DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They put in our pool 2 years ago. We have had concrete problems from the beginning that are still not fixed. But….apparently the work order has been put in. Also have had issues with our hot tub light that they have not repaired that for over a year. Now we have a leak from underneath our heater and when I called for service… acted like they couldn’t even answer my questions or give me ANY professional advice on a solution much less schedule someone to come out and look at it to find the source of the leak. Said they are booked out until Nov 2nd and acted like it would be way too late then. So UNPROFESSIONAL!! No follow u ever and customer service is the worst!!
These guys are generally knowledgeable and if you bring in a broken part theres a good chance they have a replacement. I need my pool light, case of shock, and some alkalinity and they had everything readily available and in bulk.Shock is outside in the shed and you can purchase it inside before taking a case to your car. Its liquid but you get 4 containers per case. Prices vary but I find them competitive with online prices.
Bizarre behavior from male manager. When they changed there pricing to me and I nicely questioned why was I given a much lower price the day prior the manager could be heard in the background saying tell them to go somewhere else. When I asked to talk to him he had them hang up. When I called back for him they left me on hold and hung up. When I call back they sad he wasn’t in today. Cowardly behavior and certainly unprofessional. It isn’t about the price it about the behavior.
Very knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a pool or owns one. They have everything you need in such a small shop.
Terrible customer service...they act as if you asking them a question is the biggest inconvenience. The only reason I am not giving them one star is because they do test your pool water, which is a nice service. However, the advice they have given me on which chemicals and the amount to add has been incorrect on multiple occasions and has led to me having to correct with more chemicals or wait days for chemicals to dissipate. Such a disappointment as this store has so much potential.
Good pool supply store. Reasonably priced. Staff was helpful and friendly
Had a new liner for my in ground pool. Lipps made the process easy and the liner was installed earlier than I expected. The installers were efficient, professional and the pool looks good.
Only talked to on the phone but were very friendly and knowledgeable. Even gave me other places to call that could help me since they dont do aboveground pools
Had a water heater installed they did not ground the heater and left the pool pump ground wire unattached. When we contacted them they said the part was missing came back two days later and fix it.
I purchased a liner from Lipps in September of 2020 and was assured by my salesman, Bradley, that the liner would be installed by October of 2020. Bradley was more than happy to sell me the liner (in hindsight, I presume to earn commission), but Lipps did not deliver on this promise. Now, I understand the COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges for pool servicers and manufacturers, however, this is not an issue related to delayed liner production, but moreover, an issue of lack of professionalism and, frankly, misleading/deceptive sales tactics. It was important to me (as I expressed to Bradley) that this pool liner be serviced during the 2020 season because Im looking to put my home on the market; Bradley listened to me express this desire and assured me it was something Lipps could do. Fast forward to October: I hadnt heard from Lipps since Bradley sold me the liner, so I began calling. Every time I called, an employee would take my name and number and assure me Bradley would call me back. He did not. I began calling daily, sometimes two times a day, always to have an employee simply take my name and phone number and assure me Bradley would call me back. The third week of October, I finally connected with Bradley (it just so happened he answered the phone one afternoon) and he was extremely resistant, insisting that he never guaranteed the liner could be installed this season and going so far as to say he didnt even remember me. He also tried to shift blame onto his store manager, Mike, rambling about how Mike had inadequately scheduled certain jobs that season and that had contributed to lack of labor, yatta-yatta.At this point, I was exasperated and asked to speak to Mike (the store manager) or whoever was the highest person on the totem pole. Bradly took my phone number and assured me Mike would call me. He did not. I began calling daily again until I finally connected with Mike. He, too, met me with resistance, gave me the run around, and not once did he apologize. Mike proceeded to jerk me around for the remainder of the 2020 season, promising service (possibly; maybe; it just depends on who I have available) until I finally called in mid-November and asked if it would be necessary for me to make arrangements to winterize my pool (because, by that point, it had become obvious that Lipps was not prioritizing upholding their contract with me).Hilariously, Mike had the audacity to ask me when I wanted to schedule my pool closing, which I found particularly tactless (as if I would even consider handing over any more money to Lipps after this experience). At this point, Im so fed up with Lipps that Ive made arrangements to just pick up my liner (which Ive already paid for and which theyve had in their storeroom since early October) and have another company install it next year (I just cant stomach the thought of giving Lipps more money for any future service).I will never do business with Lipps again (which is a shame, because I have used them to open/close my pool for four years prior to this incident). This entire debacle could have been avoided had Bradley or Mike been responsive and empathetic, had they simply returned my calls, or if just one of them had had the professionalism to say You know what? We dropped the ball and were sorry -- it wouldnt have made it right (as I still would not have received the service I was expecting at the time of my purchase), but it certainly would have made the experience more palatable. Buyer beware: Lipps is happy to take your money, but less than responsive when it actually comes to doing the work or even calling you back.
