My buddy and I had the absolutely best time aboard the MV Fling! Captain and crew as well as dive masters were just awesome! The diving is incredible and I would recommend this 2 day trip to anyone!
Always a great time when diving with the M/V Fling! Thank you to Andy for Divemastering and Captain Denise for the boat briefing disguised as a very good stand-up routine. I really wasnt expecting to laugh so much and its nice to know Denise has a fallback career as a comedian!
The diving was good, the boat was excellent, the service and the food was very good. The staff was Excellent, very friendly and extremely helpful.
This was my first time on a live abord. The experience was really awesome. The dive on HI Island platform was amazing so many sharks. Wendys food was plentiful and fantastic. The divemasters really set each dive up super well with lines so it was easy to get down and up as well as navigate. Already planning for next time
Personal service, not for the under 18 crowd, Certified divers only, bunk bed dormitory style accommodations, charging platform available, dry camera setup table on deck. Camera acclimation and seperate mask rinse tanks, air and eanx refill stations onboard. Knowledgeable crew and divemasters. Great food.
Really a hidden gem for scuba diving in the USA. 12 dives over 3 days. Diving starts at 0700 hours. The most healthy coral I’ve seen since Cuba 1989. Manta Rays, Loggerhead Sea Turtles, Slipper Lobsters, Octopi on the night dives. We were fortunate with incredible conditions (which of course the boat has no control). The night dive at Stetson Bank was simply amazing for critters. The dive on High Island 376A ( oil rig) was mind blowing. The food is good and plentiful. The crew was friendly and well deserving of a 15% tip. Excellent!
Great crew, friendly and helpful
Great first trip on the my fling. The crew did a great job preparing the dives and keeping us well fed. Sharks and barracuda were plentiful on the rig and Stetson Bank. Can’t wait to go back on another trip.
Always have a great time with these guys JT is the best!
We have gone out on the Fling several times over the last 6 years and each time has been a great experience! Dive trips are at the mercy of the weather gods, so start making your offerings before you come down ;-). But once you’re here, drop your gear on deck, sit back and enjoy the awesome crew, steady supply of good food, and diving the “Texas Caribbean”!
This place is awsome!
It was my 3rd Trip on the MV Fling to the Flower Gardens. Usually in July the seas are 1-2 feet and its a calm ride. This year the weather has been kicking up bigger swells and the ride out was unusually rough. Take your seasick medications, use a patch, or you will be utilizing the personal seasickness bag with custom drawstring handles.Once we were out there the diving was awesome. I am told it is the most active, and healthy coral bank. I highly recommend diving here. The food is good on the boat and the crew is really nice. They work hard to make your stay with them a good one.
The Texas Caribbean. Superb trips. Great crew and safety is premium! Done 6 trips so far and had a blast each time :)
The Flower Gardens trip is a great, quick alternative to a week-long dive trip... Gone for less than 48 hours, 7 deep dives, lots of ocean fauna to see, and great staff/food!
Not for the faint of heart! My trip was extremely rough, very rough on the long trip out to the Flower Gardens, big swells remained throughout the trip making reentry very demanding. I was not prepared for the current - which was horrible, only strong swimmers could handle it. Divers are essentially on their own - no divemasters were present during the dives. The meals were hearty, not bad at all. General accommodations were quite basic, swells slapping against the hull made night times noisy. MV Fling is an older converted crew-boat and not made for comfort - she rolls heavily, some of my fellow divers were simply sea-sick for two long days and nights - hint, if you do go then USE THE PATCH!!On balance I would not recommend the trip - its expensive and at the end of the day wasnt that good. Id save the money and go somewhere a bit warmer and more colorful.
Great diving, great crew, always a great time!
