Showed up after they’d closed and they answered the door anyway. Told them I was looking for a good kids bike 16-20”. They let me in, I bought an awesome specialized 20” that was used. They put training wheels on it and adjusted it per my requests all while I waited.Guys were friggan awesome to work with!!!

I very much respect this shop and the owner. My previous post was written purely off emotion. I would highly recommend this shop if you are in Indy and looking for quality service from a very knowledgeable staff. There is also always a cute French bulldog puppy in the store to play with while you wait. Cannot beat a shop with a shop dog!

The team at Motion continue to take care of me time and time again. Now with the COVID restrictions, they are still friendly and transparent about wait times. I may pay a dollar or two more than online, but the team at Motion easily makes up the gap in service and knowledge. Support your local store, and pet the shop dogs when you visit!

I bought a bike from here a couple of weeks ago. After the 1st ride, I noticed a lot of noise from the rear gearing and the rear brake was very hard to pull and would stick when the lever was pulled in. I made an appointment at 10:30 on a Friday to have one of the brakes adjusted and the rear derailleur adjusted. We got there and they had no idea who we were or why we were there, so we had to explain everything again. We were told that if it wasnt done that day, it would be done on Saturday. We were specifically told NOT to call to check on the status, that they would contact us. We didnt hear anything on Saturday and nothing most of the day on Monday. I reached out anyway and was told they were working on it and it would probably be on Tuesday or Wednesday. They are only open from 10-2 three days a week, so that has delayed everything a while. I was told that the repairs could either take the place of my free tune-up, or I could pay the 100+ for the repairs. I asked thek to call me to explain what they had done, but they never got back with me. I called, again, and they had adjusted the gearing and replaced the entire rear brake, including the disc. We asked why they didnt call to let us know that it would be over 100 dollars and not the 25 it should have been. Before I could finish, I was interrupted and told that I am not paying for it anyway since it could take the place of the tune-up. I explained that I understood, but I would prefer to pay for it and keep the tune-up, but its not an option at this point. They said they dont call with pricing for what the bikes will need, they just do the repairs. What? Since we are traveling over an hour to get there and they have very limited hours, we had to wait a few more days to get it. We got the bike and I got on it to take it around a parking lot. The rear gears are still skipping on every gear and its not rideable at all. I contacted Motion and was told that they did adjust the gearing and also test rode it and it was fine. I sent a picture of the crooked rear gearing and explained that all of the same problems were still there. That was several days ago and no one ever contacted me. So I now have a broken bike that is brand new and ridden once that I cant use. Im going to have to take it somewhere else and pay them to do what Motion was supposed to. I wouldnt recommend these guys to anyone. We were very patient with them and they continued to disappoint. I would also add that Motion had no idea why the bike I bought had mechanical brakes, as that model has hydraulic brakes per all the spec sheets. The whole thing was just weird.

This shop is fantastic. The owner took great care of me and has for years. Everyone working here truly cares about their customers and the community. I can highly recommend this shop.

Local shop, very friendly staff. Helped me pick out a bike even during the rona stay at home. Had my bike set up and in my car in under 30 mins. People were bringing in broken bikes and staff was just fixing things left and right and getting people out the door. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop if you are looking for a new bike. Thanks!

The staff knows just about everything about bikes and how to fix them. I had to get new tires and a tube on my mountain bike and they did the job in less then 5 minutes. I highly recommend this bike store

Ive been going here for over a year now. Always have had a great experience with this shop. From parts for my not so expensive bike, to wheel builds for the road bike. They have always been great and fairly priced. Even gave me a loner wheel when needed.

We went here on a Friday morning to get a flat tire fixed, when we first got there it was very unorganized with the way they were helping their clients. They took in my boyfriends bike and “repaired” it and when we rode it 3 hours after it became flat again. They didn’t expect what caused the flat tire, they just put a new tube in. And they also didn’t tell us how much it was they just asked for our card or cash. Very unorganized and didn’t have a great vibe. Thanks motion fitness.

I went into Motion Cycling and Fitness early in the summer for a bike fit. For months I experienced pain in the saddle and was unable to ride for more than an hour without discomfort. The owner set me up for a professional bike fit and spent two hours with me to ensure that I left with the perfect fit. I have been riding pain-free since!I also bring my bike there for repairs and can count on their expertise in products. I highly recommend this shop for competitive cyclists.

