I got my nosed pierced around three weeks ago and my friend and I had an appointment, waited 25 minutes while at least three men sat behind the counter not doing anything. After the piercer came out he didn’t let me check the placement and was very unnecessarily aggressive like he had somewhere to be . The room was covered in early 2000’s magazines of naked women and had a lot of conservative posters as well. Not very women friendly, not professional and not somewhere I would recommend.

Dan was awesome!! He did both of my tattoos and was very easy to talk to and funny! He made sure my experience was pain free and made sure I was doing okay. He also made sure I liked the location and sizing of my tattoos. It was my first time getting a tattoo and it was a great experience. Whole staff is very friendly and they got me into my appointment right away. Highly recommend and will be going back!

So, this is a review for tattoos and piercings:For tattoos: Ive had 2 tattoos done by Steve! Steve is an incredibly good artist who is very friendly and wonderful at communicating and make sure youre getting exactly what youre looking for. He was also very kind about giving me a touch up and hes easy to chat with to pass the time, and has a very cool office as well. I give Steve and the tattoo service here a 5 star rating. Id also like to say Jon (the owner) is great, and management is very friendly and prompt at booking appointments.For piercings: I got an industrial piercing here in April (along with my first tattoo), and the service was good and Rob (the piercer) was great at answering any questions I had. Unfortunately, Rob informed me today that my industrial piercing was rejecting and part of it needed to be taken out. Ive never had a piercing reject before and its really heartbreaking for me, but Rob was great at calmly explaining what was going on, and I appreciate that he is willing to work with me to get it repierced after it heals up again. I did get another set of earlobe piercings today, and Rob was great about those too. I look forward to the day where I can work with Rob again to try and give this industrial a second shot.And overall, Id recommend this place. Great value, wonderful staff, and friendly management. And everyone here goes the extra mile for the customer, which is greatly appreciated.I also want to note that Im a transgender man finishing up the process of a legal name change, and management never questioned that or dead named me once, so Id absolutely say this place is LGBTQIA+ friendly, which is always awesome! :) Thanks again for being so welcoming and keep up the great work, everyone.

Great artist great tattoos arent cheap and cheap tattoos arent good . Very professional youre going to get a tattoo I would recommend this place hands down.

Dont recommend going for piercings. The piercer was rushed, didnt let me choose my jewelry, didnt give me proper aftercare products, and didnt advise me on placement and healing of piercings. Ended up having to get one removed and the other still isnt healed. Go somewhere else for your piercings.

I went in for some ear piercings and I waited almost an hour for them to sterilize the room. I asked my piercer if he had any advice for piercings because my ears have different anatomy than most, and he just told me to pick what I wanted... but I didnt know what I wanted! When I was getting my piercings done, my piercer didnt even mark anything to show me what it would look like first. And $35 per piercing PLUS the cost of the jewelry is a little much compared to other places I have visited. They were all super nice, but not sure how I feel about going back.

I just left Rt 9 a few hours ago and started looking for where I could write this review. The long story short: 5/5 I recommend it to anyone in the area.Full story: A few months ago I went in to sit down with artist Bosco Layne, and give him an idea of what I wanted. I had trouble voicing exactly what I wanted but I brought reference pictures of other work I liked and some of his that I liked. A few weeks later I saw what he came up with and was thrilled. I was still booked a little while out so I had two sessions booked to just make any revisions I wanted and then the appointment. Bosco came up with something I liked so much I didn’t need any revisions so these meetings were moot, but I’m glad we had the time to sit between them and reflect that I didn’t want to change anything out.That leads me to today. The appointment went great, and the tattoo came out better than I could have hoped. The pricing was more than fair, and I couldn’t be happier. They take COVID precautions seriously, I was temperature checked and everyone was masked the entire time I was there. I will be coming back to them in the future if I add on to this or get new work done for sure.

Honestly, really disappointed. I went there in hopes to get my piercing changed to a small hoop and the guy that was helping me just didn’t listen to what i wanted, pick the size he thought would look best, and sent me home. At first i thought well there isn’t anything he can do if my anatomy is the way it is. However, I just went to another shop and they helped me get what I want. I just overall wouldn’t recommend

My son got his first tattoo today from Mat Park. It is a medic alert tattoo, as he is diabetic...but don’t be confused, it is incredibly cool. Mat’s artistry is incredible. The shop is clean, safe and well run. I am blown away by how much I LOVE this tattoo!

