Stopped by when I was in the mood for a Middle Eastern dessert while visiting Frisco. The Customer Service was amazing as soon as I walked into the door. Several of the staff behind the counter stopped cleaning and prepping some other desserts to come see I had any questions or was ready to order. The menu is very large, so I sat down to read through all the options. All of the desserts sounded good, so tried a little bit of everything. The baklavas and small sweets are perfect for sampling as theyre a small serving. The young lady working the register did a great job of describing all the baklavas and sweets. I cant remember all the ones I ordered as I was picking them while looking in the display case. I do remember the cream puff baklava, sweet cheese, and coconut hareesa. All of them were good. The tastes were all varied from not so sweet (hareesa) to the very sweet (cream puff baklava), but all were full of flavor and very good. For the main dessert, ordered the Arabic ice cream. This was by far my favorite overall. The creamy ice cream was offset by the large amount of pistachios wrapped around several times. The ice cream was very smooth, silky, and not overly sweet. The pistachios were plentiful and nicely wrapped a few times around the ice cream. There was a nice patio on the side with umbrellas to give you shade while enjoying your desserts.Outstanding customer service and delicious desserts. Will definitely return when visiting Frisco.
I stumbled upon this place was I was heading to Patel Brothers for grocery but I was thrilled and delighted to be there. They has such an amazing set of sweets/desserts all capturing flavours of middle-east and very well prepared. I just lived tasting each and every sweet. I liked star bakalva and trust me it tasted better than the bakalva I once tried in Riyadh. They have some really good seating as well so you could relish the sweets there and spend some quality time with your family.Worth going to this place for those who have a sweeth tooth
BigDash is an amazing desert destination. From the assorted baklava and Arabic or Turkish treats, to the Arabic ice cream, their food stuffs are definitely not good for my waistline. The staff here are the real gem though. Every person we’ve ever met here has been so helpful and patient. Everyone has created a sense of immediacy and has tried to establish a real connection to their customers. This is the real reason I’ll continue to come here!
I put only two stars for only one important reason; when we placed orders for Madlouka tray by phone, their call receivers gave us much lower prices repeatedly ( three times), but when we came to pick it up, they asked for a much higher prices claiming that the given low prices were for kunafa and not Madlouka!!!Otherwise, the pastries are very tasty and the store is clean and neat; it deserves 5 stars had they not repeatedly made these misleading information on phone
You get wide variety of tasty middle eastern deserts. The only problem is the slowness of their service. Why don’t you guys hire people, it’s freaking slow at service.
A unique place - must try. Keep trying new things and youll quickly find your new favorites. The coffee is my personal favorite - strong with cardamom. If youre a pistachio fan (who isnt!) - there is a ton of freshly made delicacies to delight you. The staff is very helpful - definitely ask them for help. The lady at the counter gave us a free sample so extra bump 👍⬆️
Oh, man! Where do we begin? 🥰 Service was amazing and their desserts and coffee are truly one of a kind. They have curbside options available, but it is a really sweet journey to experience it all inside. It was our first time trying the Kinafa and Arabic ice cream and it was pure bliss. 😍 We felt like we were on a mini-vacation! You can’t go wrong with anything you try here because it is all delicious. 😋 We’re already looking forward to coming back!
I’m so glad that they finally opened a location in Frisco! The owner and the workers are very friendly and attentive. There’s always a person going around, picking up trash and cleaning tables. I’ve had Arabic ice cream in Damascus and the one they serve here tastes the same. They also offer a wide range of delicious desserts. The atmosphere is also great with the authentic decorations which reminds me of home. I saw a lot of Syrians there as well which says something about how authentic this place is. So if you’re looking for a little taste of home or even if you’ve never had Arabic desserts or ice cream, you definitely need to give this place a visit! You won’t be disappointed!
This place is amazing! The staff are so nice! The pastries are delicious and the ice cream is so weird but good! We will definitely be back, a lot.
