The flavor of the bagels are good. The texture and consistency are acceptable. They only have seasoning on one side or the bagel. They are not crisp enough on the outside for my taste. They do not use whipped cream cheese. Unless thats a North Jersey & Manhattan thing?Better than most bagels Ive had in the Freehold/Monmouth County area.Service was excellent.

Had the Marilyn Monroe, chicken breast with a couple of slices of pepperoni and provolone on a roll with mayo! Great sandwich! Nothing else to say as you can see from the picture.

The shop is clean, the staff is courteous (thanks Lou) and the food is amazing. Great menu. Orbit Energy and Power is installing solar on a near by building and the install crew has become regulars for the duration of the project because of the great food and easy parking.

Not the best experience. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and I got a wheat everything bagel. Little did I know that it was wheat and I am currently breaking out in hives. I wish the young man would’ve told me that it was a wheat bagel and not a regular everything bagel. I will more than likely end up going to the emergency room. This is not a real Brooklyn bagel either. What a disgrace to Brooklyn.

I love breakfast sandwiches. I especially enjoyed my sandwich from Brooklyn Bagels. I had an egg and cheese on an onion bialy. The bialy was sublime, the egg perfectly made, everything was perfect. I savored each delicious bite. The only downside was that I would eventually finish the sandwich. The gentleman who rang me up was completely polite and courteous. Thank you Brooklyn Bagels for making such quality products and such a positive experience!

A good place for a quick bite while on jury duty.There was a cafe inside the Monmouth county court house. It had good coffee, but food was not as good.So on the second day of my jury duty, I ventured out to Freehold downtown in search of lunch. Brooklyn Bagels was about a 10+ minutes brisk walk from the court house. It had a parking lot, so if you did not want to walk there, it was only a 3 minutes drive.It had 4 (or was it 5?) seats if you wanted to eat in. But most people ordered to go as the space was tight. I had The Italiano - Panini with grilled chicken, roasted peppers, mozzarella, and pesto sauce. It was freshly made and very tasty, though the pesto sauce made my hands quite messy. So make sure to ask for extra napkins.I went back again the next day and ordered a Baffallo Soldier - grilled chicken wrap with Baffallo wing sauce. Though the sauce was not spicy enough for me, it was still tasty with a warm whole wheat wrap.Service was pretty quick and very friendly. It was definitely worth the trip.

Love this place, I lived in freehold for 7 years and didnt even realize it was in my town until roughly 3 years ago. I wont go to any other bagel shop. Everybody visits this place from construction worker to judges lawyers etc!

Some of the best bagels I have ever had. I use to love there pork roll, egg, & cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel,great combination. Unfortunately I stop eating pork. Hopefully I will be in the area on Thursday, I will definitely stop in and give something else a try. They have pastries as well might give one of them a try.

The coffee was so amazing because they had three fresh pots recently brewed. The breakfast sandwhich was ok. Expecting more with a name like Bklyn Bagels, typical does not live up to anything like a brooklyn bagel Im from bensonhurst 86th st and bay parkway go there for a bagel and compare.

Their coffee is literally the best cup Ive ever had, and dont get me wrong.. Ive had good coffee. Always brewed fresh, its what I look forward to every morning, especially that Chocolate Raspberry! Bagels, sandwiches, even a quick snack, everything is prepared delectably. The bagels are made so perfectly, no one in the state can even come close. They put real pride in what they do everyday, and you may think, hey its just a bagel place, but when you can go into a place and they know your name, and ask about your kids, it becomes so much more than just a quick stop for a cup of coffee or a lunch. Do your taste buds a favor and stop in. You wont be sorry.

Their Google Maps info says they open at 6:30 am, but they dont. Not sure how good their bagels are, cause I didnt want to wait half an hour to get some.UPDATE: Finally got there when they were open (7 a.m. apparently). The bagels were OK, but didnt really satisfy the craving for a great bagel. However, their strawberry cream cheese spread was FANTASTIC! I am probably going to end up getting my spreads here and my bagels from elsewhere. Texture-wise, I enjoyed the bagels, though my wife didnt. The bagels were airy on the inside, almost bread-like, with a decent outer crust. My wife wanted a denser, chewier interior - as she said, if she wanted to eat bread, shed get bread. The flavors were fairly slight - there wasnt much to taste except for generic bread-like bagel, even in the blueberry bagel.