The shop seemed very clean and staff was super friendly. I did receive a nose piercing for my birthday in June and had to take it out due to a large volcano like bump that was forming on my nose piercing. I went to a local piercing shop (with equally but higher reviews) and they told me the angle of my piercing was off and I wasn’t pierced correctly. The jewelry also didn’t appear to be of the right quality - since I formed a black ring on my skin around the nose piercing. So a black ring and a bump 😔 Unfortunately, I’ve taken out my nose piercing and will try again with another piercing shop in a few months. This shop seems really great - so not really sure what happened. Maybe better with tattoos?

I got a small tattoo here a couple weeks ago and had a great experience through and through. I didnt know how things would be because of COVID and I had never been to the shop before but the artist did a wonderful job and made the experience very pleasant.

Pretty expensive. I got ear piercing for $77 in both ears. They did not inform me that I cannot go for swimming for a year and that it takes around a year to heal, before doing the piercing. Had I know, wouldnt have gone for it.

I had a great experience at Rt 9 tattoo. I was booked for a consult with Andre. After looking at my design, he felt it was not something he could do. He asked 2 other artists if they could, and they could not. He explained clearly to me what their concern was with the design and recommended someone who might be able to. These are true professionals, who are not tattooing just for money. They are artists who consider the design and if their skillset matches what you are looking for. Highly recommend.

Got a call day of my appointment telling me they had to reschedule and would give me a call back to set something up......Still haven’t heard from them and it’s been a month already. Taking my business elsewhere. I have been going there for years back to when it was called Masterpiece. Disappointed.

I took my daughter (7) to get her ears pierced.. idk his name bit he was amazing.. we spent a good 4 hours in there (my daughter was not 100% about ear number 2) he was so calm and understanding.. she left with just 1 ear done but hey I know where to go when my daughter decides ear number 2 is worth it...

Went with my niece and nephew to get their first tattoos. Professional and knowledgeable staff with clean work environment. Comfortable atmosphere, and even though it is on the pricey side, you get what you pay for.

I got three of my several tattoos done there and, Ive had terrific service every time. Jason tattooed me and, they came out just the way we drew them up. Honestly dont know how people could knock this parlor or the employees...theyve treated myself and everyone Ive recommended to go there with respect and made our tattoo experience pleasant.

I was in a out in a total of fifteen minutes both times I got my helix pierced. They have competitive pricing and a very calm and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend it!!

I worked with Bosco and couldnt be happier. He took my idea and came up with a beautiful design. My only complaint is that it took a while to get an appointment, but that really just speaks to how many people want to work with him.

I have mixed feelings about my experience...On March 11th My mother and I went for our first tattoos..ever! DO NOT GO TO JASON...The tattoo artist we were appointed to was Jason. When he called us in he didnt even greet us, we had to introduce ourselves. I told him that it was our first tattoo experience which he totally dismissed. Not only that he had the strongest body odor. I could go on but I really want to keep this short just do not go to JASON. After enduring so much rudeness and smell of B.O. we had to walk out of getting the tattoo...we went to the front desk and we let them know our experience and they were able to give us another artist who was just AWESOME. He was courteous,nice and really took the time to explain what he was doing. His name is STEVE, i recommend him! Loved the experience with him and loved our tattoos! The store took the time to apologize and really turned the experience around.

I just recently got a tattoo on my foot and had Shayna do it. She was fantastic!! I loved my tattoo, Im an artist so I drew up my tattoo and she did it. She recommended placement and I loved it. No idea who people are talking about at the front desk of being rude but Ive been in there several times and never had an issue. I did go in as a walk in and ended up coming back a couple times because of time issues which was fine. Some tattoos are more time consuming than others. Ill definitely go back to Shayna in the future.My second tattoo I had to wait for the guy to come in then get set up which I wasnt happy about. Waited 40 minutes for him to start. The tattoo, again my design, came out great I love it but I wish he was on time since I had other appts that day to get to and it put me very behind but I wanted my tattoo. LOL! Ill wait next time for Shayna tho she was amazing and funny and very personable and on time. They are a bit pricey but well worth it.

Natalia was recommended to me by a friend, so I called to set up a time to meet and talk with her about some ideas. She was very nice when we met and I was super excited to work with her. I needed an artist to draw my tattoo as it was a large back piece. We looked at some pictures and talked about ideas. She gave me contact info and asked that I email her the pictures so she could have them to look at. She said give her a week. She replied when I sent her the pictures so I know I had the right email. Two weeks later I sent her an email after having not heard anything, and one week after that I sent her one more. I never heard from her. Very VERY disappointing.

