The website has a nice idea of having a space to ask questions, but if you are ordering from your phone it does block important information. As a music store, they are wonderful with a lot of options. They also let you switch out instrument rentals if your child changes their mind.

I was kind of upset because I couldn’t get logged on with the address supplied by the band instructor. I called instead and was overjoyed with the help I received from Kendra. IMO the old store off the Beltline was nicer and larger. I trust there service and have been in Madison ever since I could remember. I thought it was a little too pricey but I’m not an artist. I would recommend

Rating is based on ordering only. Will not receive delivery until school begins. Would like to give 5 stars but there were two separate lists of recommended accessories that were suggested by the music instructor that had some inconsistencies. In some instances the items were the same but brands and prices were different. There were also a couple minor items that were only available on the secondary list (separate from the instrument rental page) so we had to order them separately as there was no apparent way to consolidate into one checkout cart. Just anecdotally, we noticed that delivery fees for those two small items totalling less that six dollars to be shipped locally ranged from around $6 for 7 day delivery to $103.00 for three day delivery. How is that even possible?? Thankfully delivery to the school is free, so we didnt need to pay for any shipping, and Ill give the benefit of the doubt that the website probably just had an error in the calculation formula. Anyway, it would have been nice to have just one centralized list to pick from, but bottom line is that it was still pretty easy to get an instrument lined up for the upcoming school year.

This music store is a shadow of its former self. I was unimpressed with both selection and helpfulness of the staff. Wasnt particularly bad, but I was the only person in the store and all I got was a hello when when I walked in and was pointed to the almost $900 ukulele I came to look at and play. Ended up ordering it elsewhere from someone who actually was interested in selling something.

I had to take my violin in for a minor repair and to add fine tuners. Jack went way above and beyond my expectations. He cleaned and polished my violin to where it was looking brand new, he oiled the fingerboard and put some compound on the tuning pegs so they would no longer stick. He cleaned and polished my bow, and even noticed there was a piece of loose leather on the bow, so he took time to glue that. I am very pleased with the service I received and will definitely go back if I need another repair. Thank you!

Deb, the technician who worked on my tenor sax did an amazing job! Rather than do just the minimum I asked for, she took the time to examine my instrument and made suggestions for fixing issues I didnt even know could be repaired. I set a budget I was comfortable with, and they worked within that. The results have been noticable in how the sax plays, and Deb even polished it up for me. It looks like an (almost) new instrument!

Claire and Alex were extremely helpful. This place is tucked away and I would have missed it had someone not referred me. Its a nice low traffic area and not as hectic and volatile as other music stores in the area. Will definitely return!!

I recently had my French horn fixed and bought a piano from them. Dave the salesperson was really helpful when I was at the store and when he delivered my piano, was right on time and took the time to explain how it worked etc. Ive always liked Ward-Brodt and am glad I made the trip to their new store to buy the piano from them vs. just buying it online through Amazon. I highly recommend them!

Their repairman and service is excellent! He has fixed my daughters clarinet two times on a Saturday and it only takes about 10 minutes. He replaced corks, made adjustments, and best of all showed my daughter how to prevent problems and maintain her clarinet. They didnt even charge us for the work done. The store and bathrooms are clean. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is a well run business!

Staff was somewhat knowledgeable but couldnt give discount for purchasing display model when they had no stock. Better deals online but I do like to try to keep local stores supported for those who need one.

Absolute WORST customer service I have EVER encountered!!!! Charging us rent for an instrument we rented for 7 years that was returned to the school of our High School graduate. Claim they could not find the instrument(LIE) and it is now our responsibility to drive 65 miles to drop it off. Told me they will continue to charge us if we DONT drop it off. I would NOT recommend this company to ANYONE. Employees are VERY RUDE and disrespectful. Buy an instrument if you can afford it, from a different source. Ward-Brodt is OVERPRICED and will continuously charge you for their laziness and incompetence.

Great customer service. Weve been clients of Ward-Brodt Music for twenty years. Whenever we need an instrument, quick repairs, instrument restoration, music, lessons or gifts they have been patient with our family and very helpful. They stand behind their service and products.

Didnt plan to get a real uke that soon, but I was attracted to that Kala long neck almost immediately. Thanks for the help and your patience to answer my questions. The staff allows me to have plenty of time to compare each uke alone and checked in with me. The only down fall was that I had to set them very carefully on the floor, because theres no counter to put them on.

This was the fourth place I called for a very simple and quick clarinet repair but was getting estimates of 7-14 days at the other places. Luckily because it was such a simple fix Ward-Brodt was able to repair while I waited! They even fixed another issue with the horn I’ve had for years but no one has been able to align, *and I didn’t even tell Ward-Brodt about that problem*. Extremely happy with repair service! Thank you Ward-Brodt! I won’t waste time calling around other places in the future.

I visited this store a little while ago and they did not have a large selection of sheet music. I felt as if the stock was not a good selection at all. Not only that but their employees drive poorly. They tailgate people in snow storms which is very dangerous. I only hope that they arent transporting instruments because if they crash it wont be pretty.

I suppose that I relied on their service too much. I brought in my viola, the strings were pretty old and I had to replace them. I didnt know how. When I asked for instructions, the salesperson started twisting a peg and the string busted. seeing as how I was going to replace them anyways I wasnt too angry but still it sent up a bit of a red flag I foolishly didnt acknowledge. I bought the set of strings the salesperson recommended (it was the only set for my violas size) aaaand they dont fit into my tailpiece! Awesome.
