All staff were very polite and helpful any time assistance was needed
I went in early today to a very dirty store. Had to go outside to the parking lot to get my own cart.I used to love shopping here, especially for the produce and friendly cashiers but this particular store keeps getting dirtier and for the price of their grocerys, I do not want to have to wrangle my own shopping cart. This was not the first time, I could understand if it is a holiday rush, but come on- it was a Thursday morning.I might as well go to the other stores in town, pay less and not have the hastle.
My two children and I had a wonderful shopping experience tonight…..Up until we were going to check out. Then along came Laurie/Lori, a cashier here at the local Forest Lake Cub FoodsPersonally I really like self check out, mainly because I am able to be in control of my shopping experience and bag the groceries as we go so the kids aren’t waiting as long whereas when a cashier checks us out we have a super long line of groceries to bag up and if another person is behind us I always feel rushed. I like to bag my groceries with freezer food and other refrigerated items not just tossed in a grab bag amongst non perishable items….Well Laurie thought it was a better idea I NOT go into self checkout even though I told her I would prefer it and I budget grocery costs just in case I go over my spending limit by a hair I am able to hold back on items we could do withoutFirst off, a good rule of thumb in business especially groceries since my aunt owns Festival Foods and my extended family is also in the grocery business—-If someone chooses to be in self checkout, they are well aware cashiers are available, but perhaps their overall preference is to have this be their own responsibility and sometimes, it’s personal preferences for good reasons such as this encounter.Laurie then acted as if she knew my six year old son and kept asking him “are you okay buddy? You okay?” Oddly I wasn’t bothered too much by these insinuating questions and I carried on to the groceries to be bagged up as they were really piling up…turns out my six year old had no clue who she even was. Weird! My son went to go sit down as my three year old was in the cart and started whining and having a mini tantrum wanting to go and sit by his older brotherThat is when the stress started amplifying and here is Laurie, still asking both of my children if they are okayNow I was getting irritated and instead of saying something directly to her, I started to rush bagging just kind of throwing everything in just to get away from this cashierThen came the part where this “Laurie” ran the belt and then squished all our bread and little buns we had tossed in the mix!!! Unreal! Please for future customers and other single mothers sakes that enter your store, yes all of our children are quite okay and as if the shopping experience with two young kids wasn’t at times stressful enough, cashiers such as Laurie should try to make our lives a bit easier and perhaps carry on age appropriate conversations with three and six year old children. Perhaps ask me if I’m okay…as I have been grieving a loss that was and is still close to my heart. Today was actually a better day than others as of lately and instead of being grief stricken, I felt good enough to go and get some groceries with my family.Laurie, you never know what ppl are going thru when they enter the store. We come from all walks of life and rest assured, all the kids are quite okay. Thanks for making the shopping trip very awkward and I will be going elsewhere for my groceries in the future. Don’t worry about the bread you ruined and squished amongst the canned food and milk ——we will replace these items! Treat the next customer with dignity and respect please, you never know who will leave a review and mention your name and the experience you created.
One of the cashiers that I went to today was so awesome. He was very patient, fast with the food, looked like he really knew what he was doing and to top it off he was amazing with his manners and was so respectful. I hope I see him again! I think his name was Tyler.
Where do I begin. So many negative experiences at this store. Yesterday I purchased about $45 worth of groceries - at least 3 of those items had tags on the shelf indicating a sale price. When I checked my receipt I was charged full price. Can we all sign a petition to get a Hy-Vee in forest lake?
Love that its 24 hours especially when everything else is closed its convenient. I cant say Ive never had any issues here, the staff disinfect self checkout after each customer.
Great supermarket in Forest Lake! A little on the spendy side sometimes but worth it.
Lisa in the dairy department is a sweetheart. My son is fussy about a certain cheese for pizza. Whole milk mozzarella cheese. I never realized there wasn’t a difference. I thought mozzarella is mozzarella. 1 pack was left and she found it.I searched hard but she helped me find it.Thanks so much Lisa. I’ll be coming shopping up in Forest Lake Cub more.
I have been shopping here for over two years now and I buy a certain kind of V8 splash juice (Cherry and pomegranate) it’s basically the only one that is empty about 8 out of 10 trips here they will have one bottle or maybe two. I have asked the stocking person and managers to please stock more of it and to this day nothing. You would think with today’s technology that they would get a clue and realize it’s the best selling stuff and maybe they should stay on top of it!? So I just had to drop it from two stars down to one star today’s date is April 6, 2019 I have been back to the store approximately 17 different times I have spoke to the store manager I’ve spoken to the person in charge of ordering and still the same issues with the V8 splash cherry pomegranate so off to Blaine cub to pick up my groceries yet again so it only adds on another 50 some miles just to pick up my juice way to go Forest Lake cub!!!