Yummy kanafe! Never had them before. Gotod from from middle east rave about it and got to try it here. Delicious, will go back for this again. They also have ice cream and other desserts, including coffee and Turkish coffee. Nice big outside seating and covered patio setting too.
The facility is very nice and the environment as well how ever the employees were not the best not like Richardson franchise.I took two stars off because I asked for a high chair and this is how they brought it to me! Even though the guy brought it and saw how dirty still managed to drop it and give it to 1 year old to sit on it!!! Disgusting
My first time here and it was absolutely amazing. You must try the crepes. The man who works there is so nice and gave me all the samples I asked for! Wonderful place will definitely come back
Amazing and appetizing desserts. Best place for Arabian ice creams, baklavas.Love their different type of baklavas. Each and every one of them were scrumptious. Great customer service and they ensure to check you out as soon as they could.Only downside is that they are bit cramped and wouldn’t recommend dining in there due to these unprecedented times due to insufficient room. I would opt for a to-go.
Horrible customer service.Too many cooks spoil the broth ! There are way too many people behind the counter messing up all kinds of orders causing unnecessarily long delays. Nobody knows anything. Everyone is all over the place.Used to enjoy their turkish coffee until they went from 8oz to 4oz. Never seen such a downgrade. So be ready to wait 25-30 mins to get two gulps of your coffee. Not returning. Also forgot to add while waiting for the order their servers dashed the utensils trolley in my foot and instead of apologizing just smiled and went on.
I am not from here, my husbands best friend took us there. It was the best dessert I have ever had! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely be back when I come into town again.
I’ve been here twice and I still want to come back again and again to try as many pastries as I can. Everything I’ve tried was delicious, but my favorite so far is the citrus crunch kunafa with ice cream on top! If someone in your group doesn’t like floral flavors, their crepes and tiramisu cups are good too. The people working there are also really nice as well!
OMG! This place is absolutely fantastic in a most superb way! They have Cashew Baklava! Yes. I said Cashew! I bought a whole pound of it 2 days ago, and its already gone. Im sending my nephew in just a bit to get me some more. Also, the ice cream is amazing! And I believe they make it there. Next on the list is gonna be the Nutella crepe. This may turn into a dangerous situation for my waistline.
While it stay busy, Bigdash is a well kept secret. They have some of the best ice cream in the DFW.When I don’t want ice cream, they also have a nice assortment of sorbets. Careful, fast eating will give you one hell of a brain freeze. The Turkish coffee is also one of the benefits to visiting. We make Turkish coffee at home, but the brand used here is fantastic.Always a favorite place to frequent.
I love the mediterranean food in Frisco. Bigdash is one of the best. Künefe was better than you could get in Turkey.
Simple wonderful, except the white young guy, he treats ppl rude and never smile. It happens with me 4 times but the rest of workers are great and very delicious sweet
Awesome Turkish desserts...one of a kind....really clean and great service....you will hear lots of people talking in Arabic when you visit.
They have the worst customer service you could ever ask for! I made a trip all the way from Fortworth and placed an order for knafeh about 45 minutes ahead of that and when I got there, they didn’t have my order and the lady who was her name Oasis (or something like that) super rude and she was telling me that it’s my fault even though I showed her my phone log that shows my conversation with them ! WOW ! Never back again ! Not recommended
Oh man! This place is amaaazzzzing. They have the most delicious ice creams. People are so nice and friendly. Most authentic middle eastern desserts. Their Arabic ice cream topped with big pistachios us my favorite, cant get more luxurious than that (well may be if you add a gold leaf on top). Lime Mint sorbet was the my favorite sorbet. Bugglegum tastes really like bubblegum. I also did a to-go order of assorted baklava which were also good. Next I want to try the Kinafa which everyone is raving about along with Turkish coffee.Update: I tried the Kinafa with some ice cream and Turkish Coffee. Kinafa is like baked sweet cheesy pancake. Turkish coffee is a spiced version of coffee woth cardamom. Delicious.
Ice cream is best Ive ever had. Not too sweet. Pastries are delicious! Very nice and clean!
