mid afternoon due to busted raditor. Come morning time the car had cooled down enough i could move it to his shop. I arrived at the shop at 6 am, 2 hours before he was supposed to be open and he still took a look at my car and had me back on the road by 10. Best service I have had at an auto mechanic and I highly recommend their service.

Work completed in timely manner for a very fair price. No surprises.

My sisters car broke down on the way the Utah. We got it towed here and they were miraculously open on Labor Day! They were extremely friendly, which surprised me, since I wouldnt be if I had to work k Labor Day. They found the alternator problem and fixed it within a couple hours, and it was nowhere near as expensive as I was expecting. Best experience with a repair shop Ive ever had! Too bad I dont live in Fernley, or Id come here wih all my car problems!

I had a simple problem and even though they were slammed they showed me what was wrong and was able to fix it myself. It doesnt get better than these people.
