Called Vern in regards to a vehicle listed. He called me back and said the vehicle was not on his lot because his wife is driving it. He stated that the mileage (109k) listed in the newly posted listing was now more like 180k. He also rudely said he didn’t want to “waste his time cleaning it” and getting it to his lot if we were not go buy it. Oh my god, what a joke. I would rather peddle a bicycle to work than deal with this “Fast Eddy”. Trash.. Enjoy the auction car lot.
Stay away from this place!! Vern is a pathetic excuse of a business owner. There are plenty of other dealerships out there, go elsewhere! Take all these reviews into account before ever consider dealing with them!
All the low ratings are true. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Vehiclewas a bait and switch. BUYER BEWARE...Do not be pressured by this business. Learn from my mistakes, and others, and do not use this business.Upon arrival the vehicle was not on the lot and was brought to the lot later. Once the car arrived to the lot it was missing hub caps, the rims were in horrible shape, and the tires were dry rotted. The photos did not match the damage that was evident on the vehicle. Makes sense why the vehicle had been sitting on their lot for 150 days.Vern is rude and unprofessional and refused to allow the vehicle be taken to a autoshop for pre-purchase inspection. He would only allow the vehicle be taken to the autoshop of his choosing for stated fear of damage to the vehicle by a mechanic. This was after already paying the $500 deposit.I asked for the deposit back to the inability to get it inspected by a autoshop I trusted, and the bait and switch on the vehicle. They stuck by the deposit being non-refundable.He threatened me when I asked for the deposit back to counter-sue me to purchase the car. Do not be lied to and pressured to buy a car from them.
Just purchased 2015 GMC Yukon Denali from Certified Motorcars.I had 2h drive to this place so I called and spoke to the owner of the place Mr. Vern before I came to see the vehicle.Mr. Vern described the vehicle as very clean and overall nice condition which it was exactly as described except 2 rear tires were almost bald and tailgate wouldnt open.Vehicle was offered for reasonable price so theres room to buy couple of new tires and tailgate repair. My experience with this place was nothing but positive.
Purchased a vehicle from this place was surprised to find that after one day the hood latch was broken. Called up the owner about it trying to work out a deal to split the bill on repair didnt wanna cough up a cent said it doesnt qualify under the 30 day warranty. Wasnt asking for much when I didnt haggle, payed upfront, and drove nearly 2 hrs away to check out a car. I mean honestly a car in an expencive purchase and they didnt even offer to stay open a lil late just so I could see the car. Nope, I had to rush up there like Im doing them a favor. The customer is always right, truth be told they dont give a rats a** if ur happy with your purchase they just wanna get their money and run out the door like a bunch of bandits. I shouldve gone to carmax.
I read all the reviews, good and bad, heres my two cents. Called a couple times about a specific car and talked to Vern who assured me there were no problems he was aware of. I wanted to be sure there were no issues before driving two hours. I got there around 10 as agreed upon, the one salesperson in the building found the key, told me how it was a clean, nice ride and its a great rig. The vehicle was not super clean inside, couldve used a detail, and the rust underneath was prevalent. I took it out for a drive, first bump I went over there was a loud clunk. Then I heard something else from the front. The AC was working, when I turned it to heat, there was none. I brought it back, brought up those concerns, and was told, oh yeah thats e the sway bar linkages, we just found out about that (brand new inspection sticker though). More salesperson shpiel, I asked how negotiable the price was, reply was its not. Told the dude ok, thanks, see you later. He was like youre not even gonna throw me a price?! I again repeated my concerns with the vehicle, gave him a price I was comfortable with, and received a no (totally fine). Then he asked what if I fixed that noise, would you pay full price? I told him I read the reviews and I dont trust that theyll fix anything or stand by the vehicle. He explained that I shouldnt put too much faith in the reviews because not everyone rights them. We talked about this, he took my number and I havent heard anything which is fine. All in all, Id say if you were cautious and know about cars it can get it inspected by your mechanic, check this place out. It doesnt seem like they do much to the cars besides the minimum they can get away with but the people I talked to were pleasant enough.
