Gary is the best! I found King Bee Guitars a few years ago after searching for someone to clean up a messy refret job done at a different shop downtown. That store has since closed down. Gary got the guitar back to prime condition in a timely manner for a very reasonable price! Since then, hes gotten a few pawn shop rescues for me playing like new as well as restoring a couple vintage gibsons for an out of state friend. When he says itll be done, its done. You dont have to call a million times checking on it and receiving promises of next week each time. His sense of customer service is excellent and he aims to please. In short, going to Garys shop reminds me of the Nashville music community 20 years ago- down home, humble, and over achieving. Highly recommended!

The owner is really friendly and was a pleasure to deal with. I couldnt believe my map when it said there was a guitar shop right off 96 in between Murfreesboro and Franklin, but there he was. Im glad I found this shop, and will be buying from him in the future!

King Bee Guitars is the only place I get my guitars worked on. Any minor or major repair to acoustic and electric guitars. They also sell a wide variety of vintage guitars, amps and gear at very reasonable prices.

Gary Gilbert, by far, is the finest Luthier in the area. My father was a renowned songwriter and passed away in 2015 and Gary restored his 1937 Gibson country and western. With an instrument with such an intricate history, Gary restored to its beautiful original playing condition. By far the finest playing accoustic that I’ve ever played. He loves your instrument the way that you do and you cannot do better with guitar repair even around Nashville. Best setup for my 97’ US Baladeer, “Betts”. Also, if you’re a picker, you won’t want to leave his shop and end the conversation. Great artist, craftsman and man. Thanks Gary!

First and foremast Id like to make light of a misleading review concerning a guitar paid for but never received from King Bees. If youve done business with Gary you already know better, but Id like to debunk that bogus.A person actually scammed people for their money for a short period of time falsely using King Bees name. This scam artist was located in Texas and is 100% unaffiliated with Gary or the original King Bee guitars.As for King Bees service? Gary has setup two of my guitars, including a Les Paul (full setup) and a Ibanez Presitge (setup and a pickup swap). Both guitars were ready in a week and played as close to ideal as you can imagine. Every time I stop by he drops what he is doing and will carry a conversation with you, sharing his amazing stories and treating you like a small business owner should. Anyone that has done business with him immediately recommends his business.

Ok,disclaimer, King Bee is my first cousin. That said he is the best repairman in the area,well, as good as Joe Glaser. He is also the reason I got to meet and sell a guitar to Peter Frampton.If you need a repair or want to visit a cool music store make the short trip to Arrington. I guarantee you wait time wont be as long as any place in Nashville.
