Delicious coffee and amazing pastries. Make sure you try the lemon and almond moelleux, it’s the perfect treat. Friendly staff and a cute setting. Pop in if you’re in the neighborhood
Great location, speciality coffee and some tasty raspberry/ricotta muffins. 4.5 stars because I prefer my brewed coffee a tad stronger.
Nice neat little place with friendly service and good café and a nice bathroom. Just a minor comment that in the ice mocha I ordered, the hot chocolate power didn’t dissolve before they put ice in and it has still a lot of power at the bottom which is too bad😕
Really good coffee and really friendly staff. There isn’t too much room to sit inside, but they also have some tables outside.
Coffee is good, stuff is friendly and location is really nice. However, the coffee is too expensive (or overpriced as some reviews say), thats why I gave 4 stars
Nice little coffee shop, with knowledgeable baristas.
Great coffee - proper textured flat white 👌
Great coffee and kind staff. Recommend.
Good spot for coffee in the 2nd. More of a to go place but great to grab a cappuccino on your walk to work or down to the Louvre.
Great place, specialty coffee selection. Fantastic banana bread, friendly owner/staff and very good coffee.
Best cup of coffee so far in Paris. Aeropress was amazing, perfect balance.Thank you Josh
Cute, tiny coffee shop with style & good cappucino!
Good coffee place is so little friendly ppl.
This place has good coffee and a nice collection of cakes. The lemon cake was heavenly!! We havent tried any of the savory food but the menu looked promising. Seating was not the most comfortable or cozy but it served its purpose. The espresso was slightly zingy and acidic (which I love) yet balanced and well extracted with some round fruit flavors.
Best specialty coffee I’ve had in Paris!
Stop advertising incorrect opening times! Second time Ive walked halfway cross Paris only to find you closed despite your site claiming to be open, you get 5 star because you are a small independent business!
Great service and amazing taste!
Best coffee in Paris this far! My husband and I split one of their chemex (its only available for 2 people) and I have never seen my husband drink coffee so quickly. The ambiance of the cafe is very cozy and great for bringing your laptop and working away (free WiFi). The baristas spoke English, Spanish, and French. Also a dog friendly place. The cutest little dog was behind us during our visit.
As one of the very few spots serves artisan coffee in town, Matamata is in a shopping area in between The Louvre and Pompidou centre, pretty central location. They use coffee beans from many suppliers. The flatwhite I had did have pretty good standard with nice aroma and balanced texture. I was pretty sure the coffee scene in Paris got improved so much. The space isnt really for sitting down long, it feels more a place to order take away and go out to walk more to see the city. I think its due to the location. But it does have a few corners to immerse into a quiet Parisian coziness when needed.
Cute little coffee shop with good artisanal coffee, for Pariss standards at least. I tried the flat white and I enjoyed it. The carrot cake is very good as well. The barista was friendly, the area is good, and its a lovely spot where to enjoy a coffee break or to work on your laptop (there is free wi-fi).
Nice specialty coffee
Good espresso drinks and coffeehouse, great location. many shops around and people to watch. these amsterdam-esque coffeehouse/espresso bars are a new and welcomed thing in paris, a break from the traditional café that is more like a restaurant and espresso is not the main event, at Matamata, the espresso drinks and location relaxed small street location are the draw. enjoy and relax. .. and if you are looking for a place to hid, or the restroom, it is does stairs in the basement where there are as well some tables... . note, soy milk, lait de soja, was not available on my visit, or other non dairy alternatives.
A very nice coffee shop and superb coffee. While most coffee shops are closed during the pandemic this one is open for take out. This place is a gem.
Pretty quaint café!
The Avocado Toast with honey and almonds was really good. I never had that combination before. The chai latte is also a good way to recharge in the cold weather. The café is beautiful. If there is space, I recommend to sit upstairs and not downstairs. The downstairs area feels a bit more like a basement.
So great coffe!
Great cafe with delicious coffee. We ordered two different filters - chemex (Panama, Bolivia) and both were amazing. We also had breakfast bun with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon and it was super delicious. even though it was quite a busy day, baristas were friendly and they took time to explain everything about the coffee we ordered.
Great coffee with a little bit of New Zealand!!
Best in paris, definite stop off
Great coffee shop!
Love this place. Service is excellent. Staff speak excellent English which makes ordering a breeze. Had a simple eggs and toast it was nice. To drink espresso and a chai tea latte. Enjoyable experience nice decor open on Sunday which is a challenge in Paris. Good option in the menu you cant go wrong with this place check it out. Makes excellent coffess.
One of our first stops every visit to Paris. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy the trees and traffic. Feels local and always friendly. Cakes and baguette is a must. Make excellent coffee - especially their cold brew.
Amazing place, enjoyed my time there.Staff is friendly and coffee was tasty.
A proper coffee shop making actual good coffee in Paris... Not so easy to find these days! Also the staff was lovely and the place is cozy, highly recommended.
The two servers are way too indifferent. I was excited to enjoy avocado toast with my mom, but all I got was a single “bonjour”. While I was waiting at the counter, they were just busy with their own business behind the counter as if we didn’t exist. And after minute-long waiting without any responses, we stepped out of the cafe with huge disappointment :(Seriously, do I have to be hyper-energetic to just get their attention?
Best latté ever had !The avocado tart was delicious too :) I recommend this nice place 👌
Excellent coffee, fresh croissant, and friendly staff who spoke both French and English. They had seating both indoors and outside, plus more room in the basement. I went several times on my visit and enjoyed their latte, espresso, and macchiato.
Wow after struggling to find good coffee in Paris, finally found this place.Just amazing coffee. If you’re an international traveller and are not loving the local taste of Parisian coffee this is the place to be.Rated lower as the food options were okayish and the menu is a bit sparse for food.
Delicious coffees and teas, and a quieter space ideal for reading or studying. That being said, on several occasions my interactions with staff (including the owner, if I’m not mistaken) have been less than warm. High-quality baked goods and fantastic cappuccinos, but get there at an off time if you want a seat (and don’t expect the friendliness of an American or British coffee shop).
I love this place. Friendly staff, large enough space, their pastries are made in house, and their coffee is excellent. It’s a bit pricey but considering the area of Paris, I’d say it’s the average good coffee/food pricing.I really enjoy coming here
The barista is super friendly. I had the cappuccino with oat milk, it’s a bit acid at the first taste, but all in all, incredible experience. Also love the atmosphere and the food. Highly recommend!
The coffee here was outstanding. I havent enjoyed a cup of coffee this much in a long time. Thank you mata mata for bringing good coffee to Paris at a reasonable price- I will definitely be returning when Im in Paris!
