Scuba Frisco and our instructor, Vinny, were incredible on getting our 13 year old son confined water dives in less than 4 hours. Due to their main pool not being open yet, owner Thorsten had us at his home to use their pool, which worked great, and his wonderful wife was the best hostess ever! Thanks so much!

Did the Reactivate course for an upcoming trip and got to have Frank as my instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful! Got to meet the shop owners, since I did the course at their personal pool, and they were the sweetest folks! Would highly recommend!

I have been buying gear through another dive store but they didnt have much inventory so I recently tried Scuba Frisco. What a difference! Lots of choices on gear in stock and very knowledgeable staff to help you at Scuba Frisco.

My two teenagers were both recently certified through Scuba Frisco. They worked hard to accommodate our tight schedule for certification as we were headed to Florida in the following few weeks and wanted to do some diving with the kids. Maira Thomas, their pool instructor was AWESOME. She was extremely thorough and very friendly. Both kids really enjoyed working with her and I felt like they received excellent instruction regarding safety. They completed the lake portion of their certification with Dustin Palmer, who was wonderful as well. He gave them a lot of positive feedback and made them feel at ease in the water. We could not have had a better experience!

Being From San Antonio, TX, I was unfamiliar with all of the Dive Shops in the area and my daughter was looking to purchase a new regulator and dive computer setup to replace the old system she had been diving with since they were no longer serviceable (yes they were ancient but great regs). As non-teaching PADI MSDT I knew the best bet would be to search for PADI 5 Star facilities and we decided to give Scuba Frisco a visit. We were immediately greeted by Treta Sellers and owner Thorsten Prutz with warm smiles (although hidden by masks they were glad to see us). Treta started showing my daughter the different options of regulators and explained the benefits of each and the cost. She spoke directly to my daughter and did not try to explain things to me which is a big no no if you know my daughter. She wants people to speak directly to her and she will ask me for input only if she wants it. During the time in the shop my son bought a new dive mask and my daughter purchased her first regulator, octo, computer console. And ole Dad ended up purchasing a new travel BC. They had better pricing on their gear than the shops here in San Antonio and earned my business. So Take if from a 30 year PADI Member if you are in/around the DFW area and are looking for a top notch Dive Shop take the time and drive over to SCUBA Frisco.

This is an interesting little shop. It’s clean, organized and the retail folks are qualified to help you with virtually any product they carry. What I like most is, although they don’t have much inventory, what they have is fantastic. It seems like they only carry items hat are proven winners and items that fit and last. So if they have something, it’s the right thing and you will love it! Only gave 4 stars because I can’t speak to their dive training and for some people that is a very important aspect of deciding which shop to work with. The location is really central to North Dallas and they always pick up the phone when you call. That’s more than I can say for a few of the dive shops around here.

Maira Thomas is an awesome scuba instructor! I felt fully prepared for my open water dives after my closed water dive with her. She is excellent! Treta Sellers is also wonderful and so encouraging! The staff is amazing!

I have nothing but good things to say about the wonderful, attentive, experts at SCUBA Frisco. They went out of their way to make learning and understanding SCUBA easy for me, my 15-year-old son, and 11-year-old daughter. Quickly preparing us with training & fitted gear for a cruise to the Caribbean, where we had several safe and fantastic dives as a family.

I did my confined water portion of my scuba diving certification with Scuba Frisco. I really appreciated Trita working hard to accommodate my schedule. Due to Covid I had to do the first part of the training in the owner’s personal pool. I was welcomed like family by his friendly wife. My instructor, VINNY, was amazing and had a great sense of humor.Thanks Scuba Frisco team! Can’t wait to finish up at the lake.

Scuba Frisco - if youre looking for a dive shop that gets to know their customers and goes above and beyond, then look on further! Great service and they always make me feel welcome when I walk through their doors! They have a wide variety of scuba diving gear to choose from and are very helpful when I am deciding which item is best for me and my family. From large purchase to service and all things in between, Thorston and his crew do a great job!

This is by far my favorite Dive Shop in the Metroplex. They have great selection of everything that you may need and even if they don’t have something they can order it right away. And the owner is the best, most polite, knowledgeable and patient man ever. It took me hours to make a decision on the best dive computers for me and for my son and he was so nice to talk to me for hours. We looked at different models, he went outside with me to show me how the different screens look in bright sunlight and I just have no words to give him enough credit. In the past I have serviced my previous dive computer and my regulator with him and he does such a good job with German precision (and he is German).Scuba Frisco is the place to go.

Great local dive shop. Thorsten is a very experienced diver with excellent product knowledge. I had not been diving in a while and Thorsten patiently got me back up to speed on the latest in regulator and dive computer technology. He put my new dive computer in his pressure tank so I could see how it performed on a 100’ dive. Very cool.

Went on a dive trip organized by Maira. Had a fantastic time. The staff is great. There are only two shops in the DFW area that I do business with and this is one of them. I can recommend this shop without hesitation.

