Service was awesome, food came out fast and delicious, and the dessert selection was out of this world! We got the 1/2 sandwich with 1/2 soup and both were phenomenal. The desserts we got were also great!
We all ordered something different and there was not a bad meal for any of us. Ruben panini, meatball sub and BBQ chicken pizza... and dont miss the lobster bisque! Hope you find room for dessert (Gelato is amazing).
I have been here a number of times and every single time the food and service blows me away! I brought my husband for the first time and he was thrilled at the selection and freshness of the food. You can tell its all homemade. The bakery was a wonderful perk and great way for my family to finish off their meal. So happy we found our new favorite spot.
This place is absolutely DELICIOUS! It has a tin of different food items and also some non-meat options. The dessert here is wonderfully decadent and there are usually about 20 options for that as well. They also offer Gelato in several varieties. Highly recommend!
This is one of the best secrets in Fredericksburg. It has everything all in one place from subs to deserts. I love their sandwiches and subs. Their mashed potatoes are to die for. You get your moneys worth when you order from this place. Customer service is always great. Would highly recommend this place.
First time eating there the food is excellent had the best Italian sub I ever ate....we will definitely be going back
I do like this place a lot (both locations) and have been many times. Everything Ive ordered has been great. However, I have two problems:1) The portion sizes leave a little to be desired...especially for Italian food.2) The website is not secure to order from. Literally, the page where you enter your credit card has ZERO security. Its 2021, not 1999. This desperately needs to be fixed.
The food was good; however, the service was not! We sat outside which I guess meant, please dont come out and check on us. When we were done eating one of the servers did come out to ask, finally, if we needed anything else. We told her boxes for the food. She asked my daughter if she was done, she said yes thinking the waitress would box the food, but instead took the food and threw it away! Granted there wasnt much left, but still we had just asked for boxes to take the food home. The Gelato was very good; however, we waited for at least 5 to 10 minutes for someone to help us. I dont know how long the man in front of us had waited before we got there. Just a little attention to detail and it would have moved it to a 5 star. It is a sit down restaurant but you have to stand in line and order and then they bring it to your table.
Delicious food and friendly staff. My fiance ordered the Hero sub with potato salad. I ordered the chicken parm. We both loved what we ordered. Since we have a long drive home we ordered a pizza to re-heat and got a mini canoli for the road! Their dessert selection looked scrumptious. Will be returning. They also have breakfast/brunch.
Amazing place with great Italian dishes and very tempting desserts. I went for the classic spaghetti and the meatballs were very well seasoned. I also had to pick up some dessert because it stares at you while you wait and I couldnt resist
We love Basilico for lunch or sometimes we just pick up a few desserts to share. Everything has always been great!
Hands down the best! An absolute must try, nothing on the menu disappoints.
Excellent eatery. Stopped on for lunch on Sunday and my wife and I both had the spaghetti and meatballs. Good was excellent, service wonderful and reasonably priced.Highly recommended.
WOW!!! One thing, ECLAIR!!!! Amazing spot for baked goods, great coffee and atmosphere. I for and outdoor seating. Plus to top it all of the staff is friendly and professional. Did I mention the offer Italian food as well!!! Did you hear that? That’s the sound of my mind being blown!!! I cannot say enough good things about this spot. Please support local, this spot need to have ppl packing it all day and night.
Of the several stops on my FXBG Dessert Crawl destination list. This one is by far one of the most important. They have several cakes and pies made from authentic recipes and ice cream flavors that youll be hard pressed to find anywhere else.My last visit, I had Tiramisu made from a classic Venetian recipe and a small bowl of matcha green tea ice cream. The Tiramisu was some of the best Ive had. Not too sweet with a decent dusting of cacao powder topping the cream layering the lady fingers that werent soggy with espresso but lightly dipped and still soft, not dry. The base layer of cake was perfectly moist with espresso that countered any dryness the lady fingers would have presented giving such a delightful burst of flavor that anyone a fan of Tiramisu would think about weeks later.
