Place was unkempt. Crumbs and sticky in seating areas. Service was quick. Not overly nice or anything out of the ordinary. We got two stackers:“It’s your birthday”—the vanilla was bland and the cake was v stale“Milk and Cookies”— SO GOOD! If I had to go back would get this one. But would not crave going back. Can definitely get better ice cream else where.
Not bad. It’s not churned with love in a bucket ice cream. It’s soft serve. Still ice cream according to the associate but soft serve nonetheless. There’s a lot of clever creations or you can create your own. But at the end of the day, it’s still just soft serve and toppings. Chocolate, vanilla, twist, or the specialty flavor are your options. The place is clean and well maintained. COVID safety means no dine in end social distancing encouraged.Would come back if nearby, but wouldn’t make a special trip.
Ugh... the ice cream was tasteless and atmosphere filled with teenagers... Should have stayed at DEE Lincoln for dessert or driven to Andys... What a waste of calories, a complete novelty that is all!
Meh. Service was meh. Ice cream was meh. The store itself was meh.The only thing great here was the shared restroom with the restaurant next door. That room was AWESOME.
Good stuff but overpriced. Worth trying it at least once if youre in the area and feeling some dessert. Id say go with the small size if youre not sure as its quite filling. At places like these when its your first time, advisable to try one of their preset items rather than make-your-own. Enjoy it outside on one of the many public benches.
Clean, simple, quick. Your custom soft serve ice cream or shake can be eaten in store or taken to-go. Good restrooms. Front of store is a tad small and can start feeling crowded after a dozen people. Be prepared to walk from the parking garage across the street. I like the unique flavor combinations that I have only found in this ice cream shop so far.
Unique stackers. Good service. No mask enforcement though. Gets packed weekend eve
Highly disappointed. Went in for the special of the week (banana pudding). First they were out of the banana soft serve...fine. Then they were out of bananas,again.... fine 🙄. Finally he tells me they are also out of the vanilla wafers. Why tell me its available, have me pay for it then tell me Ill need to substitute almost all of it?! SMH
Wish I could rate them higher. They have a good location and good concept. I think they fail mostly in the size of their store, layout, and throughput. I came with 5 people including 2 toddlers and there was no where for us to sit. Napkins and trashcan were inconveniently next to the people in line. Presentation of ice cream looks very good. The taste was average, nothing great. Prices were very high. Would have paid half at Braum’s for ice cream.
This place is perfect if you want some soft serve icecream like you get at McDonalds, but want to pay 4x the amount. There are countless better options around Frisco I would go to before this place again. We were visiting the Star with friends though friends and decided to walk across the street.Pretty disappointed as I was expecting much better given the reviews. However, just like everything in America right now having substance is second to whether something is Instagram worthy.Getting really tired of all these trendy restaurants that take average ingredients at best and sell the “sizzle” on social media.
Just tried this ice cream and it was trouble. I mean the my ice cream had no favor what so ever. My wife had the birthday cake and she said it tastes like dog. My daughter was also trouble. We all threw it in the trash. Sorry we definitely wont be back
Intimate little ice cream place in Frisco Star area. They have a variety of frozen treat offerings. You can choose from the pre-existing combinations of mix ins with clever names, or build your own. The last time I went, I ordered a chocolate ice cream in a cup with brownie chunks. The brownies were yummy, but the ice cream was so, so. I prefer Andys chocolate frozen custard over this chocolate ice cream, which is not quite as chocolatey or creamy as Id like.Another issue for me is its very small and voices echo a lot so you really cant enjoy staying inside and having a conversation. This may not be a problem for some, so its subjective. Overall, I may return if Im in the area, but I will not go out of my way to come here.
The Cow Tipping Creamery is probably the best soft serve ice cream destination in the DFW area. The time and creativity that goes into these delightful treats is unbelievable. They should win on Oscar for their performance in their ice cream making. Even their small sizes are pretty hefty so come hungry. It’s a small place so seating is limited but plenty of seating outside near by. Their prices are fair I would say considering what you’re receiving in the end. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.