Negative experience, I highly recommend seeking out Gray Goat versus this shop. The owner of this shop is frustrating and does not take care of the customer.

I’m a Fed that just moved here from DC. Saw two guys working in the store as I pulled up. I get out the car and one of the guys immediately walk to the back as he sees me approaching the store front (he wasn’t too far from the door as I parked the car). Anyone with common sense will guess why he walked away. Maybe he didn’t work there but walking to the back tells me he has some connection. He ignores me and lets the guy who was already working on a bike help me (which was pretty odd). However, that guy who did help me was professional and very helpful. He also helped me get some parts I needed. This was after he politely added air to my tires (for free) and told me I didn’t need new tires or tubes (more than likely). That was pretty cool. But I was actually there to buy bikes for my three teenage children since the weather is changing but after I felt the negative vibe I decided to just buy something small that I needed at time and then go get my kid’s bikes somewhere else.

Motion Cycling is an awesome homegrown bike shop. Unlike the mega shops in Indy that have to pay for a huge overhead, you get a great deal and even better customer service. We have bought all of our family bikes from Motion and we have had a great experience every time.

Dont bother going in here if you have a cheap bike as the clerk told me.No, I dont have an $800 bike nor do I wear cool bike clothing but I have cash in my pocket that I want to spend on parts for my $80 bike. He could not be bothered to order the part for me though he hinted that he could. So much for trying to do business at a local company.

Have been attentive to my needs for several years. Small jobs often fixed while I wait, and they dont nickel & dime you. Competitive prices. Buy your bike there and youll be well taken care of when you need it most.

The sign says they open up at 10am on Saturdays. Obviously this is false. Glad I drove across town for absolutely nothing.

Took my tri-bike in for a tune-up and went through a standard fitting after. John handled my fitting and essentially talked me through every little tweak and potential move he made, explaining the benefits and where I should feel the differences. Very personalized service.

A great bike shop. I got the run around at one of the bigger shops who argued with me when I told them what I wanted. Motion Cycling did not do that. I shopped around. One of the shops in Carmel did not want to deal with me. Motion Cycling took care of me and ordered the bike I wanted (not trying to get rid of stock in hand). They even let me put money down and pay it over a few weeks. They are the best.

Beware of the bait and switch for repairs. I was told a type of repair can be done. Load up the bike and headed to the store. Upon arrival I am told not really Im not really comfortable making that kind of repair. Wouldnt have bothered me, had I not been told that it was a possibility on the phone. Thanks for wasting my time. I learned my lesson. I will never return to this store.

I recently brought my road bike to them after destroying the derailer. As always, they provided excellent and prompt service at a very competitive price.

First time I took a bike it was to have them replace a broken brake part. Was quoted a price on the phone but was charged double that price. Second time took a bike in early Friday for minor service. Service guy said it couldn’t be done that day but would definitely be done Saturday morning. Called them at 12:30 Saturday and was told they don’t do service on Saturday. I asked why I was told it would be completed Saturday morning if they don’t service bikes on Saturday. He said they would work on it. In general I find the vibe uninviting. No smiles. No apologies.

Motion took care of me BIG TIME, when I was stranded. Can’t thank them enough.

Every year, one of mine or my kids bikes gets a busted intertube and it needs to be replaced. I feel like a dork walking into a high-end bike shop like this with a kids bike, but they never make me feel weird about it and always treat my minor repair needs as if I were bringing in a Trek Madone. Great local Fishers business!

Great Service...very reasonable

Took 1 month in shop and after 15 minutes of riding the chains came off and one broke so now I can’t ride the bike and it costed me $100 to get the bike repaired. Never again at this place

Wonderfully helpful and friendly. This is where I will be taking my bike for a tune up and to restock on my cycling gear needs.

Needed to have the bottom bracket cleaned/adjusted on my bike. I called them and they said that they could probably do it today (Thursday), if not then tomorrow (Friday). So I took my bike to them and they told me that I can leave the bike and they will fix it by MONDAY! Seriously 4 days for a 30 minute job??? I just took my bike to BGI North in Castleton and they adjusted it in 20 min for $9.99. Should have just gone to a professional place in the first place. Oh well, lesson learned.

These guys know their stuff. Always satisfied with their service, and their prices are competitive.
