Iβve been shopping around for a colorist for a while so I could make the transition to redhead (probably too long given my before picture haha). Sara was an absolute wizard. She made sure to consult with me both before and at my appointment and made the effort to do all her research to get me just the right shade of red. She made for great company over the long process and made the whole experience fun. Thank you so much for your talents, Sara! The atmosphere is so relaxing and friendly. Kudos to the owner who chose the decor. Itβs so warm and welcoming.
I always have a great experience at The Artisan Company. They are always friendly and accommodating. Jason takes the time to listen and get to know your style to make sure you get the perfect cut and color. He is professional and knowledgeable and I feel so beautiful when I leave!! I cant imagine going anywhere else for my hair needs!
I visited my new stylist here for the first time a few weeks ago- SO cute! The atmosphere is so cute and welcoming! All the hairdressers and staff were thorough and consistent with sanitizing and faces masks to ensure a safe environment during COVID. Everyone was very friendly and I loved the music they played. I switched to a more natural shampoo and conditioner recommended by my stylist sold from here and am in love! I am used to walking out of a salon somewhat disappointed - I was beyond satisfied with this experience. Looking forward to my next visit!
An experience unlike any other. The staff is fabulous, friendly and funny. Jason, the owner, is an absolute gem. My hair always looks 5-star when I leave and I feel pampered. Prices are reasonable and product they sell is amazing too. I love the vibes and beauty of the salon which is always changing. Overall, I will never go to another salon unless I move!
Very cool salon in REO Town. Every time Ive been there Ive had great experiences. The staff are very cool, welcoming and so talented! They seem to love working there which creates a positive atmosphere for everyone. The interior is clean and boasts a sweet style, artsy but classy. Ive gotten the best hair cuts of my life there and hands down the best salon Ive been to.

First off, I enjoy getting my hair cut, its a bit of a strange thing but having nice hair is one of those wierd joys in life. With that, I really try to keep a hairstylist as long as I can and at a lot of places the staff fluctuates like a fast food restaurant. Here Ive seen the same people for almost a year now and no matter what I throw at them, whether its a cut and a wash or asking for my hair braided up for my wedding its been a good experience for a fair price. My stylist Hudson spends an hour on my hair and charges me less than I feel like his time is worth. I always leave looking good and happy I went, which is really all I can ask for.
If you need vivid colors or anything else fun Shelby is your girl! Every other artist at this salon is top notch, professional, and knowledgeable. Relaxing atmosphere π
I got a balayage and cut from Brittany and I am so happy with the results. She put a lot of time and effort into everything she did, and it shows. The price was very reasonable for the amount of time it took and how great my hair looks.

Awesome, friendly staff in a beautiful place.I came in for a consultation to change my hair color and style and Jason was an excellent host. Greeting me and offering their new beverages as well as talking to me about all the new tea flavors they had just received.Then I met with Ashley, the stylist who was so wonderful. She talked me through my different options in going from a red color to a blue color, and was realistic with me about what I should expect. She helped me decide on a hair cut length, and I left the salon loving my new look. I will definitely go back again.

This was my first time coming to this salon & from beginning to end my experience was great! I was greeted promptly with a smile when I first entered, was told about the different services offered at the salon & was also offered something to drink. The atmosphere was pleasant, very clean & the staff were all nice. Itβs nice to walk into a place of business & not feel like just another customer in a chair, but to feel really valued as an individual and walk out feeling beautiful with beautiful hair! They have a great website and you can make an appointment from there. They offer natural products and positive energy. Good vibes here. Staff is friendly and very helpful.
The atmosphere at the Artisan Company is wonderful, everyone is so nice and personable. Brittany is an amazing hair artist, since the first time I went to her she understood what I wanted done with my hair and did an amazing job. I recently had Reiki done with Brittany and it was a wonderful edition to my hair service. I felt calm and peaceful once my reiki service was complete. I highly recommend the Reiki service for any person an especially moms!

