I have dealt with Ron Hoover for years and they have always done a great job. I bought several RVS after hurricane Harvey to house FEMA evacuees. They helped and get us good deals on RVS and then bought them back after the housing need was over. I also had a great boat buying experience with Mike Johnson. He had the best deal on a boat and gave me more on trade for my old boat than I was expecting. The finance guy pushed a little too hard for my liking, but that is his job I guess to sell extras. I did not personally need anything extra. So far the boat ( 28ft sportsman ) has been awesome and we had a great first year. Be sure to ask for Mike... he is low pressure and easy to deal with.
I was looking for a quote to repair 2 small holes in the side of my travel trailer.Wanted to charge $318 for a 10 minute assessment.(2hr min)Not to mention I had to pack up the whole camper to take to them to find this information out.Would be nice if they would let you know ahead of time.No wonder they are looking for work to do.Full disclosure saves time and money.....
I brought my boat in for a repair, a few days later I get the assessment call and they were trying to sell me everything under the sun, I told him I just had the 100 hr service done (yes almost new motor& boat and still under warranty), and after declining all the sales pitches he tells me $650, He told me it should be ready by Wednesday, I adjusted my schedule for Wednesday and no it wasnt ready Wednesday I understand schedules slip, but a courtesy call could have been done to communicate with me. I get there and its $750. I ask him about the extra $100, he tells me 48.60 for disposal fee and taxes, he doesn’t explain anything about the repair so I think, ok maybe he is going to take me out to the boat and walk me through the repair, nope. He tells someone to go out with me and help me hook. I was told to go to Beaumont and stay away from there now I know why... NEVER AGAIN!!!
Bought a boat from them have had it back in the shop twice and they did not fix the problems. Gave up and fixed what I could myself. Did not buy a new boat for it to sit in the shop. The service department 👎
This place was great. Michael did an amazing job in getting us into oir first boat. We never felt pressured into getting something we did not want. They were very honest, friendly, and professional. Honesty is something that seems rare when it comes to a sales person, but we felt like they had our best interest in mind the entire time. We purchased a used bay boat, and they did their best to take care of the majority of my requests. If I ever had to buy a boat again, I will definitely go here as my first stop.
The dealership took great care of me. Brad and Willie have answered every question and every email. I love my new boat, thank you Ron Hoover!
Gave them 2 stars only because Wayne in sales was great to deal with on 2 boats I purchased. The service department is another story. Disorganized, no follow through, broken promises on appointments. Wrong parts on hand when bringing the boat in for scheduled service. Enough bad to make me think twice about where to purchase my next boat even though the purchases and Wayne in particular were very fair. Service department needs a serious overhaul
Excellent service! We had a broken side window on our RV, a big problem as we are from the UK and driving around the US. Every day with an unsecure vehicle was a day lost on our trip. We called various places, but Britney at Ron Hoover grasped the issue immediately. We were back on the road within two and half days and the team at Ron Hoover were all friendly, helpful and supportive when we most needed it. Thank you. A&M
We bought a boat from this dealer and it really seemed like they didn’t have their ducks in a row (if you know what I mean). I came from out of town to pick up the boat and the salesman was just rude to begin with. We found parts on the boat that were missing or needed to be replaced and asked for them to send them to us. Finally, after about 2 months, we’ve received the parts. All along the way they kept telling us they hadn’t ordered them, or they forgot, or the parts were here and they were going to ship them. The last straw with them was when we’d been waiting for almost 2 months, called up there and they said, oh yeah we forgot to ship them to you. Typical sales- they want you to buy, buy, buy but they don’t want to follow up with any customer service afterwards. We won’t be buying from them again.
Found a boat in Florida brand new/current year/0,0 hrs model, and asked the folks @ Ronald Hoover about a 2018 they had with hours and such on it. They were asking $5,000 or thereabouts more than the location in Florida for a used boat and arrogantly told me to “go buy that one”. As the grandson of a retired Fortune 500 CEO (Retail Corporation). I’ve always been taught that you’re never too good for anyone’s business, and you never give a customer a reason to walk out the door if you can provide them the product they want/need. It must be nice to be Ronald because he apparently has so much business and is doing so well that A) not only does he not need this sale but B) encourages his sales team to tell customers to go buy boats elsewhere. I guess making the deal for the customer isn’t a priority here. The first travesty is I got the old “this boat is sold” like. I know it’s not because I’d called an hour before to ask about it. The second is some poor guy/gal/family is buying a used boat from Ronald Hoover and could make the drive to Ft. Myer’s and actually save several thousand and get a boat that is a model year newer/a brand new engine/brand new everything. I also hope whoever is buying this used boat takes it to a third party mechanic first because I have a friend who bought a 2200 NauticStar CC from Ronald Hoover Galveston and was told it was “real nice, Clark” like Cousin Eddie from “Vacation”. After over 10K to a 3rd party Evinrude mechanic in his first year of owning it my friend finally ended up with a good solid running boat.
Excellent service experience. Morgan is awesome and always takes care of me!
Let me tell you what kind of customer service this business and its employees have:First off any time I need something or have a question they are there to help me (even after the sale)Today I got a nail in my trailer tire at the boat ramp at Tiki after fishing all morning, not only did Don (the service manager)come to the rescue but he brought along on of his techs and a portable air compressor to fill my tire up. They saved me from being stranded. They then followed behind me to make sure I made it to the shop. Once at the shop Alex, another tech found the nail, patched it, and checked all tires for correct tire pressure. I DIDNT EVEN ASK THEM TO DO IT! Now if thats not excellent customer service I dont know what is. I am a local business owner and have been in customer service my entire life. Well done guys
Boat was bought in 2013. No warranty service . 3-4 trips a year, always runs hot. I have to turn the boat after running it for 3 mins. Left rags inside the bilge pump. Terrible serviceIDK why they can never fix my boat and keep charging me for the same problem. I think they just charge me and never fix it because lately Ive been back every 2 weeks lately.

I had a recall on my motor a while back. long story short i was lied to repeatedly, job was botched and nobody really seemed to care. NEVER AGAIN
Everyone was very friendly with fast service
Theyre ok. Theyre parts department leaves something to be desired.
Thomas their sales guy refused to show us more than 2 Diesel Pushers, because he works on commission and we werent buying today. I found that completely ridiculous, and just not what I would expect.
Worst service department ever .. our new boat has been in the service department more often than not . NEVER AGAIN ....
