This is a great store. Well stocked. Clean. Easy to navigate.Please don’t visit if you are in a hurry. The fabric cutters are usually fast but takes a while for fabric to be cut and to check out. The busyness of the store is somewhat unpredictable.

Its an older store but the selection is great and the staff were very friendly. Mind the parking lot is in the corner so cars can be quick there

I went to Joanns after lunch at a nearby restaurant. I enjoyed looking at the yarn and a few other things I looked at. My fiance however didnt enjoy herself. The aisles were too narrow for her wheelchair to get through and it was a bit too hot for browsing.

I didn’t have a great experience with the person who cut the fabric that I wantedI wanted a yard but cut it in 2 meaning 2 (1/2 yards )And she said she couldn’t do that 😬

I was VERY pleased with the Christmas boxes being 70 percent off which I bought 6 of them. The cashier was super nice. One thing that I was disappointed was their lack of Valentines things. Maybe they will be adding more at a later time??? I sure hope so!!!

The people who work at this JoAnns are incredibly nice and helpful. The stock is always great. But goodness gracious the check out line is usually wrapped around the store. Everyone is usually patient, but at the holidays they need at least one more cashier.

Unfortunately, the fabrics were not in the correct areas that the shelf stated were there. I couldnt find the fabric I was looking for. It was extremely expensive. Some items were so expensive that it would be cheaper to buy the items I was going to make at a clothing store. Finally, when the associate was cutting and measuring my fabric, she was going to give me the incorrect amount. Luckily I was watching her measure. I asked for 3 yards of fabric and she was about to cut the wrong side which was only 2 yards. Hancock was my favorite store in the area but now Im stuck with Joannes only. I am about to start ordering online.

Very helpful staff

The store is clean and the stock is usually filled. This is one of these smaller Joann fabrics in the area so they do not have a lot of variety but they do have a decent selection of fabric yarn and holiday supplies. For painters there was only a small selection of brushes paints and other supplies with only a small section for canvas.

I went into Joanne’s this morning with my mom to pick up some fleece. I took my number (19) and waited patiently. As my number got called, I started walking up to the counter. While walking up, Cecilia the lady at the counter immediately calls number 20. She didn’t even give me 5 seconds before calling the other number. Once I get to the counter, I tell Cecilia that I’m number 19. That’s when Cecilia turned volatile. She started screaming at me and made me cry. She was being a bully towards me. I was humiliated in front of other customers all because I didn’t get to the counter fast enough. This type of customer treatment is unacceptable and needs to be fixed!!! I am truly Mortified by Cecilia and I’m not sure if I want to continue giving Joanne’s my business because of her. I DO NOT want her to loose her job over this but you all definitely need to have a corrective conversation with her. I understand that These are stressful times for everyone, but there is no excuse that can justify this type of customer treatment. It’s unacceptable!!!On a side note:I did speak with the MOD, Laura, and she was very nice and apologetic towards my mom and I.

Great selection and well-stocked. I took off one star because the store is always frustratingly understaffed. The cashiers are always very pleasant but the fabric center staff can be a bit cranky, most likely because they are overwhelmed with too much work and not enough help.

Very mixed feelings. Online inventory did not match what they had. (Online said they had 30 of an item and they had 1.) Which meant I did not get what I wanted from the trip to the store. On the other hand staff spent a lot of time looking for the unfindable items. Would not come back except fornordering ahead.

Dont bother to shop here. 5 out of 6 of my curbside pickup orders were cancelled after weeks of waiting. When you look online, it says that the items are still available.The only time my order was accepted, it took 3 days for it to be ready. Directions on how to do the pickup is a bit confusing. I got there, I parked my car at the closest parking spot to the front door. The person taking things to the car yelled at me that I had to park at the curb and went inside the store. Note that I only parked a few feet from the curb and I had seen her take it to someone elses car where I had just parked (Note, she made them get out of the car to open and close the trunk. This person wasnt wearing a mask).I reversed my car and parked at the curb as instructed. I saw theres a different number to call (no one answers the regular number online). I started calling to let the employee know who was picking up my order. The person inside rudely came out and told me to hang up. I told her my name. She went inside to get my order. When she came out with my order, I opened my trunk using the button on my car but my trunk was was stuck. She made me get out of my car to nudge my trunk open and close my trunk making me get less than 6 feet from her, which makes the curbside pickup useless. She said shes not touching cars. There are other small local fabric stores in the area that employ nicer people that know what they are talking about and are willing to help. Instead of buying at a rude big business, I recommend shopping local. Your orders are ready right away and they are always super polite when Ive talked to them on the phone.