Its not the same these last couple years. Produce doesnt seem as fresh. Bag lettuce seems to go bad faster. Sometime bag spinach appears to be over wet inside. Was it kept too cold?Advertised sale items go fast. Maybe not stocking as much.Sometimes wish they didnt advertise so you can get what you need. I just dont plan on it.Layout of store good on finding stuff and offer a good selection to choose from.
Good customer service. Great produce and bakery
Great stock of items. Good COVID practices. Easy to find what I need.
Staff at pharmacy are helpful and friendly. Monika is very helpful.
Customer service desk employee on 12/12/20 around 12 pm was extremely rude. Dont need to be scolded by adult and told to read the big yellow sign about getting discount with Cub reward card.
Its Cub Foods. Its better than some. Well stop at this one when were in Forest Lake so we dont have to stop at the one in Cambridge. Well stop at a lot of other Cubs so we dont have to stop at the one in Cambridge.
Bought a prepared meatloaf. Sat down for dinner tonight. My god it was like it hade 2 cans of salt in it. I couldn’t eat more than one bite. Waste of money.
Rude service, prices are high.
Cub is pretty good but it is A large store and you do A lot of walking to get what you want. They were open 24 hours and it was nice that I could get my shopping done in the middle of the night on my way home from work but now that Im retired I dont go there much anymore. Aldis is much handier for me now days but Cub does take coupons and Aldis does not so it depends on the sales and any coupons I have If I go there.
Reliable place for me and my brown brethren to grab curry ingredients and rice.
Being the only traditional grocery store in town give the clear advantage. Hardly any out of stock items, except for when the 2020 covid panic began. My largest complaint is that the frito lays people are almost always there crowding up the isle with their cardboard and large carts, and it still seems they have a hard time stocking their merchandise.
Floors are always so clean! But not enough plastic bags in produce dept. for produce. Put out MORE!
Love my experience, you have full stocked shelves. 💝💝
No workers were behind the meat department. It was only 6:30pm so it was odd I was unable to be helped. May have been for the best since the prepared burgers behind the counter looked as if they had been sitting for one too many days. I would avoid this Cub and go the nearby walmart for safer food.
This is my least favorite Cub Ive ever had to shop at. They can not keep anything stocked.
Former worker at Cub. If you are an advocate for workers rights, don’t shop here. I’m serious. I was harassed on the daily by my coworkers and management did nothing, the pay was nearly nonexistent with barely any breaks. It sucked
Friendly staff. Decent prices. Fresh good produce.
Shelves not stocked timely, bakery bread is never on the shelves until later in the day. At least a few times a month I have to drive to other stores to get what I need. Was just at Cub and had to have some help with purchasing some mulch, the person who helped me was not very pleasant, because she had to ring each bag up separately. She said if I went to the reg cashier they would not have had to. I said thank you after she was done, no reply back. I will not be back to this store, there was an issue with the self checkout and the person who had to help was extremely rude.
Great service...Fair prices except for produce.
They have a great selection of different foods, especially if you need to eat gluten free. The sales are great and the staff is always really friendly. I love that they have a piece of free fruit for kiddos while shopping. Very nice! Always clean, too.
They dont bag your groceries. Thats something I would want to know as a first time customer. The rest of the store is good. Higher prices than other places.
Clean, helpful staff but a bit pricey
The fresh veggies and fruit are the best selection in the area. The store is clean and no foul smells. Every interaction I’ve had with store personnel has been friendly and courteous. The parking lot is well kept. Open 24hrs a big plus
So I actually enjoy Cub quite a bit, they are well stocked, fresh, and usually friendly... What gets me now is this closing at 9 stuff, it makes no sense at all... and all these 24hr stores are following suit. So you close at 9 to decrease possible exposures to Covid? Alright let’s think about this logically, now you just took your customer base, and gave them smaller windows to shop during. Anyone who shopped late now has to shop early(if they can, most us working Americans work til 9-10pm) the ones that shop early mornings now have to wait til open (again if they can due to work) Now all the people that shopped when you are now closed add to the people during the day, increasing possibilities of exposure. You can say you close to sanitize, but now the CDC came out and said that Covid wasn’t being transferred by touch as much as they originally thought... Regardless, from a logical standpoint closing at 9 is ridiculous... especially going from 24hr to 9 all that did was screw over part of your customer base... With the state reopening it may be time to reconsider your hours before Wal-Mart gets the jump on it.
Love cub! Wish they still carried the CO² coconut water in different flavors still.
