This is the squid and veggie tempura plate, with salad and rice, for only $8.29. The squid had an excellent texture and was very flavorful. The vegetable tempura was light and crispy and the veggies had a lot of flavor. All of the sauces you want are included for free. The plate is very filling and delicious. I would highly recommend this place!

Ive been coming here for years but I want to say that Ive been coming here more often then not now because one of your employees goes above and beyond every time I order. I am a big fan of Central Fish Company. I travel quite extensively. While in Fresno California some years back, I stumbled across another hidden jewel located in historic Chinatown Fresno. Central Fish company has been around for over 100 years. This establishment is a fish market/Asian grocery store/mercantile/sit down eatery. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions all orders are takeout only. I drive almost 2 hours just to eat at this place. I really love their fish and chips. They have different types of fish that you can pick, and a wide assortment of food items on their menu. The staff is friendly, and the environment is welcoming. The food? Amazing! If you are a fan of the Hawaiian dish Poke, they offer freshly made meals to go. You can purchase this in the eatery, or from the fish market counter. You can even request samples to taste.

Id rate it five stars, except they hardly ever have any or at least have much, sushi in the display case near the front door 😕. Granted, l usually ride there in the later afternoon, but it seems like since its nearly or completely empty most of the time in the afternoon, then they should be able to increase their stock and still not worry about not selling most or all of it. Other than that, their selection and prices are good and I dont think you can get any fresher fish anywhere else.Their restaurant selection and prices are very good too. Everything is cooked to order and they are very fast, even when it seems busy.I like that they have a bike rack (so many businesses dont) and especially that it is right by the entrance.

Purchased a case of Rock Oysters, Pacific. Staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. Bravo on customer service. Now time to clean and grill for my second independence day..

Small restaurant that has a good selection of food on the menu, including seafood, chicken, and beef dishes. Service was quick and friendly, but expect to wait a few minutes if coming during lunchtime hours. Most dishes are under $10, which is great!

If you like to have a lot of oily food....this is the place.My husband and myself were excited to try the food because it has many reviews...sadly the experience was not a good one... lets say we rather eat Panda Express than this.The tables are dirty, many flies around.

If you love seafood, theres a deli in the back. This is the place to get fresh fried calamari steaks. Deep fried beaded clams and tempura vegetables. I normally order before I shop.

So much variety. They have a huge abundance of fish and seafood. They were preparing to butcher a large fish of some sort right there. The little restaurants food is fresh. It was possibly the lightest fish and chips we have ever had. Not at all oily. Very hearty portions

For Friday family dinner night we chose Central Fish Market Restaurant. There was a nice hometown market atmosphere with plenty of choices for a meal and a snack. Weve been wanting fried fish for a while now and chose this location based on the distance from home. We shared a fresh Tuna spicy salad, which was average yummy. For dinner I got the 8 piece fish fry with french fries (ended up being 2 fillet cut into 8 pieces), I wasnt expecting that, I felt kind of tricked. GF got the seafood fry combo (fish, shrimp, squid) w/salad & white rice; rice was not like other rice and just didnt pizzaz us, but it was edible. Our girls got chicken nuggets with fries which were good but tasted like something you could make at home. Sauces were limited and basic, nothing special and looked & tasted store bought. The food was ok but nothing to celebrate or start spreading the word with excitement. My opinion youre better off buying frozen food and warming it up at home in the oven or fryer, save yourself some money because this is exactly what it tasted like. I dont think we will be back, our girls even said mom cooks better, we look for places that cook better than us; unfortunately this place wasnt one of them.

Only place I shop for fish. You can purchase whole fish scaled and cleaned, or fileted. Sushi grade is available as well. They have so much more, in Crustaceans and other sea life too.