Don’t come here for ear piercings. They Only use hoops and not studs which caused issues with healing and resulting in the piercings being closed. Also twice the price of many places. They are very clean otherwise which is why I gave them two stars

This is a customer service rating only since the shop never got our business. I would rate it a zero if not for the extremely courteous young woman at the front desk. A friend referred us to this shop, and specifically Natalia, however she was not available for a few weeks. We tried to talk to Jason but he had no interest whatsoever and seemed completely irritated that we were taking up his time. He did let us know that he had been doing this for 20 years. Maybe it was just a bad day but now I see several prior similar comments. In any event, the shop lost 2 or maybe 3 customers today based on first impressions.

I have had 4 piercings there no problems.

Prior to my most recent visit to Route 9 Tattoo, I had 5 of my 6 other tattoos done at other studios. While I havent had a bad experience at any of the other studios, this most recent visit to Route 9 has me convinced that all of my future tattoo work will be done here. I will detail the reasons why my experience here was so positive by breaking it out:Easy Process: I initially send a message in via Facebook to get an idea for how to approach a consult. All of my other tattoos are relatively small and havent required much pre-work or discussion, but this project was much different. Someone got back to me in a matter of hours and very clearly explained to me what to do. I stopped by the shop one night when the artist that I wanted to work with (Natalia) was there. I spoke to her briefly and explained my idea. She let me know what timing would be good and how long to book an appointment for. She also explained that we would work out the details via text as we got closer to the date.Finalizing the Design: I sent reference photos and details/meaning to Natalia via text. She replied with a couple of drawings and some follow up questions. We very quickly and very easily came to a final design that literally made my heart skip a beat when I saw it.The Tattoo: Natalia made the entire experience enjoyable, comfortable, and easy. I was at the shop pretty much all day, but it flew by. Throughout the experience I saw that the shop is clean, everyone is professional, and theyre dedicated to giving their clients a great experience and a beautiful tattoo. They care about their art and the people that theyre working with on it.Overall, I highly recommend Route 9 Tattoo and I also recommend Natalia as an artist. I reviewed the work of all of the artists there and they are all incredibly talented people, so you cant go wrong there, but Natalia is amazing. She also clearly communicated the care of my tattoo and when to stop back in for her to see how it heals and what to expect from any next steps that we may need to take (touch up, etc).

Overpriced ink thats not even worth the money

Absolutely terrible costumer service. When I first walked in, I asked for an available artist to do a sit down and talk about my tattoo. Instead I ended up talking to the receptionist, who not only didnt even call the artist for me, but was UNBELIEVABLY rude as well. When I explained what I wanted, he shot down every thought I had and told me the piece I wanted was impossible to do. Then after some further explaining, he tells me itll $300 to get work done to me. Yah, right. I got a quote on my piece from three other shops and all of them were in the $150 range. I wont be coming here again. Overpriced, terrible service, and terrible staff.

Okay so let me explain my horrible experience at this so called tattoo parlor!. I went in excited about getting a tatt talking about different ideas was indecisive about what I wanted but figure they could help me out cause there artist and thats what artist do artist help bring images to real life! well nope not them the sabotage them! I finally came to an idea of what I wanted but not once did this guy Jason make me feel comfortable about getting it done he was very rude started insulting my chest tattoo but thought maybe he had a weird sense of humor so I just ignored him but anyways long story short I paid $200 for a diamond tatt that was very simple after he was done looked like a street tatt the worth $50!!!!!the guy that did my tattoo was named Jason and he shoul bE ashamed of himself talking bout hes a artist for 20 years more like 20 days I wish I could upload a pic on here so everyone can see the work he did! this something I have to live with on my body forever I was stupid to go along with it but he did not put no effort no thought no compassion he hurt me like hell and felt no remorse I kept saying he was hurting me and was like Im bout go up on a price like you gotta be kidding me I was treated like an animal I cried and cried cause I allowed for a situation like this to happen to me and didnt realize till I got home cause I kept thinking about it over and over and just thought it was me and was in denial lastly I realized how My tattoo was wrapped in just plastics with blood dripping down my neck he didnt even bother putting in a gauze but I will never recommend this place and never return there they can have the chump change they got from me I hope noone ever has to experience a horrible service like I did!!!!!!!!!
