I absolutely love this music store. We have been here off and on over the years. The owners and staff always make the customer feel important and valued. Recently, my daughter had visited the store and picked out a ukulele that she really wanted for her 18th birthday. A few weeks later I stopped by to purchase it and as soon as I told the young lady working that day that my daughter had been in a few weeks prior, she knew just the one she wanted and remembered talking to my daughter weeks before. My daughter is going to be so surprised! Thank you Playground Music, for always keeping music in our home!

First time in the store, I met with Brendon (and I may just butchered his name -apologies) he helped me with a mouth piece for my son, without placing or taking blame I was scrambling to find the correct mouth piece and book for my beginner band player and this gentleman was extremely helpful and had the patience to deal with me and my un-musical self. Will not go or seek out any other music store (as 2 had failed me, until I got an email back from Nathan so i decided to stop in on just a why not) even though I wasnt able to get the mouth piece that day it was there the next morning. Better/faster than Amazon!Thanks for all the help!

This music store is the best in the Area!! i’m a saxophonist and a woodwind guy but the are great with accessories, pianos, brass, instruments, string instruments and more! the customer service is great and they are very helpful.

I love the involvement Playground Music has in our schools and give opportunities to kids that otherwise would not have to learn music. But I honestly can say 80% of the time I hate going into their store. I am sorry I dont know all things musical and they make me feel that. I would be happy at this time never to enter again.

I havent been to the store but Ive had this business shoved down my throat by the Avalon Middle School Band. They mailed out a letter that stated I needed to be present at a very important meeting for my incoming student. It was addressed from the school. I had to take time off work to attend. When I arrived I was greeted by these folks trying to rent me my childs instrument (I already had purchased) this is not the only time they were present at my childs functions. I dont think that they should be soliciting their business at school.

We have been renting an instrument from them since about August 2017. My daughter has bad allergies which made us have to switch once, & bad asthma, which made us have to switch again. I have dealt with about 5 different employees. All have been so very nice, helpful, & accommodating. They have been great with taking the time to show my daughter different things on the instruments. We bought a book one time & forgot it there, one employee was going to my daughters school so he brought it to her school so that I wouldnt have to drive the 20 miles back there. Another employee offered to meet me after work to give it to me if they couldnt get it to the school. GREAT customer service, knowledgeable employees, & competitive prices. I would recommend them to anyone!

I had a great experience today at Playground Music Center in Fort Walton Beach. I was looking for a Ukulele(first time ever buying a musical instrument), and Kyle took the time to show me around and explain everything to me so I could understand. Its not often that you get customer service like that nowadays, so it was greatly appreciated. They had a great selection as well as a beautiful showroom. They got me set up with my new ukulele and I left there smiling. Highly recommended!

My child has been getting lessons at Playground music and it has been such a great experience for our whole family. We really appreciate the dedication of teachers and staff. Also, the new location is fantastic! Plenty of room and an enjoyable place to be. Prices are good and we have purchased many of our instruments here. Lessons for Life is a great added benefit.

My kids have been taking lessons here for several years and Playground has serviced our band instruments as well. They are always polite and helpful. Recently took my next aspiring band student in who is deciding what instrument she wants to play. Kyle took a long time showing her different brass and woodwind instruments and letting her try them out. He explained the pros and cons of each one and really helped her focus in on a couple of choices. Not sure why this place gets bad reviews; weve never had a bad experience, and their new facility is awesome. Special kudos to Kyle, Merilyn, and Brennan!

I have been utilizing Playground music since the early 80s. I bought my first Benge trumpet from them and still have it to this day. I used that same trumpet while playing through high school as well as 20 years in the US Navy. It has played countless military funerals honoring our fallen brothers and sisters. Over the years it picked up a ding here and there and I brought it in to them (I believe Mark performed the repairs...this guy is AMAZING!) to clean it and repair the dings. Let me tell you that they did a phenomenal job! It looks brand new as it did more than 30+ years ago. The customer service is amazing and everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. If you want the best service and are as particular as I am, this is the place to trust with your precious instruments. This is a small town and this place makes you feel like your family...in a way we kind of are in that we share the love for music and the musicians that make it. Thanks Playground Music Center!

Great place to rent instruments. Twice this company has impressed me! However, I want to share the most recent account. Recently, an incident occurred that proves their customer service goes above and beyond. After an unfortunate event left my daughter’s rented instrument damaged, they swiftly replaced the damaged part without issue, even though my contract didn’t exactly cover the replacement of said part. They were considerate and accommodating, understanding the circumstances when making a judgment call regarding our case. They even delivered the replacement part to my daughter’s school within a day. I would definitely recommend this instrument rental company.

Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Playground Music has been fantastic when purchasing new or used instruments. The repair technicians are top notch.