I just went there and it was very disappointing. I chose to go there because of the awesome pictures online... biggest waste of money. Over $7 for a medium, I chose its your bday. It had 0 flavor, even sonics ice cream was better, just a sweet flavor not savory. It took forever too but I could deal with that. Also it wasnt at all car friendly, in the sense that it melted quickly and you cannot just lick it because all the topping would fall off. Seriously drove less than 5 minutes. Biggest waste and had to throw it out
Update: i dont know if the person that made our ice cream was new or what but they only filled the cup til the ridge, and usually they do a really good job making it tall and decorating it and make it look amazing. Have been here multiple times and loved it, but most recent visit...not so much..----------------------------Tried it for the first time today, and loooooooooved it.😍😍 Got their its your birthday combination, and taste buds were pleased the entire time.Little pricey, but worth it.Its located right in front of the star in Frisco and have to look for it since there is so much construction around atm.Bye bye braums 👋
Too little variety… overpriced
Really nice presentation and creative names and toppings with a fun shop name, but for me theres no getting around the heart of the treat being pretty basic chocolate or vanilla soft serve. Also there isnt a lot of space in the store so things can get a little crazy if its busy.I had the Southern Charm and it is a great pick for pecan lovers. The blue sprinkles are ESSENTIAL!
I have been here several times and ordered a variety of large stackers, including some of the promotional ones. I always receive good customer service, and the product is usually prepared excellently. I have rarely had the same person make one of my stackers on different visits but usually get the same top quality in terms of presentation, quantity, and taste. i do not have a preference. Many possible combinations of ingredients exist, so this place doesnt get tiring.
I really hate to give low star reviews, but here we go. When it opened, Cow Tipping was good. The shakes and ice creams were good, service wasn’t bad, and the crowd was definitely there as it was a new ice cream place. That did not last long. Over the last year, the service deteriorated so much, one occurrence a while back made me angry due to two rude ladies at the counter whispering and laughing at waiting customers. They were also incredibly rude during ordering. The ice cream has gotten worse too, for the price you pay you get a cup with ingredients and ice cream flowing over and onto your hand. Everything tastes not fresh and the ice cream continues to decline in taste quality. Last times experience is why I chose to come rant. After quite a few months, I went back to Cow Tipping and decided to get a shake. One lady was working the counter, which was unusual since there was a considerable number of customers. That shake was the absolute worst thing I’ve had, almost like frozen ice cream blended in a cheap blender. It could literally be described as slop in a cup. No whip cream was even offered to me! The last time I had a shake here, maybe 7-8 months ago, it tasted quite good. I can’t believe this is what this place has come to with quality. Please fix your place up, I see an awful lot of complaints about service and pricing, which says something. Oh and quality.
Theyre banana Foster ice cream is awesome!
Did not meet my expectations. One and done.
Not good at all cold stone is 10 times better... Customer services was great give the two ladys a 10.
The ice cream is delicious and the staff is energetic and nice! It is at The Star, so expect a line. The line moves pretty quick though. Also, at The Star, you typically park in a structure or lot that is not in front of the store. It is not too far. But just know that unless you drop off your friend/family then park, this is not an in & out, just grab some ice cream real quick thing (unless you can score a spot on the street. Lucky!!!). But it is perfect when you are out there hanging out! We will definitely be back.
Enforces an illegal policy that is discriminatory. we spent our money across the street instead - they were happy to serve us. won’t be back.edit: “state of TX mask rules” do not supersede actual laws, and you choose not to accommodate people who medically cannot wear masks. (and it’s worth noting your business was empty, except for us...and of course ppl remove them to eat ice cream lol...but stay safe! lol.) that’s your choice as a biz, but it is definitely discrimination. I will share your stance and response with friends and go to businesses that don’t take it upon themselves to police people (and like to make money.) best of luck surviving the next lockdown.
Very good soft ice cream
Located in a prime place with various options of ice creams/pastries.. The death by chocolate and chocolate brownie were the highlight.
Worst service i’ve ever experienced. The employee locked the doors on us 15 minutes before close as we were waiting in a long line outside with no explanation or anything to say. She even laughed at us while inside when we were still waiting. When we came inside from a customer letting us in and asked if they had just closed the employee said yes, and when we asked her why we were given no explanation she said “i didn’t see you.” There was a 6-8 person line outside. how do you not see that. She then laughed and clapped at us saying “it’s just ice cream it’s not that serious lmao.” Imagine being that unprofessional. even said she was the manager and refused to let us speak to the actual manager. Never coming back.