Editing my initial review to include my experience with both the enclosed pool dives and the open water certification.When we initially inquired about our certification at this location, we were offered a private lesson. We decided to spend the extra money and have the pool dive as a private.We were assigned (my spouse also received certification) to Maira.From the very beginning of the lesson Maira explained and outlined the course expectations for the entire day allowed for questions, and continued to break the day into workable plans. Prior to each chapter/ plan ; Maira would then re explain the concepts relative to that specific task at hand. This was imperative as I am not someone who was enthusiastic about being UNDER THE WATER (I’ve never wanted to be certified I love being on top of water; not under it) so her explanation of the day plus repeating the explanations was fantastic!Once in the water ; it was surprisingly easy to communicate with Maira as she was so careful in her explanations and hand signals prior to entering the water. I was even laughing underwater having been put to ease by such a kind and patient instructor!We ended up also completing our open water certification via private lesson w Maira.I was extremely nervous as the visibility at the lake is most definitely not a pool nor an ocean.I was terrified but made it through the first dive.Again Maira was careful to explain the process on land and what the underwater scenarios would be like.After the first dive and subsequent dives my anxiety was less than the previous dive. This truly is due to the trust I built with Maira and she is so graceful in the water that it is easy to want to be in her presence. I constantly looked to her and signaled “ok” even when I didn’t need to. Just to let her know I appreciated her help!!!Our last dive of the day was the peak performance buoyancy dive.Taking from what we learned in the enclosed pool dive about visualization and breathing and proper weighting; we were able to build on these concepts and this was my favorite of the dives. Playing in the rings and doing the games I wished it was something we could do again but in better water!I would give Scuba Frisco Maira an ELEVEN.She is more that what you can ask for in an instructor and goes above and beyond to make her students feel at ease.She has an impressive resume of dives too!!!If you do decide on certification I HIGHLY recommend splurging on private lessons and asking for Maira. You will not be disappointed.Thorston and Treta are very helpful and assisted my spouse and I with the process for the e learning for the open water certification. Both very patient as we had tons of questions pertaining to gear. We ended up purchasing gear and were fitted appropriately for Fins/BCDS/Regulators/Computers/SPGs. Looking forward to our new found relationships with the both of them!!! A++ service!

I am happy to say that I received excellent care and instructions from Scuba Frisco Sports. From the minute I stepped in the shop, Jeff was there to answer all my questions. As one person said before on another review, check your feelings at the door. Jeff will give it to you straight. I like that about him. There are no grey areas. He is direct, to the point and thorough. Above that, he takes the time that you need to understand the basics and fundamentals. I trained in the pool with Erich. He was top notch and very entertaining. If you have a chance to train with him, DO IT! He, as well, was very thorough and takes the time needed with each student to make sure that each student knows what they are doing. He was such a good instructor that all 7 students in the class I was in got everything right on the first try. I was unable to train at the lake with Erich and I was nervous about that. I felt a sense of comfort with Erich, that I was weary about training with someone else. Boy did I get lucky! I trained in the lake with Bruce. He takes scuba training very seriously and much like Jeff and Erich, was very thorough and taught with real life scenarios. I was in a very small lake class and it made it feel like a one on one lesson. Bruce made you feel very comfortable in the water (it was FREEZING - I went in early May, Dallas had just set a record for the lowest night in May ever the night before). His instructions in and out of the water were very clear and concise and made training almost effortless! I can not say enough good things about Scuba Frisco Sports. If you want to learn the practice of scuba diving, this is the place to do it at!

Everyone at Scuba Frisco was very helpful. Both my EFR course with Gloria and my Rescue Diver course with Bill were awesome. Both instructors were patient, knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable learning experience! Every diver should take the Rescue Diver course. Its so valuable and actually really fun! Also, thanks to Jeff and Thorsten for helping me with my gear. Theyre both extremely knowledgeable, plus Jeff answered my 20,000 questions via e-mail. :) Legend. Scuba Frisco has an impressive selection of quality gear and a very knowledgable owner to help explain the options. The equipment I selected with Thorstens help has worked very well. I decided to take the basic open water course with Dale as my instructor, and could not have been more pleased with how patient and thorough his instruction was. This is a first class operation.

Pass on these clowns.They are just middle-men subcontracting their training to others.Last-minute schedule changes, upselling, extra fees.Save yourself a nightmare and go direct to an organization that does the work you are paying for.I came in town twice to take a simple class and found they changed the date time. No call, nothing, just a bored vaguely insulting pc “sorry about that.”Twice.Garbage humans.

Just back from an amazing dive trip to Key Largo with the Scuba Frisco group. Erich did an amazing job organizing this trip with plenty of lovely dives and onshore activities. All I had to do was show up and have fun; all of the details were taken care of. I was so excited to see sharks, spotted eagle rays, sea turtles, octopus, squid, and loads and loads of colorful tropical fish. Land activities included an airboat tour through the Everglades, a visit to the History of Diving Museum, kayaking through the mangroves, a trip to the Sea Turtle Hospital, a visit to the Islamorada Brewery, and much more! This trip was further enhance by a delightful group of travelers who bonded quickly and laughed heartily! This was a five-star trip! Thank you Scuba Frisco! And a special thank you to Erich for leading our salty crew on the land and in the sea.