I was so excited to try this place. Maybe it was just a one time thing, but i ordered the special butterfly shrimp, and fried salmon nuggets. Well, the shrimp came out decent, they left out the salad and tempura and the sauces that i asked for. They didnt even give me salmon nuggets, then gave me raw salmon. Called to inform them and they made it seem like I ordered it wrong. Ill give them another try. Hopefully this was a one time thing

I cant exiles how cool it is to walk into central fish and be able to come out with exactly what youve been craving. Dungeness crab and some exotic candies today. Pricing was on point also. $30 for this much crab.

Amazing place, hadnt been here in a while. Stop buy to get some Tilapia whole fish for frying, and some large shrimp. Excellent variety of seafood. Lots of choices on sauces and seasonings. Would definitely recommend this place.

Sashimi grade tuna and salmon have been on point for homemade poke bowls. Making moqueca with their reasonably priced and fresh fish has been a great experience. Not a whole lot of selection for typical asian markets with non perishable (noodles/sauces/ingredients(coconut milk, oils, etc)) but the fish and seafood are great.

Best fried fish Ive had in town, hands down!

They have really good poke bowls from the restaurant, but I usually get the prepped sushi box to go during lunch time because theyre made fresh daily and theyre ready to go right by the checkout register in case youre rushing during your lunch hour.

Service was great, friendly and fast. Food wasnt all there, meat tasted like it was watered down and old. Ordered the beef bowl.

This is the only place I go in Fresno County for the Asian food I need. They wrap up the fresh fish with ice which is appreciated especially if its hot weather. They also have a very good restaurant but take-out only during these Covid times. I recommend this store.

First time visiting. Plenty of Japanese products including sake and sake related cups. Loved the selection of premade sushi. Large pieces for a reasonable price i think. Will visit next time Im in town.

I got wasabi, 3 limes, 6 codfish fillets and 1/2 dozen live oysters. The fish was very fresh & tastey. The pacific oysters were a little bitter, but thats normal. I liked the Fany Bays better than the Blue Points, however all were fresh & wonderful.( P.S. I got 2 of each to find which type I liked best....Fany Bay Oysters are both tastey & beautiful.) I made a wind chime out of the shells. People were friendly & helpful as always.

Community staple. It makes me a little emotional that I can get fresh fish and poki like I used to back home in Los Angeles. Not hyperbole when I say that this may be the number 2 reason I move to Fresno from Merced. Around holiday time last year, they had Lobster tails for $10/each.

Ive been going here all my life. And I was surprised they were open during the pandemic. I had my favorite food vegetable tempura and sticky rice. Then I went nextdoor and bought $100 of fresh fish: lobsters, snow crab legs, catfish, shrimp and a fish thats related to Red Snapper some kinda Rock fish and fresh Salmon. So delicious!!!!

Central Fish not only has the freshest fish and most variety, they have a great selection of Japanese vegetables too. Everything Japanese you need from miso, sake, rice crackers to beautiful ceramic dishes and tea sets, Central Fish has it. I am very grateful that this store exists!

They forgot to put my tempura veggies in the bag but other than that my food was 🔥... The calamari was cooked perfectly and it was so sweet. I will definitely be going back.

I love this place! There’s a great variety of products, they even have a little section of hawaiian products. The fish and vegetables are always fresh, it’s our go to for seafood.The restaurant is great. When full, the indoor seating can be a little squashed (but thats not really a problem right now anyways)The quality of the food has never wavered since I was a kid, and the new menu items like the poke bowls are equally delicious. Today we stopped by and got some katsudon, fish n chips, and gyoza. They actually forgot our gyoza(we didn’t even notice) and ran out to our car just to give it to us!

Excellent and super fresh seafood ! They also serve ikura which Ive been craving forever. They have it in little cups which is the perfect size. Also they have sushi on Fridays . So good, highly recommended!

Terrible tempura lunch! The batter wasnt fully cooked. I am sure the shrimp tempura was from the freezer section in a big chain grocery store. The salad was not fresh. Lettuce was limp and slimey. And no soy sauce with the meal! Horrible restaurant!