Great little ice cream shop. Service was great. The inside was bare bones though. For a fifth star I would like to see a comfortable sitting area inside and a small outside sitting area.
The ice cream was good and toppings were okay. Some of them tasted a little off, perhaps just a bad night. The lines get long but they move quickly. The service is super friendly. I expected more from the atmosphere/interior/experience with its location. If we lived in Frisco we would probably visit again but I highly doubt we’d make the trip back from Dallas.
The staff was friendly. I ordered two mediums and the sweet girl tried to warn me how big it would be but I brushed it off. Portion sizes are HUGE!! A small would definitely be plenty. Their creations are pretty cool looking and tasty too. So much sugar!
Ice cream at dinner... bring a big appetite! These versions are incredible. The ice cream is great, but the art that goes into every dessert is pretty impressive. The brownie cookie dough is huge and best served in a large waffle cone... the small one just wont handle it.
Just got icecream here and the service sucked. The ice cream was good but don’t think i would go back to this location
I would give this place less than a 1 star review if I could. I have been here 4 or 5 times and every single time has been a disappointment. The service is terrible and the employees/managers have been rude. I went back even after my bad experiences thinking that maybe the staff would have changed or someone else would have been working. Giving them the benefit of the doubt. Tonight the employee taking our order was being extremely disrespectful to my family and I. The manager was standing right next to her rolling her eyes at us doing absolutely nothing. Even my 8 year old child said the girl working was mean. While we sat there and waited for ice cream we noticed as more people walked in the quality of the ice cream sundaes went down drastically! Also, it’s extremely overpriced for what it is. I basically paid $5 for a SMALL cup of ice cream that was literally falling out of the cup when it was handed to us. It made a complete mess when it melted. You’re better off buying a tub of ice cream from the grocery store or getting a sundae from a fast food chain instead. The teen employees (that were just in a hurry to close) probably don’t feel the need to be respectful to their customers if their own manager isn’t even respectful to them. They need a better ice cream place in the area because this one is ruining the reputation of The Star. I am 100% sure I will not be returning here again!
Line was short, staff was friendly, ice cream was delicious, prices werent bad.
Finally found a place that serves soft serve chocolate ice cream on a come, so good. Also had the lemon drop. Definitely will be going back.
Whenever we are near Frisco we try and stop by. Lemon Drop is our favorite. 😋 The sour of the lemon really counters all of the sweet that goes on it. It tastes like a “key lemon 🍋” pie! Very light and refreshing flavor after a big meal.
I have never left disappointed. The service is fantastic and really, how can you be upset with great ice cream? After a rough week and long day, I came in looking for a bit of a celebratory snack and they created me a massive stacker I will not soon forget. Theres no doubt I will continue to come here for overall fantastic experience.
Great Ice Cream
The service was not bad and the ice cream was ok. However we had to wait almost an hour. There were only two people working on a Saturday so the service was very slow. I felt sorry for the servers but they were trying. Some people actually started asking for their money back because the wait was too long. Bottom line the owner should stop being cheap and hire more people. Its ridiculous and unfair on the workers.
The ice cream selection was vast. The staff were nice and welcoming. Place was decent. I would definitely go back to have another cup of ice cream.
It was okay soft serve. Presentation is great but I wasn’t overly impressed. I got the “Reese’s with a spoon.” I was disappointed because I love Reese’s and didn’t get that flavor. I also broke out in hives shortly after. Not sure what ingredient was the cause.
One of the best ice creams/soft serve in Dallas. Their creations are vey fulfilling and in a very nice and upcoming location.
Big portions and creative ice cream mixes. Definitely recommend getting a small for one person. Lemon drop is my favorite! Always busy so there is always a wait. The ice cream is tasty but I wish they would have more time to clean up in front of the counter. The waiting/eating counters get a little messy and they just cant keep up.