A fun, delicious post dinner dessert and coffee place. Great ambience and outdoor sitting as well
The baklava here is awesome. Everyone in the family loved it. We also tried triple chocolate crepe, it was loaded with chocolate and was very filling. Must visit desert place if you are around the Preston road area!
This was taken at 8pm they were packed, but I wonder why only two kanafeh at peak time? I did read into past reviews and I am not the only one, as I have tried kanafeh three times and it was the worst every time. They should probably be less rude when customers provide feedback, I know you are packed but maybe it’s because your the only shop around. The baklava is overall good but if you go on a slow day it might not be as fresh as they advertise. If I were you I would stay away from the boxed products. I have had 10 plus visits here as it is the nearest place for baklava and honestly it is usually decent. After being here as many times as I have they definitely deserved an honest review room for improvement in customer service, quality, and price.
Overcrowded, long wait, limited seating so decided to get take out. They put cakes sideways into very thin containers and by the time we got home, the icing had slid into the little container like soup. If they improve a few things, it would be a much better experience. Also to fellow customers, please don’t move tables and chairs around at will and sit for hours after ordering. Have some courtesy for others!
Kanafeh was not what I was expecting. Definitely not worth the price. It was Underwhelming. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever had but definitely far from the best. 5/10
This was one of the most welcoming restaurants ive ever been to. The owner was there and was such a kind soul. The ice cream was the best ive has.
Between the flavors, ambiance and owners hospitality I see this becoming a regular bad habit according to my diabetic-ally inclined family tree.. but damn it’s good 🤤
The facility itself looked very appealing and everything looked neat, clean, and organized. While trying to get some ice cream I was ignored by 4 different employees multiple times which was a tad annoying. The sweets are also priced quite high compared to other Mediterranean sweet/baklava places I’ve been but they do taste better. Wouldn’t say the exorbitant price is worth the slight bump in quality though.
This is an awesome place. I try to go every Sunday after church and always order the lime mint ice-cream. Fell in love with the Turkish coffee.
Food is awesome! But definitely not worth waiting 30 mins just to order. Would love to try the food but not sure if everyone has over 90 mins of their day for a quick dessert
Inside was very hot I didn’t feel any Air-conditioning. Otherwise the stuff are good taste!
This place makes icecream that will blow your mind this is icecream revolution i never leave a review because im lazy but this place is so good i just had too.
Excellent Middle Eastern desserts. I call what I had the Wookie Patty because I cant remember the real name. Great Ice cream too, dont think its dairy, has a light and pleasant flavor.
Bigdash is a very good place, its clean, good service, and the most important part is that they have authentic food. I really like their pastries.
Good place to have coffee & eastern sweets, good service and welcoming staff
Cannot say enough about big dash. Such delicious and interesting ice cream, pastries, and desserts. Every employee I have ever encountered here has been very willing to answer a bunch of questions from me, let me try things, and helped me choose a treat I would like. Ive introduced at least 5 people to big dash and every single one of us would highly recommend that you go try it out! Dont miss the various kinds of baklava or the Arabic ice cream!
Normally visit this place whenever shopping at patel brothers. Liked the chocolate cakes here...Yet to try other items
As a small business we like to support other small businesses. I truly thank the lovely people at Big Dash for allowing us to use their wonderful patio for a small socially distant outdoor baby shower we had and they provided wonderful desserts and teas for our small group. Very kind and helpful in these hard times. We really appreciate the staff and manager for their help today. I will be returning often as they are very nice and the desserts are excellent.
We just had baklava here so review will be based on that. We got the pistachio baklava, fingers, and othmalia. Overall it was good but had an artificial syrup taste. It didnt taste as natural as other desserts that Ive had. May try some other desserts but will come back for the kunafa. Overall the shop is spacious, has gift options, and pretty clean.
As usual very delicious dishes, this time i tried kinder crepe and was very good, only suggestion for them to enhance and more organize the order place and wait line.
