I went to this shop for the first time yesterday April 3, 2021 and was very pleased with the way I was treated. Ive had bad experiences at other shops ( STAY AWAY FOR THE SHOP IN GRASS VALLEY) but Folsom Coin & Currency accommodated my needs. The staff was very knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions. They had a good selection and plenty of supplies. This will be my go to shop from now on even though Its far from where I live.

This shop is the best in the entire Sacramento area. Tim (the owner) is very pleasant and informative. His prices for both buying and selling are excellent. He is VERY trustworthy, informative, and .is more than willing to work with the customer. I have been buying/selling with him for many years and have found no other dealer better than Folsom Coin and Currency. I highly recommend this shop and owner.

They have been very helpful when it comes to asking questions about US currency and gold. They do have a markup on spot prices of gold, but then thats how they make their living. Very friendly and courteous.

This is my second time selling gold at Folsom Coins and Currency. I had a fun financial surprise when my roommate came up short on rent, and was forced to sell one of my precious gold coins for quick cash. Every other shop I talked to gave me a ridiculous lowball offer, but Folsom Coins and Currency offered me a fair price. Only a few bucks less than the big online dealers offer, but without the hassle of shipping and waiting days for a check (days I didnt have). They made the experience totally pleasant, and are just generally nice people.I also checked out their selection of older American currency and it looked like a much better selection than any of the other shops I tried. Some really nice looking buffalo nickels.Why would you go anywhere else? Dont waste your time. This shop is the best in the whole Sacramento area. You absolutely will not find a better deal or nicer people at a local shop. I was so happy with my experience I took the time to write this review!

I have been to lots of coin shops up and down the area. By far this place is my favorite. The nicest people, fairest pricing, most knowledgeable staff, best selection and just a great place and a great experience every time. It’s nice to shop at a place that loves and knows about what they are selling. Great place. Can’t say enough great things.

My son has been going in to see Tim for over 2 years. I went with him at first (age 16) and quickly learned that Tim and the staff were knowledgeable and fair AND spoke to him pretty well at his age and understanding of the hobby and investment side. They also spoke to me without being patronizing (which I have encountered) since coins are not my cup o tea. I am impressed as my now 18 year old continues to grow in knowledge and collection size in great part due to this shop.

Nervous about selling your coins or gold? I was. Id convinced myself that I was going to have to sell everything online. Imagine my surprise when I went to Folsom Coin & Currency this morning and found them to be knowledgeable, friendly, and very fair. Frankly, I was shocked how easy they made the process of selling my coins and gold. Ive got more coins to sell. So, you know Ill be back!

Ive never been to coin store before, but I found out they buy and I had some to sell. I checked a couple of other place around town and this place paid the highest amount, by a substantial margin. Throw in some incredible customer service and you have a winner. Thanks Tim.

Was in the area from Phoenix visiting family and decided to stop by and see what they had. Owners were knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They gave me a couple great deals even though I wasnt buying much quantity. Would definitely recommend to friends.

I agree with other reviewers who have said this is the only place to go to in the Sacramento region to buy or sell gold or silver. They give you a straight, fair price right from the start. It would be a waste of time to haggle, because they flat out offer you the best price youre going to find.As a bonus, they are truly friendly and welcoming and treat you like a friend they are happy to see. In a genuine, old-time coin shop sort of way.I have shopped around and can honestly say this is the best youre going to do. As someone else noted, you could go to an online outfit, where you might get a better price. But I assure you, that is not always so. On at least two occasions, Tim offered me the same price I was offered by APMEX, without the hassle and expense (and risk!) of shipping and insuring, and then waiting a week or two to get paid. On another occasion, I could have gotten a slightly better price from APMEX, but after shipping and insurance, APMEX wasnt any better.The man is as honest as they come, and thats what Im looking for in any business, but especially a coin dealer!
