I had originally called Ryan about repairing an amp. While on the phone he indicated he works on guitars. I was so impressed with his professionalism I took my Rickenbacker to him a week later for maintenance and setup and was delighted with the results. He recommended lighter gauge strings due to a small crack in the neck, and was able to adjust the neck. Ryan also finished ahead of schedule and was very professional. I would highly recommend OC Guitar Amp Repair to other musicians.
Ryan serviced my Marshall Master Reverb 30, replacing necessary components and so thoroughly cleaning it, it is absolutely silent when adjusting the knobs. I plan to bring 2 more amps for service, because he is priced reasonably and he produces really quality work. Thanks Ryan- Uri
Ryan the owner and operator of this business was fantastic to work with. He repaired my 42 year old Fender amplifier. He did a fantastic job of making it function like new again. I highly recommend this business.
Ryan is a honest and professional individual of the highest levels. I came in expecting my Diezel Herbert to have circuit board issues, as I have been experiencing poor distortion quality. Upon a short inspection, he was able to deduce the culprit to be my preamp tubes! It was a big help and kept me from a huge fix that would have been costly and wouldnt necessarily solve the issue. Thanks Ryan!
Great job, only charged for what my guitar needed done on the setup.Highly recommended.
I took my amp, to OC Guitar Amp Repair, to make sure it would work correctly. After years of gigging, and at times being in storage, the amp needed to be freshened up, and just gone through, to make sure everything was in working order. The service took a week, which he (Ryan the Shop Owner and Repair tech) did express it may take up to two weeks. When I got the amp home the bass adjusted knob did not work. I called Ryan, he told me that the sound would be minimal. I attempted to adjust the bass controls, and no sound difference happened. When I called him back, he stated I never mentioned that too him... I think I did not get the service I requested. He told me I would have to pay for him to look at the amp again... In my opinion this is horrible service... I took the amp in to make sure it worked properly, never tried to haggle, or disputed the price... I think better customer service would help this amp repair shop get more business... At this point I DO NOT recommend this repair shop at all. Although my amp was worked on, it was not to my expectations, and I did not get the service I paid for...Update 9/22/2020After speaking with Ryan (the shop owner and tech) we agreed on the amp being worked on again by him. The amp took about a month to receive, in full working order. I think if you are planing on having Ryan work on your equipment, a full written agreement needs to happen... A thoroughly written agreement!!!!! I believe Ryan is knowledgeable, and does understand the way amps work. Customer service is the only issue that I feel needs to be addressed. I am appreciative that my amp is fully repaired now...I wish this shop the best of luck, unfortunately my review stands, on just poor communication, and poor customer service.
Took my dot studio to Ryan on the reccomendation of a friend, and couldnt be happier. Thought I needed a soldering but it was an oxidized input. Left it with him for a setup and she sounds better than ever!Going to take my other epiphone to him next.
The family of sales and repair folks at OC Guitar Amp Repair have never steered me wrong. They seem to care more about keeping musicians like myself in their family of customers for the long haul than just making a fast sale. And these folks seem to really enjoy being part of the OC Guitar Amp Repair family.
Ryan is friendly and knowledgeable. He has serviced my Louis Amp quickly and provided detailed information regarding the work that was done. Highly recommended.
Had my new Martin set up there. With the default factory setup it was very difficult to play, now it is the easiest acoustic guitar I have ever played. Raul is super nice guy to boot. Knows his gear.
Ryan is a walking encyclopedia of amp repair. He made my bacon sizzling, popcorn popping vintage Super Reverb become a Digital Modeling Devouring, creamy, butter delicious sounding amp that sounds great in the studio. I can’t say enough about his service.
Very Low contact drop off and my Bassbreaker sounds like new. Local, quick and reasonable priced-thanks again!
I made a call to ask a few simple questions and the person who answered was very patronizing and rude. Instead of helping me and walking me through my issue he said “get your info straight and call back”. As someone who works in customer service I could never imagine being so disrespectful to a customer. Will not be giving this company any future business and I recommend everyone else steer clear.
OC Guitar Amp Repair is THE place to go for service of all kind for your guitars, basses, and amps. Ive been blessed to acquire a vintage guitar, a vintage amp, and get expert service all at the same time - all from this great business. Not only that, but the owner is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to vintage guitars and amps. I am proud to recommend OC Guitar Amp Repair. And, as a perfectionist, I am pleased to have this be my go to source. Keep up the great work!
Exellent service at a great price.
Ryan was so helpful and so detailed regarding the repairs to our amps Carrie we will definitely use his services in the future!
Expert Repair / Fair Price / Quick Turn AroundAmazing place. After 3 short weeks and only 120$ they were able to wire up my cheap, junky GFS active pickups into a noiseless, stable system. These guys really go the extra mile and stand by their work.
Honest guy who does good work with good prices
These guys are great techs. They work on all tube amps and do great guitar set ups. CLASS ACT service...!!!
These guys are great techs, and they do great work! Prices are super too! I definitely recommend them.
Ryan does good work, has the best prices around, really worth checking him out.
Great service from Raul. He got my hand wired all tube amp up and running after being dormant in my garage for 15 years! Thanks again!
My Marshall blew up, now it sounds better than before. Thumbs up!
