This place used to be a great place to get a good deal but now the prices are absurd, if your lucky you can get a 25% discount but you are still getting robbed compared to other places. if 6ou want to pay normal prices without the growers tax online is the way to go.

Great place for hydroponic growing needs, they’ve got the consumables always in stock, great selection of net pot sizes and plenty of nutes. Great used equipment for sale as well for people who don’t want to break the bank. One thing I would like to see is a wider selection of nutrient brands. They’ve got a few brands in stock but I would love to see Dutch Masters there

Great advice, inventory, staff. Theyd get another star from me if I could depend on items they stock. However they run out of items & cant predict when new stock will arrive. Probably the fault of their suppliers... but I need reliability.

Was disappointed the way they conducted business. I made a purchase and the cashier shorted me change and said sorry he dont have enough change. So instead of shorting themselves the cents they choose to short the customers. Im not worried about the change but its the principle was I really gonna break the business by them chalking up the change. Last time I shop there Ill pay the extra and go to another store as long as they conduct good business practices.

Staff was as friendly as could be. They had a special vendor day and I was given a discount on my bag of compost at checkout. Entire staff was very friendly and welcoming . Please bring cash or debit as they dont do credit cards for me this was not an issue but a little heads up for new customers.

Most of the employees dont know what theyre talking about, couldnt tell you whats best when you ask an opinion, act too good for the customers coming in&out, bad customer service- I have personally seen staff including upper management engage in verbal agressive fighting and attempted physical fighting with customers on multiple occasions. They HAVE GREAT PRODUCTS! DECENT PRICES. BUT THEY NEED TO REPLACE THEIR CURRENT EMPLOYEES WITH KNOWLEDGEABLE, EXPERIENCED AND FRIENDLY EMPLOYEES WHO DONT LOUNGE BEHIND THE DESK ALLLLLLL DAY.

Several reasons not to go here! 1. poor customer service. At checkout the guy was on hold on the phone and yelling at people to stop picking up the other line but couldnt be bothered to ask us if we found everything ok or really even acknowledge us! 2. paying was a hassle! Husband paid with credit his card company offers incentives if you run as credit not debit. When asked to show i.d. he provided a valid military i.d. and a valid AZ DL. The rude checkout guy then asks for CA i.d.! Im sorry we dont live here but thats the beauty of having a credit card so you can travel and still shop... He was almost going to refuse our purchase because I guess only California residents are allowed to shop in California yeah that makes sense NOT! 3. They are over priced after buying my items I found them else where for cheaper! So if you like to be ignored or treated like an idiot or both and pay more for things then head on down to Roots. I will never go there again.

Where else can you go to spend $500 on a lighting system, and that would be getting away cheap!Still, if youre planning on growing an indoor crop that might be worth tens of thousands of dollars, this is the place to go. Everything you could ever want to start such a system is here.Me? Im into aquaponics. And roots sells expanded shale that works great in aquaponics systems.The staff is overworked (who isnt?), but they were still willing to load 10 bags of shale into the back of my pickup truck for me. So I cant complain.