Read about this place online as a good lunch stop close to I95. It was excellent! The butternut squash soup was sweet & flavorful and the turkey panini was fresh, tasty, and piled high with turkey and fontina cheese. Topped it off with delicious coffee gelato for dessert. Staff were efficient, courteous and attentive bringing our counter-ordered-food to our table and taking away our trays. The place was also immaculate. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Fredericksburg, VA. You’ll be delighted.
Had my first visit and was not disappointed. Had a Margherita and Gyro Pizza and was thoroughly satisfied. Kids enjoyed it too! Nice dine-in environment as well.
This place is amazing. Cant wait to come back.
TL;DR: Gluten free pizza crust BAD, but overall rating GOOD.While traveling through Fredericksburg, I searched online for a place with gluten free pizza and found Basilico suggested. The place was clean, the staff were very nice, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I also loved that I could both get a meal and a dessert there, and that there were gluten free options for both. Im always happy when there are gluten free options!! I wish I had been there early enough in the day for the gluten free Ho-hos, they sound delicious. However, if youre hoping for a good gluten free pizza, know that while the topping (cheese and sauce, etc.) was great, the actual crust tastes like cardboard. Despite some opinions out there, you CAN have a delicious gluten free pizza crust. Kroger makes a good frozen one. Caulipower does, too. And Mod Pizza has two great gluten free crust options on the restaurant end of things. Im also a fan of Mellow Mushrooms option. If Basilico can get a different crust provider, the pizza could be really delicious there. As-is, it brings down the quality of the whole pizza. Dominoes makes a tastier gluten free crust than Basilico had, and Dominoes gluten free pizza crust tastes like what my elementary school served back in the 90s.Im still grateful when there are gluten free options, even if theyre not great. Its hard hanging out with a friend with no diet restrictions and being the one to shoot down restaurants in a row because they dont have anything you can eat except for maybe a house salad (hold the croutons). I love salads, but when thats all you eat in restaurants for too long, you start developing a twitch in your eye when someone mentions lettuce. Though I didnt eat them, Basilico said they also have gluten free pasta and bread for sandwiches, and thats great! I really appreciate the options being there.
I love this place. Its hard to beat their lunch menu and service. Top it off with a delicious dessert from the bakery. What a treat.
Looking for Italian pastry like... Real thing? Look No further. Serious quality.
Came here for a family dinner and glad we did.All the staff we interacted with were so friendly and didnt rush us through our orders, instead opting to have conversations with us throughout the order. The food was amazing as well. We ordered pizza, pasta, chicken, sandwiches, a little but of everything. It wasnt even around long enough to take pictures of!And the gelato was fantastic as well with serving sizes that definitely make other small scoops out there look like kiddie sizes.
I’ve eaten here several times. My meal was delicious every time except once. I’m not sure what happened on that one off day.I’ve had the Greek salad and roasted veggie sandwich. Both were fresh and delicious.Their desserts are amazing.Lots of parking, public restrooms, free WiFi.The dining room sometimes gets crowded at lunch and finding a table can be a challenge.
Fast friendly service. Delicious food!
Great selection of sandwiches. Delicious desserts!
Great quality food and reasonable prices. Always pleased with the service too.
The items on the Menu look so inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich. I want to try each one. The bakery section is, also, a must try. I highly recommend Basilico New York Deli.
Service was above expectations. Friendly, helpful, courteous from entering establishment until exiting. Menu options fit well the diverse dietary needs of our party.
Good but overpriced. Tiramisu excellent!
Love love love their gelato!! A bit pricy for sample size portion, but it’s tasty
Really enjoy the food and the sweets. Sibling tried pizza and really enjoyed it. Cheesecakes are good and worth trying. The ice cream I did not like
Love this place and it’s close by our house. Happened to see a urgent care next door and discovered there were this bakery! Lol now my life is happier with this new place I found. Amazing gelato and the cakes are delicious! lots tablets if you want to sit down and enjoy as well. The deli where you can order hot food and bakery for the dessert! It’s perfect 🤣❤️😍
Food is great and fresh. The bakery is amazing and the coconut cream cake is to die for. Service was prompt, courteous, and all servers were masked.
