I was waited on right away and was shown exactly the kind of guitar I was looking for with no pressure to spend more than I was comfortable with. After I made a decision to buy, the owner made sure to point out a small defect on the guitar. It didnt affect how the guitar played and I appreciated his honesty..

Ive been shopping at this place on and off for over 20 years. Way back when it was in the shopping center on Mall Rd. Its been a while ago, and I had honestly forgotten about my sub par experience until I stumbled upon this place on the net. I took a Les Paul in to get it set up. The store owner did it, and did a nice job. I then took a less expensive guitar in and paid the same price for a setup done on it. When I got the guitar back (my wife dropped it off and picked it up for me since I have a busy schedule) it was obvious that a full setup wasnt done on the less expensive guitar (which was still in the $1000 dollar range). All that was done was a string change.Also, while Ive always gotten along good with the owner, the owners son is now in the shop almost every time I go in and he is extremely unpleasant to deal with. Acts like its a huge pain to have to deal with customers, and isnt friendly at all. Ive always gone here because I live in Florence, and its closer than other places, but from now on Ill probably be going across the river. At least they are much more friendly there, and if I pay for a full setup they actually do a full setup.

I recently took 3 guitars in to get them set up and was told it might take a few days which I didnt mind at all. I got a call the next day saying they were good to go. Picked them up and theyre a dream to play, action low, no issues at all, they came out better than what I got them from the factory. If you need any work done to your instrument, dont waste your time going anywhere else, definitely go here. High quality work at fair prices. Ill most certainly be going back.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. I am just learning how to play guitar and had to go get an older guitar restrung and he ended up doing more than just restringing it for me and now the guitar is a lot easier to play now. Thank yall so much!!

Fantastic music shop. I dropped off my Martin acoustic to have the action adjusted and set up. It was last minute as I had a gig to play that night. They had me going in just a little over an hour!! And the guitar played like a brand new one. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is one of the best music shops around. Darrell, the owner has a great line of guitars, basses, amps, as well as a few other types of instruments. He also makes a few custom guitars, so if youd like a custom, or if your guitar needs some attention, he can take care of that too, all at very reasonable prices.

Owner is very nice, and honest. I took a guitar to him and he said he couldnt help me. He said he was worried that the job I was asking would be too much and he was worried I wouldnt be happy with the result. Truth be told, it was a very complex wiring issue connecting a different Piezo system to an Anthem preamp in a very expensive Del Langejans acoustic... anyhow, he was honest and rather than take my money and say best of luck, he told me the truth. You can trust this shop. I will be back with more business.

I needed to have a repair to my guitar, and I was trying to find somewhere to fix it quick. So I took it to a popular music store (which shall remain nameless). And my guitar was not even touched when I came back the next day. So I decided to take it to the Sound Shoppe, and it was fixed within 10 minutes right in front of me. Quality work and service is an understatement. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, hands down best music equipment/ repair store in north Alabama.

In the past year and a half I started playing guitar, practicing, and self teaching myself all the tricks and methods. I now own 14 really nice guitars, all of wich I bought from the wonderful people at Sound Shoppe. I wouldnt want to deal with anyone else,these people love what they do, the live it, and you couldnt ask for better people.
