It was a pleasant buying experience. Boyd was very helpful. I was able to put a down payment on the gun. I ended up buying a classic Walther PP .32 ACP for my birthday. They shipped it to the store of my choosing to pick up. I would buy from them again. It was a Happy Birthday. Here are a few shots .

Used to be my go to place to browse and buy antique and milsurp firearms. But their prices have been inflated like crazy the last year or so. You can still find a deal once every blue moon, but definitely has lost the charm it once had.

I am writing this review because I may purchase from Simpson again and I want the process to improve. I have purchased two guns from Simpson Ltd and they were both as described. Pictures could say much more. Pictures looked like they were dusty or fuzzy like they were taken with a cell phone. I sent a request to speak with the photographer but I never heard from her. There was a bare spot on the barrel which photo didnt show. Sales manager(Floyd) did not honor what is written on the website which says we will provide more pictures if you need them. I asked for the picture of the crest; he didnt feel like providing it and didnt give it to me. I purchased my gun only based on the description which was written by a person with good judgment. Transaction went smooth and shipping took place one day after I paid for the gun.

Favorite online gun retailer. Ive ordered a few firearms this year using my C&R, had no issues at all. Customer service sounded grumpy as hell on the phone but all round great and answered any questions I had about the guns prior to ordering.I refresh their site multiple times a day at work to kill time and love seeing the new stock roll in, even if I cant afford it lol. Hope to visit the store front at some point since Im just in Indiana. Will 100% do business with them again.

More than likely ill NEVER use simpson limited again. i used to HIGHLY recommend recommend them to anyone who needed good help w/ lugers or training rifles.however, i will NEVER them again after the way that i was treated recently. i sent pictures of a pre war mauser trainer to be looked at. i have never heard anything back since then. thats been a month or so back. i never received any info back on my question or my original photos.im kind of worried what they may use the photos for WITHOUT my EXPRESS permission. ive learned my lesson and will DEFINITELY turn others away from here to MORE REPUTIBLE and KNOWLEDGEABLE places.

I had several guns on consignment with them for over two years. Zero communication from them, and virtually no assistance when I called them. After 2 years, the guns have not sold. I asked that they be returned to me as they clearly will not sell at Simpsons- and they charged me over $80 to ship 2 handguns back! They had no desire to try to get the pistols sold, never offered any advice regarding pricing, and the charge a fortune to return them after their failure to sell them. Nope, never again will I use Simpson

I have had two separate dealings with Simpson LTD. Each time has been a great experience with excellent customer service. The prices for the items was outstanding. Both items were well pictured and accurately described on the website. Each time they shipped the packages the item was protected very well. Shipping cost was fair and speed was fast. I am very pleased with the business I have had with Simpson LTD. I recommend them and look forward to future dealings.

Bought 3 Lugers from this business this week. They were pretty much as described. Packaging and shipping was prompt. Floyd was my salesperson and he was really good. Very nice man to deal with. My problem is with the woman that answers the phone. I had this same sort of person working for me years ago. Curt, not interested in helping a customer resolve an issue in general. It’s a very dated way of customer service that basically says “Take it or leave it” we have others we can deal with. The problem here is that because of the internet the world is a smaller place and honestly that attitude doesn’t fly anymore. If a customer asks for a ship date, put down the phone give him an answer. If they want a receipt emailed, do it. This attitude worked in the 80’s not now. They have a GREAT selection of guns they just have a dated attitude of customer service which is sad. I can’t imaging how much more they could do if they figured that out.5 stars for Floyd and Product 2 stars for Karen answering the phone :)

I ordered a C&R Belgium Hi Power from them, and the service was excellent. Both of the salespeople I dealt with were very kind and answered the questions I had. Shipping was very fast, and it was well wrapped. They included a nice pen inside the box as a thank you. The gun in my opinion was nicer than advertised, which Im very pleased. Thank you guys!

Ive done business with Simpsons for years. Never had a problem with their wares or sales personnel. Collectibles is written on the building. No it isnt a sporting goods store and most of what is offered falls in the realm of antiquities. If youre looking for a unique firearm, this is a good place to start your search. Ask for Dave and if you can make tears on demand, he may honor you with a discount(joke).

When I walked in, it seemed like an antique store, which is fine and all. The reason Im giving this one star is the service. I went to purchase a gas mask, and the clerk was VERY condescending and apathetic towards my girlfriend and me. After I got the serial number of the gas mask I wanted to purchase, he let out a large sigh and entered the back room. Upon his return, he tossed the gas mask on the counter and looked at me and said nothing. I stated that this was all Id like to purchase, and he rang me up. My card was declined, which was bad on my part, but before I could get my wallet back out to pay with cash, he started toward the back room. I didnt protest, as I did not want to buy from this establishment if the service was of this quality. I do not recommend going here. However, this in 2015, and I have not been there since. They might have different staff or policies now, to that, Im unsure.---UPDATE---Was there a couple weeks back checking things out. Did not buy anything as the staff were still off-putting. Any questions I asked were answered with around three words or fewer, and often times ignored. The responses I did get were very negative in the presentation: they were thrown out there like this was a place where no customer mattered. There is no way I will be returning here nor recommend my friends do as well.

Drove two hours to look at a rifle I saw on website. Walked in and asked cigar guy about the specific rifle and he acted like we were putting him out by asking to see a rifle...we were only ones in the store! Asked a few questions after looking at the rifle and again just seemed like he could care less about giving us answers to two questions, very unfriendly and plain poor service.

Ive been buying from Simpson for about ten years. Rudeness, inconsideration, and lies about condition are the nature of the business. There was only one employee who could be trusted and he was forced out of the business by the complete lack of professionalism and customer care by the employees and owners. Now that the wife of the co-owner has passed away, we anticipate Simpson Limited to pass into the background where it belongs.

Just left the store in Galesburg and I must say it was an absolute treat!!!! They were so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to help us. They gave us a tour and let us view the inventory in the basement. They even have West Point Uniforms, World War II U.S. issue uniforms and German reenactor uniforms. They were kind enough to help me pick out a World War I Doughboy Uniform Tunic which I purchased. My grandfather was a Rainbow Soldier, one of the Alabama Boys who fought in France. I am so thankful for their kindness in helping me to procure this piece of my familys history. They have an excellent inventory. They are Luger experts and they have several authentic German C96 Broomhandle Mausers that are Red Nines. They have Western Guns and Western bronze statues and many other fabulous historical things. These men are consummate professionals with a true love for what they do. Simpson Limited is your one stop gun paradise.

On March 9, 2018 I traveled to Simpson’s (about a hour drive time) hoping to find WWI and WWI weapons for my collection of military firearms. Although several weapons of interest were in their inventory, the “staff” was so off putting as to make any inquiry possible. Questions asked were an obvious annoyance and generally dismissed without any meaningful information. Two of the “staff” busied themselves by sitting on their duffs, and made it apparent that questions were not worth their time. Rude is applicable here, as well as ignorance about 98K German rifles, as well as US 1903s. And if a weapon was under the glass, an inquiry was addressed by “ staff” with the details are on the attached tag.Inquiries of an ordinary nature about military weapons were me with feigned ignorance or simply answered with an “I don’t know.”So, if you are looking for a weapon to complete a need you have for your collection, I suggest you think about Simpson’s last. As an alternative think about Rock Island Auction Compay, the leading authority on military weapons and the number one in staff courtesy.
