Brought my well behaved dog in on a leash. Passed by 6 employees before being yelled at by an employee trying to claim that all Menards have never allowed pets (was not the case until recently due to covid). He was extremely rude. Just one more reason for switching over to Home Depot- right across the street.

Ive got no complaints.Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Was one of those deals I had to make my own mousetrap and a couple employees took time to help me. 🙏

Recently, my husband and I bought 34 2x4x8 pieces of lumber. We were so impressed with the young man who took the time to load all 34 2x4s into our truck and checked each one to see that it was straight. We loved the service at the Forest Lake Menards and want to compliment the staff especially the young man who helped us.

Menards is a good choice for different spring blooming bulbs, not the routine tulips and daffodils, which they also have.Somehow, blooms in the snow are such a cheerful sight.

I really like this menards. They usually have everything you need for home projects and if they dont they suggest where to get it. The staff is knowledgeable and when someone is new or doesnt know about something they find someone who does or help figure out how it works. Ive been to a lot of menards locations, some are dirty, run down, out dated or have people who dont care (attitude). Not all are like that, however, I prefer this forest lake location.

Kinda hidden on 61 and narrow entrance in front of their neighbor but worth the navigation challenges. Gordon is a good guy and will make sure your vehicle is safe and well serviced.

Terrible experience. Do NOT recommend. Needed 1 item. Website said Forest Lake store had 4 of these items in stock. Asked three staff, including some kind of supervisor, for assistance. Their responses were: This is not my department, and, Sometimes the count is wrong online. No additional offers for help. Do yourself a favor and shop at Home Depot across the street where your business is valued and staff are MUCH more professional and helpful!!

Outside Garden center doors not open weekdays. Supervisor stated because cashiers needed in main store. Required to walk through store into garden center. Prefer being safe and enter garden center quickly direct from parking to shop plants. Always good variety of lumber and supplies.

Menards is the best hardware/building materials/home improvement store of its kind. The materials are great quality, the selection of materials and items is the biggest of any home improvement store of its kind and the prices are the best.I added some random pics through the store to give an idea of all the kinds of things Menards has to offer.

I like Menards, sans the paint department. They are always so impatient with any question you have. Got talked down to like a two year old because I asked about the closest color they had for a green I was looking for and was told by the woman we cant possibly match the color on your phone. It doesnt matter what brand, just pick one. No paint stick, just slammed everything on the counter told me to come back in ten minutes. Cool. I was able to match the color myself and its 100% to the shade. I just wanted helpful recommendations.My father in-law went there for a paint stick and he had similar treatment where they told him only our competitors give those away. You need to buy them. I went to Home Depot across the road for my next painting project and they were so nice and informed me about the best paint to choose and they were so quick to get it to me (plus a lid key and paint stick were a free addition). Home Depot is getting more and more of my business these days.

Good deals, fully stocked, but had some trouble finding material, and when I asked where to locate, given wrong information, find it on my own.

Customer sevice is above average. For some odd reason it does not seem to be as big as some of the other ones, but it is stocked fairly well. Prices are decent, the lumber and other Menard speacial products are ok, but most products dont really compare in quality to Lows and Home Depot etc... But really cant complain... prices somehow reflect it... Good place to get sheetmetal though, cheapest I have seen around.

Finding paint and suppliies to make over a few rooms in our home. Carpet for room if beautiful and thick. Cabinets for kitchen #1 and great people to help.

MY wife cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons, we got in the store, did our shopping without problem and she was than kicked out at the checkout for not wearing a mask. This would be the same as kicking out someone in a wheelchair or who is a color they do not like. It is discrimination and we will not be shopping at this store any longer.

Asked someone to help me get down a table saw up on a shelf. Younger kid of course. He said. Im not sure I dont think so. Then helped another guy that asked him a question and I sat there waiting then just left and bought one at home depot across the street. Customer service just isnt there anymore. No wonder Amazon has grown to the worlds largest distributor.