This is a relatively small and cramped JoAnn Fabric. Aisles are a bit narrow and there isnt a ton of space around the cutting tables, which makes social distancing hard if its crowded. If you can go at off hours, though, it has the basics youd expect from any JoAnns.

Good discounts and good customer service. But wish they have more gauze fabric because they out of stock now. 5 star from regular customer. Thanks. Jesus is God Amen.

Love this store, associates are always friendly and willing to help. Today the selection was limited and some of the items I was looking for were out of stock. The associate that was helping me kept on apologizing.

Not very organized. And inventory does not match what it says is available online. Should get that fixed because I drove very far looking for a specific fabric and they didn’t have it. I will say that this location had more fabric options compared to the one closer to my home.

I like it. It was clean. No one asked if we needed help though...but that may be because there wasnt many associates on the floor.

Had a great experience yesterday with an older lady in glasses, today not so much. This store person by the name is Tatiana told me around 3PM to wait for confirmation on my order - which by the way was all just a bunch of floral wire. Takes maybe 6 mins to pull off a shelf. She was obnoxious about 70 other orders that came in. I call three hours later because the store closes at 7PM only to be told by her that they closed at 5 PM today. Well, thanks for ruining my experience and wasting my time. I will never use this store again.

Very very little inventory for drapery.

This is a smaller store that hasnt received the update Columbia has. They also have things discontinued in other locations. Staff was nice and prompt and store was tidy if full.

This place is packed with fabric, notions and other sewing and crafting needs and wants! I was surprised that they also have solar lights and decorative signs as well as Wilton and other baking needs. Im eager to spend another 2 hours looking around!

I am a regular at arts and crafts stores, and have been to this store approximately 10 times. I try not to go there, because every single time I did, I got no help, had to wait for increadibly long to just ask a question, and was treated rudely at the counter. I hope the management of this store pays attention and fixes this situation, because they sure wont be getting business from me (and I suspect others who like to be treated well).

The one employee decided that her shipment was more important than helping us. I politely asked if she could help us. She said yes and then proceeded to trying to pull the cart with fabrics from the back. She couldnt get it through the door and we watched her for a food 3 mintues before another employee came to help and then said oh do you all need help. They really need to train their employees on customer service and diversity training. Id rather go to any location but this one.

The store is small and old. I would have bought fabric but the wait for the cutting counter was much too long. Selection is limited compared other Joann stores. Much prefer Frederick or Hagerstown stores. Leesburg is by far the nicest although their fabric section is rather messy.

Found what I needed fairly quickly. The store looks picked over and almost had a bargain basement feel to it. Wish they cleaned it up a bit to make it feel a bit more inviting. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Staff was super friendly and the prices were good, but the store is kind of small (smaller than other Joanns Ive been). It had low ceilings and the aisles were suuuper close together.

Disclaimer: Im a crafter, not a sewer, so Im only speaking on the craft side.This is a very small craft store, yet it covers most of the basics and a few frills. I expected to not find everything I needed and I didnt. Yet I did find a few items at a good price. I had a coupon for $5 off $35 which she didnt take off because she said with my discounts, the total was too low. Nope! It was $36.17 pre tax.

Terrible customer service. Do not get curbside pick up, they don’t pick up the phones, and if you go inside they make you wait in line (makes no sense if it’s already ready for pick up) I don’t recommend this store.

Clean store with a good selection.Adding to my review from two years ago.This is the best Joanns ever. All the employees and managers are super friendly and knowledgeable. I never have to wait long to check out. They have a number system to cut fabric so you can still look around instead of waiting in a line.

