Took my boat To get winterized and detailed when I got the boat back last week it was completely trashed it’s been sitting outside all winter I would not recommend this place the owner Jason will not respond. Also charges were put on my cards that i didnt authorize. I have to take my boat to Halberg marina to get the maintenance done and winterized
All these reviews made me nervous after dropping my boat off. I am pleased to say that my boat runs great after picking it up. Great value for the work that was done. Took a week longer than originally quoted. I had to call for an update and he had it done 4 days later. I will return here for future work.
Absolutely loved my experience at Forest lake Marine. Guys are very knowledgeable and highly educated in what they are doing. Pricing was unbeatable and I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest and exceptional marine work. Great job guys and Thank you for the great experience!
Had a great experience with an urgent repair needed prior to a fishing trip. They squeezed me in and did a great job. Will return for future repairs if needed. Thank you!
Dropped boat off on July 15 for carb cleaning, was told it would be done on July 20. I called July 22 for update understanding it was summer boat season. It was it wasnt ready yet waiting on gaskets. July 27th waiting on gaskets, August 2nd waiting on gaskets per Jason said if they werent in on Monday 8/5 he would personally go get them and have boat ready on 8/7. August 10 told by Jason still waiting on gaskets, I explained my frustration he said hed get back to me by end of business day with a solution, no call. August 15 first phone call from them telling me about...gaskets and that they would pick them up that day and gave me a price quote and asked for authorization to do the work..really!?? Boat was completed 1 month after drop off. They offered no explanation to the gasket mystery or even an apology of the poor communication. Keep looking for repair shops!
Brought my boat in for service. I was having a motor issue. It was making a noise and wouldn’t stay running. They said all it needed was a carb rebuild and my motor was bulletproof. Paid around a thousand for the bill. I picked it up and it was making a ticking noise. I brought it back they said it was my reeds and I don’t need to worry. It never made that noise before. First outing with it and my motor blows. They say they stand behind their work but they don’t they chose to do nothing about my issue. I filed a complaint with the bbb. They still won’t do anything. The objective is to have my boat repaired not blow up after it gets service done. Bad customer service no warranty or accountability. Go the Frankie’s down the road.
UPDATE: I am currently in the process of suing Forest Lake Marine for Fraud!!I have documented proof that they charged me for work NEVER performed and parts that they never replaced. I gave Jason and Barb ample time to resolve this issue (it took Jadon over 2 weeks to call me back). In the end, Jason couldn’t supply any supporting documentation like he said that he could and told me that I had to take his word for it..I have receipts (showing that the impeller that Jason and his team replaced was actually bought 3 years ago by my dad), notes from the other Marine shop that I had to go to to get my Boat fixed stating how “old” my new impeller looked. I initially left a 5 star review because at the time I meant it..However, I didn’t know that Jason and his team operated like this (read some of the other reviews)I will be taking Jason and his company to small claims court to make this right.
Jason the owner doesnt return calls and blows by every promised due date. Trust me, dont go here
I took my boat in to get repaired the service was fast friendly and good I would recommend these guys
The technician that did the repairs to my pontoon was quality. The $500 in trip charges was insane. You will never get a reply, Jason will never explain why. Id even offered to pick up the part as it was purchased by them at Nelson Marine. Just another bad news bear of a poor businessman.
Horrible experiance with Forest Lake Marine. Do not trust anything they say. Extremely poor business practices along with careless workmanship. The comment below is another example of Forest Lake Marines misrepresentation of facts caused by their lack of attention to detail and poor assumptions. I am in fact a former customer. And that is why I am trying to warn anyone, so that they do not have to share the same experiance I had with this business.
They never call to tell you anything.
