Have been here countless times and have decided its time to share how great this place is. Service is always exceptional and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere here is inviting and cozy. They have a nice selection of teas and coffees to choose from and offer dairy free milk options. Try their crispy fries and veggie wraps! Perfect spot for a casual date or night out.
Cute aesthetically pleasing brunch/ lunch place! I definitely recommend coming here with friends or family. It’s very cozy and have vegan options here. There’s also live music and a lot of paintings and pictures all around the entire cafe. Food is really great as well as the wine selection. I never tried any of their sweets but if it’s like everything else, it should be delicious as well.
This is a very cute place. You feel like you are hanging out in Williamsburg Brooklyn. I went for the brunch. I had the quesadilla breakfast. It was great. All the food was so freshly cooked. For dessert I had the chocolate moose cake. The owner and staff was very attentive. I would definitely recommend it.
Just three houses off the intersection of New Hyde Park Road and Tulip Avenue is the Starving Artists Cafe. Spring abounds in every cozy corner, and no matter where you gaze there are bunnies, eggs, flowers, and pastel colors. This is such a festive space I felt a little like this must be a set for Alice in Wonderland. Artisan featured works surround you. They have a great menu that includes daily specials, paninis, wraps, flatbreads, burgers, salads, sides, appetizers, soup, and desserts. Today we ordered the Turkey Panini and Cobb Salad. The panini was a good size with turkey, melted Swiss cheese, bacon and ranch dressing. The Cobb salad was large and visually appealing. Sliced avocado, eggs, mixed greens, chopped tomato, red onion and crumbled bacon made this a tasty and filling dish. They also have quite the dessert case, but we had no room to partake this time. They have a monthly Psychic Night that is popular. Next time we are starting with dessert!
Both times I have visited have been incredibly pleasant. From start to finish the service is helpful, friendly, and inviting! The cafe has an artist theme as titled and is filled with fun and eclectic decorations. It even holds a small gallery. Seating is available at dining tables or comfortable couches. The menu has variety, and so far everything I have tried has been delicious.(unique surprise: they offer wine, beer, and brunch drinks options). I would highly recommend and definitely will be visiting more often!
Excellent family owned and operated restaurant. Delicious food, always consistent. Try it; you will definitely love it!
I was at the restaurant for a 60th birthday celebration. The food and service was exceptional! Very courteous and caring staff.
Amazing place to take a date.
Hidden gem cafe. Cute and friendly spot for some yummy, homemade food, and spirited atmosphere.
Very cool down to earth vibes. Good food. Good mimosas.
Great food and friendly staff! Everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely go back.
Love. Love, Love this place. And adult version of the witches brew with actually real food. Highly recommend this place
Really nice place very welcoming great atmosphere, decor, and great food choices. Loved it.
This is one of the most quaint places I have visited in Long Island. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The owner was on site and extremely attentive. It has a nice eclectic feel with the decor....couches and benches with high and low tables and chairs... So cozy! Also the food was very tasty with an inspiringly fresh menu. Theres an actual small Gallery there where the art is on sale and where there was a live performer. So cool!!! Highly recommended.
Always a wonderful experience there beautiful atmosphere great owner great food. Marcy and Paul
Interesting atmosphere. Music was a nice background sound. But the need more dessert choices. Staff friendly. Will definitely be bringing my husband on our next date night.
Great service, super cool atmosphere. I couldnt figure out where to look because there is just so many interesting things. Brunch was yummy!
Hands down the best coffee shop in the area. Very chill atmosphere, comfortable and spacious. The service was great - this is not a place you rush in and out of. Pick spot to sit and get comfortable! The menu has enough to satisfy all of a kind - from breakfast to desert. Its a great place to meet with friends and an even better place to Work from home.
Fantastic food and service! My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and everything was perfect! The venue was perfect for our families to get to know one another before the big day! The owner and his staff made sure everything was flawless and we couldnt be happier!
Great food, great vibe, great owners. What more can you ask?
Very cute space. Reasonably priced, well prepared and tasty. Very children friendly and very involved in the local community with holiday-themed weekends and hosted events. Very friendly staff. Definitely recommend reservations especially on weekends as it can get filled relatively quickly. Very cute nook/cove acting as a hanging art gallery showcasing local artists works.