Great Service, The people their totally helped me. Im a beginner in sewing and a lady told me exactly what to and what to buy so I wouldnt struggle and she was right! Theres also alot of great fabric choices too.

Beware: online store hours state 10am-6pm but they expect you to check the paper posted on their door that says its actually until 5pm. Ive had pick up orders cancelled despite everything I ordered actually in stock when I visited, so dont bother with the online pick-up ordering.

It was right before closing but I was able to get a couple of fall decorations in no time.

The manager and assistant manager are very rude. They do not want to help you solve problems with online orders. Had an order that should take 2 days and 5 days later I have to call them to find out they dont have all of my order and will need to wait an additional 5 days. I never received a phone call or email informing me. I had to call several days and talk to the managers. Both of which talked over me when I was explaining my frustrations. The assistant manager hung up on me. They do not think of their customers first. Every person I can in contact with was rude and disrespectful. I do not feel this reflects Joanns as a whole but this store needs costumer management training.

If I could give it 0 I would. The kid (male) that works as a cashier is extremely rude to customers and mocks them. He also stole money from me. Making me think he was adding on the price of a bag but really was charging me way over and never gave me the change. On my way out before I even realized it I heard him mutter under his breath “money in the bag” all cocky. It didn’t occur to me until I looked at my receipt at home what he did. Disrespectful punk. Going to Michaels from now on.

I went to the Gaithersburg location a couple of weeks ago for the last time. The two times i attempted to buy items I was ignored by multiple staff( especially the one that cuts fabric, not sure of her name). One staff in particular by the name of ANASHA, the (African American girl with locs) has completely turned me off from all of the Joann Stores. Not only did people walk away from me when i was going to ask a question, but also walked away when they saw me walking to the registers. As i approached the counter literally in arms length of this girl, she ignored me like i wasnt there for about the longest 3-5 mins of my life. I gave her the benefit of a doubt the first couple of mins thinking maybe she was just clocking in, but she wouldnt even look at me. Clearly annoyed at this point i pushed the cart closer to the counter and was still ignored as she checked her cell phone. No, wait a min, ill be with you shortly, or i dont fell like working today....NOTHING! Terrible customer services and for someone that shops frequently for projects, this mistake at this store will NEVER happen again. I went to Micheals and AC Moore and was treated with respect. I made sure to tell all my friends that make a living off DIY projects not to go to this location. Ill be reaching out to their corporate office and BBB to make sure everyone is aware of her terrible behavior. So disappointing.

Everything you need for any craft project. Its not just sewing wares.

The store is kind of hard to see as its in the very back side of the shopping center. For the most part its pretty good for fabrics but the other stuff isnt always the best. Staff is for the most part friendly and I most of the time get what I need. They give good discounts when you sign up.

This is the only place local that sells fabric. Good stock and good variety.

The staff was extremely helpful and enthusiastic when assisting me. They walked me to the specific isle to show me exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend getting all your sewing and crafting needs here.

Great visit. Great yarn selection, better than Micheals. Ok. Heres the deal, what the heck is the handicap sticker doing on the front of the store? The doors are not automatic. Anyone in a wheelchair would need someone with them to get in and get through the entire store because of merchandise in the aisles and the heavy doors. With a cane it was difficult. Luckily both the staff and the costumers were friendly and helpful. Fix it.

The staff here is friendly, prices are decent, and I can get most of what I need in one trip. They have a large selection of fabric. Sometimes I have trouble finding specific yarn though. I went mid February and half the yarn was missing from the shelves. I assume they just hadn’t been able to restock in time.

The cashier was awesome. The one with very very long hair. And I got good discounts which is encouraging.

The place was clean and had a lot of stuff to buy and alit of house decorations.people were very nice and helpful.if you love seeing all the wonderful fabric and the sewing Dept is to die for. The lady there is so helpful and will help you with your sewing needs and the sewing machines you will love them.

Joann fabrics is the only fabric store near. The lines are pretty long from time to time. The customer service is great.

Be prepared to wander around lost in the store as there are limited sales persons to assist you had to waste valuable time going round and and round you are mostly on your own as reps are not helpful and appear overworked, also very pricey! You may likely find most fabrics here though.