This is the cutest salon! I love the look and vibe of this place. There are large windows and lots of natural light. The decor is beyond adorable, a kind of modern and eclectic mix. Like bringing the feel of a warm sunny day inside. There is even a wall made of grass... right?! The products offered are Davines- made in Italy and all natural- they smell so good! And they sell beautiful jewelry!My stylist, Shelby Danielle, is amazingly talented. She tames my thick, curly hair with the cutest cuts and I always get tons of compliments. She is also a skilled color artist, who isnt afraid of a challenge!!! Win Win!

Great prices and better quality work than Ive had at high end salons in LA. Artisan is a Gem!

The Artisan salon is amazing! As soon as you walk in the door you are greated by friendly smiling faces and a beautifully styled display area. Upstairs is a comfortable welcoming environment where you are offered refreshments while you are being pampered! All of the staff is amazing at their craft and I cannot say enough about how much they make you feel like a part of their family! Love them!

What a terrible experience! I went in to have my roots colored to cover the gray. Courtney was my stylist and destroyed my hair color. I left the shop with a wet head and roots that were bleached and not the color of my hair! I am very upset and displeased with the service I received. After she realized that she messed up my hair, the owner Jason tried to resolve the issue by asking if he could put a different color in my hair. At that point I was furious and wanted no one else in that shop to touch my hair, I had no trust in them after they allowed a new, inexperienced stylist to PRACTICE on my head. As the owner talked to me, the other stylists stood around and just watched as if I were a side show. I will never advise anyone to go to this place. And to make matters worse...I felt as if they never had a black woman enter their doors for service because a guy stylist continued to name every black actress he could think of as I sat waiting to be disappointed. I wonβt go as far to say that they were prejudice, but definitely not cultured or diversity trained in that shop! SMH

As the warmer weather has made its presence, I had a strong urge to chop off my long locks. I was a bit nervous, but Sara Upshur put me at ease as soon as I sat in the chair. She listened intently as I described the look I was hoping to achieve and offered suggestions along the way. The result: a bob cut that exceeded my expectations. Im so happy I went through with the cut and that Sara was the one to do it!

Erik transformed my hair from an ugly bronze brown to an ash blonde. Posh atmosphere, a little expensive but worth it. I will be coming back.
I had a massage here with Caryn and it was great. She was very responsive to what my body needed. I am recovering from a back injury and this was very helpful. I made an appointment for another session would recommend her to my friends.

She took my indecisive description of needing something new and gave me a fresh style and perfect-for-me ombre color. (And she is great with my childrens hair too!..bonus!!) I cant recommend her or the Artisan Company enough. Looking for a new stylist/colorist? You need to call Sara.

Jason and the entire staff are phenomenally talented at their craft and committed to their clients. Gorgeous space, without the pretensions of other high end salon. LGBTQ friendly.
I was far less than impressed. I have been to quite a few hair salons and this one was by far the worst. It has been about a year since I had my hair cut and colored by the owner. I asked for balayage and I definitely did not get it, instead I got an ombre that only flows on the first layer of my hair. When I put up half of my hair it goes straight from my natural hair color to blonde and the underside of my hair has absolutely no blonde in it at all. To make matters worse he did it in such a rush that my hair became fried a few weeks later and I have been working to get it healthy again since then. My hair has grown hardly 3 inches becuase my hair is so unhealthy from the treatments. Then to top it all off, in the beginning he told me it shouldnt be more than around $100 the first time I came and $80 the second time I came, but it ended up being around $350 when it was all done. He also could obviously tell that I am younger since I mentioned it was for a school event with some friends, but he still proceeded to charge me way over what he said it would end up being. It was also the most awkward experience ever, he barely talked to me or made conversation so I sat there in silence the whole time because every attempt to make conversation failed or ended in an awkward silence. Definitely not going back and I would never reccommend this place to anyone.

I really like this barber shop. I picked it up and chose Ashley as my hairdresser. In this area, this is my favorite barber shop. The barbers dont feel like downstairs director Peter. Everyone is very cool. Especially Ashley. The haircut is a little careless. But true nature. The massage before each haircut is really comfortable.The price is good. not cheap. Get 50 knives at a time (including tips). But the effect can still be guaranteed. Especially if you can take your own idea to get a haircut and accumulate it, you can still form an image that suits you.
