The service is top notch with everyone in the store being very knowledgeable about different shoes, ways that people walk, and how it all works together. They helped me find the exact shoes that are perfect for my feet and way of walking (I have wider feet). When the exact size I needed was not in stock, they put in an order for me. I was surprised when I got a call a few days later and I was told that the shoes were available faster if I ordered directly from the shoe manufacturer and that they would refund me so I can order that way. That is awesome service that they were willing to forego a sale so that I can get my shoes faster! I was in no particular rush, so I kept my order with Lucky Road and am happy that I did so.Full confession that I always buy cheap shoes that I end up wearing for years. Talking with the great folks at Lucky Road has really changed my way of thinking, and I highly recommend you check them out as well. Every time I have purchased a pair of running shoes here I got the best service. I dropped in last week after seeing my foot doctor for a nagging ache in one of my feet...I was overloading the later column of my foot and needed a shoe that was going to give me more support than my current shoes. Being a neutral runner I wasnt sure exactly what that meant so I made my way down to Fredericksburg and was helped by Chris. I have worked with him before and he is always so patient and listens to my concerns. I have been running in New Balance for the last couple of years and didnt really have any complaints. I loved the shoes but, my foot was feeling something else! He brought out a couple of pairs for me to try..one of them was the Brooks Ghost. They were a huge difference than my NB 1080 shoes but I knew I needed it. I asked him a million questions, we joked and had good conversation. I ended up purchasing the Ghost shoes and have taken them on a few runs so far and my foot feels great. i was concerned about going from an 8mm toe drop to a 12mm but he assured me this shouldnt be a problem, and it hasnt. In all the years I have been running Ive never been a Brooks girl...but I thing the tides are turning! Thank you Chris and Lucky Road. ~ Anastasia C

I’m always a little excited when I have the pleasure of working with Desiree, I just love her so much! Last week I had the pleasure of working with Cedric and today picked up a pair of shoes from Alexis! Amazing people all around. My size wasn’t available last week so someone from the Richmond store drove them to Fredericksburg. I always feel so confident in the shoes I’ve chosen because they spend so much time with the customers to make sure you have just the right pair. If that’s not enough, you can test them, run in them and bring them back for an exchange if they didn’t work out. I will NEVER buy my running shoes from anywhere else.

I stopped in to use a gift certificate for new shoes. Chris (Fredericksburg location) was awesome! I really like that they have try on socks as I just had a ratty pair of socks on that day. Chris took time with me to explain the wear on my old shoes and then provided me with three shoe choices. He took me outside and watched me run in each of them, and provided feedback. I say he gave me three choices, I know he would have given me more, but actually the first pair fit like a glove and there was no need to move beyond three.I highly recommend Chris and this store. I have been there before and each time I have been immediately greeted on walking in the door. If I am just browsing they back off, but if I need a recommendation or assistance they are right there to assist. Low pressure for sure, but great customer service, which is oftentimes hard to get.I give 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. I will be back again and again.

Lucky Road running shop is more than just a shoe store. Its community, family and great service! Highly recommend! Staff are very personable and involved in supporting local community events. They excel in educating youth and adults in health, fitness, nutrition and foot care.

This place is amazing. I had always run in whatever was on clearance at Famous footwear or Kohl’s. When I decided to run my first marathon my cross country running daughter encouraged me to get better running shoes. I felt a little out of place since I’m not an experienced runner but the associate quickly put me at ease. I was fitted and tried out a variety of shoes in 2 different sizes until I found exactly the fit I needed. These guys know they’re stuff. Each time I’ve returned since then no matter how many questions I have they take the time to explain what might work well for me specifically. There’s never any pressure, just excellent customer service and in depth knowledge of their products and running. I’m a customer for life.

First time i went in i was amazing by the service but the third time i realized everybody doesnt provide the same service the owners wife i guess seemed to be impatient with me and brought a clicky pen with her when she was speaking with me and was clicking her pen nonstop strangley timed to when i was thinking about the decision incredibly annoying dont want to go in if shes there first guy was cool expained everything to me what could be beneficial but unfortunately and also very oddly that when i returned to pick up a shoe the owner wife / manager wasnt able to provide the same service

The customer service is phenomenal and the staff legit cares about the quality and health of your fitness, which was evident in their above and beyond, no pressure educational style service. Really, this is a top notch place and my husband and I highly recommend. I dont remember the last time I really walked away from an experience feeling that pleased. Will return again and highly recommend.

Chris was a very nice guy and walked me through what shoe I should get. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a shoe that I liked in regards to appearance. Felt bad for using his time but he was still extremely nice about it. I would highly recommend Chris to other people!

Let me start off by saying this is not your average sneaker shop. This becomes more like a friendship.I got my first pair of running shoes last year. Thats how it all started. I got fitted for the right size for running and the proper shoe with my situation of my feet.I definitely went thru my first pair and needed to return this year for a refresher pair. This time Chris helped me. Let me just say that if have the pleasure of dealing with him, he is by far, the most friendly person to deal with and true definition of customer service.Chris went back and forth with me on finding the right pair that would work for me since my beloved pair are discontinued.He was very patient, offered to order them directly from the vendor since my size was out of stock, and after a few exchanges... we found the right shoe.If you need some encouragement he will go above and beyond to find the show for you.Dont bother stopping in at those places that force you to buy extra items for your new shoe when you dont really need it. Also, dont go to those places because of the fancy machine that they make you walk or run on....a true, experienced, place like this will be your best bet!!No, this is not a paid review but just a honest one to help others like me who suffer from foot pain enjoy a walk or run again. I went there because it was one of the very few places I could find Mizuno shoes in the area but got so much more. Levi was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He correctly sized my feet and I haven’t had that done since I was a kid. I got my Mizunos in the right size and style so now my feet are happy comfy pups.

Glad that they opened up this store closer to Northern Virginia. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well as willing to go the extra distance to make sure you get the shoe or equipment that is right for you. The customer service cant be matched anywhere and this is truly a great store!

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff! I visited a few minutes before they closed and they helped fit me for a pair of shoes. I never felt rushed though they were there for almost half an hour after the regular close time. Looking forward to coming back for my next pair of shoes!