I was very impressed with this dealer as the place is a lot more impressive then it is online. Many clean vehicles to choose from as I went to buy one and bought another instead.Great sales help and very patient as well. It’s been three months since my purchase and a I am satisfied so far.I will keep updating.
I had been in the market for a truck for a while and looked at several in various conditions. They had the truck I wanted, a one owner Tundra, I told them I didnt want to deal with any BS and after 10 minutes with Trevor he showed me the truck, we came to an agreement, and I took the truck home the next day. I did a lot of research, I felt the price was very fair for the truck I got compared to the other ones I looked at and it was probably the shortest time I have spent at a dealership. When I picked up the truck they had everything ready, I signed papers and drove it home. Quick, easy, professional, how I like to do business.
I just bought a 2010 BMW 128i convertible from Certified and I must say it was an absolute pleasure dealing with them! They are easy going, friendly, knowledgeable and very good at what they do which is selling quality used vehicles at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a good used car or truck check out their website or find them on Craigslist, you will not be disappointed!
They have a great selection. Drove over from Maine to look at trucks for my husband. Ended up buying an F250 for him and a suburban for me. Great staff and very patient with us looking at so many vehicles while we were there.
I bought my 2010 chevy avalanche from here they treated me with respect and easy to talk with without the high pressure to buy something that I couldn’t afford it was a great price I paid for it
I bought a BMW there recently and I couldn’t be more pleased! I first called and spoke with Vern and he was very friendly and helpful. When I got there I was greeted by his son Trevor who was very friendly and showed me around the car and sent me on my test drive. When I returned he was dealing with another customer so Hagen finished my paper work and sold me a great warranty. Overall it was a great experience I was glad to see a family business running so well! I will definitely be back. I will definitely be recommending to friends and family!
We recently purchased a BMW from them. Vern, the owner assured us that the car was in good condition, was not smoked in, etc. We drove 90 min to the dealership and quickly learned that Vern is never there, according to the son-in-law. The car had been smoked in, wasnt detailed, but we bought the car anyway. Big mistake. Found out within the first week, that something was wrong with the drive shaft. Took it to our local mechanic to find out that it needed $600 worth of repairs. Even though the sale of this car included a warranty on safety issues, paid at 50% Vern let us know that he could have purchased a USED replacement part for $150. So he refused to pay more than $75 out of the $600 we must now pay in order for the car to be safe to drive. Worst car purchase we ever made. Dont trust their warranty, and dont trust Vern. Addendum: its been 3 weeks and he hasnt even paid the $75.00. We later found out the transmission needed a flush as well. Total cost of repairs was over $1K. We will never go there again. P.S. Three weeks later, still no money for any repairs. Certified con artist. May the buyer beware.
First time owner of a Lexus and I love it
Great experience. they put me in my new truck at a lower payment than i thought id pay and it was a very fast transaction. i paid about $3000 less than kbb for my truck with no rust and new tires. i couldnt believe it was 10 years old and in the condition it is in.
I own a lot of cars and just bought an 09 dodge 1500 laramie. Called ahead, said I was very interested, they held the truck for me and after a test drive and quick no-b.s. chat, we signed the paperwork, I gave my check, and drove back to Vermont. Great truck, honest and reliable people to do business with. Id buy another car there in a heartbeat.