Best service. Clean. Best corned beef and cabbage platter in town. A lot of good food for the money.
The food there is always delicious, and the bakery and gelaterio are to die for. I always love eating here when I come to Fredericksburg :)
Really cute little shop, great sandwiches!
Excellent dessert counter. Fair pricing.
Italian food was very good here, for lunch we all had some kind of panini. The chicken pesto panini was good and the server was nice enough to bring out pesto to put on the sandwich and make it even better. Seating was limited though, despite Virginia being open up to full capacity, half the booths were still blocked off for seating.
A gem of a restaurant, tucked in a great spot.
Deserts were just OK. Expected more from a nice place like this.
Huge sandwich! It was 2 meals for me! Very tasty!
I have had a generally positive experience with this restaurant, with some issues that are really making it difficult to continue coming here.To start with the good, the food is amazing. No joke, it is some of the best Italian food Ive had. The quality itself is great every time and, for what it is, gets made pretty quickly. Unfortunately, that is about all the good I can say.My biggest issue is that, while the food is always good, it is very inconsistent with whether or not its made properly. Im big on calzones. This place makes awesome calzones and they are a pretty good size. There always seems to be some type of ingredient missing. Mainly, its like whoever makes them seem to forget that calzones are also made with ricotta. It adds a lot to the meal and that is a key ingredient, so its frustrating when an Italian restaurant cant even make one of the most popular dishes in the world without forgetting some type of ingredient. Like I said, mainly its the ricotta, but sometimes its missing pepperoni or ham. They also seem to have an incredibly hard time understanding that when it comes to a custom order, taking out one ingredient doesnt mean take out everything. My girlfriend ordered a calzone online without pepperoni and when she cut it open it only had mozzarella in it. Its things like this that turn customers away.My other issue is with the timeliness of takeout orders. I usually like to order online since there is less room for error (but somehow orders are still messed up). It will say it will be ready in 10 minutes (for example) and I get a text saying my order is ready. I live across the street, so I wait until I get the text to go over. When I arrive, they can never find my order and they tell me they are working on it. Last time I had to wait almost 20 minutes after I got the text saying my order was ready. So this is a bummer. I like this place, but its just not worth the hassle and frustration. There are plenty of other good pizza joints all over Fredericksburg. Go to Vinnys on Kings Highway.
Mac an cheese bowl was delicious! Desserts are awesome too!
Try the Bruschetta pizza! Actually try ANY of the pizzas, you will not regret it. And their dessert counter is to die for! Give this place a shot!
I went in today for ice cream and I’m a regular customer and usually the ladies in the bakery give me the parts I like but this time the darker skin girl( idk her name) gave me attitude for asking for a specific part of the ice cream which the other girls do for me and her service was so slow and she ignored me few times as I was speaking to her. If she’s there I’m walking right out the door.. leave it for the Italians hunny!!
Amazing place! Best mac and cheese for miles! Attentive staff! Everything one needs for a great dinning experience.
Sandwiches were good. Dessert was amazing!
This review is long overdue!! Ive had multiple menu items (pizza, sammie, pasta, salad, gelato). Its all delicious - fresh ingredients, well-prepared, and perfect portions. Basilico is one of my favorite spots to visit it Fredericksburg!!
Good for pizza and desserts.I went to this place with my sister, brother in law and four nieces. My brother-in-law was a little annoyed that they didnt bring his beer out before his meal. The service was a bit slow. I ordered the pick two: corned beef and cabbage stew and French dip. The corned beef and cabbage stew was good but did not have a lot of corned beef. The French dip was mostly bread and I thought the roast beef was over done. I would not recommend the French dip. However I did have some of my sisters buffalo chicken pizza and it was very good! I am usually not a crust person, but the crust of this pizza was delicious and made me think all the pizzas there are probably good. We also ordered gelato of various flavors and they were all delicious too. I tried the bubblegum, cookies and cream, banana, and raspberry (FOUR nieces). Raspberry was my favorite. My sister really enjoyed her tiramisu.
