I feel sorry for the kind service staff having to work for such an unprofessional owner. Dropped off vehicle with the Owner for a 930am diagnostic appointment, no contact all day, and by 4pm they hadnt yet moved it off the street and I was told they had moved onto other commercial jobs instead of servicing my vehicle. I will not be back.

They are just good people here. I will continue using their services.

They were extremely reasonable in their pricing and got us on the road again after replacing a headlight and rear brake light on our Motorhome.

We dropped off our car at 8.30 for an oil change & technician diagnostic for our window, now mind you.. we were there that early because we were told that the technician comes at that time & it would name things faster.4 hours later I call to ask if it’s ready and they tell me ONLY the oil change was done because the technician wasn’t available until 1 o’clock.Knowing the customer is waiting ON THE STREET FOR OVER FOUR HOURS, nobody bothered to let us know that the diagnosis wasn’t even started..It’s a shame they don’t care about their customers time.. I’m obviously no mechanic but I also own a business & if somebody comes 8.30 and I know I’ll take 4 hours to look at their case (while they wait in the cold) I usually let them know out of respect..finally at 1 they looked at the car and after 10’ said it will take 30’ to do the diagnosis..after all this, they told me at 2 o’clock that the car can’t be fixed Bc they need to order the part, they can’t just pull my window up 😹 moral of the story I waited almost 6 hours & almos 300$ on an oil changePositive: the guys was SO nice that he let me use the restroom..UPDATE: I went to ANOTHER mechanic and they literally fixed it in 20’ for 50$I have it recorded to prove it

The guys at JC auto we’re very helpful and professional. I had both of vehicle worked on by them (one had to get towed there) and they always get the work done in a very timely manner and my car back on the road. I also really appreciate that their waiting room area is family friendly. They have a comfy and roomy couch and they have a play area with kids toys and some books to help keep the wee ones entertained if you have to wait. And they offer coffee and such too while you’re waiting. Thanks guys!

I always go here for oil changes. They are quick, do a great job, and also do a thorough safety check on my vehicle. The staff here is awesome and the atmosphere is friendly and hospitable. When I do need to get something more extensive done on my car, Ill be calling JC Auto.

Was charged 2300 to get vehicle running as it just wasnt starting. A week later it starts dying all the time. Then they would say they were diagnosing it for over a month. Meanwhile I saw it just sitting there while new vehicles were pulled in and out of the shop, I know this because I live up the street and we drive by 4 to 5 times a day. Obviously they were going to have to eat costs because they changed and fixed everything having to do with starting, even the computer. Eventually I just picked it up to take to a REAL shop. However I still had to pay over 600 to get it out. Nothing was fixed or figured out. Im hurt and angry somebody would do this. 3000 dollars for nothing. Very very unprofessional. Please do not go to JC Auto, I regret it So much. We dont have money to waste, we have kids.

Nothing but the best experiences here! Getting your car worked on is hardly ever stress free, but J. C. Auto has fixed my car up through its every woe and Ive never felt cheated on the price! Ill never take my car anywhere else, and I live in Eureka! Also most affordable oil change EVER! Love these guys!

After being recommended by three different people, I took my truck down to J.C.s. The prior two days it wouldnt start without a jump but then would run fine. They determined it was the starter and had it fixed in under 2 hours. I once wrote a bad review for this place, as Jason put it without giving them a chance. Well this time I did and they came through with flying colors. I suggest you give them a chance as well, you wont be disappointed. Thank you Jason, you showed what you are made of.

These guys did a great job on a custom break job on my truck, They installed the LCE big break upgrade kit on my 1st gen 2004 tacoma. Breaks preform fantastic and Im a very happy customer and trust them 100%. I will be returning to have new leaf packs, shocks, and struts installed in the future.

I brought my truck in because the headgasket was beginning to leak. Engine ran and sounded fine when I dropped it off. They charged twice as much for parts. Took twice as long to get it done as they said and now that I have picked it up my engine is ruined. They left the engine apart and in the elements and now a rod in the lower end is going out. Do not trust these guys.

I pulled in to town on a road trip and the van was acting up. Stayed overnight and hotel recommended this mechanic. I arrived at 730 as they opened and they put me on the top of priority so I could leave by 12 to head back to Olympia.