The guys at the dealership are really nice! Very professional and upfront with everything. This is our 2nd time buying a car from them, and definitely not our last! The cars are used, you get a few dings or dents but, the cars are above average. And the prices are reasonable. Love the bank they go through as well.Thank you guys!! We will be back for our next round of cars 👍
BUYER BEWARE AND FOREWARNED 3/1/20My professional experience. I sold Toyotas for 2yrs and was about to be appointed the internet sales manager of the dealership before recruited to another profession with another company. I know the industry very well.My process with purchasing any used vehicle is to run a Carfax report, and if the carfax is clean, move on t the next step to put in a full due diligence assessment. The next step involves taking the car to the same brand dealership to run it through their certified pre-owned inspection process at my own expense to see what the vehicle may need, if anything. If the car passes with flying colors or needs some minor fixes, I negotiate that into the deal and purchase the car. If it fails, I move on to the next. Ive done this with my last three used car purchases, and every dealership has been happy and willing to allow this process to take place. It has served me very well with my last three car purchases, and I highly suggest everyone do it if you have the roughly $500.00 it takes to be this thorough. Here is my experience today, 3/1/20, with Vern over the phone. Vern stated he picked up the 2011 Red Volvo C70 convertible he has listed on his website from a dealership in MA that he deals with regularly. He said the vehicle has not been in any accidents, and it has a clean carfax. He said the paint looked all original when I asked about it. I asked him if he could give me the VIN so I could run a carfax, which he said he would. As I began to tell him what my process was, he stated he would not allow me to take the car to a Volvo dealership, red flag number one. I tried to explain to him what my process was and how well it works for me all at my own expense. He said he would not do or allow what I wanted to do because Volvo is selling the same product as what hes trying to sell me. I asked him one more time, and he said no, so I called him an idiot that does not want to sell a vehicle. Vern, Im sorry for calling you an idiot. It was unprofessional. I forgot my sales training to agree, identify the issue, and then overcome it. The Concord Volvo dealership doesnt have any Volvo convertibles. So what is Vern really worried about? They dont have what Im interested in, but they can tell me what condition the vehicle is actually in and what it may or may not need. My final assessment as both a former car sales professional and used car purchaser is that Vern is not willing to do this because he isnt willing to stand behind his product or his word. I can say this because every single dealership I have worked with over the last 3 used car purchases in NH and CT has allowed this process. I can say this as a former care sales professional because we believed in our product, as did I when I was selling them. You stand behind what you sell because you believe in it and are willing to allow it to be proven. Vern wasnt even willing to listen to what I to say or stand behind his product and has lost a sale and produced this review. Vern, I challenge you to this process. If you truly stand behind what you sell, youll meet my challenge for all to see, and if you do, you may even increase your google reviews. After all, they may be low for a reason. Dont you want to improve the reputation of your dealership??
I had a great experience. No pressure, theyre very knowledgable and I bought a great, reliable, used car for a reasonable price. I would certainly recommend checking them out!
These reviews are perfect. Everything is super clean, Easy miles and excellent condition, Then you get there and there all scratched up, dinged and over all deep down dirty, Many with dry rot tires. Ive been sucked in by Craigslist searches a couple of times, Its always the same outcome.
This place is great, you get deals on vehicles that are in great condition. We had bought a 06 Ford f-250 turbo diesel, and a 08 Bmw 328i. These cars have been some of the best cars ever in our family.Disclaimer: This is a great dealership
Was not very impressed with the salesman who met us. They did have some nice vehicles.
Buyer Beware!! My parents bought a car here that had major problems with an oil leak. They brought it back here and were sent to a repair shop that replaced something that other mechanics are confused as to what it even is. Didnt fix the problem either - finally took it to someone who knew what they were doing and had to pay $1100 to make it safe to drive - no more oil leaking out of the valve cover. Before purchasing anything from them I would take it to a garage and have it checked out thoroughly - of course, just my opinion, but if you want to possibly save yourself some hassle it would be worth it.
Great place to do business, beautiful showroom and friendly service. Im an avid car enthusiast and have bought multiple vehicles here for my collection.
Avoid this place. Went to go look at a 20k truck and when test driving it half the features didnt work (heated seats, navigation, ect) but the scariest thing is it had an inspection sticker put on it the same day and the horn wasnt even working! DO NOT waste your time here.
Great selection of very clean used vehiclesvery clean facility and it matches the knowledgeable sales staffmy second purchase here in 4 years and I will definitely be backyou owe yourself a visit to this dealer if your looking for a used vehicle
Great family dealer, the guys were very easy to deal with and the prices were fair. Would definitely recommend to friends and would buy here again, overall a good experience.
Truck looks good in photos brought cashiers check to pick it up and was a basket case . Rust bad repaint rotting shocks blown out cab corner for over 16000 flat tire and exhaust leak at the engine on start up just be careful when buying
I bought a 2007 Tahoe about a month ago from Certified. They were fantastic. It was a fair price, it was a great car and they were very easy to work with. After I purchased the Tahoe my mechanic said that it wouldnt pass inspection -- frame needed some work. Travis couldnt have been better about it -- took it back, fixed the problem and didnt charge me a dime. My mechanic saw the work afterwards and was honestly impressed These guys did you right.
