I got interested in trying to use the clear epoxy, so first was a small couch glass holder on a iron stand. Very successful on first try. Then decided to take on a giant project. Our old dining room table had been painted twice over the parque veneer. So two weeks sanding, then the fun started. Trying to do a bar type coat on a 9 ft table. Lots of mistakes because I did not read the instructions carefully. 5 gallons of bar top finish and the table is almost perfect. My mistakes barely show, but now my wife is crazy because the finish is so perfect that its hard to clean. Next project was with the deep pour resin. I had an antique Chinese tea table w chairs that the kids loved to use. No longer needed but not willing to junk, I decided to take off the glass top, cut the legs off, and proceed with the deep pour resin. I made one major mistake in not using the sealing tape on the bottom. Apparently there were leak areas I could not see, so the table drained slowly thru a crack and ended up epoxied to my outdoor glass table. Some careful work and the table became a beautiful wall hanger. Both of the epoxies worked great and Im thinking of the next project.
I bought a 100-year-old counter from a general store that had been closed for 25 years. I used a gel-based stripper to clear seven layers of paint off the counter top, and I wanted a hard, clear coat to capture the beauty of the old heart pine and the bits of paint that wouldn’t budge. I read a lot of reviews and watched a bunch of YouTube videos, but I kept coming back to UltraClear because of how easy everyone says it is to use.I bought enough epoxy to do the sealing coat, and that alone brought out the beauty of the countertop. But the flood coat this week was jaw-dropping!My one piece of advice is BUY MORE than you think you need. We ended up only having enough for 3/4 of the counter, which meant I had to do the rest the next day, creating a wavy line between the two sections. Thankfully, it will be under a pastry case and won’t show, but it would have been nice to have enough to do it all in one go. Our counter is 16 feet by 31 inches, which is 41sq ft. We got four gallons mixed for the flood coat, but we needed six. Better to buy more and have too much than buy too little!Very happy with these results and highly recommend this product. It is truly easy to use. Definitely put cardboard beneath what you are covering and invest in a $20 heat gun. It really works to get the glass smooth finish without air bubbles.
This was my first time ‘playing’ with epoxy. I took a credenza and turned it into a double vanity sink. I wanted to protect the wood from water, so I decided epoxy is the best bet. I had to create a dam to hold the epoxy from running down the edges. Used tyvek tape and clear silicone to seal the edges. Upon completion, I had to run a small router to clean up the extremely sharp edges. Next time I will use a much smaller/thinner line of silicone. Generally, the top turned out very well and clear.. but you definitely need all 72 hours of curing at 75 degrees or higher before working with it. If I ever epoxy again, I will certainly come back here. Very helpful staff too- thank you
First time to use Ultra Clear and it was easy to use and provided a crystal clear finish! I already have another project lined up to try it on again!
I’m so pleased with the result! I needed to refinish a small butcher block top (handmade by my now-deceased father) to my potato/onion bin. Just last year I painstakingly applied 5 coats of polyethylene, only to have Hubby place a HOT pan on it… no words. So, once the surface was stripped, fully sanded and smooth, it was ready. When my order arrived, I went to the site and printed out the instructions. Read them twice. I’ve never used epoxy before. I first easily mixed and applied the seal coat, then after 4 hours, the pour. The project requires being maintained at or above 75* for pour and for 72 hrs of cure time. I love how smooth the surface is. My result is not perfect, but only because of my circumstances. I had set up for project in my shed, but at the 4 hr mark, realized the pm temp was going to drop. I checked the temperature which already had fallen significantly, and had to quickly move my set up to maintain 75*. This piece required shims underneath to provide for a level pour. At some time after the pour, something shifted, and there are flow shifts visible. Nonetheless, I love it and I’m using it as is. Husband will ALWAYS use hot pads now.
First time ever using epoxy. Went great. Easy mixing and pouring.Only question would be directions say to use a medium speed drill. Haven’t seen any cordless drills with a medium speed. I mixed on low speed. Highly recommend this product. Just follow simple directions. Service dept was excellent for answering questions.
Terrified to do the top after being so labor intensive on making top and prep. Your product is definitely a five star. If I would have learned how to calculate, the correct amount needed, I couldve done it in one pour. I fell short on first and was pretty nervous about sanding, it went past the 10 hours after first pour but it turned out perfect. My first time with epoxy pretty happy with the results.