They have a lot of stuff for your house, car, big assortment of tools, lots of nuts and bolts, lawn care products.Unfortunately during this time a lot of stuff is not in stock for the stuff I needed unlike homedepot where they had a wide variety of in-stock lawn mowers and garden tools for what I needed.

They always have what we need. Also, there was a young man in the decking area that was very knowledgeable.

We bought a paint sprayer that does not work properly. They will not allow me to return the item to the store. They requested I contact the manufacturer. I made sure to read their entire return policy and their item should NOT be excluded from being returned. I then asked for assistance on insulation for a concrete flooring and the employee had no idea how to help. I then asked for someone who could and I was told he would just show me where the insulation sheets are but he was not sure if anyone could help me decide what I needed. I took a guess at what we needed and am praying it works out.

This deserves -5 stars Im pregnant with bad anxiety and breathing problems but yet they could care less I had to have my mask down cuz I was and could hardly breath but yet JAKE that was checking us out freaked out even after explaining what was going on so he called a manger over and we told her which she looked super confused about the whole thing like dude ring them up but then she ended up making me leave the story 1 my baby is more important then a mask 2 they shouldnt have acted like they did what are they gonna do when they get sued for someone getting hurt cuz they passed out cause they couldnt breath its ok ill be telling everyone about this and Ill be call corporate about this cuz theres no reason they needed to act the way they did

Menards has a good selection of feeders and shepherd hooks/hangers during the summer, especially compared to its nearby competitor. (However, its competitor has nicer house plants and garden plants.) I also dig the selection and quality of Halloween and Christmas decorations.Of course, its gotcha covered for basic home improvement and cleaning products.

My business will be going to another company. The mask police are out of control! Now its a choice. You cant hide behind the Govenors order anymore. Thats also why I wont shop here again

Was great. Got a beautiful flowering crabapple tree. Best part was the customers. A nice man carried the tree to counter for me. Then after paying, two nice people tipped in for me so I could get it out the door. Then in parking lot couldnt fit in my car and a nice couple stopped to help. Had to call my son to come with a truck but my phone was dead. So they offered their cell. Just have to say Forest Lake Mn has the nicest people! Wow!!

Was sent from person to person for help. Finally flagged someone down to help me.

My wife and I were in the forest lake Menards about a month ago. She went up to the return counter and took a nasty fall on the tile floor their insurance company would pay for her medical. And their letter they said she knew the conditions outside the manager she called twice has yet to return her calls. What the hell is wrong with this place. They have the camera footage and can see how hard she hit the floor. You should be ashamed of how you have treated this woman! Shame on menards for how they have blown off my wife.

Now for the 11th time with special orders at this location I received zero text messages/emails/calls that they have been in. So I call to check like I have been for all the previous times. This time..... I get Jess on the other end with an extremely rude “well, did you get an email or text?” I say “no, that’s why I’m calling to check with you since I haven’t received any in the past either!” Attitude is everything, so is a person that chooses to be rude and extremely irritated that I even asked a question. My advise on all special orders is call and check, they are not going to let you know. I hope no one else has to deal with that person.

The Executive Order includes exemptions to the face covering mandate for people with certain medical conditions, mental health conditions, or disabilities. When a customer or visitor claims to be exempt due to a medical or mental health condition or disability, businesses may not require proof of the condition or disability, or require customers or visitors to explain the nature of their condition or disability. Yes I was wearing a mask over my mouth...but it was not pulled over my nose due to a medical condition. Mr Menards might want to train his cashiers not to be confrontational towards people as they check out. I might also add I was over 6 feet from said cashier...and noted several employees also wearing their masks like myself.

I love my guy in the electrical dept, he is always very helpful and knows where every little thing I need is including screw sizes for each thingy I need. And he knows what I mean by thingy! Favorite store ever!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Extremely rude employees. Rude cashiers. Follow you around harassing good people trying to spend money at their store for not wearing a mask properly to there standards. Not caring about medical conditions. But you can touch everything an put it back for someone else to touch. Literally yell at you for not having a mask up but touch all your stuff after touching other peoples things and not washing hands or card reader in-between customers. Place is a joke. Wont get another penny from me.