Great food good pricing, good employees and clean inviorment
Great food, great staff, totally enjoyed the experience.
I really like this place. It has the soup/salad/sandwich thing down. Their desserts look great but I havent tried them. The employees are very kind and helpful. They do have large heaters for outdoor seating as well.
Clean location, friendly staff, quick to get orders out and amazing food and deserts. Ive tried several things off of their menu and Ive never been disspointed. This place is a family favorite for sure. I highly recommend the BBQ chicken pizza.
Very Italian style of pizza with very thin crust in the middle and a nice crust. Well made with good ingredients.
Sandwich was great. Service great.
Perfect dining experience with a great menu. Looking forward to another visit!
Great soup and in-house bakery. Takes a while to understand the system. Sandwiches left a little to be desired.
Always love the environment here. Friendly staff and good food!
This place is SO GOOD! I just happened to walk in Basilico after I got off work because I wanted to try something new. I was not disappointed at all! The pasta I had was delicious and if you come here you MUST try their gelato. The customer service is wonderful!
Been our regular go to for years, especially now since they are on our side of town with the opening of their second location. The Cobb Chicken salad is the best in town, and the pizza is great to.
Customer friendly and food was good, but needed a little salt.
Rather disappointing. Big price tag for not the best food. The marina sauce tasted like they put a plain can of tomato sauce ontop of overcooked noodles. The chicken parmesan was also stringy.
Great place, good salads, sufficient portions...this is a favorite lunch stop
The service is good and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious (crisp salads, hot flavorful food, good wines, and incredible desserts)
Best gelato and pastries in town!
Ive been waiting to eat at this establishment for a while. We finally made it there, easy to find and nice inside. The desserts on display are the selling point for anyone entering. They are also separate from the actual lunch/foods one might buy. The only real issue I had was the menu. When you walk in theres a large menu board that you can see. This is an abbreviated menu, and the full menu is located in a basket, which I didnt know existed. It wasnt offered or even referred to, until I was going to leave because I saw nothing that I wanted and thought the online menu was now nonexistent. I thought the menu was larger because I went online. The menu online does not match the full size menu that was in the basket, and did not match the menu board in the store. Another words, three different menus which will cause confusion. At least have your online menu, and full size menus match, and disclose the full menu to those coming in.We ordered our food, and surprisingly it came fairly quickly. I had ordered a cheesesteak stromboli. It was baked and larger than i expected. It was fresh and well made, slightly greasy but expected. My little one got a bowl of spaghetti, also made fresh and well made. All the food was presented simply, but well. After eating all this food, I got what it simply looks like a giant ho ho. It has chocolate surrounding whipped cream with a strawberry on top. This thing was amazingly delicious. My little one got some gelato which didnt last long and she devoured.Overall great food
They make great new york heros.....if youve never had 1 before...I have qnd they dont even compare.
I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli ans shrimp, a side of mac and cheese and lobster bisque....let me just say EVERYTHING was delicious! I was so happy eating my food that I forgot to take a picture. Will definitely be ordering again!
Been coming here for a long time as time goes on they get cheaper and cheaper with the food. Your gonna spend at least $10-15 for a sandwich with a small amount of meat and a pinch of toppings. Dont even bother getting the soup because its always gonna be almost all broth no matter which flavor you get and if you say something to the manager theyre just gonna look at you like your stupid and not do anything about it.
It was fine but the rueben I ordered had ham and no corned beef.
I came for a Napoleon! Omg! It was delicious.
The tomato basil and Orzo soup was great and the macaroni and cheese was very yummy. The staff were attentive and helpful!
Good food but be very cautious about cross contamination of foods. My daughter ended up in the ER because cheese cake with no nuts came in contact with tree nuts without warning that there may be but products touching non nut products.
Excellent deliGreat customer service