Im impressed! My first time and not only do I like it but so do a lot of others. Definitely going to do other projects with this. Most of my tables are polished Mesquite, but this was fun.
So I’ve been doing cabinets and renovation work for a very long time but I’ve never used an epoxy for the top coating before. Being a complete novice I went at the project is if I had done it 100 times before. Well I made a couple of mistakes particularly on not sealing my edges, on the trim so I had some spill over but oh my gosh the top is crystal clear exactly like glass and exactly as they indicated it would be. I followed the instructions verbatim and I used my plumbers torch to remove bubbles and I hate to use the word shocked because I expected it but it’s absolutely perfect and beautiful! I give this product a five out of five stars, for those who are spinal tap Fans this equates to an 11 out of 10! I cannot recommend this product highly enough. The product is competitively priced and it came within the quoted time.
I used UltraClear for my café’s front bar counter with spectacular results, and I liked it so much I used it for our custom-built back counter as well. I learned a trick from my builder that made it even easier—triple taping the edges instead of letting the epoxy pour over. After letting the epoxy harden for an hour, I removed the tape and allowed the epoxy to “roll” over the edge. Dripping was minimal, and the finished edge was just as nice. Less waste, too. Looks fabulous!
Great product. Was referred to this product by manny with Oregon woodworks and glad I made the purchase. It’s tough when you browse Amazon and there are pages of products that you have no idea if they are any good. This product is superior and easy to work with
This was my first time ever using epoxy. Needless to say...I was nervous. Knowing that you get one chance at it didnt help. This product was simply amazing. If you follow the directions as described on the website you can breathe easy knowing that your final product will turn out amazing. In my case it was 200 year old reclaimed pine used for countertops. The results were simply phenomenal. Crystal clear and smooth as glass. Pictures do not do this product justice as its even better looking in real life. If you want the best this is it. Highly recommend.
The UltraClear Epoxy was almost foolproof. It mixed well and poured smoothly. Popped air bubbles with a torch quickly and it hardened up so sleek. Many compliments so far! I highly recommend this epoxy mix for any table or bar top. Im doing a round bar table next and I will be using this. Also, the company always answers questions quickly and easily.
Oduct was pretty easy to work with, have to follow the directions!!! And little advice, order a little more than you think you need.
The best stuff I have ever used and easily applied.
I used on my concrete counter top and it looks fantastic!
Fast delivery, dries smooth and clear and good price. Easier towork with than others i have used
I’ve used their epoxy numerous times - both tabletop and deep pour. As an experienced epoxy user, I find their product to be great in all regards. Low odor, ease of use, and the viscosity allows for sufficient bubble releasing when doing deep pours. When given the proper time, cures rock hard. I’ve done pours from 20oz all the way to 4 gallons and their deep pour has stayed true for all of the in-between. Great product that I’ll continue to use!
Did exactly what we needed it to do - dye epoxy to match some wood.
Deep pour worked great, my bar came out awesome with these products
Worked great! looks like Im walking on glass over pennies. Very cool.
Your review“New countertops 😁👍🏼This epoxy worked perfectly to update our older green laminate countertops. We are extremely pleased with how fantastic they turned out!Not to mention the price is great in comparison with other companies. This was our first attempt so next time we do a project we’ll have a little experience.“
I am new to using epoxy but my few projects turned out great using their products, and their customer service is top notch.
This stuff is hard as a coating can be. Easy to apply, I mixed the wife poured. Probably took us about 45 minutes to do an 11x11 penny floor. Looks great. Hopefully it lasts forever.
Honestly I love these pigments and I’ll be only buying these colors from here. I honestly recommend. 10/10 It’s so easy to use which is mainly why I love it but also there colors I just love it so much
I had never worked with epoxy before my recent shuffleboard project but would highly recommend Ultra Clear Epoxy. Simply follow the detailed instructions provided on the website. Customer service is excellent in helping to answer any questions you might have. Be patient and trust the process. I would highly recommend this product without reservation for your next epoxy project!
I have tried other epoxy resins and I have to say that this one is by far the best one. Not only super clear but hardens to a high strength. I emailed other companies about the Hardness Rating. All if they answered me back were at 85 and under. Ultra clear states a Shore D Hardness Rating of 98 and I could tell the difference from this product and other products that I used and still have around. I tested the items by doing a finger nail press test. Others were leaving a nail indentation while this product did not. Great stuff and when I need to do another pour this will be the go to.
