The owner had been very helpful and knowledgeable sharing his opinion, experience and answering questions directly and honestly. This approach to intimate customer service is a rare in a world full of pushy sales people who don’t have the listening skills or the product knowledge to effectively match a customers needs to the shop’s inventory of products or services. Such brute force, lead with the features of the product approach, is not known to produce consistently good sales results. The patient win-win, long-term approach we use to acquire and retain customers is one ingredient in our business’s secret sauce of success and growth.The prices are what you would expect to pay at a small retail location that offers a very informed and personal customer service experience. The product line is one the owner uses and believes in. I have had him tell me flat out that he wouldn’t recommenced a product he stocks because he stock this only to satisfy a particular customer who requests it and swears by it. John carries the item but doesn’t promote it.John said to me that he isn’t a salesperson, which is an odd statement for a small retail shop owner to make. He clarified that means he isn’t trying at all times trying to grow his business, spending time and effort i.e. money on marketing that is trying to convince you to buy something you likely can do without, then he’s right, that is not the style or vibe in his shop.If you want the lowest prices without any assistance then Amazon is your place.