Meh. Went for brunch on a busy Sunday morning so Ill give you the 1 hr wait. Great host working the reservation desk. Food came out quickly once ordered. Wait staff was friendly. But I got a thing against pretend crab Benedict that uses deep fried breaded mass produced crab cakes. Nothing special here
Small menu, but they do everything on it really well every single time we go in there, which is much better than uneven fare at larger restaurants. The price point is maybe a casual chain like Fridays or Applebees, but this is real food and not the processed junk of the chains. Simply the best bacon cheeseburger at least in Franklin Square...but maybe on LI. And they had a French toast ham egg and cheese sandwich on special that was even better. Hand-cut fries and good soups are also a plus.Highly recommend!
I loved my experience. I went with a friend of mine and we had a great time. The staff was super friendly. The place is clean and cute. The bathroom is also very nicely decorated. I would recommend this place to everyone. You wont be disappointing.
LOVE THIS PLACE! Please come here and give this family owned business a chance to wow you! They have a small nice parking lot so you do not have to worry about parking. The owner Jeff is so nice and the staff was nice! My chocolate mint tea was incredible and so were the burgers. The decor was so artsy and beautiful. This place is legit a hidden gem in franklin square and I highly recommend it. Absolutely no complaints and I was thrilled with the place with its creativity. They also host events and you can rent the space for events as well. Best cafe in the area!
The divine dining experience, Top-notch staff, and hospitable atmosphere, Comfort food array of teas and the dessert are to die for. Artist oriented willing to help those catch a break-in anything ranging from traditional media and photography.
Unique place, good food & entertainment. Revolving artist displays. Limited seating. Reservations recommended.
Awesome food and great place to chat
Great little place!! Decorated beautifully!! Food and service was great!! Worth coming to!! If there were 10 stars i would give them a 10. I will come back many more times!!
The food was served hot and fast and tasted fresh. I loved the stuffed French toast (like a McGriddle, but MUCH better.)The ambiance is also fun, and I really liked the art gallery feature!
Loved this cafe. Felt like I was finally in a place where they had some artistic flair. Just so sorry it took so long
Hidden treasure. This place is so charming. Great menu for lunch and light meals. Amazing desserts too.
The food is great. They have a gallery of art that changes every two weeks. They have a small parking lot. So get there early. Beautiful place, great staff, moderate prices. Tulip Ave.
A wonderful place to relax, have some coffee, and maybe a meal. Stopped in for a coffee and a small bite. The owner (Jeff) was very hospitable. The coffee was well prepared, and the dessert item was delicious. Pricing was very fair. The interior of the space is very inviting...bright, high ceilings, nicely decorated. I would definitely return.
The pesto was delicious. We had the chocolate lava cake for dessert. It was very good. The staff was friendly and kind. Loved the use of couches and space to create small, almost private dining areas.
Food is excellent, friendly staff, nice easy listening music. Great place to unwind and have a nice night out.
Great food and service. Live entertainment most Friday nights. Their starving artist burger comes on a pretzel bun with brown sugar maple bacon ---- soooooo good!!
Eat here on my lunch break regularly. Great paninis wraps and salads. The resturaunt is decorated beautifully and all the staff are lovely.
An absolute gem in Franklin Square. I walk my daughter here and she loves it. Food is lovingly made and price is very fair. Beautiful atmosphere and music on Friday. We havent had a bad meal or experience here. Highly recommend.
Mouthwatering food, cozy environment, and very festive! We went a week before halloween, you can see how cool the decorations were!! Only downside was how slow our waitress was. Older lady, spanish decent. Waited 20 minutes after finishing our meal to get the check. But the other servers were timely 👌 Would definitely return!
Food was amazing!! I felt like I was at home our a close relatives home....it was cozy and warm. The owner came over ti greet us and the waiter took personal interest. Will definitely go back!
Took my kids out to get some food, and it was great! High recommendations!
Nice, artsy warm welcoming cafe/art gallery in a converted house. Great atmosphere, good food and desserts, wide variety of coffee and tea, live entertainment, awesome rest room, friendly owner. Relax/hang out with friends/display your artwork for free in their gallery. Highly recommended.
Its a cute spot for brunch. Reasonably priced. The food is really good. Make sure to make reservations for Saturday/Sunday brunch.
Good food. Good people. Havent had anything in there that has disappointed me.