Great flavors of ice cream. Got the cream cheese and blueberry swirl. Very fresh tasting
Great place to get ice cream! The different combinations are so unique and the staff are so friendly. The area around is also super cool which just adds to it all.
Worst experience, went to Cow tipping 15 mins before closing and when I entered nobody greeted us . Then on top of that they were cleaning and putting everything up before it was time to close .You’re in night life area and cross from The Star like why would you put everything up before the doors are locked and closed, anybody can pop in before closing time .
Expect service to continue to decline. Lack of being on the leading edge when it comes to dealing with employees will lead to a decline. Servant leadership is on the leading edge but this business is behind the times.
Super creamy ice cream and creative flavor combinations. Friendly service and clean store.
Excellent location and desserts, great experience.
I wanted to like this place, but this ice cream I’m just not sure why it got such a great review. I’m not one to give bad reviews, but the flavor of this ice cream, it’s very watered down. Once you’ve had good ice cream from other places in the dfw area this ice cream just doesn’t even come close. The brownies and cookie dough just tasted like out of a package and not fresh made
Wish I could give this place more stars, but my experience has been somewhat mediocre and underwhelming. Cow Tipping Creamery falls short primarily on service and secondarily on flavor. It seems as though their employees would rather be somewhere else. When my boyfriend approached the counter, he (in his usual friendly manner) asked the cashier how her night was. Her reply would’ve made anyone feel that she was bothered by their presence. The place was considerably dirty (they were not even exceptionally busy during our visit... plenty of time to wipe counters and lift a broom), one of the employees was audibly talking about quitting before the rush of the upcoming holidays hit, and they seemed more concerned with what pizza they would be ordering from the neighboring restaurant, Cane Rosso, rather than helping customers. In case you were wondering, they ended up ordering the “Honey Bastard,” a secret menu pizza with an evidently hilarious name. I know this because they repeated it several times, daringly taunting each other to say it louder without a customer overhearing (fail). Unfortunately, the disappointment does not stop there. I have eaten ice cream from this location twice - once when it first opened, my boyfriend ran in to grab the Reese’s flavored stacker while I waited outside. Because of that, I can’t comment on the service at that time. It’s been awhile since then, but I do remember enjoying the stacker and it tasting really good! However, this particular visit was not so flavorful. I got the brownie/cookie dough stacker and added peanut butter sauce. The softserve is lackluster, and the brownie and cookie dough chunks were pretty underwhelming. They tasted overly salty... they’re fresh-baked, but they taste packaged. The hot fudge and peanut butter sauce were truly the only redeeming quality, quite frankly because you can’t really mess that up. I plan to give this place one more try and will edit my review accordingly if deemed necessary. I truly hope they improve!!
Soft serve. Two flavors. Little to no gluten free options. Not a creamery.
Busy and a bit slow because of it, but friendly service and good product.
This place is incredible!!! We came for the soft opening and were blown away! You must try the bubble waffle cone and the high tea ice cream YUM!!
Love cow tipping creamery. Their stackers are awesome. My favorite is at the ritz—the rummy caramel sauce is to die for!
Wonderful staff and their brown sugar hot fudge is a must try
Great concept, a little pricey. It does take awhile for order to get made. Great blends of ice cream and other stuff
I ordered the medium size banana split cup but I could not finished because it was huge. I suggest getting the small for one person and the medium if you want to share
Soft serve ice cream.
Great service and who doesnt LOVE ice cream!
We went for the end of our date nightI got the southern one and he got the Reese’s one.1. It’s 5.50 for a smal cup, but it’s super filled, or so I thought it’s hollow, so it’s like a basket the edges are filled but the center isn’t.2. Both were so overly sweet we took 2 bites and tossed it. It was so gross100% Instagram worthy looks but taste were So gross
Absolutely delicious and great staff! We had a good time.
Great concept; dont think this is a real ice cream, too much water in the base. Tasted much more like the free soft serve you get at Dickies BBQ or Jasons Deli. I think it taste more like ice milk.Much more prefer Andys frozen custard for creaminess.Love the crestive topping ideas and the waffle cone is the best Ive experienced.
The icecream is too sweet and they ran out of products
Sugar high. Birthday cake ice cream.