Beautiful, top line spa options at very reasonable prices with fantastic service.
Definitely would not recommend this company for service related business. They are well informed and happy to sell you pool products but most services are either contracted out or handled by less then satisfactory pool technicians. Just had a slide hard plumbed to our large 41’ by 21 Doughboy above ground pool and just 3 days later pipes have busted and getting someone to attend to it is a nightmare. No return calls! I was told the manager Mike was not available when in fact you could hear him in the background talking to the person who answered the call. Still waiting for a call to schedule the repair. Installation of the pipes and tubing to the slide was a mess. PVC pipe adhesive dripped all over the pump pad pavers and on the brand new deck. The service tech acted as if he wasn’t told what the job entailed and didn’t even have the right tools to do the job. He had to use our personal tools. Again, I do NOT recommend this company for any service calls.
Friendly, helpful service
Very helpful, and informative, and had all the supplies I needed for my easy set pool(not purchased here). You dont have to be spending a ton of money here to be treated like an important customer. Would recommend them for your pool supply needs. They are happy to teach you how to care for your pool of Amy size.
I called for two reasons: to see if someone could come look at my pool and determine if it could be salvaged, and to have someone look at my hot tub to see if it could be saved. Property has been abandoned for almost two years and I would save both if it was cost effective. Talked with Brad and from the very first request I felt like I met with resistance. I have no knowledge of either pool or tub but he wanted me to go to the pool and turn on the pumps. Actually - that’s what I’m calling you for. Money was never discussed but I was prepared to pay for a service call. Evidently they don’t want the business in which case they should remove their business from the internet.
Good, but not as warm or small kids friendly as Madison, In. Pool.
I highly recommend that you document via text and save your screen shots of the communication you send these guys. I just hope the son is different than his dad... Terrible communication! If you want to be a project manager for your pool then go with these guys because you will have to follow up like youve never followed up before. Lack of attention to detail. Trust me... save every text like I did if you do use them so you are protected. Just keep everything and take lots of pictures
Too exspensive
My girlfriend bought a pool from these people last year, and the job is still not finished. There is a 2x3ft moat around the pool that was to be filled with a sand and concrete mix by the installers. We cant do it because if we do, it voids the warranty. When contacted, Lipps says they dont install pools in this fashion, but the paperwork we have says they accepted that money. They basically said to contact the installer. Lipps should have to do that, since they hired them. Eventually, they stopped returning calls... You can tell they dont care. All the negative reviews and not one response. We are currently exploring legal options.
Look elsewhere if you need a reliable pool company. I scheduled a pool closing two weeks in advance, called the morning of to confirm the appointment, and stayed home all day. They showed up, or at least told their office they did, but never bothered to knock or ring the doorbell. They then told me there was nothing they could do even though I called them 30 minutes after the end of the time window when they were supposed to show up and that their next appointment was in another 2 weeks.
Got water tested for free and pool is looking better
Lipps always does a great job for the needs of our home pool!
Had what is hard to find for pool
Did a nice job help me with my pink algae
Lipps Pools & Spa is great, I have been dealing with them for over 20 years and I highly recommend them for all of your pool and spa needs. They installed a new above ground pool for me in 1996 andI purchased a new Royal spa from them at this time. In 2001 I moved into another house which hadan inground pool, at that time I had Damon and his dad Dave measure for a new liner and they didan excellent job on my liner. This year I will be doing a total pool makeover, new concrete, decorativeblock wall, which was done last fall. I am very pleased with all the work over the years that Lipps has done for me they are a very professional and very helpful company and this is the reason I have chose them for this big project that I am having done. I will give an update after my project is totally finished.
This is rare for me to do a review but I needed to get it out somehow. The COMMUNICATION and CUSTOMER SERVICE inbetween my purchase and set up has been less than pleasurable to say the least. Mike was very informative during purchase but then communication breakdown followed. Told digging would take place one day and ended up a week later (not because of rain). Was told pool was in stock when i purchased and now it is missing a part and have to wait for setup. Was told pool would be delivered this morning and rearranged my schedule to be here and no call and no show. So I call at 11am and someone calls me at 12:15 and says they will be here this evening but cant give me a time frame???? Also told me NOT sure why someone told you it would be delivered this morning and didnt even seem concerned about the customer at all. It was a so what attitude. This does not sit well with me but pool is already paid for. WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!