Awesome Product! This was my first time using epoxy for anything and it was very easy to use with concise and clear directions. I did end up with some air bubbles but my prep could have been better to avoid that and the bar mat covers it so its fine for me. I built a steel frame around both bar tops and caulked the edge underneath but I should have caulked the top as there were some spots where there was a good sized gap and product flowed more than I expected. Also, I edge glued boards together to make the top and there were some gaps that could have probably been filled with the skim coat but I must have missed them. Overall, the product works great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, just take your time with the prep and youll be set!“
Went perfectly. As long as you follow the directions, you’ll end up with a perfect result!
We have a wood countertop that we have built and decided to use the UltraClear Epoxy and wow, we are so happy that we did!It looks wonderful! Super easy to mix and use and we love the results!
Great product. Especially for beginners. Table came out very well not completely finished it yet but it held up great and was easy to do
I made a river table with Ultra Clear epoxy with walnut. The Deep blue pigment gave it a rich blue color that was perfect.
Fast delivery and easy mixing. The epoxy dries clear with no bubbles and hardens quickly. Usually in 4 hours. Its probably the best epoxy Ive used. Great for the table tops Im making. Thanks yall!
Great prices, fast shipping and easy to use for beginners! Very helpful customer service if you have any questions. First bar Ive done and it turned out great just follow the directions!
Everything I have bought from these folks is excellent. Their customer support is second to none. Always able and willing to walk you through any questions or process.
This brand is amazing. I love the brand new vibrant pigment line and their epoxy is absolutely amazing. 10 outta 10.
I purchased this product after a ton of research, read all of the product specifications and description on the website. I looked over all of the finished projects that I could find, several of which were outdoor bars / beer gardens. I followed the directions and the coverage was not quite as described, so I ordered another shipment which brought my total to well over $500 for a 12 bar top. The second coat did the job and looked good. No where in the specifications or product description on the website does it mention that this is an indoor product. After several months outside, the product has cracked, peeled off and the wood underneath is ruined. I called customer service and was told this is an indoor product only and theres nothing that they will do about it. So, I read everything that came with the product again, the description on the website and no where does it mention that this is an indoor product. So, I called again and was treated more rudely than the first time, I explained that Ive looked over all of the instructions, website / product description and again, no where does it mention indoor product only, nor is it listed as and FAQ. The ignorant customer service rep then directed me to the specific search under the FAQs that I would have had to perform to find this information. Im sure theyll end up making this clearly noted (or not judging by the ignorance)...however if it mentioned indoor anywhere, I would have moved on to another product and saved nearly $600 on the product and several hundred on the wood materials that are now ruined, not to mention the man hours to build and finish. Ive never taken the time to write a review in my life, but this was a big of money, time and the worst customer service that Ive ever experienced.
Your reviewFirst time with this product and works great. Im used to 3-4 Coats due to 3D effects I sometimes do on bars, cabinets, you name it I Epoxy it. 8 years now.... This stuff goes on thicker and spreads really nice, Plus you get some good work time. Its all about prep work folks...Fill them voids that create air bubbles.....These pictures are from a job this past week, Kind of different, All Cabinet doors. First I do my inside with my colors, tape it off to keep it where you want, Let sit 20 min peel tape off and let dry, The next day is my last pour around the edges and try to keep new epoxy off of yesterdays colors.....I would do a third coat to cover like glass, But it looks pretty cool like this.....The Consumer loved it............Sooooo great Product Folks, Sorry for the Teaching Lesson.....But ya Gotta Love Epoxy......
Best epoxy I’ve ever used! Super responsive to me if I had any questions about the epoxy. I’ll continue to use Ultra Clear Epoxy for any upcoming projects of mine! 🙌🏼
100%, UltraClear is a fantastic product that gives you the crystal clear deep luster coating that you want/require and it is easy to use as long as you follow the manufacturers instructions.
Great product and very easy to work with. We used it on an outside bar and it makes it look so much better. We are planning on adding one more coat and painting the brick for a cleaner look.
7 years ago I started learning how to do epoxy. I tried several different name brands. Then I came across bestbartopepoxy.com and I have used it for several years now producing some awesome epoxy jobs. I will continue to be a loyal customer as I get requests for epoxy work.