I used to Cambridge Menards. Forest lake store is big but again choices are different. But like Menards. I use a Big card and pay monthly. Saves me money.

Clean store, masks available and most people wear them, store has good stock. I dont like the parking lot but there isnt a lot that can be done about that. Its a pretty good Menards.

Show up, willing to wear a mask. We needed to buy a mask for my husband. Customer service line was 9 people deep and they expected us to wait a half hour just to get a mask.... what a joke

Forest Lake Menards did an excellent job when I needed help on an irrigation project using PVC pipe. They even cut the pipe for me. Very helpful and gave me a better product for my needs at a cheaper price.

Requiring a mask? Really? If I want to wear one I would, its my own health Im risking others can choose to wear a mask. Its not even logical given that everyone is touching the same stuff anyways. Hey prevent Corona one way but get it another way. For real?! Donate the masks to a hospital and stop charging and not letting people in if they dont have a mask.

I frequent Forest Lake Menards here and there to pick up items I need. Normally they have everything I need. I was looking for a hinge for a cupboard. The person back in cabinetry was extremely helpful.The return process at Menards is one of the best. Always kind people working at the return counter.

Great hardware store. You need to wear a mask to go inside due to COVID right now. Head everything we were looking for. Prices are very reasonable but assume you will be dealing with mail in rebates. Store is large like a home Depot and has a drive through pick up.

Employee at paint and stain section had trouble with helping one customer at a time. Started helping me then went on to help two other customers forgetting about us. Otherwise a smooth experience.

Not sure who made the command decision to turn away customers not wearing masks today (something only suggested by state guidance). I’ve got enough people telling me what to do these days. Good thing there is a Home Depot right across the street (never seen it this busy before).

I like Menards. I know where most everything is and everyone I talk to is helpful and friendly.

Bought 18 pails of sealer on line, drove straight into the lost, pails were loaded on a pallet. Never touched anything and didnt go into the store. Awesome! And by the way, the person working was great too.

Went in looking for one product in particular and couldnt find it. Customer service was excellent and provided me the answer straight away allowing for a quick in and out with a minimal to no contact shopping experience.

Menards has a pretty good selection of everything. It has all your building materials but also pretty much anything you need for your home, lawn, patio, and even a few things automotive or mechanical. As far as prices go they are cheaper then home depot on almost everything. Menards mills their own lumber so they usually can beat home depots price on wood. There is some debate about the quality of green treated wood not lasting as long as home depots green treat; in a side by side ground contact study menards green treat did not last as long but was cheaper....

Management unprofessional, contractor desk people seem too arrogant for their own good, building materials knows absolutely nothing about product or location. Yard guys are good. If it wasn’t for the dummy thicc cashiers with friendly smiles I wouldn’t ever come here again keep it up ladies your their last hope for customer service.

Menards has a little of everything! Prices reasonable. Unlike other hardware stores that gears towards men, Menards caters to all family members!! Their seasonal indoor showroom is fun to walk through getting you in the spirit to shop!

My husband and I went shopping this evening at Menards. We were there around 5pm. Like most stores these days, there was police caution tape organizing the flow of traffic going into the store plus what look like a bouncer standing outside the door. He was pacing back and forth, wearing a bandana and YELLING at anyone who came near the front door that unless they were wearing a mask they were not allowed inside the store. If they did not have a mask, one could be purchased inside the front doors. I am a front line nurse. I am forced to re-wear my mask daily. Yet somehow, Menards has decided to make a profit off of selling masks for their own financial gain. With many, many masks littering the parking lot once customers left the building. KINDNESS matters these days. We left and will not return again. There is NO need to be rude and the person guarding the door was definitely not KIND. He was bully and obviously loved doing his job. Ineffectively and full of judgement of others.

Nice and quiet for Saturday night. Speedy service!!