This place is amazing! Definitely one of the best spots for some Middle Eastern desserts. Their Arabic ice cream is the best I’ve had here in the North Dallas area. All their desserts are fresh and delicious. The owner and the employees are very kind and are happy to answer any questions you have.
Our new favorite ice cream place! Super cool owner! OMG- try the mint lemon ice cream ~ SOOOOOO GOOD. We went twice in 1 week!
Fun vibe, great customer service. Stop by if you want to have a taste of some interesting desserts.
Their triple chocolate crepe is to die for! I came all the way from Arlington and was not disappointed. Afterwards I was getting some snacks to go and when I wanted to try the custard he let me have one whole one on the house to share with my table. Amazing people. Will definitely make the drive again
Try the arabian coffee ☕ ! Amazing phenomenal, 5 stars 🌟, 💘 visiting dallas? dont miss this experience
Bigdash is a neat little store that serves up middle eastern (Syrian specifically) treats and coffee. Most people are familiar with their signature ice cream, Booza, via the Internet. In Turkey they have a similar ice cream, which is stretchy and they always play tricks with it to the customer. The ice cream comes in a multitude of flavors, and has a texture similar to semi melted mozzarella cheese. It is served at nearly room temperature and is fairly unique. That being said, once you get past the novelty and newness of it, e ice cream itself is is extremely subtle and bland tasting by western taste. I’m not sure what all toppings they have besides pistachio, but your better Off if you want sweet western type of ice cream taking the ice cream to go and adding some honey or bits of fruit or something to give it more oomph. Some people, like my wife (who happens to be Arab) might like the mild taste. I don’t mind it, but people who are expecting super sweet cold ice cream might be kind of surprised. That being said, all of their other deserts and divine, and their coffee is good. They have a huge selection of other treats that are all extremely good. That and the coffee alone is worth the 4 stars. Try a sample of ice cream just to get it out of the way, then order $100 worth of baklava and kanafeh
Best dessert ever, Worth trying and having a good time
Man... what an experience tonight. My wife and I stepped in. It was my birthday and I was wanting a dessert. Honestly, I didn’t even realize it was Middle Eastern as I just didn’t pay enough attention to where we were. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a wealth of knowledge as we asked question. I’m in sugar overload but we got to try so many different little desserts and the guy there tonight (11/11) was just on point. I’m not sure that I’ve had an experience like that in any service industry in some time and had to make sure I came on.Do yourself a favor, stop in here and try something new. You will NOT be disappointed. They have your traditional American baked goods and ice cream if you aren’t adventurous. And man, that stuff is good too. Give this guy your business!Unsolicited but warranted feedback that I felt compelled to write. Good job Bigdash!!!
Absolutely delicious!!! Everything we tried, was just exceptional! We highly recommend everything on the menu! By far, the best customer service we have experienced! It was our first-time here and they gave us samples to taste, and treated us like family.
Love the baklava and other sweets from here. I havent been here yet but my friend had some desserts sent to me and I loved them. Hoping to dine-in once everything settles. Def recommend.
Huge Lack of manpower you could wait 30 minutes at the cashier to get served
Best place for deserts, no question about, but I wasted 45 minutes of my time because they were understaffed and unorganized. Timeline of events- placed order online at 8:50pm for kanafeh and it said order will be ready between 9:20 and 9:25pm- i get there at 9:20 and orders not ready- i order baklava and strawberry smoothie- check in every 10 minutes and nothing- finally at 9:50 i just get very angry and get my kanafeh finally and the strawberry smoothie wasnt even in the system even though i paid for it- 9:55 - took the manager 3 minutes to open register to give me cash back for the smoothie.....for a place as busy and popular as this, with a good product, during ramadhan...owners should be aware of employment needs and be smarter than this.
Friends gave a lot if hype but was terribly disappointed by the taste and price of items. Tried the Kinafa and it turned out to be just mediocre. Small portions of sweets are very expensive. Otherwise place is hygenic and staff is friendly
Wow ice cream, Kunafa is amazing.
