Really well run shop, clean and organized. He always gets in the most recent craft beers, many of which I can’t find at other shops around town. He has even tried to order or find specific beers through his distributors for me. Highly recommend taking your business here.

I was very impressed to see so much variety of craft beer, excellent service and i found lots of limited released beers which are hard to find. Looks like i found my best beer store. I recommend people to visit.

Tex Max Beer & Wine is an excellent place to find an amazing selection of beer, craft beer, and wine. The owner is very knowledgeable about all of the beers he sells and will go out of his way to help you find those specialty craft brews. He will order them if he has to and always has a wide selection of limited edition craft beer runs to suit the taste of any beer enthusiast. Kenny has been getting in some really rare and very popular craft brews. If you havent been to Tex Max lately, you are missing out on an amazing experience. - I spoke with the owner of Tex Max Beer & Wine and they are temporarily closing while they find a new location. Spread the word and as soon as I hear back from the owner, Ill update the information here. He estimated that the new location would be known in January 2021.

This place is the best!!! Not only is the selection amazing they will even special order whatever you want. They were able to order Sea Dog from Portland, Maine and had it ready for pickup in only a few days! Also when I was last in there I had bought the last of the Blueberry Abita and knowing that Id be back they bought some more for me!!!

Kenny is amazing every time I walk into the store he makes me feel right at home. His knowledge always leads me to make the right choice in my beer choice for the weekend. Place is very clean and organized. Definitely recommend to check this place out.

Found this place through a Google search since the local liquor stores dissapoint my discerning picky taste in beer. When I walked through the door, my eyes immediately gazed upon the bottles of Belgian Trappist beers. It was at that point that I knew I was home. They had all of the Trappist beers I love. On top of that, the selection of micro American brews are the best Ive ever seen ever. My wife found her favorite, NVP Vanilla by Breckenridge. I asked my wife to pinch me to make sure I wasnt dreaming. She opted for a hard thump to my left nut instead. After the pain subsided, We picked our beer and went to home relish in our soon to be inebriated state. The owner of this place is incredibly nice and VERY knowledgeable about his stock, like a tour guide of Buckingham Palace detailing every thread of the Queens knickers that Im hoping arent on display. Kudos to the owner. He is my messiah!

Work transferred me out of the area five years ago and my husband and I miss the craft beer scene here. I still travel back a couple times a year for meetings and love to stock up on anything outside of my normal distribution. SPECS on Hulen used to be my go to, but over the last several years their selection and beer knowledge have declined. I happened to be in Fossil Creek this trip and found Tex Max via Google. Part of me couldnt believe the amazing reviews...they were too good, they had to be fake I thought. Well, dont tell my husband I said this, but how wrong I was! Craft beer nirvana!!! Dont let the small store fool you, the selection was diverse, huge, and quality. The owner - Kenny - brilliant and a joy to speak to. I was instantly a fan when he asked what I like to drink and made recommendations from there. I might have lingered in the store (limited suitcase space + many beers = tough decisions) and the half dozen or so customers who came were given prompt attention and most were greeted by name and loyal patrons. How can you not love that? Closing notes: 1) some folks commented the prices were high...they seemed reasonable to me (but my experience is limited to shopping in six countries and about 20 states so I could be wrong) and 2) some folks commented on Kenny holding special releases for loyal customers...hey - Ive been that loyal customer at other stores so I am VERY biased, that makes me like Kenny that much more because when you have PASSION for your product, you want to see it go to someone you know will appreciate it (I respect that).

Kenny is such a friendly person. He takes care to pay attention to your preferences, and he always has a bottle or two of my favorite wine in the fridge chilled and ready to go for me. Its always a pleasure coming in to see him. The selection is also varied and carries many local favorites.

The owner makes me smile every time I go in. He’s always happy and polite and has great suggestions. Also gives great life advice, it’s really like a tiny therapy session each time you go in. Really reasonably priced too.

I tell all my friends to go see Kenny for fancy beer. If you dont see what youre looking for, let him know and hell get it. This approach has given him an impressive stock over the past few years. Super friendly businessman, takes the time to know his customers and truly cares. Maybe its a sign that I drink too much fancy beer, but Uncle Kenny as my kids call him, knows everyone in my family by name, and walking in there is like visiting an old friend.

Was there a few minutes and the guy tried to sell me everything possible. Called my brother to ask about a few of the beers that were recommended. Continued on the phone to get real recommendations. Store worker ask me if was going to get anything, he then said The owner doesnt like people hanging out walking around, otherwise I needed to go. Yes I was on the phone for 7 minutes asking my brother about various beers. How paranoid can someone possible be . Was just about to ask if he had something specific until he opened his mouth. I didnt say a word and just walked out.His knowledge is everything he has is good, how hard can that be.Prices are high, Total wine, HEB, Kroger will have most for cheaper.

They have a great selection, over 600 beers! Definitely the place to go if you have beer on the mind. The staff is excellent and more than willing to help you find what youre craving. Not to mention, they carry a selection of harder to find bombers and six packs.

This is the absolute best place for wine and craft beer. Kenny genuinely cares about his customers and treats them like friends and family. For a small store he has a large selection of craft beer and if there is something he doesnt have hell always offer to order it for you. He knows what his customers like, has great beer recommendations and will even reserve something if he knows youll be in. My wifes favorite beer is kind of hard to find but he always has it in stock and has even kept some in back for us if hes close to selling out.We are really appreciative of Kenny his great hospitality. I wouldnt shop anywhere else.

Large selection of hard to find craft and import beers. The owner is extremely nice and always makes me feel happy to have came in. This is absolutely the beat beer store I have ever visited. If you are a beer advocate you will not be dissapointed. He also has a pretty good selection of good quality cigars at a decent price if you are into that sort of thing.

I showed up at 10am when they open to get Bourbon County. There were about 4 other people waiting as well, they are suppose to open at 10. We could see through the window they had 2 versions of it on the display. When they guy got there at 1030 he refused to sell one of the versions saying they were for select customers (apparently not those of us waiting since they were suppose to be open). So the guy in front of me walked out without buying anything. I go to get a bottle of the regular stuff and he wanted 18.64 for it!! I ended up paying 8.99 at fossile creek for it. What a joke, he showed up half an hour late, refused to sell us his products, then tried to charge over double the price of other local stores. 2 of the people behind me left at that point as well. We all went to fossile creek and were treated very well. Good job losing a customer for life. Please do not shop here.

Stopped by this place because it was on the way and close by, and Im so glad I did! The gentleman I spoke to at the counter was so nice, and gave me plenty of suggestions based on the kind of wines I like. Its a little on the pricier side, but I dont mind paying for great service at a smaller business.