Honest, meticulous, efficient, courteous, and affordable don’t even begin to cover it. I didn’t realize going in how lucky I was to have chosen JC Auto off a randomly generated list on google, it was kind of like winning the lottery. The level of service provided was unparalleled in my experience. If you want the best possible work done on your vehicle by the best people, take your business to JC Auto.THE LONG STORY: I’m a Canadian travelling in California, and was driving through the area when my truck broke down, carrying a small box camper containing nearly all my worldly possessions. I took the truck to JC Auto, where it was explained to me that the engine was severely damaged and it would cost thousands of dollars to repair. I asked the owner/mechanic Jason if he thought it would be worth it to replace the engine, and he told me probably not, since the truck was so old another part would likely break, and it would be cheaper in the long run to scrap the truck and put the repair money into getting a new vehicle with less problems. He then found a trailer online that would fit the camper, made a series of calculations to ensure it could take the dimensions and weight, drove me over to purchase it, towed it back with his own vehicle, then proceeded to move the camper from the defunct truck onto the trailer with an ingenious system he made up on the spot using two tow truck pulleys and a forklift. He then wired the trailer lights in with the camper lights (this was all done remarkably fast and well I might add) so it could be driven safely. After that it was then a simple business of renting a truck from u-haul and getting back on the road.I also want to add that on top of that, the staff at JC Auto were incredibly patient and helpful in terms of helping me find accommodation (in additional to helping me find a safe motel to stay at they gave me a ride there every night so I wouldn’t have to walk through a sketchy area of town by myself) making various phone calls associated with the truck and trailer, and explaining how to apply for a certificate of salvage to present at the border so I can get back into Canada at the end of the trip. I could go on, but there is not enough space here to record all the ways in which they made the continuation of my trip possible.A less principled business could have easily convinced me to pour money into a quick fix, or simply left me to fend for myself in a foreign country with no friends or family. If I hadn’t had the good fortune of taking my truck to JC Auto I probably would have spent the remainder of my trip money getting my truck towed back to Canada, as there was no way I had the knowledge or resources to get my camper onto a trailer by myself. JC Auto are good samaritans in the truest sense of the word, as well as being skilled mechanics and business people who consistently demonstrated the highest possible quality of work, whether it be wiring trailer lights, providing consultation, or knowing the various state laws about salvage and vehicle surrender. I could go on, but I think the actions I have already described speak louder than any adjective I could write.THE SUMMARY: By far the best experience I have had with any auto shop in my entire life. If I lived here I would never take my business anywhere except JC Auto.

There is absolutely no where in the county that will take in your vehicle at 5pm closing time near the weekend (ten minutes after engine trouble/breakdown), offer a ride or drop off, and present a diagnosis on a vehicle(large diesel at that),within 24hours, (actually less). Reasonably priced quote, and vehicle finished and ready on Monday early, and I am on the road back to work.Good reliable, mechanic work isnt cheap(if it is Id be worried), and getting an appointment in humboldt comes at a usual 2 week wait just to see the vehicle.Nobody makes money selling parts at price at second person, so as expected, highest quality parts, easy on the wallet, and this shop has competitive rates to anyone in town, and still far lower than any dealership.They sent me home with a 2 year, 2400k mile warranty on all their work/parts. (Unheard of warranty for these parts). To top it off they sent me home with a year of free roadside assistance, the norm for any customer here. Hard to imagine anyone being unsatisfied with Jason, Sarah, and their proffesionalism at J C AUTO in Fortuna.Thanks guys.Satisfied customer.

FAIR AND HONEST !My family and I were passing through fortuna in our little rv on a road trip when we threw a rod in the motor causing us to come to a complete stop. Now most mechanics might have seen dollar signs while J C Auto saw a family in need. They were able to get me right in and stored my rv until I was able to have a motor drop shipped to them. After that they were able to install the motor fairly quick and charged a reasonable price. Jason being the most helpful of all. I would highly recommend J C Auto for any jobs big or small.

I thought they did a good job replacing my starter and the labor was fair but they marked up the price of the starter 100% so make sure you double check their estimate for the price of the parts they order.
