The scrambled egg bagel with cheese is amazing, and if you and a friend are a light eater its big enough to split and still fill you up. Cant go wrong with a plain bagel and cream cheese either. The large blueberry muffin is another wonderful selection off the menu. Picture shown is the everything bagel with scrambled egg and sausage which is a mouth full and will leave your tummy full!

The wraps are good, but not amazing. The ingredients in the wraps dont stay consistent throughout the length of the wrap, so you dont get a consistent bite. But their hummus and curry chicken salad are very well made. Service was fast and friendly. I would come back to try their bagels some time.

Delicious. This is the best bagel place Ive tried in Gainesville, the bagels are made in house afaik and theyre always toasted nicely when I get them so that the texture is great throughout each bite. I like that they offer the day-olds for a discounted bulk price too, its a nice option to have. My only complaint: Im a cheese-lover and I think the asiago bagels are done a bit heavy-handedly, its almost like eating a piece of toasted cheese instead of a bagel. Only my opinion and Im sure someone loves them so couldnt knock a star for that.

Not the best service. Disorderly service line, chaotic, unclear where to start. I went and waited infront of the register for 10 minutes only to be told that the line began by the door and when I needed a fork I was told to wait. If another customer hadnt covered for the staff, I would never had known where the forks were. And worst of all I was told that they would bring my sandwich out to my table. If I hadnt returned inside I would never had eaten.

While Im sure this is a great place and the pandemic hasnt helped with being equipped with more than one staff member I could certainly benefit with both visits I saw people who left after waiting long periods of time while I did stay and wait about 15 minutes each for just a bagel with cream cheese which I might add the first time was amazing I love the amount of cream cheese he puts on the bagel the second time I waited a long time and didnt get what I ordered and made it all the way home before I noticed I think another set of hands would benefit

Food is great and so is the service, but I can’t for the life of me understand why people are allow in for take out with no mask. Also, I watched the owner pull his mask down to talk to a guest. The whole purpose of a mask is to stop droplets aka spit from leaving your mouth and getting onto a person, surface, or in the air. Please be considerate you have a large population of elderly that visits your location.

There are few places in town that know how to make a Nova correctly. Unfortunately this isnt one.The last two times Ive come in to get a nova, they left the capers off. This makes the sandwich. Without it, its very underwhelming. I called to complain, and the person who answered blamed it on a new hire. Do better. The individual who took my order asked Do you want everything on it? Onions tomato and capers so they KNEW it was supposed to have capers on it. They just didnt put them on.Staff is very friendly which is why I added the extra star. I wont bother coming again, though. Mediocre food at best.

As far as the bagels themselves go, probably the best actual bagel in Gainesville - I especially love that their bagels have 2 tops (both sides have toppings). Great if you want to just pick up a dozen and taken them home. Also, if you get their non-traditional bagel sandwiches (i.e., turkey, etc... just using the bagel instead of what would normally be regular bread), they are solid. Fresh ingredients on a good bagel - great. However, to me, what makes a good bagel place into a great bagel place is how they do their nova/lox, and this was probably the worst Ive had in my life. There was a giant mound of cream cheese, a tiny sliver of not-the-best smoked salmon (not very smoky, texture was a bit too soggy), and capers. I took it home and deconstructed it and reconstructed it to try to make it better with some mild improvement. To top it off, its also the most expensive bagels/lox in Gainesville. In summary, if you want straight up bagels, or a lunch-style sandwich, this is a great option. If you want true breakfast bagels, Id probably venture to Bagels Unlimited or Lukes New York Bagels for that.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I came in and they had 2 choices of stale bagels. Over 2 hrs before closure and they have no bagels left, I tried to look past this. I bought a nova bagel which was 15 dollars and the bagel had less than 3 measly slices of salmon on it. It was a rip off. I complained and they told me sorry and that they weigh it out. So if you want to waste your money and get horrible service make sure you come to bagel bakery.

Please read! I can’t verify if they bake their bagels daily? Mine was definitely not fresh. The young lady waiting on me was pleasant but was not really paying attention to her work. She cut my bagel beyond lopsided... when she put it in the toaster she had the two pieces stacked overlapping so the thicker half did not get toasted! The young man who rang me out looked like he hadn’t washed his t-shirt after a couple of days wearing it? I don’t care about the cost of your food. I really focus on supporting local business owner, but does the owner care about the quality and details? I would love to hear a response.

I am from New York, so I know a thing or two about good bagels. These bagels are delicious! If you go in the morning, they are so soft, just the way they should be. They are open pretty late so if you go in the afternoon the bagels might not be as fresh, but they are still delicious, and I would eat them in a heart beat! Oddly enough I wasnt a huge fan of their cream cheese the first time that I tried it, but now I really do like it. Great atmosphere, as well. Definitely a top breakfast/lunch spot for me.

Bagel Bakery is a locally owned shop with decent coffee. I am pleased to say that the prices of this independent store are comparable to major chains like Dunkin Donuts and Panera. I have been here twice, and on my first visit I tried the Guatemalan coffee, which had a nasty flavor; it tasted rancid with a soupy/acidic aftertaste (hard to describe, but almost like tomato soup) that I could only get down by adding stevia and creamer. On my second visit, however, I decided to try the Ethiopian (mixed with a little bit of Timor) and I was happy with the flavor. It did not feature an overpowering taste, but just tasted like a quality Cup O Joe. I drank it black and was impressed.I cannot personally comment on the quality of their baked goods, as I limit my consumption of gluten and carbohydrates, but my mother thinks the quality of their pastries and bagels are among the best in Gainesville.Overall, I would encourage people to give Bagel Bakery a try and support a local business with fair prices, especially in this time of economic uncertainty and hardship. Of the three independent coffee chains in Gainesville (COFFEE CULTURE; BAGEL BAKERY; and DONUT CONNECTION), I would place Bagel Bakery in the middle. Coffee Culture has better coffee and better customer service, but I would say that I prefer Bagel Bakery to Donut Connection. 3/5

This place is such a rip off. The bagels are good, but it is extremely over priced. I got a sandwich, a bowl of chili, and a regular sweet tea. My bill was $18 plus tip!!! The portions were small, I left hungry. If you get a coffee they want you to pay for a refill, not forced, but expected. While the food was good, I would not recommend this place if you are hungry or looking for a reasonably priced meal. I would have given two stars good food quality, but my order was messed up. So if you have lots of money and dont care about a budget or satisfying your hunger, or care more about the image of where you eat...this is the place for you

The comes with all the veggies along with cheese of your choosing and Either Spicy or regular hummus. What happens every time I order this, is they always forget to put something on my veggie sandwhich. For example, one day they will forget to put Lettuce on there or forget something else. One of the employees had it within her to tell me my order was difficult to make. I told her that it was pretty easy and not hard to remember m. I also noticed some of the workers there, have a bad attitude . The food there is very good, for what they have, but the customer service is horrible. They really need to get it right for once. Ive eaten at Bagel Bakery twice now (a month or so between visits) and both times have been somewhat taken aback by the general condition of the dining area. Having arrived at open this morning (6:30a), I found the tables to have been left unclean from the previous days business, trash had not been taken out, and a layer of dust continues to exist from one visit to the next on, around, and under most ledges/displays/dispensers. Furthermore, the staff twice now shown zero signs of energy. Granted this visit was early and working at an eatery isnt the fastest pace job, but walk into a competitor like Panera and youll receive nothing but bright smiles and cheery hellos...genuine or not at least theyre enthusiastic about taking my money. While Ill likely visit the establishment again due to its convenience, Ill leave this review standing until I see/experience a change in the atmosphere.