Purchased a vehicle that ended up having suspension and transmission issues, I purchased the warranty also in case this occurred. Ended up trading it in and called to cancel the warranty as is usual and the owner Vern advised me I cannot and after I advised the sales person advised me it was cancellable, he then got irrate and told me to F off and hung up on me when I explained I would be writing reviews about how they lie to get sales.I work at a credit union and cancel the exact warranty I purchased multiple times per month. Buyers beware of their lives when purchasing from this dealership!
After reading some of the reviews. Seem to me, i should stay away from Vern and his son dealership. usually when theres more than one bad reviews there are many great reasons not to go there for business. thanks all for leaving good and bad comments
I drove 3 1/2 hours after calling the day before explaining I have 3 kidsbof my own and do day care for 3 more children and need a good reliable vehicle... How ever they tell me is safe and nothing wrong I drive it all the way back to New York runs good for 3 days then boom 💥 the engine seized and I call and tell them and Vern says he told me it was in safe when I purchased it which was a lie he wasn’t even in smh needless to say that’s 4000 down the drain and no transportation for me or my kids how do you guys sleep at night i say karma will play it’s course
Wow, sleazy used car salesmen defined by this place! The cars on this lot were so bad, it was unbelievable! We drove from Maine because Vern likes to keep his cars listed long after theyre sold to keep people interested. Every car here has bald tires, every single one! Crazy. We looked at one car and I noticed that the gas cover was chipped so I tried to open it to see if the inside was damaged, and the door fell off! It was literally glued on with magnets and had no gas cap! These guys are pedaling the worst of the worst, be careful! Cars are junk!
Sold them a car part online and they scammed me for a refund.
Your go to place for sketchy used car salesmen. They have mastered the art of the old fashioned bait and switch....
I drove over 5 hours to look at a car. The son of the owner, the only one there, was rude. I could go on and in about my awful experience but you get the point. Dont shop here. The air was blowing hot air in one car. The second one I drove and wanted to buy had a backup camera that was not working. This guy didnt care about any of that and told me that when you are buying a used car you just get what you get I highly recommend Dutch Chevrolet in Belfast, Maine and I love my new Tahoe!!!
I recently bought a car here the staff was friendly and helpful and they have the biggest selection of cars will definitely be back for my next vehicle
The owner Vern acted way out of line- was very rude, arrogant & dishonest. A dealer who treats polite, well-informed customers like dirt usually have something theyre hiding. Remember, its con-artists who love the poorly educated. After reading reviews of all the others whove been lied to and were treated similarly, Ill never shop there again.
Not your typical used car dirt lot, these guys have about 150 clean vehicles of anykind to choose from, definitely a great experience
Great staff, a pleasure to work with!
As a busy mother and professional, I use my vehicle to taxi kids and to transport disabled and elderly people. As such, I am very cautious about what I buy. After extensive shopping around and test driving we purchased an AWD SUV from here. Thomas reassured us that he was a family man and understood our concerns for safety, and would do right by us. As we went to the bank for a bank check (they would not accept a credit/debit card) he was supposedly calling in the mechanic to complete inspection items to sticker it. When we returned an hour later it had a brand new sticker on it and we were told it was all ready, but the mechanic was still not there. This caught my attention me, but optimistically I thought maybe he had come and gone quickly. The next morning in daylight we noticed the tires were mismatched, on an AWD vehicle, and two were questionable in regard to inspection regulations. Two days later the cruise control failed. Two weeks later the water pump, timing belt, and radiator went. I had it towed to the nearest garage who informed me of the extensive issues with the vehicle, including that the upper radiator hose and connection nipple had been previously damaged and rigged by someone who was intentionally trying to hide a known issue. The mechanic also said that these are things that would have been obvious to any mechanic who looked at the vehicle when inspecting it and tuning it up for resale. I then had it towed to a second garage for a second opinion, and they returned with the same information. After communicating all of these issues to Thomas, he initially stated he would make good on it and work with us to get these repairs fixed. The following day he called me back, and without having even looked at the car, stated that he KNEW I must have abused the vehicle and it was not his problem, before hanging up on me. I fully understand that there is a certain amount of risk involved with buying a used vehicle, and that only state inspection items are truly warrantied, but based upon the word of two well respected automotive shops, I believe that this was an intentional act by Thomas and Certified Motorcars to sell us a less than quality vehicle that failed in multiple ways within the first few weeks of owning it.