Very nice selection of food in a comfortable feeling building. Friendly checkout service. The rewards program is nice for saving money.
The chicken at cub is hard to beat.
Employees are extremely rude if you ask them anything. Especially the gal in the deli slamming the ham that needs to be sliced. Seems like they need some customer service training.
Still not too over crowded
Cub has such a wide range of items from fresh fruits and vegetables to an actual butcher shop. The bakery is good. The deli carries a wide variety of salads plus hot chicken, meatballs, wings, potatoes and gravy and on and on. Its a great place with friendly staff. Flower market is wonderful too.
I came to this store specifically as I needed tomatillos, which arent that readily available. I bought other produce as well, and in the end I wound up with a watermelon, pineapple and tomatillos that were ALL BAD. Very disappointing produce at high prices.
Its cub, they have decent stuff. Wish there was a better seafood selection
Awesome place to pick up things for the big weekend
Great prices very clean store great customer service very helpful staff very organized made my shopping very easy to do. And if you sign up with the cover app you get notices of the weekly ad 2 days before its going to be released to anybody else so its nice to get a little heads up on whats for sale. Cub always has what I need theyre never out of anything like Walmart is. So overall I would rate this a good 9 out of 10. I definitely will be back to do all my grocery shopping here at Cub.
Don’t do curbside pickup unless you place your order 8 hours early because apparently 6 hours isn’t enough time. Sat in my car for an hour waiting since they were running behind. I literally could have cancelled my order from the parking lot and went and got my 9 items in 10 minutes. Never again will I do this.
Great produce and meat departments
Shelves are getting stocked, one of the floor people said they were on strike, didnt even know they were union. Make the managers stock, youre losing money on your overpriced stock, otherwise youll go away like rainbow foods
Staff at the store are always very helpful and courteous. The vegetable and fruit and bakery goods are exceptional. We buy all our birthday and special occasion cakes and desserts there.
Lets face it anything is better than shopping at walmart. Even though this place is staffed with alot of walmart rejects people that were fired by walmart. The quality is not rotten like walmart and does not smell bad like walmart. Prices are a bit high but worth not going to walmart.
Good deal on creamer for coffee.
Ive gone to this location for over 10 years. I used to be a regular shopper here, but I save so much more money going to Aldi and Wal-Mart in the area. Otherwise, the store is very clean and staff are very nice! If You are willing to spend more on groceries, I recommend this location!
Cub has much better variety for grocery items then the other stores in Forest Lake. I like that it is open 24 hours because I sometimes work late and cant get to the store during normal hours. I love that they offer exotic items that would otherwise be difficult to find in this area. Most of the staff are kind.Im not a fan of the Instacart service. I only used it once and what would have been around $45-50 at Walmart ended up costing me $75 at Cub. On top of that -- the girl that was selecting my items texted me asking what alternative I would prefer for a Brita filter and when I told her the price and name of the one she showed me a picture of, she went for a faucet filter instead. Which I started texting her to try and change. She checked out and nullified the text messages before I could ask her to remove the item. Didnt notify me when she was done loading up the car either, just walked away and said nothing.Returning the filter was a pain. The customer service desk staff was irritated that I asked to return the item and told me to take it up with Instacart. She said I cant do anything without a receipt, and ignored me when I told her I did have one: it was emailed to me at check-out and I tried to show her. Best she said they could do was give me a Cub gift-card for the amount of the filter.Cub has great variety, just a shoddy pick-up service.
Very nice and large grocery store. I was able to find everything I needed and more. Lots of options for vegetarians too. Nice produce and helpful staff.
Theyre open 24 /7 AND WALMART IS NOT .
Feels old and dated and I get confused everytime with eggs in 3 different locations.. why? I also tend to skip over the bakery and some of the meat because I cut through produce and then hit up dairy and remember later but dont want to walk back. Nit my fav
Great breads and donuts!!! Large selection of cheeses.
Less busy than Walmart when alls I need is groceries. Staff is well trained and friendly
Worst experience ever the cashier and the manager they were upset that I wanted what I wanted they wanted me to settle for the kind of pop that they wanted to get me
They are always quick and friendly with the drive up service. The customer service was amazing and the selection is great!
Very clean. Has everything you need. Especially no GMO food.
I dont think Ive walked in here once and felt welcomed by employees. Im not saying I want the full out customer service experience but I simple nod or hi would do, but they basically just ignore you. Also be careful when buying food from here. 3 times now Ive bought stuff that was bad. First time I bought a sac of potatoes, two days later they were moldy. Another time I bought a bag of little donuts to bring to the cabin, didnt realize they expired the day before I bought them. And the final time I bought the same type of donuts on September 15, 2017. Brought them to the cabin for bow opener and opened them up and they were completely covered in mold and the date showed they expired September 1, 2017. How disgusting, I know its partially my fault for not checking the expiration date before buying, but leaving something on the shelf 2 weeks after its expired is completely disgusting and unacceptable. Youd think a big company would have better control over checking expired or close to being expired food.