Awesome food and decor. All the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Feels like home. I rarely write reviews but this was well deserved!
My friends and I were there on Sunday and I loved the food and the way they decorate the restaurant. I cant wait to go back! Staff was friendly.
A cozy cafe with a fun and decorative atmosphere. Great place to meet friends and feel at home. Recommend the apple walnut goat cheese vinaigrette salad!
This is the place to go if you want a really fresh homemade black bean burger.
The owner is friendly. Decorated beautifully! Food is good. Relaxing atmosphere!
I almost drove past this place, it looked like a regular house. I was pleasantly surprised once I stepped inside not only to see how cozy and casual the place was bit also how many people were there! Great atmosphere!
Best place in the area. Great food. Great service. Great vibe for writing or meeting with a friend.
The place is really cute and friendly. Theres a small parking lot. Food is good, and decently priced. Great tea and coffee options.
Excellent food. Very nice atmosphere
Starving Artist Cafe never disappoints me, the potato leek soup was superb. The service was quick and friendly. I love the atmosphere and the music.
Very quaint nicy decorated and goo food! Will definitely go again!
Love the Starving Artist Café! The food is great, nice warm atmosphere, and wonderful staff. You can tell they are family owned and operated as they take pride in all aspects of the business. They did a great job with my daughters graduation party.
Amazing food! Excellent coffee! There isba nice variety of food and the coffee is exceptional.
I had a high quality burger and excellent fries and the service could not have been better. They have interesting decor, a relaxed atmosphere and live music that was really nice.
Small hokey place prices are $$. Service is good and food well prepared.
Found this place on Yelp and am so glad I did. I ordered a French Scramble (their most common breakfast order, apparently), and can confirm that its a worthy choice! Nothing was overseasoned (which is typically my preference), but everything was paired together so well. The barista was super friendly and knowledgeable regarding their menu options. Im sure Ill be back to try a few of the other things she mentioned while Im in town. Its a comfortable/cozy working environment and the prices are great.
A large selection of desserts and tea. Nice service! I love this place 🥰
This is the second time I have left the restaurant after an extended wait for service. The restaurant seems to be under staffed. A dedicated barista would be a positive addition freeing up the waiters to tend to patrons.
Came on a sat afternoon for the first time and enjoyed it so much - had the turkey burger and a pot of tea - the restaurant itself is well decorated and cozy..great dessert menu as well - will def be back
What a great place! Food and service are wonderful!
We really enjoyed our visit ... The food was really delicious ... We had the pear salad and burgers. The burgers we pretty big so definitely have the burgers if your in the mood for a hearty meal !!!
Food was excellent, great service. I recommend this Cafe. I will definitely return!☺
Ordered the Thanksgiving in a sandwich panni, wow! The maple applewood sandwich is my favorite!
Great environment, friendly staff but food was not good.
Nicely decorated for the Holidays. Long wait to get our food and drinks last time. Ill give it one more try.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, decent coffee. Service is a bit relaxed but it fits in with the environment of the place.
The service was great, and staff were super friendly. The coffee and cheesecake were amazing, definitely recommend this place!
Good food, friendly staff and cool decor. Definitely worth a try if you havent been there.
My family and I have been here multiple times, and every time weve gone, the friendly owner has come over to our table multiple times to say hello, chat, and check on our meals. The food is excellent and plentiful for the reasonable price (I recommend the wraps, but everything is good), and the decor is inviting and filled with art and things youd expect to find in a well-decorated American living room. There are often special events in the evenings, from local artist art auctions to paint nights. Couldnt recommend it more.
Cute, intimate, interesting menu, plenty of parking 🙌
A warm and friendly!little cozy nook with something for everyone. The Starving Artist burger, signature dish was finger lickingly juicy. Try their Psychic Night :)
Good variety of different teas, tasty treats, cozy atmosphere... Great place!
I absolutely love their bacon burger and the staff are great
Great place with a cozy, homey feel to it. Lots of meat decoratltions and a great gallery space that displays work by local artists. Delicious food, espcially the French fries.
Place is awesome, very friendly and welcoming environment with great food for solid prices
Decor leads to a cozy feeling, great little nucks to sit in. Tea by the pot and good menu.
The service and food is great.
Querky pace with good food
Very nice atmosphere. But coffee based on just one expresso shot. Watery. They can fix it for the extra charge.