Warm friendly atmosphere and the boys are very helpful with any questions you may have.
If you have good credit lime the big car dealerships you will be fine.
Seems like a nice dealership with plenty of choices.
Drove all the way from Maine to look at a dream car of mine. It was $500 over NADA book but hey if it’s mint I’ll pay it. The car was far from mint. Scratches, rust and couple of missing parts. I didnt stick around to even hear it run.
The guy was rude when I tried to explain myself
WORST PLACE EVER!!!! The owner is a complete LIAR (in my opinion) Does not back his vehicles, doesnt tell the truth about his vehicles (most are from auction) Doesnt allow you to take it to a mechanic, ONLY has the vehicle checked for inspectable issues (does not address oil leaks, fluids, hoses, shocks, etc. I would give them a ZERO if I could. This guy needs to be put out of business. Someone is going to get hurt in the death traps he sells. Seems like poor business practices run in the family- His brothers place Bladecki Auto in Belmont has just as many poor reviews.!!
Bought a minivan here and have liked it, they did not do the high pressure sales tactics. Just make sure they will put a inspection sticker on your car, they dont do that for all the vehicles they sell
Guy was very rude after me asking about the car. DO NOT GO THERE
Will not being going back to this dealership. Working with Vern and his son not a pleasant/positive experience. Pictures on craiglist and descriptions over phone were not full picture bought a used Volvo xc90, for $12,000.00 questioned the tire treads before buying, brought it back with-in the 30 day warranty period asking for a little compensation toward new tires-got nothing but lines of BS. Vern says tires have another 10,000 miles-three independent mechanics say they would not have sold a car with those tire on it. After paying for car we drove it off the car lot with gas needle buried in the red. We have 4 and eventually 6 potential used car buyers in our family-this dealerships loss for not treating customers with more respect-made 3 - two hr trips-the last one because Vern wanted us to be pleased with our purchased(waste of time-his last comment was, Its a used card you should expect things to go wrong with it.). Hope the rest of the car proves to be better. Be cautious of inspection stickers(state only requires 1/16 of an inch of tread anywhere on tire in order to pass. Will update review to let viewers know how our car lasts over the years
Good place to buy a rig :)
This place should be called liars who sell garbage cans with wheels... rude, opinionated and mouthy vern lied right to my face... after sales was horrible.
Owner seems fairly knowledgeable
Dealer guaranteed vehicle was in great condition then refused to fix an issue that stopped it from passing inspection. I called from VT to the Dealership in NH to inquire about the vehicle before I drove there and I was cut off twice and he dismissed my questions saying the vehicle was in great shape, including no rust and there was rust in multiple places. Once I drove the 2.5 hours to get there with both my small children and was signing papers with, they demanded an additional $500 after we agreed they would pay $1500 for my trade and then refused to pay more than $1000 once we sat down to finalize the contract. They were to overnight the title once they got the check for the $500. A week after the check was cashed I text him to ask where my title was and was told it was mailed out the day before, however when it arrived the letter was stamped with the day I text which leads me to believe they did not mail it out until after I requested it. I asked about the 30 day warranty and was told we would be able to have repairs done in VT unless it was something major and may have to bring it back to NH. Once I received the title and was able to register the vehicle I took it to be inspected and it failed because the CV joint needed to be replaced and the brakes were in bad condition and needed to be replaced, both of which should have been obvious to their mechanic. I requested the dealership fix the CV joint ($330 with parts and labor) and we would cover the brakes. The dealer said he did not believe me or my mechanic and demanded I bring it back to them (5 hour commute) or they would do nothing. They sold a vehicle that does not pass inspection and are refusing to acknowledge the issue.
Decent options but alot of the cars on the lot have noticeable damage/wear and tear that should be addressed prior to being on the lot for sale.
Scam Man