Forest Lake Cub foods are over priced, most of the workers are rude. I wont shop there again!
Although they have a wider selection over Wal-Mart and Aldi they have way higher prices. Watch for sales..
Prices too high compared to Walmart. Nothing in the ad was available. I said it’s in your current ad and was told yeah we didn’t make it yet. We can make some but it will take 20 minutes. This has happened several times. The cashiers are really rude. I will not be back!
Aldi & Walmart obviously have wayy better deals. But Cubs bakery/deli area beats Walmarts & Aldis with a stick.
Employees are very helpful and shelved are well stocked, people who visit this store are not well kept
Prices can be a bit on the higher side, and some of the cashiers seem like they are in a permanent state of just waking up, but otherwise a nice store with good produce.
Fast, friendly service. They have what u want. Clean store. Shelves stocked. The parking lot is clean.
Wish there were more outlets. Prices always good as well as stock.
Not enough cashiers working. Deb was my cashier worst customer service Ive ever had. I set my basket on the belt that had my 4 items in it. When it came to be my turn she took my items out of my basket slammed each item on the belt put the basket below, then slammed a divider behind my stuff. I did not receive a hello, how was your day? or any type of greeting for that matter. I work in customer service, if any of my employees were to treat a customer like this they would no longer have a job.
Pretty good selection. Just a normal Cub foods. I wish they would bring more of the bulk items back they used to sell.
Well stocked store, had what I needed. No matter which Cub Food you visit the layouts are all very common and you know where to look for what you are shopping for.
Theyre too overpriced since they were bought out and EVERY time I go here, theyre out of something, adding an extra stop for me. Done with this place, I just go to walmart now.
Always a good experience.
Its hard to believe with all the grocery competition out there (Wal-Mart, Target, Aldi, etc.) that the Cub store manager doesnt do a better job encouraging store employees to be courteous to store patrons. The absolute worse part of this store is the deli. I have witnessed 3 or 4 employees working behind the counter and they dont even look up to greet a customer. There was one occasion where the employee turned around and asked me, do you want something? Unacceptable. I dont even ask a stock person for help anymore (attitude) - who wants to feel like your bothering someone? I dont need this.
One of my favorite Cub locations. Friendly staff. Clean store. Good selection.
They have everything that you will ever need and they sales give you great savings
I havent been to Cub Foods in a very long time and I remember Cub Foods being the go-to food store before. Where you would get everything and anything and it be fresh and stocked and this one wasnt I couldnt find a whole lot of things and the produce was okay but not anything special and expensive.
Great food and good price.
Always good buys... Some of produce could be cleaned better...
Everytime I go there they always have everything l need and all the staff are very polite
Everyone is ALWAYS pleasant at Cub Foods!! So refreshing after BAD attitudes of Walmart employees!! Their pharmacy employees are also WAY BETTER than Walmart pharmacy!!
A little over priced if you ask me. The price of their carbonated h20 water is good, but everything else is expensive. One of the meat and non dairy cheese pizzas I used to eat is small and 10 bucks! really?
Always easy to shop and get home
Great produce especially the one Jimmy Larson is the manager of Apple Valley
Always a good choice to shop at Cub Foods and a great store that donates tons of food to neighborhood food shelves
Always friendly staff and quality products!
The store is laid out welll. The cashier was friendly and efficent.
Cub has great selection and quality for a mid-high-range grocery store.
Always a very clean environment. Always have what you are looking for and are very pleasant people to work with.
Losing out to wal-mart and now hyvee is getting in on it
Fresh sweet corn
I love me Cub foods. Im fat, I like to eat and they sell food.
Been there 4 times in last 4-5 months, had to go back each time for being Over Charged. This Never happens to me at Aldi or Walmart.
I was at the self checkout. The register wpuld not work properly. I had to stand there while tjey tried to fix the machine. I asked if i could use a different checkout. They told me i could not and had to wait to finish my checkout there. After 4 people tried to fix it with no success i went to my vehicle to get my phone to write a review. When i got back less than a minute later, they magically had the machine fixed and were returning my groceries to the store. I asked if i could still purchase them. The lady was very accomodating however received no compensation or thanks for my patience.Try wall mart.
Needs updating... But good items available
Only place in town with pumpkins!
The customer service is great here!
Only one out here enjoy!!