This product is very easy to use and rise to a Krystal Clear and hard finish best product I have used this will be my third bar job I have done“
Excellent epoxy. I have never done this before and was nervous to try it- but it was much easier than I thought it would be. I my project had holes in it which I did my best to seal prior to pouring, but still some leaked out, meaning I didn’t have enough epoxy for my project- not their fault at all. The parts that are completely covered look amazing. Epoxy is crystal clear and perfectly leveled :)
How to improve a lowly tiki barBuilt a tiki bar for our boat dock using original concept materials. That meant tearing apart a number of wooden pallets. Choice of pallet was taken into consideration- wanted wood grain predominance. After sanding and staining, had a really good looking bar. However, I wanted to give it a kick. That was accomplished using the UltraClear Epoxy. Folks think it looks great and Im extremely happy with the product.
This was my first time ever to use epoxy resin and liquid tinting. The instructions were clear and concise. Would definitely consider using again! My concrete bench had a recessed inlay that I wanted to fill to both decorate and help keep it from filling with rain in winter and freezing. Very easy to use.
I ordered a number of different colors from their site to test with an epoxy table project. They came to me quickly and were the different shade of blue I was looking for. I even called them up with some additional questions which they took the time to answer. Ill be ordering from them again!
“I used this product maybe 4 years ago to cover a concrete countertop with a dye tint. Its been very durable. Every time I clean down the countertops, I see that it was money well spent. I just bought another 4 gallons to finish of the same countertops at my cabin.“
I’ve been experimenting with soooo many different epoxy brands for the last yea and a half until I’ve finally come across Ultraclear. Table top AND deep pour viscosities making pieces as little as coasters to the 21’ ocean bar top I’m pouring at the moment and Ultra Clear is AS RELIABLE as it gets! Priced perfectly. Easy to use. Little-to-no bubbles. Virtually zero odor. Clear as glass. Simple as that……
I read many of the low star reviews and was a little concerned about the outcome so I ordered a 1 quart pack to experiment. FANTASTIC RESULTS!! The resin is much more forgiving than the negative reviews say. I did build a curing tent with a space heater and mixed the resin and hardener EXACTLY as outlined in the FAQ articles. The pour was a little angst producing since I had no experience but the final result was stunning. I’ve now ordered 2 gallons for the REAL project and am confident it will be wonderful.
So easy to mix up. Takes much longer than I expected to set up, or maybe I’m impatient. It is thin, so make sure you create a good dam. This worked well with my Chocolate Pearl powder. Let it flow mix with brown liquid pigment. I did have to tend it every few hours as little bubbles kept popping up, but it just gave me an excuse to go take a look at it again!
Ive used quite a few epoxy brands. This is the one. Table top and the deep pour, both are stellar. Their pigments are amazing and they sell Osmo finish, silicone and mixing supplies. They are the one stop shop. Super fast shipping and absolutely amazing customer service. They answer questions and have a bunch of resources on how to do projects with their products. They be my fav. Fa sho.
I make wood and epoxy rivertables, charcuterie boards, and art work. Deep pour epoxy for the charcuterie/ rivertables, and countertop for the art. I bought both items for my work and have absolutely no complaints. Amazing product, amazing company, amazing customer service. The clarity is unreal!Ive read the bad reviews, and its clearly operater error, not the product... I know several makers who use and stand by this product.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Product arrived damaged, Best Bar top Epoxy blamed the shipper and basically said sorry. They offered a tiny store credit, but why would I use these folks again when they do not stand by getting the product to you in a form you can use. This product is expensive and the service is terrible. Go to Home Depot.
Really fast shipping and it was free!
Bought ultraclear online . When it arrived in closed directions were complicated and dry time was excessive as was the temperature of 75 degrees for 72 hours. Called company asking for their return policy. Was told they had no return policy and would not accept a return. He told me I could build a tent of polyethylene and put a space heater in it to get the temperature up to 75. This sounds dangerous and is inconvenient. As a business they should at least make it known that they have a no return policy. Now I am out $250. This is terrible customer service. I guess money is more important than integrity. Do not buy their product. It is not worth it.
I wish I could give them NO stars. My husband purchased over $200 worth of product from them to use oncustom cabinets and countertops he is making for me. He was unable to use it because of the requirements for the temperature and he called the company to see if he could return the unopened bottles. They told him they did not do returns. Have you ever heard of the A company who offers no refunds of any kind? That means there is no customer service. Do not use them ever. EVER.