Food was good. No service. Order my bacon egg and cheese and sat down. No one told me when it was ready. So when I went to the counter to ask the girl had sandwiches in fold by the register. Like Im suppose to know the sandwich was ready?

Vegetarian and breakfast review: The bagels here are great. They are a bit different from typical Brooklyn bagels but that does not make them any less tasty. The onions and chives cream cheese was full of flavor whereas the vegetable cream cheese was barely there.Service overall is very good - they initially forgot to toast my bagel but they were quick to rectify the situation.Based on the food this establishment should be 4 stars. However, the owner who has been running this shop for 18 years was not entirely forthcoming with surcharges during the ordering and definitively way too defensive when confronted.Be warned that the jalapeno cheddar bagel (which is fantastic) has a $1 surcharge over other bagels. However, there is no way to know this until you pay for your order. It is not written on any menus, the display case and they certainly dont tell you while ordering. I was just shocked when I got a bill for $9 and change for two bagels with cream cheese and no coffee. It seemed excessive.When I confronted the owner - he told me about the surcharge but claimed the jalapeno bagel was new on the menu. If you look through my pictures - you will see it is printed on their menus so it could not be that new.At the end, the owner stood his ground to a degree and I left feeling a bit cheated.To give you context for cost: Even at Newark airport (which is basically run by a price-fixed monopoly) a bagel is $1.95 and $2-$2.75 for cream cheese. I don’t understand how they are more expensive.

This is the real deal. We drive from Metuchen for these bagels. They are made as NY and Brooklyn bagels were made when we were kids. Theyre chewy, full of flavor and not so large you cant eat a whole one, yourself. Friends in Florida ask us to ship them, fly down with them, and its the 1st place they want us to take them when they visit. These are true water bagels. Friends bring us Florida citrus; we take them Brooklyn bagels from Freehold. Weve not found a better bagel.

Nestled in downtown Freehold, NJ, in between San Marzano Trattoria lies a hidden gem, Brooklyn Bagels & Deli. Its located in a strip mall directly across the street from Court Jesters. Upon walking up to the door, youll see happy customers and sitting in the 3 or 4 tables located outside the door enjoying their freshly brewed coffee and bagels. As soon as you enter, youre instantly greeted by FRIENDLY employees. I know! VERY HARD to find around here. These workers/owners great you with not only a hearty hello but they actually take the time to help you with your order, especially if its your first time here. Those of you who know me know what Im all about...FOOD! So lets get to the real review...and let me tell you, THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST BAGELS AROUND! I know youre probably thinking, Nah Chris my bagel place is awesome. Well youre WRONG. Why? Four words....Jalapeno & Cheddar Bagels. Thats right! This place has perfectly cooked, fresh prepared every morning bagels, that have fricken jalapeno and cheese on top of them! Check out the photos if you think Im making this up. Not to mention they make a MEAN pork roll egg and cheese. Theyre the only ones I know of that put egg on both sides of the pork roll (see photo). Their homemade cream cheese combined with a nice french toast bagels can turn a crappy weekend into heaven! Trust me. Give this place a try...just make sure you leave at least two Jalapeno and Cheddar bagels for me!

Ever been addicted to a food? For me its the Jalapeño Cheese bagels here. I religiously beat it over there every weekend. My car is on automatic pilot. The staff are friendly and courteous. They recognize me as a frequent buyer.Marvin Gaye sung a song Make you wannna holler. Thats how I feel about those bagels. They are crisp and crunchy on the outside and delectably soft and fluffy on the inside. There are pieces of jalapeño imbedded in the top that give you a surprise jolt when you bite into them. I truly holler with delight every time that happens. Worth a visit to try them out.