Staff were very professional while still having that coolness. I understand the business caters more to the school band type of customer but the $1,000+ guitar i picked up to try was in rough shape. Dusty and strings were just old. Made me not only want to hang it back up and NOT plug it in and play but definitely not buy it. Imagine a car lot selling dirty cars, not easy to sell if the experience isnt pleasant. Let me come and be your guitar guy! I have some suggestions and i know i would sell some guitars😋

It was great to get to visit playground music store found the guitar strings I needed at a fair price. Nice staff but seems to be the only game in town for guitar stuff . They have a nice selection but I didnt see anything left handed. But even guitar center Atlanta has no left handed guitar

We have been doing business with Playground Music for the past 4 years. Were on our second clarinet and they are always helpful when we go in there with questions, instrument issues or just need to buy something. They make us feel like the most important customer they have.

The Leonards are good, local guys who are very knowledgeable and experienced in all types of instruments. They also have a very large team of instructors that cover a wide variety of instruments from winds and brass to guitars to piano.

Came in to get stuff for my husbands guitar. He needed guitar strings and I was lost of what to buy. I came in with a pic of the brand and style strings my husband currently had. They did not have it in stock but I was guided to what would be comparable and told they were nicer. He also helped me with tips of gifts that are cool for guitars.My husband LOVES his new strings. And said the tool to use to string his guitar is awesome! And he is excited about the wall mount to display his guitar. Good b-day for the hubby!Thanks for your help!

Not sure, what the bad reviews are about, but I was Born & raised in fort Walton & Playground music has always treated myself, my family & my church just right. They have Competitive prices and great customer service. And usually a good jam session going on in the guitar rooms! Theyve been in business since 1961, so theyve gotta be doing something right!

We have been going to playground music since my daughter started band in 6th grade, she is now a junior and plays the clarinet. Kyle and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. Store is large with a good assortment of instruments, nicely laid out makes it very easy to head right for what you are looking for. Their repair department is reasonably priced as well.

Customer Service is fit for a bar. This is a musical instrument store!! Needed guitar repaired. Seven long days later, finally it should be repaired. Too long for a musician to be without their gear. Ask for a loaner guitar here, youll get the bar customer to the fullest! Selection is thee most expensive on the market! Others such as Sam Ash,Guitar Center wont put a dent in the wallet, quality customer service and a selection that actually makes sense to local musicians who play at local bars,churches,weddings, theatrical literature or what have you. What doesnt have me is Playground Music. . One further point, the name alone....

We went in to get my son set up with his first instrument, a trombone. We had the pleasure of working with Scott while there. I know absolutely nothing about the trombone and Scott was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and helpful!! We will definitely be going back for any future needs!!

Daughter told me she needed a new flip book for her trombone while I was at work. I called them, being the closest to me. They had what I needed, and got me in and out in a hurry. I was back to work before lunch ended. Could not be happier with them.

Fantastic selection and service. The best music store Ive been to.

Brought a guitar and wiring harness in back in June. The guitar needed a fret job and I wanted the harness installed. They said they didnt have someone in their staff could work on it, but one of their teachers can. I left it with them. A MONTH LATER, I got tired of waiting and came in to ask the progress. They messaged the teacher and then he messaged me. According to him, they never told him he was to work on it, so a month of NOTHING happened.Two weeks later, the guitar is supposedly done. Me thinking my patience has finally paid off, took it home to play around with it. The frets were fine. The wiring was absolutely abysmal. The neck volume still sent signal despite the switch being on the bridge setting and on 0. The bridge volume became insanely bassy rolled off. I figured that was the fault of the company that made the harness, so I took it back and they messaged the teacher. He later messaged me and came across as standoffish. Claimed he spent 4 hours checking the results.After a while, they told me either the company who sold it screwed it up or it was like that by design (i.e. not their fault). I asked if they could adjust or rework it to see if they can fix it.I wait a week later and call back in to ask the progress. They told me they guy that was meant to work on it had been gone for a week due to tragic circumstances. I would have been inclined to believe them if the news werent delivered to me like a middle schooler being asked to read from a textbook. I decided to take my guitar back because I didnt want this headache anymore.I PAID $400+ DOLLARS AND WAITED ALMOST TWO MONTHS FOR THIS BOTCH JOB. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Youll honestly have better luck doing it yourself.

The staff and the teachers are all so nice and helpful. They have everything you or your child needs to perfect theyre musical skills.

I took my saxophone in today as it has a slightly bent bell and is missing the key guard on the side of the bell. I was not concerned about the key guard, I only wanted the bell straightened. THEY REFUSED TO DO THE REPAIR. They said they would not straighten the bell unless I paid for the replacement key guard at 150 dollars plus the cost for straightening the bell! I only needed the bell straightened but they refused a paying customer. Will never go back and I recommend others dont go there either. Their excuse? She said she couldnt let my own instrument leave without being fully repaired so if I did not want the key gaurd, I was not allowed to get the bell straightened and pay for it there either. What a horrible way to run a business. I own my instrument, it is a sterling silver saxophone so I did not want their inferior keyguard.
