They have everything you could ever need in a hardware store. The staff are very knowledgeable and they wont make you feel like you dont know anything. Also, they wont try to upsale you.

Great hardware store with plenty of help! They have a little bit of everything but don’t overwhelm you with too broad of a selection. Good selection of spray paints, fasteners, hardware, paint brushes, and tools. All the employees were super friendly and met us at the door to help. Glad this place is on the island in such a good location. This will be my new go-to hardware shop.

It isnt Home Depot. Selection is limited but convenient. Gardening tools but no outside plants. Surprisingly no bug zappers for mosquitos.

Horrible Customer Service. Staff more times than not, has a bad attitude and is down right rude to Customers. Their attitudes is what makes people shop at the big box stores where prices are much cheaper and staff much friendlier. I always try and shop local and small...but I will not support a local and small business that doesn’t appreciate or respect me as a Customer.

I always try to support small businesses, and Chalmers is nearby, but after being treated disrespectfully several times I’ve vowed to never go back. I will say there is one older gentleman with a beard who is super helpful and friendly, the rest are jerks.

They need to know that 1 1/2 electrical parts are geared towards the industrial. The home owner needs 1 1/4. Havering said that they do have a great selection of materials and convenient location

I had a awesome experience with this business. My key had broken in the ignition of my car leaving me stick in the drive thru of a fast food restaurant. They recommended that I call Chalmers. I called right away and within the hour I had a new working key. Other businesses were charged double what I had been charged at Chalmers. They were even nice enough to give me a ride back to my car and assist me with moving it out of the drive thru so they get go back to business as usual. Thank you so much Chalmers for your hospitality. I would recommend this business to anyone. Very honest and ethical company.

What a great hardware store! Staff was very helpful. You can actually buy 1 bolt, instead of a big package of them like you have to at these huge box stores!

Bought a 3/8 cord drill for a job today. Got home and found it wouldnt even power on. Closer inspection of box showed that it was a return. Took it back an bought another one of different brand. Got home and found that the chuck was frozen shut. Box also showed that it was also probably a return. My whole morning was wasted, because Chalmers puts defective merchandise back on the shelf. I live close by, but I wont be back. One star is too good.

Went in to buy snap rings. Mark stopped me and basicaly threw me out of the store. He said: I will have to wear a mask or he couldnt do business with me today. Something about being in WAR mode. He was short and very rude. I could not have been more embarrassed I think. If this store was not the only hardware store that seems to stock what I generally need I would be happy to oblige him and every other DNC BOI and never set foot near that place. Ive been living in Galveston since 1998 and I have come to understand that I am fortunate to have not been a BOI. Dont forget your mask LOL

From the second you walk in the door you are greeted and offered help, tell em what you need and they will send you to the exact location on the aisle. Great little gift and decor items as well. Super convenient to run in here and out in 3 minutes, as opposed to driving all the way down to one of the big box stores! #shoplocal

I use Chalmers quite a bit for the company I work for. The service is always top notch and the hours are great! Open early and close late. The folks at the front are happy to see you and ladies in embroidery are helpful and always have a smile on their face!

This place is awesome my home is older and theyre the only place on the island that will carry things for more of a Victorian home as well as I know nothing about hardware and I just go in there with the item on looking to replace or I describe it to them and they help me find exactly what I need it is also inexpensive
