Everything went well during the installation process. They arrived at the appointed time. The installers were courteous, hard working and detail oriented. They will replace, free of charge, a section of one window that had a small dent that I didnt even notice. It was honest of them to bring this to my attention. Replaced 7 windowsFrom my first call to request a quote you can tell how professional this company is. I did not receive an answering machine, but a real person that was very professional. Told her that I was interested in receiving a quote to replace 7 windows. She scheduled Doug to come out in a few days. When Doug arrived, I showed him the windows I wanted replaced, he provided me a few options as well as cost. I liked the window he recommended and place the order. From there the ladies in the office took over, keeping me up to date. I was told at the start that the windows will be in the last week of Dec, first week in Jan. In the middle of Dec I received a call that they will be in the first week of Jan and the install was scheduled. The day of the install a team of 3 professional men arrived. The first thing they did was protect my property, then install the windows as well as did a great job at cleaning up. The best part was the next day I received a call from Mindy (one of the ladies in the office) to find out how everything when and was I happy with the work and windows. It is nice that a company cares, not just take your money. I want to thank everyone at Universal Windows.

Simply stated, we had UWD come out 4 times over the course of 2 years, we had our windows and doors (Patio and Front and installed screen) done in batches as finances allowed for the work to be done. Happy each time the work was complete, yes work gets quoted at 8-12 weeks or so, but I think in each case the windows were in a bit earlier. Happy the work is done, and have recommended their services to local neighbors who have asked about our windows.

Tried to get them to commit to a installation date, the best they could do is say from 2-3 months. Also no refund on deposit of 1/2 instead of the usual 1/3 after 3 days. So they can delay job indefinitely without returning your money. THis is against the NJ business codes.

Very pleased with Universal Windows Direct. New ProVia sliding glass patio door is simply amazing. Its just a patio door yes, but the venting lock mechanism and ease of operation is so much better than the Anderson tank it replaced. Its a quality product for sure and we love the internal mini blinds. Our installation team was very good at what they do. You dont have to babysit these guys at all which makes everything that much easier and stress free. Installation is definitely done professionally which is what you want for your home. The secretary and salesman were also very easy to communicate with and work with. For my future needs of windows and doors Ill definitely be calling this team.

Universal Windows installed all of the windows at my parents house years ago and theyve been great! And when one of the windows would no longer stay up, I was lucky enough to find Dougs contact info in my Dads phone. Everything was great with the window replacement. One of the windows in my apartment had a leaking issue becuase it was installed wrong from the previous owner, so I had to replace it with a smaller window. Doug and his team did a great job. New windows and doors look great. They had to fix some problems from the old door and siding installation and added some extra shielding to make sure the door was properly sealed. This was the second time we used them and would still go back to them.

We had them install several windows, and new glass and screen sliding doors about 9 years ago, The work and materials came with a lifetime warranty. Their excellent salesman just stopped by this evening to adjust the rollers on the screen slider. I called the company asking for help, and expected to have an installer or repairman visit and charge me $ Doug didnt charge me for the quick but excellent fix...these folks stand behind their products!! I highly recommend them. The windows they installed 9 years ago still look new. I wouldnt even bother with any other vendor if I need more replacement windows. Spend your renovation dollars here, you wont regret it!!

Michelle took her time answering numerous questions, and even called back the same day with some further information. We did not opt to get a quote, since we need a lot of work beyond windows, and opted for a one-stop contractor that could address all of our exterior needs, but if our needs had not been so extensive, I certainly would have scheduled a quote, based on the outstanding contact I had with Michelle.

This is the second time we used Universal Windows. This project was replacement of 25 windows in a two family rental home. Doug the owner quickly replied to a request for quote; met and measured quickly at the property, while explaining any issues as he observed. He had samples of the actual windows with him and answered all our questions while explaining the features and benefits of the choices. We selected the UniShield Plus as we used these previously in another home. Doug provided a very competitive quote as we have researched this market thoroughly. Installation was completed in one day. Rob the installation manager and crew does a very professional job. He also went out of his was to explain an issue with the 2nd floor fire escape ladder system installed by the egress window (not related to Universal). We have since had this serious issue addressed. In 2009, my wife and I used Universal Windows Direct to install a big picture window in our living room. The window has been great especially during this recent very cold 2013 - 2014 winter. The team installed the large 3 section window in no time. They were very neat and explained everything they were doing. All questions were answered.In 2014 We noticed the latches were beginning to rust. I sent them some pictures. they ordered the parts and came right away to replace them.I would definitely recommend Universal Windows Direct.

I got 20 double hung windows + 2 picture windows installed in my house at New Providence, NJ. All of my communication from the beginning to end was with Doug Conners who was extremely professional all along. The prices were negotiated to a reasonable price comparable to those from other companies. The installation was done very neat and clean. The only problem I had was them having brought the wrong size windows for the bathrooms for which I had to wait another week or so for replacement. Above & Beyond on Work Performed & Service, Cost were Very Competitive.

First off this company is in Wood Bridge now, not Fords. My husband found them on Angies List, where they had hundreds of great reviews, and we used them to replace 17 windows in our 1955 house whose windows were as old as the house. We are in our late 20s and this is our first house, and we bought it knowing it needed a LOT of work including new windows. This was as worthwhile an investment as gutting and completely renovation our kitchen, which we did around the same time. UDW had a big part in helping us turn our ugly duckling house into something beautiful and nice to live in.Prices were very reasonable and exactly what we wanted to spend. We had looked into buying from two other companies, and UWD beat their prices. However they werent SO inexpensive that I doubted the validity of the product/installation. Their windows are Polaris brand, which my husband (who researches everything he buys down to a T) really liked.Doug was friendly and we enjoyed working with them. I think it took 4 weeks for the windows to come in and about 6 hours for the guys to install them. We came home to beautiful looking, functional, easy-to-clean windows and we are very happy with them. We have to replace a front door, a rear door, and we want to install an 8 foot slider in our dining room in the next few years and we will use them. They also said they could build us a deck - which we need when we install the slider. Our bay window is in need of some structural repairs too which we will likely do down the line. I feel comfortable using UWD for all these jobs, because they do great work, install nice products, and dont charge you an arm and a leg.My only criticism is that when the installers took out the old windows, the paint chips got all over the ground surrounding our house, and are still there two months later. I thought this was something easily avoidable using a large tarp or something. Our yard is really crappy and needs major landscaping work so it doesnt matter really, but if I had a nice flower bed and it got covered in paint chips I would be pissed. The inside of the house they left neat and tidy.