This is our first and last dealing with Lipps. We purchased a hot-tub cover. When we got home after the purchase, we noticed the cover was ripped. They originally told us the cover would be repaired but would have to be sent back to the manufacturer in Tennessee. After nearly 2 months and countless phone calls to Lipps, we found out that the hot-tub cover was still sitting in the backroom. It never shipped back to the manufacturer for repair and nobody from Lipps called us with the information. We went through 2 of the coldest months of the year without a hot-tube cover. What made matters worse, is the owner would not call me back, but chose to speak with my wife instead. When she expressed her displeasure, he said there was nothing he can do and proceeded to tell my wife that we were wrong and that the information had been communicated to us. He did nothing to make the situation right. We wanted to bring our business to the hometown store, but needless to say we were highly disappointed and will never use them again. So, for now, I have a hot-tub cover that is ripped that I paid a couple hundred bucks for. What a disappointment.
We had Lipps install our pool this summer. They did a great job, from start to finish. Damon was always willing to take the time to explain our options before the installation, and he was patient in explaining how to care for the pool after the installation. We would recommend Lipps to anyone thinking about installing a pool.
Had right pool parts not expensive
Busy business. Very capable employees especially Mike. They offer every imaginable part and service related to your pool, spa and jacuzzi, including installation. Id highly recommend Lipps but also suggest patience because theyre always busy. Weve been regular customers for almost 10 years.
Amazing business, they are also exceed expectations. This is the place where we buy all the products for our business pool and they also test our water. Amazing team, they are also available to explain you anything you may need to know.
Doesnt seem like they want my business. Kinda rude too on two separate visits to buy chemicals for my softub. Not the worst but far from earning my loyalty.Update — getting better though lately.
I couldnt tell you how they are because, their unprofessional service man called me after waiting hours, to let me know that they dont like working on Cal Spas. This information could have been given to me the day I called to set up the service appointment, which was another hassle because the girl on the phone kept putting me in hold to talk with the third party. Time is precious to me especially working nights. Thanks for wasting my day and time. I could have spent this day with a more reliable company. I was warned by others about this company, but took the risk. Never again!
Good family run business with good history. A well known service to deal with (we have for 30yrs).
Above expectations.
Knowledgeable and friendly Decent price on what I purchased.
I was given a $650 part price for a $250 part for my hot tub, as I was speaking to an employee about double checking the price to make sure it was the right one, he said it would take a lil while, hesitated, then said...My BOSS just said Dont bother! 😲 WoW..what great customer service! We used them for our last few repairs & bought all our chemicals and supplies there the last 5 years...NOT ANYMORE!
I contacted Lipps Pool & Spa to repair a leak in my spa. The staff was friendly and prompt with scheduling an appointment. At the initial visit I was told the leak was caused by a faulty plug which was reinserted, but when questioned, they agreed to replace the plug. After a week the spa continued to leak so I contacted them again and they came back out. I was not charged another service call fee, but was told that the 5 inches in water drop within a week was due to evaporation and that should be expected. It was very patronizing and quite unbelievable that someone thought someone would actually believe that story. I contacted another company who diagnosed the problem and repaired the leak for little more than what I initially paid Lipps who fabricated an explanation and thought it would suffice.
Very good. Testing water gal was friendly. Joe always is great.
This place is great! They always have the hot tub parts I need, and the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Not bad prices
They have what you need. Or can order it. But this review is for there customer service. I have been I this store maybe 5 times. Not once have I ever Greeted with a hello or told thank you for my business. Lord forbid you have a question. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Great for advice about all of your pool needs.
Never went to lipps pools and spas!!!🤔
Ppl they were nice but just didnt have a lot of information
In 2010 Lipps Pools installed our expensive inground pool. During construction, the owner, Dave Lipps, was asked why there was no rebar being laid before the cement was poured. He said it was not necessary and that they use wire. There was not much of that though. When questioned again, he said if there were any cracks wider than the thickness of a quarter, he would repair it. Later that year there was a crack wider than a quarter and the cement in one area was raised about 3/8 inch above the liner. Called Dave. He finally returned the call and asked for a picture. After receipt, he said he would fix it but best to wait until the spring. In the spring the slab had settled back down so they put silicone on the crack. They were informed that that would be satisfactory as long as it did not raise up again. Guess what? The next spring (2012) it was raised up again. Called Dave. He wanted a picture. He was sent a DVD. After no call from him, he was sent some pictures of the raised cement and of the sand filter which was leaking on the seam. The DVD and the photos were both personally delivered to his store and the employees said they would be placed on Daves desk. They both had requests for return calls with the phone number. Phone calls to the store resulted in assurances that Dave would be asked to return the calls. They always said they could not resolve the problems and that Dave would have to. Dave never called and as of this writing (Sept. 2012) he still has not called. We had to have another dealer replace the defective filter and still have a cracked and raised section of deck cement. We are disappointed in his failure to address this and recommend you select another dealer for your pool construction and/or servicing needs.
